00:30The relationship we share with them is as rich and as varied as they are.
00:33When you look at dogs across the world,
00:36they fit into so many different environments and communities.
00:40They're quite amazing.
00:44Scientists are now uncovering how the long-shared alliance
00:48between canines and humans
00:49has fundamentally changed their biology.
00:53And potentially ours too.
00:56I feel like we're at a real cusp at the moment.
00:58So we've gone from looking at dogs as perhaps working partners and possessions
01:03to now recognising that they're sentient animals
01:05who have their own rich, meaningful, emotional lives.
01:11This last 20 plus years has seen this explosion, this revolution.
01:17And now scientists all around the world are studying dogs
01:20and how they live with people from all sorts of different directions.
01:23and what happens, at the moment.
01:30The first thing you can do is play with them.

01:33you can discover a guy I live with a friend.
