00:36They're taking her to Germany for further treatment.
00:39You haven't mentioned anything about my new look?
00:42You're alive.
00:43There's nothing more beautiful than that.
00:46Congratulations.
00:46You are one of the six nominees for the Spencer Award.
00:50You won't believe who else has been nominated.
00:53I do hope we can be friendly competitors.
00:56Excuse me, won't you?
01:08You've got a lot of food downstairs.
01:10How many people come into this breakfast anyway?
01:13Hmm, there's six nominees and three foundation members.
01:17Well, I hope they're hungry.
01:19I stole one of your sausages, just so you know.

01:48You jilted me first.

02:15It won't be long before she's not around anymore.
02:18Michael, it's too early in the morning to get sick.
02:21Mel and I have breakfast to run.

02:40As many as you want.
02:42But first, your father and I have a very special announcement.
02:46What do you think, babe?
02:47You think we should tell him?
02:49Tell us what?
02:50I don't know.
02:51Maybe we should wait.
02:53Yeah, it's too special.
02:55Yeah, never mind.
02:56We'll wait.
02:56No, come on.
02:57Tell us now.

03:30You're crying.
04:25How's your leg today, Major?
04:28I'm not quite ready for a 20-mile march, ma'am.
04:31But give me a week.
04:34When are you headed home?

06:51Good morning.
06:52I'm Andrea Arnold, chair of the Muriel Spencer Foundation.
06:56I want to welcome you to Fort Marshall, our host for the award this year, and to thank Claudia Joy
07:02for sharing her lovely home.
07:04Of course.
07:05Over the next two days, we're going to be getting to know each other quite well through a series of
07:11seminars, meals, and educational forums, which is exactly what Muriel Spencer had in mind when she and General Jonathan Spencer
07:19created their foundation in 1991.
07:21To honor and encourage military spouses who exemplify extraordinary service on the home front.
07:32We all know that when a soldier makes a commitment to serve this country, so does that soldier's family.
07:39And no one does that better than the six of you.
07:43In recognition, each nominee will receive a grant to further your volunteer work at home.
07:49Additionally, our award winner will receive a travel grant to represent the foundation across the country.
07:59I'll send you postcards.
08:06Hey, Patty.

21:25Okay.

21:51All right.
21:54Maya.
21:55Come on, have some fun.
21:58I told you I don't drink.
22:01What fun is that?
22:02I'm serious.
22:04Uh, yeah, that's real obvious.
22:08Well, I didn't bring you here to watch you get trashed.
22:12So, watch something else.
22:27Hi.
22:28Hi.
22:29Hey, babe.
22:30Long night?
22:31Yeah, but who's complaining?
22:34The hump is back.
22:36We're up 60%.
22:38Ben.
22:38That's awesome.
22:41Can I get a kiss?
22:43Yeah, sure.
22:44Come here.
22:46Good day with the kids?
22:48It was great.
22:49We went to the park, the movies, had a couple burritos.
22:53What are you looking for?
22:55I want to show you something.
22:58What?
23:01Um, I got this stuffed monkey for the baby, and I swore I left it right here.
23:08Does the monkey have red on its hat?
23:18Did the boys know you got this?
23:21I showed it to them at the park.
23:23Did you tell them it was for the new baby?
23:26Yeah, and they seem good with it.
23:29Well, babe, it looks like we've got hatred, jealousy going on here.
23:34All right, I'm going to go talk to them.
23:36No, no, no, no, no.
23:37Let's both talk to them together.
23:39And not now, because they're asleep.
23:42Okay?
23:44Okay.
23:58Hello?
23:59Uh, Mrs. Sherwood.
24:01Emily.
24:02Honey, what's wrong?
24:03This girl drank too much at a party.
24:05I think she's in real trouble.
24:06I told her to stop chugging.
24:08Is she conscious?
24:09Um, no.
24:12I mean, maybe.
24:13I don't know.
24:14Okay, honey, slow down.
24:15Take a breath.
24:16Where are you?
24:17Um, I'm at Park Hill, near the flight line.
24:20You're not far from Mercer.
24:22You'll get there faster if you don't wait for an ambulance.
24:25Do you have a car?
24:26Yes.
24:27Have you been drinking?
24:28No.
24:29Good.
24:29Can you get this girl in the car?
24:32I need you to help me get her in the car.
24:34Look, my parents will freak if they find out about this.
24:38Don't you bail on me.
24:40Okay.
24:41Emily?
24:43Yeah.
24:44Yeah, there's someone here to help.
24:45Good.
24:45Go straight to the emergency room.
24:47I'll meet you there.
24:48Come on.
24:55Come in there.
24:56She sends me orange.
24:58She's out of danger.
25:00Oh, thank God.
25:02I thought she was going to die.
25:03Oh, she's on an IV and they're hydrating her, but she's going to be okay.
25:08Okay.
25:09Are you okay?
25:14It's time to call your folks.
25:17Do I have to?
25:19You know you do.
25:22And you didn't do anything wrong.
25:26Okay.
25:29What were you doing at a drinking party?
25:31It wasn't a drinking party.
25:34Then how did this girl get alcohol poisoning?
25:36She snuck in a bottle.
25:38But I wasn't drinking, I swear.
25:41We know.
25:42We had this discussion after my promotion, Emily.
25:46How you are not to be any place where drinking is going on.
25:50How we are all being held to a higher standard.
25:53Now, am I making this up?
25:55No.
25:56Michael, she might have saved that girl's life.
25:59I recognize that.
26:00Once the situation got out of control, she acted responsibly and I am proud of that.
26:06What bothers me is how you put yourself in that situation in the first place.
26:12I expect more from you.
26:13Dad, Maya is a new girl on post.
26:16I was trying to be nice.
26:18Perhaps this will teach you to exercise better judgment when choosing friends.
26:22You're grounded for a month.
26:25What?
26:26Michael.
26:26That's it.
26:43Lieutenant Colonel Burton.
26:46How's life treating you, Joan?
26:48Well, General.
26:50And yourself?
26:51No complaints.
26:53My goddaughter is getting more beautiful every day.
26:57Glad to hear it.
26:59I understand recovery is going well.
27:02Yes, sir.
27:04Looking forward to rejoining my unit.
27:09Joan, General Ormond just called.
27:13He needs an O5 for an important tasking at Camp Endeavor, Iraq.
27:18Provincial Reconstruction Team.
27:20Sir?
27:22They're rebuilding schools, and it hasn't been going well.
27:26So he wants to send the best available leader I recommended you.
27:33Thank you, sir.
27:35He's also detaching Sergeant First Class Larson to assist you.
27:41This is a temporary assignment, but it's an important one.
27:46It's a high-priority mission, Joan.
27:50Hearts and minds, that's the goal here.
27:54I appreciate the recommendation.
28:01Listen, I know you want to get back in the fight, and you will.
28:06But right now, this is where the Army needs you.
28:10Yes, sir.
28:12I won't let you down.
28:13I know you won't.
28:15All the way.
28:17Airborne, sir.
28:23You'll each have ten minutes for your individual presentations,
28:26which will be your opportunity to talk about the work you do in your community.
28:32Let's take five before we get a group photo.
28:38Claudia Joy, how is Emlyn?
28:41I just heard.
28:42Poor dear, how's she doing?
28:44Emlyn's fine, thank you.
28:46Really?
28:47I heard she was taken to the emergency room last night.
28:51Something about alcohol poisoning.
28:53You're misinformed, Lenore.
28:55My daughter doesn't drink.
28:57Of course.
28:58No teenager ever drinks.
29:02Emlyn was at a party last night where another girl drank too much and passed out.
29:07Emlyn drove her to the hospital.
29:09Daze, what with all these wild parties going on, huh?
29:13Actually, it's not so difficult.
29:31I don't know.
29:40I don't know.
29:44I don't know.
29:45I don't know.
29:45I don't know.
29:45I don't know.
29:47I don't know.
29:47I don't know.
29:50I don't know.
