00:00On Sunday, Venezuela's acting president de Alcea Rodriguez arrived in the Netherlands
00:04with the goal of defending the country's historical rights over the Guayana-Sequiva territory
00:09and ensuring compliance with the Geneva Agreement.
00:12Upon arrival, Rodriguez expressed she seeks to promote the defense of international law
00:17and the current norms that should govern the civilized world.
00:21In this context, she ratified the Bolivarian nation's sovereign rights over the Sequivo,
00:25noting that the country has proven to be the sole historical owner of that area since it's a Republican area
00:32and colonial administration.
00:33In the territory is the subject of this dispute that Guayana has unilaterally initiated at the International Court of Justice
00:41in The Hague,
00:42with hearings underway until Monday, May 11th.
00:53First of all, I want to wish a happy Mother's Day to all the women who, through hard work, sacrifice
00:58and boundless love for their children,
01:00have embraced the role of motherhood.
01:02So happy Mother's Day to all the mothers of Venezuela.
01:06And here we are, standing up to defend the majesty and strength of the Geneva Agreement.
01:11We are defenders of international law,
01:14and it is Venezuela that has always raised the banner of legality and the defense of international law.
01:21So, it is an honor for me, as a Venezuelan and an acting president,
01:25to be here as the voice of all of Venezuela and our people,
01:28defending our historic right over our Guayana-Sequiva.
