00:00really impressive for San Antonio to flip this series after losing game one
00:05in the way they did.
00:06And it really, let me speak first from a coach for a referee angle
00:12in regards to the goaltenders.
00:15You have three officials, right?
00:17You have the baseline one, you have the trail,
00:20and then we have what we call the C, who is the middle guy.
00:23The C guy's got to be the one that really has got to watch the goaltending
00:29because when you're under the basket, Kevin, you don't have the vantage point, right?
00:33When you're the trail, it's too far away.
00:35They have to make sure whoever's in the C is in good enough position to call it.
00:40And honestly, I think about Patrick Ewing,
00:45and I'm going to go back because I'm a lot older than you,
00:47but in the 82 national championship game versus North Carolina,
00:54John Thompson said, whatever they throw up, throw it back.
00:58Throw it back.
01:00And if people remember, I think Ewing got like four or five goaltends
01:03in the first four or five minutes.
01:06And I would say probably four of them were legit.
01:10And there was a point being made.
01:12I can tell you this is a big man.
01:13People don't talk about goaltending.
01:16They're talking about their shot getting blocked.
01:18So he's making another point that whether this is a goaltend or not,
01:22it's completely changing the offensive thought of Minnesota to the point where
01:28we're like, well, we're going to drive it.
01:30He's either going to alter it, block it, or he may block it.
01:34There'll be a goaltend, and he still may not call it.
01:36So now you're all out of sorts.
01:38So I think that is what it's done.
01:40So to me, if you want to call the goaltends,
01:43maybe you call them a little bit more early,
01:45and you can always review them if a team wants to contest it and go from there.
01:49Now let's get to the game.
01:51They won two games two different ways.
01:54Game two, they blew their doors off.
01:59But game number three, Champagny, who's been really good, 2 of 7.
02:03De'Aaron Fox, 7 out of 19.
02:05Stephon Castle, 3 out of 11.
02:08They just grinded it down.
02:09And Victor Webinyama was Victor Webinyama.
02:12And that's what makes San Antonio dangerous.
02:15Dangerous, like a, almost like an Oklahoma City.
02:20They can get you by the sum of their parts,
02:22or they can get you by their big.
02:26You've got to pick one.
02:27Now, you did one really well in regards to shutting everybody else off.
02:31But when you have Webinyama give you, what did he give you, 39 and 15?
02:37Unless you're scoring enough, which you can't,
02:40that's not enough to justify getting the win.
02:44I got it.
02:47Just to your initial point about throwing guys off,
02:51and I don't want to pick on this guy,
02:54because he's had, like, this up-and-down career,
02:57but he's found himself a home in Minnesota.
03:00Julius Randle has been put in a blender by just Wemby existing.
03:09He is passing out of driving lanes that Julius Randle never passes out of, ever.
03:18And the few times he's willing to take the layup, he's overshooting it.
03:23He's under, like, Julius Randle had,
03:27and this is where, like, sometimes a guy like Wemby comes along, right?
03:33Or guys even like Gobert on his own team.
03:37Just their presence alters everything.
03:42And that's what's going on right now for Julius Randle,
03:46who is as uncomfortable as you'll ever see Julius Randle be inside the paint,
03:52a place he loves to live.
03:54Get big and let people know I'm here.
03:56And he can't do it right now.
03:58What was very interesting was to see Ant finally get the start
04:01and deliver 32 points in 41 minutes.
04:06Just kind of, you know, keep it pushing.
04:08I think what's difficult for, you know, the way this series is set up right now,
04:14and I think most people would agree with this,
04:16is just the swing of game four.
04:19If the Wolves win, okay, we've got something here, right?
04:23This thing may go seven.
04:25If the Spurs win game four, everybody's thought it'd be this thing is over,
04:29and it'll be over in five.
04:31And if you are Minnesota, if I'm being honest,
04:39I don't, while losing in five would be super frustrating
04:42because you took game number one,
04:44I don't see any real pathway as somebody who bet Minnesota before the season
04:48to win the title,
04:49I don't see any pathway for Minnesota to win next round, okay,
04:53win the title.
04:53I don't see that.
04:55For the Spurs, though, JY,
04:57getting out of here in five,
04:59when your counterpart in the Thunder, okay,
05:04most people think won't even play a fifth game,
05:07I just think there's got to be a level of urgency from the Spurs.
05:13Now, it doesn't mean it's a disaster if they drop game four, right?
05:17But I think there has to be a level of urgency from this team on Sunday.
