00:00With Season 3 just wrapping up, fans are already asking one question.
00:04Is Oshinoko coming back?
00:05And the answer might surprise you.
00:07For anyone needing a quick refresher, Oshinoko was based on the manga by Aka Akasaka and
00:13Mango Yokoyari, one of the biggest modern anime hits in recent memory.
00:18Season 3 officially concluded on March 25th with a one-hour special for episode 35.
00:24But here is what sets this series apart from most ongoing anime.
00:27The source manga is already finished.
00:30It wrapped up in November 2024, meaning the full story exists, and the production team
00:36has a complete roadmap to work from.
00:38As of right now, no.
00:40There has been no official renewal announcement.
00:43The anime's official website is still entirely focused on Season 3, and the finale, with no
00:48mention of a fourth season yet.
00:50That said, a renewal really would not be a surprise.
00:53Season 3 itself was announced back in October 2024, and with the manga already complete,
00:59the team has everything they need to keep going.
01:01No guarantee, but it is a strong possibility.
01:04If Season 4 gets greenlit, do not expect it anytime soon.
01:08Here is how the timeline has looked.
01:10Season 1 ran April to June 2023, Season 2 aired July to October 2024, and Season 3 kicked
01:18off January 2026.
01:20Following that pattern, 2027 would be the absolute earliest we could realistically expect Season
01:264.
01:27And even that is speculation.
01:29A 2028 release is also very much on the table depending on production scale.
01:34Based on where Season 3 ends, Season 4 would likely continue the 15-year lie storyline centered
01:40on the film about Ai's life.
01:42That means deeper fallout from Ruby stepping into Ai's role, more tension around Aqua's
01:47revenge arc, and mounting pressure on Kana, Akane, and the rest of the cast as painful truths
01:53from the past resurface.
01:55But here is what makes Season 4 potentially massive.
01:58The movie arc is not the manga's ending.
02:00Two more arcs follow, the end of the play, and the final arc, toward the stars and dreams.
02:06Season 4 could genuinely be the season that drives this story toward its ultimate conclusion.
02:11The full roadmap is already written.
02:12It is just a matter of when the anime catches up.
