01:20it. Well, congratulations on your ACM nomination album of the year. How does that feel?
01:28It's, it's, it's the greatest honor of my career so far. You know, it's my favorite record I've
01:35ever made. I've never been more proud of a collection of songs than, than I am, you know,
01:41this, this record that came out last year. So, you know, to be mentioned in amongst so much
01:47fricking talent, so many crazy records and all the records that could have been nominated,
01:50um, you know, for, for this album to receive a nomination is, is mind blowing.
01:55That's so special. Did you see this morning? They announced Shania Twain is hosting this year.
02:01Yes. Pretty cool. I've never met her. I hope I get to meet her.

02:38I try to play some golf while I'm there, maybe the day after, but I played in Chicago the night
02:42before.
02:42So I'll be coming in hot and, and going to get up on and, and, uh, doing the do. So,
02:48and it's, it'll be, it'll be quick, but we're going to make the most of it.
02:52Okay. Is Hallie coming with you or is this like too close to baby time for her?

02:57Oh my gosh. That's so exciting. Uh, I also want to talk about your latest single
03:01killing me and talk about this song and the story behind it.
03:05You know, I had Randy Rogers and Monty Criswell. We were at my ranch in Texas, just hanging out.
03:10And, and, uh, we'd actually, we're trying to, Randy had this idea for this song. And I don't
03:15even know if we ever finished that song. We were in the middle of trying to write it. And,
03:18and I just kind of drifted off, you know, uh, my attention spans, you know, a half inch long.
03:24So, um, I kind of got distracted and I was playing guitar quietly. And I just all of a sudden
03:30started playing this melody and, uh, singing this melody and playing on guitar. And I was
03:34like, look, I don't know what we're doing with this other song, but we're writing this
03:37now. And, uh, and it was good enough for them to kind of step away from the other idea.
03:44And, you know, we just, I just kind of told him like, look, this song sounds like, you know,
03:50it's about this melody feels like, you know, you're about to do it. And, uh, I think this song
03:56needs to kind of, you know, lead towards that, um, which is a, it's a, it's a fun song to
04:02write
04:02about. Um, you know, just kind of being in the moment and, you know, getting all hot and
04:08bothered and, and, uh, the, the melody really kind of felt sexy and dark and the whole thing.
04:15So, which is not something that I've, I've really, um, you know, ever tapped into creatively.
04:22So it was kind of a new, you know, kind of direction for me to go songwriting wise. And
04:28that was fun. It was, it was, uh, the melody when the melody is that good, I'm very, you
04:34know, excited to, to, to write the song. Um, you know, you don't have to force it. And
04:41it seems like the songwriting is a lot easier when, when you love the melody, um, always is
04:45the case for me. So, uh, we, we wrote it rather quickly. I don't think it was, it was much
04:50of a grind and, um, and I knew I was going to cut it right away. As soon as you
04:55wrote
04:55the song, I was like, I know I'm going to record the song. I did not know it would be
04:58a single. I'd never really crossed my mind, but, um, I'm glad that it was. I think it's,
05:02I think it's a great song for radio.
05:04It's such a great song. And I know we were running out of time here. So the last question
05:07before we wrap up, I hate to bring it up because I know it's a touchy subject with you, but
05:11how
05:11is Parker McCollum's grass doing these days?
05:13You know, it's been raining in Texas for three days, nonstop. It's raining right now. It is. It's probably rained
05:21five, six, seven inches in the last three days. Um, that's great. Right. Oh, it's hopefully
05:28it's going to take, it's going to take probably close to a week for it to dry up and even
05:33be able
05:33to get the mower out again. But, um, I think here in here in about 10 to 14 days, we're
05:38going to be
05:38sitting pretty good. I love to hear that. Listen, I want nothing more for you than to win this ACM
