00:00In a massive India Today impact, Neat UG2026 has been cancelled after allegations of a guest paper leak
00:06with the National Testing Agency admitting that the exam was unfit to stand.
00:11The decision follows inputs from central agencies that raise serious concerns over the integrity of the May 3rd examination.
00:18The centre has now ordered a comprehensive CBI probe,
00:22signalling zero tolerance for malpractice in one of India's biggest competitive exams.
00:26According to the NTA, law enforcement findings suggested the examination process may have been compromised,
00:33forcing authorities to scrap the test in order to protect transparency and credibility.
00:38CBI will now investigate how the alleged guest paper circulated before the exam
00:43and whether an organised racket was involved.
00:47NTA has confirmed that Neat UG2026 will be reconducted with fresh dates to be announced separately.
00:54Students will not need to register again, no extra fee will be charged and previously paid fees will be refunded.
01:01Existing exam centres will remain valid while fresh admit cards will be issued before the re-exam.
01:08Congress student wing NSUI held a protest against the centre.
01:11Protesters were seen climbing the barricades at Shastri Bhawan in the national capital.
01:19The best part which NTA has done till now is that they mentioned into their fourth point,
01:25into their public notice is that students do not have to register again for the examination.
01:32They will again issue the admit card on the same registration number as well.
01:36So that is the best part.
01:37So they do not give, they don't have to give any examination fee again.
01:41They do not have to fill again any of the form.
01:43So what NTA is doing for the best of the students is that students do not have to, you can
01:49say, fill the form again.
01:52I think that is the best thing which NTA can do.
01:54And they mentioned that also they will come up with the new dates, they will send the new admit cards.
01:59So as an educator, my again suggestion to all the parents, to all the students is that please do not
02:05get panic.
02:06It's a situation which happened to everyone.
02:07It's the same for everybody.
02:09I know as an educator also, because I was also a student, I am teaching so many students for so
02:14long.
02:15I know it is very disheartening to again prepare for the same examination.
02:18And for that examination, they were preparing for a lot of time.
02:23So I personally feel that they should not get disheartened.
02:26And they should feel that, okay, it's an opportunity and they have to perform again.
02:32And they should not jump too much onto the news itself.
02:36Who is right?
02:37Who is wrong?
02:37What happened wrong?
02:39Where is the next?
02:39So, I would say, for me, the situation which is a bad thing or bad is a bad thing.
02:43But the good thing is that the school is is also a bad thing.
02:46And that is the good thing.
02:49The bad thing is that the bad thing is a bad thing.
02:53In this period of time, you will set you up again for the process of the process.
02:58My other children are saying that our process was very good.
03:02They will not let this happen this time.
03:03They'll keep the present and that will be good.
03:05Thank you very much.
03:35Thank you very much.
04:06The NTA has said yes, there will be a re-exam and the fresh dates of the re-exam will
04:12be announced on the official channel.
04:14Students are asking that, do I need to register for NEET-UG exam?
04:20The answer is no. Existing registration suffices is what the NTA is saying.
04:26Students are asking, do I need to pay fresh fee for the exam?
04:31NTA is saying no, they will refund your fee.
04:34Students are asking, will my exam centre be changed?
04:37The NTA is saying that new admit cards will be issued but the centre in all likelihood may stay the
04:45same.
04:46Students are asking, why was my exam cancelled?
04:48The NTA is saying that according to inputs from central investigative agencies that showed malpractice and this is why the
04:57NTA took this step.
04:58Students are asking that, will that change my syllabus?
05:04The NTA is saying that there is no indication of that and the students must continue to prepare on the
05:09existing syllabus.
05:11Students are asking, who exactly is probing the NEET-Paper leak?
05:14The NTA is now saying that the CBI is doing or rather conducting a comprehensive probe
05:20and the NTA is fully cooperating with the CBI to ensure that they can get to the bottom of this.
05:27Many responses that have come in ever since the story broke.
05:30Listen in.
05:55And the word that goes out for students at this point,
05:59some who are worrying, who are in panic mode to know what happens next.
06:03Here is the list of do's and don'ts.
06:05Follow only the official NTA updates.
06:08Do not go by any sort of misinformation that may come in on social media.
06:13Avoid any sort of social media rumours.
06:16Keep your documents, your login details ready and handy with you
06:21to ensure that any update that comes in and you know that you have your details ready.
06:26Stay prepared for fresh exam dates.
06:29They could be announced any day now when the NTA knows that they are ready to conduct the next set
06:35of re-exam
06:36is when they will officially announce the fresh dates.
06:41Rework, revision and know your study strategy.
06:45Of course, for students who have gone through the exam once
06:47and they know that they have to go through it all over again,
06:50also requires mental preparation.
06:52But keep your morale high.
06:53Do not fall for fake notices or claims that majors do the rounds now
06:57and watch out for new admit card schedule.
07:01Maintain the exam momentum.
07:03Stay consistent.
07:05Yes, many of the students who may have thought that the exam is done,
07:09they are past that moment of pressure.
07:13Unfortunately, they will have to go through it again.
07:15They will have to face the exam again.
07:17But like the NTA is saying, that the moment they realized that there was malpractice involved in the paper
07:25that they gave on the 3rd of May is when they cancelled the exam.
07:31So the May 3rd exam now stands nullified.
07:33Let me take this to my colleague,
07:35Dev Ankur Vadhavan, who continues to be on the ground,
07:37getting us all the latest details.
07:39Dev, what more are you picking up in terms of the investigation?
07:41Because there is outrage now, not just from students,
07:45but we also see the political stuck fest
07:47and the opposition raising very serious allegations against the centre,
07:51saying that they don't care about the students.
07:55And that is why the paper leak news has happened again.
08:00That the allegations are of serious nature,
08:02given the kind of cancellation that has happened.
08:05Because remember, lacks of students have their career or their future
08:10based upon this particular examination.
08:13And the fact that the National Testing Agency
08:16has been at the centre of several serious questions.
08:19Because remember that this is not for the first time
08:21that the cancellation of NEET examinations happened.
08:24Even in 2024, when the examination was held thereafter,
08:28allegations of paper leak had surfaced.
08:31And, you know, at that time also,
08:33there were some several serious questions that were being raised.
08:36Once again, the fact that the leakage has allegedly happened
08:41from a printing press,
08:43that there are several of the accused who were detained
08:45by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group.
08:48And this particular person who was from Sikha district of Rajasthan
08:52had gone to Kerala and had sent allegedly the guest paper
08:56to one of his family members in Seeker.
08:59And from there, the paper allegedly exchanged several hands.
09:03And at least 140 questions from that guest paper
09:07has allegedly appeared in the main question paper
09:12that lacks of students had appeared for as it is.
09:16So, that has raised several questions as to
09:19how is it that the series of several of the questions,
09:23in fact, all of the questions in the chemistry paper
09:25had appeared as it is
09:27and whether there was any mass leakage of paper.
09:30Because if that was the case,
09:31imagine the kind of people
09:33who could have cleared this particular examination
09:36and the kind of repercussions that it could have had.
09:39Because, you know, this particular examination
09:41is meant to ensure that qualified, deserving people
09:46become doctors after pursuing the course of MBBS.
09:50This is the main focal examination
09:53for ensuring that the right kind of people
09:56get into the MBBS and thereafter...
09:59And like the opposition is saying,
10:01that this could be one of the biggest scams
10:03as they question the centre on the same.
10:05So, let's see.
