00:00This spaghetti dish is by no means Italian.
00:02I'm gonna start by boiling the spaghetti.
00:04I'm gonna make a little meat sauce in here,
00:06and I like to get my onion going first
00:08just to get it a little softened.
00:09I'm going in with a pound of ground beef and Italian sausage.
00:12Gonna add in a little bit of garlic powder here.
00:14All right, meat is browned, pasta is cooked.
00:17Add in a half a stick of butter
00:19and let that coat those noodles.
00:21And then we're just gonna use some store-bought sauce.
00:23I'm gonna add a splash into the noodles,
00:25the rest into the sauce.
00:26A little splash of water to rinse out the jar.
00:28All right, now I'm just gonna let this simmer
00:30for about five minutes.
00:32Before we layer, I have to make the iconic creamy layer.
00:35Eight ounces of cottage cheese going in.
00:37Now I don't think this is weird
00:38because my dad used to always put cottage cheese in lasagna,
00:41but what he didn't do was put sour cream in it.
00:43But here we are breaking all the Italian rules,
00:44which is why this is not Italian.
00:46And then also eight ounces of softened crepe cheese.
00:48In goes half of our buttery noodles,
00:52all of our creamy layer, and the rest of your spaghetti,
00:54the sauce, mozzarella, and then some grated parm.
00:58This goes into the oven 350 degrees
01:00until it's hot, browned, and bubbly.
01:02Let this sit for about 10 minutes before digging in.
01:06With that cream cheese in there, a little bit of sour cream,
01:09it's a whole different experience than lasagna
01:11or any other baked spaghetti.
01:13It's consistently good,
01:14and you can understand why it always goes viral.
