00:00The Fujifilm X-Half didn't make any sense until I stopped treating it like a camera.
00:04This is the X-Half and you'll probably have seen it in recent months as one of the weirdest Fujifilm
00:09cameras to be released in a long time.
00:11It's Diddy, it features a really small sensor and it's vertical. It's a half frame digital camera.
00:17It also features this little film advance lever which has really riled up the internet
00:23and a small screen on the back for flitting between your film simulations.
00:27Now when I first got hands-on with this, it really didn't click for me. I didn't get it.
00:31And then I've been using it as basically just a carry-around point-and-shoot camera
00:34and that I think is where it really did click for me.
00:38This camera isn't a camera. This is your phone camera.
00:42It's not actually that much bigger than a phone camera, the sensor size,
00:46but also the fact that it's a vertical orientation means that anywhere where you might normally pull out a phone
00:51and snap a quick picture,
00:52which will then sit in a camera roll and you'll never look at it ever again, use this in that
00:56scenario
00:57and you've suddenly got a much higher quality image.
00:59You can put all of your various film simulations and effects on it and you don't have to use the
01:04phone.
01:05You get that whole digital detox thing, which I think people are really going for in this day and age.
01:09This is a camera that works best when you don't think it's a camera. How cool is that?
