Four chefs are drafted into the Battle Kitchen, an alien cooking show where each day’s banned delicacy — ortolan, fugu, bat, casu martzu — is designed to break them while marinating humanity in guilt, paralysis, obedience, and acceptance for harvest. Through flashbacks we learn why each chef is vulnerable: Nobu’s vow against cruelty, Philippe’s ego and loss, Yan’s starvation-bred ruthlessness, and Gino’s soft heart twisted by debt. Day 5 reveals the real game: their loved ones are the final ingredient for the Consumo King, a continent-sized alien who’s eaten 4,722 species and now craves the one flavor his kind never evolved — mercy. Nobu refuses, plating three empty dishes of shōjin ryōri that burn the judges; he’s abducted to be the King’s eternal chef on a planet-pantry where he must somehow cook mercy without being consumed. On Earth, billions stand in obedient lines awaiting “Harvest Day,” while a boy in a bunker finds Yan’s Last Menu and learns the only recipe that might poison a god: empty rice.
