00:05Just woke up, it is quarter to eight and breakfast is served at the hotel at 8am
00:13Now last night I just want to say one thing that kind of creeped me out actually
00:18So we were put in room 12 here at the Stuart Hotel in South Shore on Clifton Drive
00:26And at about three o'clock this morning I woke up to the sound of somebody tapping on my bedroom
00:32door
00:34Now my wife Claire, she was asleep, I was some Roman, he was also fast asleep
00:41And I got up, I got dressed and I went to the hotel door
00:48I'm looking through the little peephole and I realised that there was no one there
00:56Yeah, nobody there but the tapping still continued on the hotel room door
01:02This morning when I woke up I've logged on to Google and I've searched the Stuart Hotel for unexplained sounds
01:12And sure enough the Stuart Hotel being listed as a very old building
01:17And been renovated countless times with different owners
01:21Has come back saying that it has had paranormal and haunting goings on
01:26And it's currently listed on quite a lot of haunted location websites
01:32The BBC even has an article on it
01:34So it kind of freaked me out a bit
01:38But yeah, you get the idea
01:41So I am going to go in
01:44And I am going to go and speak to the owners
01:46And just ask them if they can give me a bit of information really
01:49But we'll also have a look around a couple of places in the hotel
01:52Like the main bar which is currently empty

09:40Perfect beach on such an amazing day.
09:45From what I was reading online, I think when we rolled over into 2026,
09:51here in Blackpool, it's literally rain every single day of this year.
09:56It's only recently over the past three, four days
09:59that we've finally been getting this really nice summer's weather.
10:03And it's warm as well.
10:04And it's still only 20 past nine in the morning.
10:07But this beach looks absolutely beautiful.
10:28I think the only letdown with Blackpool these days,
10:34even though it began as a place where families would come
10:39and enjoy family days out like Pleasure Beach
10:42and the attractions on the front.
10:44The only problem now is there's so many rundown hotels
10:48that were once booming and now they're not.
10:53They've just closed and nobody's decided to do anything with them.
10:58So there's less choice for families and family hotels, you know?
11:02And I think that's why Blackpool's now struggling.
11:05And I know the Blackpool Council are trying to put things back into the town
11:09to get it up and running again.
11:11But I think it's moving forward a bit slow.
11:15And yeah, it's gutted just to see so many derelict hotels.

11:52We bought him the bear way back when he was just born.
11:57We actually bought the bear as a dog toy.

12:14He's even started taking him to school.

13:23At the moment it's dead and the weather is absolutely stunning.
13:27It's actually pretty warm as well.
13:30But is it still a staple of what Blackpool really is?
13:34Considering the run-down hotels and less visitors each year.
13:41I've got the little one wanting to go on a fireman's game.
14:01It's half past ten and nothing is open yet at all.
14:08So we've walked the entire length of the Golden Mile.
14:13Sorry about that, roaming and screaming in the background.
14:16And seriously, all he wants is an ice cream.
14:18But there is literally, absolutely nowhere open.
14:23What a nightmare.

14:56Finally, something was open.
14:58The little lad had his ice cream, which his mum's currently holding.
15:02And he's managed to get on some trampolines with no one else around.
15:05So he's got free roaming the place on his own.
15:07We only had to wait two and a half hours until it opened up.
15:11But hey-ho, I guess that's Blackpool.
15:14But he seems to be enjoying himself.
15:23As you can see over here, the famous big wheel on the central pier.
15:28And just behind me, come over here, we have the iconic Blackpool Tower.
15:37He's enjoying his bouncing on the trampolines because there's no other kids on it.
15:41And here I am on the camera.
15:44So I'm going to end this vlog here for today because we will be heading back to Fleetwood very soon.
15:50But it has been a good stay in the hotel.
