00:00What do people want you to do in artificial intelligence that you haven't done yet,
00:03and what are you going to do in artificial intelligence?
00:05Well, AI will be a real accelerant to our business and will help us in a number of ways.
00:09Number one, and what I'm maybe most excited about,
00:12is it will help us reach and help a new demographic of client that we couldn't before.
00:18We've got branches all over Manhattan that you could walk into and get help from someone.
00:23In order to have a dedicated relationship, you have to have a million dollars at Schwab.
00:27There's a vast majority of our clients don't have a million dollars,
00:32and many people in America don't have a million dollars,
00:34and they don't qualify for that dedicated relationship.
00:38Using AI, we'll be able to offer them some of the same personalized insights
00:42that we're giving every day in our branches and in our dedicated relationships.
00:46So that'll be a huge unlock, and then it's providing incredible efficiency to the way we serve our clients.
00:52Now, you must have a gigantic computer system somewhere to operate,
00:55keep all counts of everything.
00:57Where are all your computers? In the cloud somewhere?
00:59We're in the cloud.
01:00We also still have some mainframe capabilities backed by big data centers,
01:05so certainly a lot of compute at Schwab.
01:09Now, suppose the president of the United States is watching this,
01:11and he says this is a talented man who should serve his country,
01:15maybe someday as secretary of the treasury or chairman of the SEC or something.
01:20Would you have any interest for any president going into government?
01:23I would. I would love to serve our country.
01:26At the same time, I'm 53 years old.
01:29I love Charles Schwab.
01:31I would never leave anytime soon for anything else.
01:34I love what we're doing.
01:35I love the difference we're making in our clients' lives.
01:38But absolutely, after I retire, if there was an opportunity, I'd love to help the country.
01:43I think this is an amazing country.
01:44I see it every day with the 12 trillion client assets that we have.
01:47I can't tell you how many times I meet with clients that started a business here in America
01:52and now have more money than they ever dreamed of
01:54or made a little bit of money, invested in other companies here, and have made a fortune.
