00:01Bradley and Barney are back.
00:03Come on!
00:03And this time, they're heading further from home than ever before.
00:07Australia!
00:08Wow!
00:12Godspeed!
00:13This Aussie adventure kicked off in Australia's iconic Urzatz capital, Sydney.
00:17From there, it's full throttle north, past the sun-soaked beaches of the Gold Coast,
00:21before diving headfirst into the dusty worlds of the Queensland outback.
00:25Finally, ending in Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.
00:29As ever, Barney's embracing the culture and chasing thrills.
00:33And Brad?
00:35Well, he's just questioning the life choices that led him here.
00:38He's caught to keep hitting me in the eye.
00:40And trying to survive it.
00:41Guys, I really don't want to do this.
00:42I want to show you.
00:51The famous Blue Mountains of New South Wales.
00:55Stunning views, unique rock formations, bathed in glorious sunshine.
01:02But not today.
01:04This is what our trips are about, Dad. It's all about adventure.
01:06What do you mean adventure? I can't see anything.
01:08We're right in the Australian bush right now, in the Blue Mountains.
01:11Like, this is cool.
01:11Well, it's really cool because it's below zero.
01:15It's not below zero.
01:16Brad and Barney are continuing their adventures amongst these 340 million-year-old peaks.
01:22And, assuming they don't get lost, Barney is about to raise the temperature for his old man.
01:28You must be Hugh.
01:29Yeah.
01:30Barney.
01:31Hugh Ward is a climbing instructor, one of Brad's favourite types of people.
01:35Thank you for having us.
01:37My pleasure.
01:38Welcome to the Boar's Head.
01:39Boar's Head.
01:39Okay.
01:40There's a rock behind us that looks like a boar's head.
01:43Oh, when you can see it.
01:44When you can see it.
01:45Yeah.
01:46Don't worry, Brad.
01:47You're not here for the view.
01:48You're here to cross this perilous 30-metre gap, 200 metres in the air.
01:53Using the Tyrolean Traverse Method, devised in the late 19th century as a way to get between
01:59the spires of the European Alps without the hassle of climbing up and down.
02:04Sounds pretty sensible.
02:05And terrifying.
02:06This ain't a good start to the day, Hugh.
02:09It's okay, Brad.
02:10Barney will show you the ropes.
02:12Dad, I'll see you in a minute.
02:13See you on the other side.
02:13Yeah, cheerio.
02:14All right.
02:19Yeah!
02:22Whoo!
02:23Jesus Christ.
02:25Oh, my God.
02:28Awesome job, eh?
02:30Thanks.
02:30You can relax, Brad.
02:32He's done it.
02:34Okay.
02:35Thanks.
02:35Hugh?
02:36Yeah, Hugh.
02:37Barney, nice to meet you, Hugh.
02:38Oh, yes.
02:39This guy's called Hugh, too.
02:41I'm seriously not sure about this, Hugh.
02:44I think the best advice I can give Brad is don't look down, maybe?
02:51Oh, God.
02:54He'll do it.
02:55He'll do it.
02:56I'm proud of him for doing stuff like this, you know.
02:59You're doing great, Dad.
03:01But these don't move.
03:02These stay static, don't they?
03:03That's right, yeah.
03:03Right, and my hands just go along with my body?
03:06Yep.
03:07All right, okay.
03:08Not a fan of heights.
03:09No, he's not.
03:11I'd really, really tell you, guys, I really don't want to do this.
03:14Dad, you can do it.
03:15No, I can't.
03:15I don't want to do it, Barnes.
03:16Please don't do none of that for me.
03:18Well, you can do it.
03:19You can.
03:20What did I just tell him?
03:21Didn't I just tell him?
03:24He loves it, really.
03:26Slide yourself down so your feet are on that ledge.
03:29Excellent.
03:30You can do it.
03:31I really don't want to, though.
03:33I really don't want to do it.
03:35You can do it.
03:36Do it.
03:37Please, God.
03:40You can shuffle a little bit toward the edge.
03:46Nice.
03:47Okay, here he goes.
03:49You doing it?
03:50Yeah, doing great.
03:50Yes!
03:51Nice.
03:53Wow.
03:59Go on, Dad.
04:06You've got it.
04:09You've got it.
04:14You've got it.
04:15Yes!
04:21Oh, God.
04:25Flawless work.
04:27Fantastic, mate.
04:28You did it.
04:29That was amazing.
04:30How do you feel, Dad?
04:31F***ing awful.
04:32You smashed it.
04:33You smashed it.
04:35Oh, Jesus Christ.
04:38You all right?
04:39Good.
04:39Hey, Hugh.
04:40Lovely to meet you, mate.
04:41Yeah, lovely to meet you too, man.
04:42You come over this way for us, please.
04:44That's it.
04:45Well done.
04:45You're in.
04:46Give me a hug.
04:48Well done, Dad.
04:49Well done.
04:49I feel good, mate.
04:50Well done.
04:50I actually don't feel very well.
04:52You managed it.
04:53That was good.
04:54You did really well.
04:58Okay.
04:58What have we got to do now?
05:00Now we've got to go back.
05:03Oh, f***ing sake.
05:03No, I'm joking.
05:04I'm joking.
05:04We don't.
05:05We don't.
05:05We'll climb up the rocks.
05:06We don't have to go back.
05:07I'm so sorry.
05:09I've got to sit down.
05:10I've got to sit down.
05:11Go and have a seat.
05:13Oh, Jesus.
05:16You okay?
05:17I'm shaking, man.
05:18I'm shaking.
05:18I know, I know.
05:20The wind and the rain and the mist.
05:22Oh, Christ.
05:23It's like a horror movie.
05:24It is like a horror movie.
05:25Oh, dear.
05:26Cup of tea, I think.
05:27Yeah, cup of tea.
05:28Yeah?
05:28Let's get out the Blue Mountains.
05:29Yeah.
05:38With a well-earned cuppa inside them, Brad and Barney are back on the road and everything
05:43feels brighter.
05:44This is great.
05:45I've got my sunglasses on and I'm loving this.
05:48The warmth is back.
05:50We're out of the mist.
05:51Don't tell me what we're going to do because I'm in a good mood.
05:53Okay.
05:54Don't ruin it.
05:54I won't tell you, yeah.
05:54Put on a banger, Barnes.
05:56Dan Hartman Instant Replay.
05:58Got it?
06:09This is the energy boost the boys need as they head into the Australian countryside on a 400-mile
06:16drive north to the town of Inveral through the state of New South Wales.
06:20So-called because when Captain James Cook arrived in 1770, he thought it looked a bit like Wales.
06:27Less so now, I'd imagine.
06:29So, yeah.
06:30New South Wales.
06:31Yes.
06:31Obviously, you can see it's a lot of farmland.
06:33But do you know what New South Wales is famous for?
06:37Sheep.
06:38Sheep.
06:39Why isn't one sheep a shoep?
06:42What?
06:43Well, sheep sounds like the pluralisation of a word shoep.
06:48So, if you had one shoep, you'd have two shoeps with three sheeps.
06:52Shoep and sheeps.
06:54Okay.
06:54Fair enough.
06:55It's funny you're talking about sheep because it lines up quite nicely with what we're about
06:59to do today.
07:01Oh, okay.
07:02Yeah.
07:02We're going to go see some competitive sheep shearers.
07:04Right.
07:05What do you reckon the quickest time someone's ever sheared a sheep?
07:08Five minutes.
07:10Fourteen seconds.
07:12Don't be ridiculous.
07:13How big's the sheep?
07:14Size of a cat?
07:15You're having a laugh, aren't you?
07:17His name was David Fargar.
07:19Make a pardon?
07:20He's a Kiwi.
07:21His name was David what?
07:23David Fargar.
07:23He's a quick Fargar, isn't he?
07:25Very quick.
07:26Does he come from a long line of Fargas?
07:30Behave, Bradley.
07:31Sheep shearing round these parts is serious business.
07:37One shoep, I mean sheep, can produce an average of four and a half kilograms of wool.
07:43That's roughly six jumpers.
07:44Look at this.
07:46Wow.
07:47Hey guys.
07:48And to get a flavour of how it's done, they're here to help out some shearing experts in the sheep
07:53farming heartland of New South Wales.
07:58That's a funny old laugh, isn't it?
07:59No pressure gents, but these guys are some of the best in the business.
08:04Look at this.
08:06Wow.
08:07That's amazing.
08:09Hello.
08:10Hi.
08:10Coming to see a bit of sheep shearing?
08:12Yeah, absolutely.
08:13That's fascinating, isn't it?
08:14It is, yeah.
08:15Brad and Barney are meeting Stephen, Peter, Sarah and Melanie, who run an annual sheep shearing competition for charity.
08:22You guys shear sheep competitively, is that right?
08:25Yeah, when it's on season.
08:27Yeah, I can see on your tops it says Sapphire Speed Shear.
08:30How did the club get started?
08:31So, we lost our nephew back in 24 to mental health and suicide.
08:38Right.
08:39So, we started this to raise money for mental health and, yeah, we donated $11,750 to Senacare, who is
08:48a local mental health supporter.
08:50That's brilliant.
08:51That is great.
08:52Yeah.
08:52That is great.
08:53So it's pretty close to our heart.
08:54You can have a go at doing one if you like.
08:56What would we need to do to do that?
08:57You probably need to look like these guys.
08:59Yeah.
08:59Okay.
09:00Not sure a costume change will pull the wool over the eyes of this lad.
09:05Yep.
09:06Muddmine dressed as lamb.
09:08So, do you want to show us what to do then, gentlemen?
09:10Yeah.
09:10Okay.
09:11Jump up and...
09:12When you say jump up, what do you mean?
09:13Yeah, jump up.
09:14Jump up.
09:15I'll be using the stairs.
09:17Have no fear of that.
09:18Jump.
09:19I don't jump anywhere.
09:20I'm 65.
09:21There was a bloke 65 shearing next to me the other day.
09:23He jumped up.
09:25Cut that bit out.
09:27Good luck.
09:28Yeah, good luck.
09:28Right.
09:29Okay.
09:30I've got you the little one.
09:31Okay.
09:32So I'll do the first little bit.
09:34Yep.
09:34Once it's laying down flat, I'll give you a go.
09:39Before the competitive shearing commences, Brad and Barney are going to need to be guided
09:43through the basics.
09:45Don't look so worried.
09:46Like how to avoid nicking their skin with the clippers and hold them still using just
09:51your legs.
09:52You make it look so easy.
09:54That's how it is.
09:54If you want to lock your left foot in under that sheep's shoulder.
09:58Let's go like this.
09:59Yep.
09:59And I'm going to hold on over the top of your hand.
10:01Okay.
10:02Have it that way.
10:06There you go.
10:07That's all in one go.
10:10Pat, you pull that cord.
10:12That is hard, isn't it?
10:13Yeah, it's really hard.
10:15You ready for a go?
10:17Okay, here we go.
10:17There's no wrestling with them.
10:19You want to dance with them.
10:20Do not want to force them into anything.
10:21No.
10:21Because they will get angry very quick.
10:24Okay, well definitely don't tell them one of your jokes, Brad.
10:27Now you want to hold it between the eyes and the ears if you can.
10:33Yeah, all the way back, right through its head.
10:40Wow, he's doing fantastic, Brad.
10:41Can you all step him back a little bit?
10:42He is, isn't he?
10:43Well, who would have thought Bradley Walsh has an untapped talent for sheep shearing?
10:46Is there nothing this man can't do?
10:48Apart from concentrate with his tongue in his mouth.
10:52I think your dad's got you.
10:56That easy.
10:57Wow.
10:59Look at the state of it.
11:01That was actually a very good job.
11:03Thank you very much.
11:04Yeah, well done.
11:05Are you sure you haven't done that before?
11:06No, no, and I was very, very nervous when I was doing that.
11:09Yeah, me too.
11:09The coordination is really tricky.
11:11They've got to lay there willingly because they can just completely annihilate everything on you.
11:16Yeah.
11:17And these are babies.
11:18These are three to four months old.
11:20So what do we do now?
11:21If you want to team up with me and you team up with Steve and we'll have a bit of
11:26a race.
11:26Competition?
11:27Yeah.
11:27I think I've already lost.
11:28You look brilliant at that, to be fair.
11:30Thanks, mate.
11:31I think you're right.
11:32Yeah.
11:33Come on, Steve.
11:34Over here, cockles.
11:34The rules for this one are pretty straightforward.
11:37The professionals start before their less professional teammates tag in.
11:41That's the key to competition.
11:43Don't shake hands.
11:43Come on.
11:44All right, boys.
11:45We've got our judge here that's going to judge how clean you can shear a sheath.
11:49It's the great British shave off.
11:52On your marks, get shaved.
11:53One, two, three, go.
11:59You ready, Barney?
12:01Yeah, that sheet looks like it wants to kill me.
12:04Amazing.
12:05Majestic, Steve.
12:07It's a tag team.
12:09Okay.
12:10The smart money's on team Brad.
12:12The pressure's on, Barney.
12:13Shear like you've never shone before.
12:15Which, you haven't.
12:16It's in there now.
12:23It's a good face.
12:24It's a good face.
12:26It's a good face.
12:27It's a good face.
12:28It's a good face.
12:30It's a good face.
12:30It's a good face.
12:32It's a good face.
12:33It's a good face.
12:34It's a good face.
12:35Well, mine looks like he's been for a fight with a lawn mower.
12:40Where's your sheep?
12:41It's gone.
12:41You've sorted it out.
12:42You've done it already?
12:44Judge Aaron has been monitoring their efforts closely and although speed is key
12:49ultimately it's the quality of the ship is crucial I think the better Sean
12:56shape was Barney it's an upset for the ages there is our trophy you didn't say
13:07was a prize Wow brilliant mate it's great I love it I tell you what if people watch
13:12this they have no idea how tricky that is yeah that was hard it is actually rated as

14:19drives a mere 220 miles so just down the road for most Aussies we're leaving New South Wales
14:27right we're heading into Queensland now okay Queensland is Australia's second largest state
14:33it's more than twice the size of Texas and seven times larger than the UK wow so what does that
14:40mean
14:40New South Wales to Queensland different time zone would you mean a different time zone it's
14:45directly north how could it be a different time zone yeah we've gone an hour back we're going
14:49north and yet I'm going back an hour I don't feel any different do I look younger no unfortunately
14:57not right so Barnes where we go mate okay we're now going to a place called Thalon and what's in
