00:00Today I want to talk about the Falcons, and here's why.
00:03Again, we are just a little bit over a day away from the schedule being released.
00:09We know the opponents, we just don't know when and where, except for the Week 9 International Games game.
00:17But what we do know now, what we are armed with, is the moves they made in free agency and
00:25the draft.
00:26So what I want to take a look at today is the number.
00:30The number.
00:32What is the number?
00:33Well, I'm glad you asked.
00:35The number is 6.5.
00:386.5.
00:41We knew about this number when it was first put out.
00:46But what I want to know from you specifically at 404-726-0929, and I know you'll be honest with
00:53me because you always are,
00:55has the following things changed your opinion at all about if they're going to win more or less games?
01:04And do you think they're going to win more or less than 6.5?
01:086.5, guys, is really, really low.
01:12It just is.
01:13I mean, there's no way to sugarcoat it.
01:15I know a lot of it has to do with the quarterback situation or non-situation, despite whatever videos about
01:22Michael Penix are being floated out there.
01:27But we saw the moves they made in free agency.
01:30Did that move the needle for you?
01:32We saw what they did in the draft.
01:34Did that move the needle for you?
01:36We also saw what the division did.
01:40And I think this is something that should not and will not be slept on.
01:46The moves that the Panthers, the Saints, and the Bucs all made this offseason, I think all three of them
01:54got better.
01:55And I don't think that's arguable.
01:57I know we had Frank Schwab on the other night, and he said he didn't think the division was still
02:02strong.
02:03I disagree.
02:05I think the division got a lot better, and I think it's going to be a lot more competitive.
02:10So you tell me.
02:12What do you think?
02:13Where are you at post-draft, post-free agency, pre-final schedule release?
02:19What do you think of that number?
02:21Six and a half.
02:23Is it?
02:24We'll do a little like Goldilocks.
02:26Too hot, too cold, or just right.
02:29What do you think?
02:324047260929.
02:33I think it's too low.
02:35I think that it's borderline disrespectful.
02:37If this team wins six or seven games this season, it is an unmitigated disaster, in my opinion.
02:46I don't care who's playing quarterback.
02:48This team is too dang talented.
02:52And you know what else that would say?
02:54Did we all get it wrong about Raheem and Terry?
02:57If they only win six or seven games next year with all the talent, best running back, top 10 wide
03:04receiver, top 10 offensive line, all the young studs on defense, Terrell Brothers, Jesse Bates, best safety in football.
03:17Another year, Jalen Walker.
03:19We'll see if Pierce comes back.
03:20With all that, if they only win six or seven games, to me, that's an unmitigated disaster.
03:28It just is.
03:30But what do you think?
03:334047260929.
03:34Maybe you're not a believer.
03:35Listen, I know all the patchwork moves that they made in free agency.
03:41Aboukham, Ojawari, Harris, Tindall, Darnay Holmes, Jawan Taylor.
03:47I get it.
03:48But they're still better than six or seven.
03:50Come on now.
03:52Six wins, seven wins.
03:53That Vegas number has not moved.
03:57Six and a half wins.
04:00Now we have, like I said, now we have more data points to look at to see if that number
04:07should be changed.
04:08And I don't think it's going lower, so I'm going to say it should be changed higher.
04:13God forbid I get somebody who calls in and says it should be lower, fall out of my seat.
04:20But yeah, you got all the draft picks now.
04:23You can take a look at those.
04:24You got all the free agency moves.
04:27You got who you're playing on the schedule, and then you saw what the division did this offseason.
04:34For me, the division is absolutely going to be tougher.
04:39But you better win more than six or seven games.
04:42I mean, my goodness.
04:45If Kevin Stefanski can only manage six or seven wins this year and everybody's healthy, he doesn't deserve to keep
04:53his job.
04:54Sorry.
04:55Maybe y'all who are hating on him before he's coached a game for this team are right.
05:00And maybe he's just not that good if that happens.
05:03I believe in him.
05:05I believe in Matt.
05:06I believe in Ian.
05:08I believe in the vision.
05:09I believe in the whole thing.
05:11I'm not saying 11 or 12, but I am saying more than six and a half.
05:17That's what I am saying.
05:19After watching what they did in the draft, really liked their draft.
05:23After watching what they did in free agency, didn't love it, but I get it.
05:26It's all about 2027.
05:28But that's still not an excuse to win six or seven games.
05:33And, of course, the elephant in the room is the quarterback.
05:36Of course.
05:37We all understand that, right?
05:40We all get it.
05:41It's the quarterback.
05:42We don't know, and we won't know for a little while here, who's going to be suiting up at QB1
05:48for the Atlanta Falcons.
