00:00:50in last year's hearings, Luke Jacoby has been released from prison and given a new identity in order to protect
00:00:56him from the underworld chieftains his testimony helped indict.
00:00:58According to sources in the FBI, the information Jacoby gave on organized crime dealt a severe setback to mob activities.
00:01:06Authorities would not reveal any other information about the new life of Luke Jacoby.
00:01:10However, they did say that everything possible had been done to protect him from retaliation and they expected no problems.
00:01:17Vice President Nixon is in Boston today to speak to the National Convention of the American Legion.

00:02:30I think if we can dump them there, no one will see us.
00:02:33We should get there just after daybreak.
00:02:35And don't fall asleep.
00:02:40Find a secluded place, we'll pull over.
00:02:41Put some chains on him. That'll keep him down for a long time.

00:12:13I've lined up a couple of girls to say here for us when they call roll tomorrow.
00:12:18I don't believe you.
00:12:21Hey, you know what?
00:12:22What?
00:12:23I think Eddie's kind of cute.
00:12:25I think I'm going to like that character.
00:12:28But remember, you have to watch out for those upperclassmen.
00:12:31Oh, I know that.
00:12:32So just act nice.
00:12:34Be yourself.
00:12:35And don't make any sudden moves.
00:12:37We don't want to scare these two off right away.
00:12:39Look, just let me take the initiative when we first get there.
00:12:42And I'll have you sitting pretty in no time.
00:12:44Yeah, sure, Eddie.
00:12:49Hey, just what's so interesting out the window, anyway?
00:12:53Hey, you can't see the Kai Omega girls in dressing, can you?
00:12:56No, Eddie, you can't.
00:12:59As a matter of fact, I was looking for something a little more significant than that.
00:13:03What could be more significant than that?
00:13:07UFOs, my boy.
00:13:09UFOs.
00:13:10UFOs.
00:13:11Yeah, that's right.
00:13:15I've been holding my own little vigil every night.
00:13:17You know, I think there may be something to those things.
00:13:23Although I've yet to spot one myself.
00:13:25Well, of course you've yet to spot one.
00:13:27What do you think, they're going to come down with horns honking
00:13:29and Saturn airways emblazoned on the side?
00:13:32Come on now, get to bed.
00:13:34You need all the energy you've got tomorrow.
00:13:36Tomorrow.
00:13:49Good night, Eddie.
00:13:51Good night.
00:13:53Good night.
00:13:54Why are you so?
00:13:56Air, air, air, air, air, air!
00:14:01Fire, air!
00:14:11THE END
00:14:36THE END
00:15:07THE END
00:15:10You win it, ain't you?
00:15:36I'll open.
00:15:41Come in.
00:15:49And the dealer...
00:15:51...stands past.
00:15:53You'll do what you like.
00:16:10See that?
00:16:11Man up here.
00:16:24Yeah?
00:16:27All right.
00:16:28Everything's been quiet.
00:16:30What?
00:16:32Yeah, he's here.
00:16:35Right.
00:16:45All right, Billy.
00:16:45Here.
00:16:47Okay.
00:16:55What's up?
00:17:05What?
00:17:06Did you look at my car?
00:17:07Yeah, yeah.
00:17:09Promise.
00:17:11I don't know.
00:17:20I don't know.
00:17:21Let's see him.
00:17:23Who does?
00:17:32I don't know.
00:17:33Turn it over.
00:17:34Why don't you turn it off?
00:17:47You're not the one.
00:17:49No, no, no.
00:17:50You're not the one.
00:17:52Yeah, yeah.
00:18:00You're not the one.
00:18:01I don't know.
00:18:04That's why you're not the one.
00:18:16No, no, no, no.
00:18:55Bill, run a check on these two as soon as you can.
00:18:57Let me know what you come up with.
00:18:59Yes, sir.
00:19:05Mike, what's this look like to you?
00:19:08It's hard to tell, Larry.
00:19:09Everything adds up.
00:19:11Almost.
00:19:13Obviously, the struggle took place.
00:19:15Several shots were fired, which account for the bullet holes all over the place.
00:19:20Look at that door.
00:19:23One thing has me puzzled, though.
00:19:24What's that?
00:19:26It's right here.
00:19:31It appears to be slime of some sort.
00:19:34Very promising.
00:19:37The question is...
00:19:40For what?
00:19:43I've got the lab boys working on it now.
00:19:45It should prove interesting.
00:19:47Bobby?
00:19:48Yes, sir.
00:19:49Get a shot of this, will you?
00:19:50Yes, sir.
00:20:24Yeah!
00:20:25Oh, damn it!
00:20:27Beautiful!
00:20:28Liz!
00:20:29Isn't it neat?
00:20:32See, we're gonna go for a swim before we eat.
00:20:34Would you guys care to join us?
00:20:35No, thanks.
00:20:36We'll swim later.
00:20:37See it yourself.
00:20:38Bye.
00:20:49I swear they're both insane.
00:20:50But they do make a nice couple.
00:20:52Yeah, they do.
00:20:53Which is surprising, considering Eddie.
00:20:56Come on.
00:21:06I lost my ship!
00:21:08They came out!
00:21:13I think they're nuts!
00:21:20Ah!
00:21:23They're sleeping.
00:21:24They're sleeping.
00:21:25They're sleeping.
00:21:27Ah!
00:21:29Great.
00:21:33You know, I'm really glad you came here today.
00:21:36It's very nice.
00:21:37And relaxing.
00:21:38You know, good for those mental blocks.
00:21:43Didn't buy it, huh?
00:21:45Of course not.
00:21:46I just don't know why, boys.
00:21:48Take the time to think up silly things like that.
00:21:50Why can't they just come out and say what they mean to say?
00:21:54You know, it's hard sometimes.
00:21:57But I am glad you came today.
00:21:59And yes, I meant that.
00:22:10Let me compliment you, my dear, on your culinary dexterity.
00:22:14Oh, thank you, Edward.
00:22:19Of course, it is hard to screw up a chicken salad sandwich.
00:22:23Get out of here!
00:22:25Hey, uh, I think we'll go for a walk now.
00:22:28We'll go for a walk now to digest our meal.
00:22:32See ya.
00:22:33Bye.
00:22:34Bye.
00:22:34Bye.
00:22:34Bye.
00:22:36Bye.
00:22:37Bye.
00:22:42Bye.
00:22:46Bye.
00:22:48Bye.
00:23:07Oh, my God, look at this.
00:23:28Oh, my God.
00:23:34Oh!
00:23:43Eddie, stop it!
00:23:45You said you wanted to go for a swim, so let's swim!
00:23:54Are you all right?
00:23:56Yes.
00:23:57I'm fine.
00:24:01Hey.
00:24:05Look at this.
00:24:09Ronnie!
00:24:11Ronnie!
00:24:13Ronnie!
00:24:15What is it?
00:24:17Come here, will ya?
00:24:18What for?
00:24:20Because I want to show you something.
00:24:23Show me what?
00:24:24Come here and you'll find out.
00:24:28What are you supposed to want?
00:24:30Who knows?
00:24:31He's probably discovered a new bird he thinks ought of on this.
00:24:38Have you ever seen anything like it?
00:24:41No.
00:24:43Gee, it sure is pretty, though.
00:24:46Yeah, but look at it.
00:24:48Hey, I wonder if it's a precious stone.
00:24:51Why be?
00:24:52What if?
00:24:54I wonder if Ronnie would know anything.
00:24:56Yes, Eddie, what is it now?
00:24:59Take a look at this.
00:25:02This is weird looking.
00:25:03Where'd you find it?
00:25:04Right here.
00:25:05Look, there's pieces of it all over the place.
00:25:09I can't say that I've ever seen anything like it before.
00:25:13I'll tell you what.
00:25:14Let's take these back and show them to Professor Bartholomew, and maybe he'll know what they are.
00:25:19Good idea.
00:25:20It's getting late.
00:25:21We better start back now.
00:25:57Come in.
00:26:04Well, good afternoon, gentlemen.
00:26:05Mr. McGuire and Mr. Newton, I believe.
00:26:09Yes, sir.
00:26:09Yes, sir.
00:26:10We're sorry to bother you.
00:26:11I know you've got a thousand things to do, but...
00:26:13No.
00:26:13No bother.
00:26:14What can I do for you?
00:26:15Well, Eddie and I were out swimming at Miller's Lake this afternoon, and we found some very unusual rock specimens.
00:26:22We thought maybe since you're an authority on geology, you'd like to see some of them, and maybe you can
00:26:27tell us what they are.
00:26:29Eddie, show them the rock.
00:26:34Mmm.
00:26:36An interesting rock.
00:26:40It looks a little bit like turquoise, doesn't it?
00:26:43Yes, sir.
00:26:44That's what I thought at first, too.
00:26:46But as I was pointing out to Ronald here earlier, if you look a bit closer, it's really nothing like
00:26:51it at all.
00:26:52I know that.
00:26:54Besides, we must have to consider that turquoise is not found in this region.
00:27:00Where did you find it?
00:27:01Miller's Lake.
00:27:03If we went up there tomorrow afternoon, would you be good enough to show me exactly where this rock was
00:27:08spotted?
00:27:09Yes, sir. Sure.
00:27:10Good.
00:27:11Then I'll meet you here tomorrow afternoon, say, uh, one o'clock.
00:27:14Perfect.
00:27:15Fine.
00:27:16Thank you, gentlemen, for dropping by.
00:27:18We'll see you tomorrow afternoon.
00:27:20Right.
00:27:23Come on, we got an A in the bag.
00:27:35Please, get out of my life.
00:27:40Nice rock.
00:27:54today sure was a great day to spend at the lake wasn't it it sure was and those chicken
00:27:59salad sandwiches you made were really good thank you eddie sure gave me a hard enough
00:28:04time about them though hello no we haven't forgotten yes we'll both be there no we
00:28:19haven't chickened out all right goodbye who's that that was miss Abigail Riley she
00:28:30called to remind us that kind of make initiations less than a week away oh brothers if we didn't
00:28:36know and are we still game although I must admit I am beginning to have second thoughts
00:28:47how come oh I don't know can't say that spending the night in some creepy old Victorian mansion
00:28:55it's reputed to be haunted it's my idea one swinging evening oh come on it'll be fun
00:29:02besides we'll have at least 10 other girls as company I know that's what scares me
00:29:28is this the spot oh no sir it's a little bit further down the lake it's kind of steep to
00:29:34go down this
00:29:35way so why don't we take that path through the trees sorry this is it it's right over here
00:30:05it's pretty rough terrain just for an old fellow
00:30:08haha
00:30:08haha
00:30:08haha
00:30:08haha
00:30:08haha

00:30:15haha
00:30:24haha
00:30:52I'm very good at this sort of thing.
00:30:54But this is it, Professor. This is the exact spy.
00:30:57Yeah, I know. It looks sharp. This may be it, all right.
00:31:01Watch the step there.
00:31:02Hold on.
00:31:02Yeah, I got it now.
00:31:06Yeah.
00:31:07See, look.
00:31:09There's pieces of the rock all over.
00:31:11Yeah.
00:31:15There's more here than there was the other day.
00:31:23Pull that coat.
00:31:31What are you doing, Professor?
00:31:33I'm gonna wade right out there, explore around a little bit.
00:31:37My instinct tells me it's right out there.
00:31:41Well, look, there's no reason why you should have to do that.
00:31:44I mean, after all, we brought you out here.
00:31:47Eddie and I'll go in the water for you,
00:31:49and you can kind of just guide us around.
00:31:51Good idea. Good.
00:31:55Newton, don't just sit there. Take your shirt off.
00:32:18This way?
00:32:21In there.
00:32:22Oh, it's cold.
00:32:23Some place.
00:32:32Feel anything?
00:32:42Hey, I think I feel something.
00:32:44What did you last find?
00:32:47I'm not sure, Professor. It's something large.
00:32:50It's right underneath us.
00:32:51Eddie and I'll try to look it out.
00:32:53You got it?
00:33:07What in the world?
00:33:09No, gentlemen, not of this world.
00:33:11I give you the mother stone of the fragments you brought me.
00:33:14Besides that, what you're holding right there is hopefully a true meteorite.
00:33:21A meteorite?
00:33:22Right.
00:33:24Of course, I have to make a few more tests on the thing, but, uh, Mr. Maguire, I think you
00:33:28can safely say now that you have got your UFO.
00:33:32Wow!
00:33:33Of a sort.
00:33:34Put it up here on the shore, so I can examine it a little closer.
00:33:40I've heard a rock here.
00:33:42Shut up, Newton, and keep lifting.
00:33:50It's a little heavier than I expected.
00:33:52I'm sure.
00:33:52I'm sure it was.
00:33:53But the toughest part, we still have to go.
00:33:56We've got to get this thing into the car.
00:34:04Come on.
00:34:06Come on.
00:34:20Let's go.
00:34:45Let's go.
00:35:14Let's go.

00:39:06Let's go.
00:41:39Yes, I am, but...
00:41:40I'm Mike Kelly. How are you?
00:41:41I'm sorry to get you out this time of night, sir, but as you can see, we're going to need
00:41:44your help with some facts.
00:41:48Professor, what was in here that would cause a person to...
00:41:51It wasn't a person.
00:41:52We'll determine that later.
00:41:53That would cause a person to not only break in, but to jump three stories to get out of here.
00:42:00Nothing that I can think of.
00:42:02Nothing that I can think of.
00:42:03The meteorite.
00:42:04The meteorite.
00:42:05The meteorite!
00:42:29The what?
00:42:29I've got a meteorite.
00:42:29I'm going to do experiments to find out the exact species and possibly even the origin.
00:42:34What precisely is a meteorite?
00:42:37Oh, well, to put it as simply as I can, it's a meteor that has made its way through the
00:42:43Earth's atmosphere and struck her surface.
00:42:47Here, let's show you a picture of it. This will give you a better idea.
00:42:51Now, a meteorite, or I should say a meteor, is a stone and metal or both
00:42:59that have been possibly
00:43:03ejected from a comet, or perhaps produced by a collision of asteroids.
00:43:07You see, we know that asteroids in the past have collided by the debris
00:43:11that we still see nowadays, and sometimes these fragments are deflected by
00:43:14Mars, the fall of the Earth, as meteorites. How often does this happen?
00:43:19Oh, you might say maybe two, three, four times
00:43:23an object of twenty pounds or over will fall during the course
00:43:27of a day. How much did this one weigh? Oh, this one was between forty
00:43:30and fifty pounds. Really? It was a big one.
00:43:34How did you know it was a true meteorite? Well, by the metal. You see, some meteorites now,
00:43:38they're simply stony, crusted, well, just black
00:43:42crust, and then the others are more metallic, you know. Some of them are metallic,
00:43:47and it's a fusion, or an alloy, I should say,
00:43:51of nickel and iron. As a matter of fact,
00:43:55the iron eventually becomes like a nickel steel,
00:43:59which is something that would never happen naturally on Earth,
00:44:02and it has never been investigated or imitated by industry.
00:44:07Well, that's very interesting, Professor. The question is,
00:44:12who would want a fifty pound meteorite, and for what purpose?
00:44:16Maybe somebody would want it for a paperweight.
00:44:19Oh, my God.
00:44:34Which leads us to this.
00:44:37Hey, wait a minute. Isn't that that same stuff that was found in that warehouse
00:44:42where the two guys were killed? Yes, it was.
00:44:44Now, our lab boys have run a test and have come up with absolutely nothing.
00:44:49They claim it's not catalogued,
00:44:52that its components have never been studied before.
00:44:54Nevertheless, there's a direct correlation between that case and this.
00:44:58The same destruction of property,
00:45:00the same traces of slime at the scene,
00:45:03and the same factor of the suspect being able to escape even though being fired on it.
00:45:08and the top matter is off now a damn meteorite.
00:45:13Well, it's not going to be easy disguising a fifty pound chunk of slime.
00:45:18We'll get it.
00:45:45We'll get it.
00:45:54We'll get it.
00:45:58Hi Debs, Sam.
00:46:01Uh, shh.
00:46:03I just about given up on you.
00:46:04I'm so sorry. I didn't think that stupid decorations committee meeting was ever going to end.
00:46:10Where's your fine arts project coming?
00:46:13Slow. I'm swamped.
00:46:15Hey, have I got something to show you?
00:46:17What?
00:46:18Just wait.
00:46:19Let's see.
00:46:25Look.
00:46:26Oh, Sal. That's beautiful.
00:46:30Where did you get it?
00:46:32From of all people, Eddie.
00:46:35Eddie?
00:46:37I just couldn't believe it. Wasn't that sweet of him?
00:46:40Uh-huh.
00:46:41What type of stone is that?
00:46:43I don't know.
00:46:44It was a piece of one of those rocks Eddie discovered out by the lake the other day. Remember?
00:46:49Yeah.
00:46:50Well, anyway, those rocks were a part of a meteorite that hit by the lake.
00:46:56No kidding.
00:46:57Yeah.
00:46:58Sure is beautiful.
00:46:59Hey, listen.
00:47:01Anytime you want to wear it, you're welcome to it.
00:47:03Don't even bother to ask. Just help yourself.
00:47:06No, really. I couldn't.
00:47:08What do you mean you couldn't? I'm wearing half your clothes as it is now.
00:47:13Besides,
00:47:15you know,
00:47:16I think it would look swanky with your new green outfit.
00:47:19I am tempted.
00:47:22It's so pretty, it's irresistible.
00:47:24Shh.
00:47:49It's catchy.
00:47:51For real.
00:47:58Wow, I haven't had a workout like that since Saturday night.
00:48:02Who was she?
00:48:03Your sister.
00:48:07Hey, speaking of Saturday night,
00:48:11this weekend the Chi Omega girls are having their initiation,
00:48:14which involves Debbie and Sally.
00:48:16And they're spending the night, get this,
00:48:19in the haunted mansion down on South Street.
00:48:22No lie?
00:48:23God, you'd be hard-pressed to get even me to do that.
00:48:26Well, you're practically going to.
00:48:28Newton, what are you talking about?
00:48:31Okay, look, everybody's heard about all those ghost tales surrounding that place.
00:48:35You know about that family in the 1800s,
00:48:37when the whole family goes mysteriously insane,
00:48:40and the wife supposedly is in the halls carrying her head.
00:48:45Well, don't you guys see what a beautiful opportunity this is?
00:48:48For what?
00:48:51Look, I figure we plan a raid on the place at midnight.
00:48:56For a raid, all right, let's make it on panties.
00:48:58You're as panty as he is.
00:49:01Okay, look, I figure.
00:49:06Hey, what's eating at you, Wisdom?
00:49:09I was just thinking about the girl spending the night in that old house.
00:49:13That place has been abandoned a long time.
00:49:16Some of the floors might be rotten or weak.
00:49:19Relax.
00:49:20Nothing's going to happen.
00:49:22Look, let's just run by there and poke around for a while.
00:49:28Okay, I think you're wasting your time.
00:49:32This place is creepy even in the daytime.
00:49:36For sure.
00:49:37Maybe we should have brought some wooden stakes and crosses.
00:49:40Yeah, this place looks like the dorms on weekends.
00:49:45These people really need to talk to their help.
00:49:48Yeah, yeah.
00:49:49But this place is really spooky at night.
00:49:53Hey, hey, look at this neat clock.
00:49:56Let's take it.
00:49:58Hey, Eddie, leave it alone.
00:49:59All this stuff still belongs to somebody.
00:50:02I still can't believe we haven't found any old muscatel bottles.
00:50:07I wonder why people always think of these old houses as being haunted.
00:50:11They're just old.
00:50:13And this one's in pretty good shape.
00:50:15I told you, you didn't have anything to worry about.
00:50:18Yeah, I guess you're right.
00:50:24It figures.
00:50:26A case of a bulb snatcher strikes again.
00:50:29Eddie.
00:50:30Eddie.
00:50:31Eddie, get down.
00:50:34A police car just drove by.
00:50:36Oh.
00:50:38The cops are tailoring us.
00:50:40Come off it, man.
00:50:40We've got to clear out of here.
00:50:42Okay, let's hoof it.
00:50:43You cover me.
00:50:44Oh, my God.
00:50:45Oh, my God.
00:50:48Oh, my God.
00:51:32Alive
00:51:33You make me feel alive
00:51:42I never knew what they were
00:51:45Eddie, do you love me?
00:51:48Say you do, Eddie. Say you'll love me.
00:51:51Yeah, sure, baby.
00:51:54A little less chatter, okay?
00:52:07Oh, Eddie, take me now.
00:52:11Turn loose a sec, will you?
00:52:13Hey, turn loose.
00:52:15Eddie, I'm ready.
00:52:17No, I'm not.
00:52:18I better go to the bathroom.
00:52:21Eddie, can't it wait?
00:52:22No, it can't.
00:52:24Can't it wait?
00:52:25No, it can't.
00:52:26You just touched my fingertips
00:52:33And made my heart beat again
00:52:40Oh, then you touched my waiting lips
00:52:46And I knew how to feel
00:52:51Ah, actually you
00:52:52Here I am
00:52:53Yes
00:52:58Ah, hey!
00:53:07Ah, ah, hey!
00:53:24What is this?
00:53:26What is this?
00:53:33What is this?
00:53:43What is this?
00:53:44What is this?
00:53:46Come on, don't fail me now.
00:54:06Oh, you had to play the radio all night, didn't you?
00:54:10Come on!
00:54:15Come on!
00:54:28They're not going to believe...
00:54:29Sally, come on, you're coming with me.
00:54:32Come on.
00:54:33Sally, I'm going to need you as a backup.
00:54:36Come on!
00:54:45Who's in charge here?
00:54:46Sergeant.
00:54:48Call out the Marines!
00:54:49What?
00:54:50They're trying to bring some of those hitting tank guns they have.
00:54:52Just hold it, let's just hold it.
00:54:55Let's see some of those big mean dogs.
00:54:57Just a minute, just settle down.
00:54:59No, wait a second, there isn't time!
00:55:01Don't you see?
00:55:02We haven't got enough time, that thing's still loose out there!
00:55:04Still out there, loose?
00:55:07Miss, let's get this straight, please.
00:55:10All right, both of you on some kind of...
00:55:12Oh, sir!
00:55:14We just saw some thing on a miller's lake.
00:55:16Thing?
00:55:17What kind of thing?
00:55:19I don't know exactly!
00:55:21He wasn't human, I know that for sure!
00:55:23That son of a bitch, he stood as tall as a skyscraper!
00:55:26And when I saw those flames shoot out...
00:55:28Hey!
00:55:29Come, Dad.
00:55:30Let's try and get straight with a few facts we have.
00:55:33Look, Officer, I know this all sounds crazy, but I'm telling you, it's what we saw!
00:55:38It was a creature of some kind, like something not of this world!
00:55:44It...
00:55:45It had a human form!
00:55:47It had a head, two arms, two legs...
00:55:51Well, you know!
00:55:52But it was covered with some horrible outer greenish layer!
00:55:59Okay, I'll try one.
00:56:00This, uh, thing, this, uh...
00:56:02Did it mention where he was from or where he was going?
00:56:05Listen, Dick Tracy!
00:56:07That thing tried to kill us!
00:56:08All right, Hot Rod.
00:56:09Just relax.
00:56:13Hey, Mike, I've got a young couple out here I think you're gonna enjoy talking to.
00:56:17Where we at, Mark?
00:56:19Just routine.
00:56:21Space monster on the loose.
00:56:23Come on, Frank, I'm busy. I got a million and one things from this.
00:56:25I'm serious, that's their story.
00:56:28I'm curious, though.
00:56:29Suppose we corner the monster.
00:56:31Do we still have to read him his rights, and, uh, who speaks monster around here?
00:56:35This way, please.
00:56:56Well, I'll tell you, I can certainly understand people's reluctance to accept a story like that.
00:57:04Although I do believe you did see or experience something.
00:57:08Now, whatever that something was, it'd be hard to pinpoint.
00:57:13First thing in the morning, I'll...
00:57:18May I ask where you got that necklace?
00:57:20It was a present from Eddie.
00:57:22Did you buy it somewhere?
00:57:23No, sir. It's part of a foreign stone.
00:57:27A meteorite, to be exact.
00:57:29A meteorite?
00:57:32It was my hunch.
00:57:34Do you know Professor Bartholomew?
00:57:36Why, yeah, he's one of my profs.
00:57:38Why?
00:57:39Well, I met him the other night, after your lab building was broken into.
00:57:43That stolen meteorite, are you one of the boys that helped him find it?
00:57:47Yes, sir. Me and my friend Ronnie.
00:57:48Can you think of any reason anyone would want it?
00:57:52No.
00:57:54I don't believe it contains any precious metal or anything.
00:57:57It was found out at Miller's Lake, right?
00:57:59Right.
00:58:00Hmm.
00:58:03I'll follow up on this.
00:58:05If this happens again, I want you to call me first thing.
00:58:08You got it?
00:58:10Now, I want you to get this young lady back to the dorm,
00:58:13before she gets locked out for the night.
00:58:32Frank?
00:58:33Yeah.
00:58:35Yeah.
00:58:37On second thought, when the monster's cornered, read him his rights.
00:58:48What?
00:58:54Ron!
00:58:54Wake up!
00:58:55I've got to tell you something!
00:58:57Newton!
00:58:58I swear to God, you better be careful or you're going to lose a roommate tonight.
00:59:01Oh, believe me, pal, you almost did lose a roommate tonight.
00:59:04What?
00:59:05It's happened!
00:59:06It's finally happened!
00:59:08They're here!
00:59:09They've landed!
00:59:10Oh, my God!
00:59:10Who is it?
00:59:11Russia?
00:59:11No!
00:59:13China?
00:59:13No!
00:59:14Mexico?
00:59:16The Martians!
00:59:19The Martians!
00:59:20The Martians!
00:59:25Okay.
00:59:26Run it by me.
00:59:29Well, Sally and I were parked down at Miller's Lake.
00:59:32Oh.
00:59:33You know, just listening to music.
00:59:36Just discussing term papers.
00:59:38And all of a sudden, I saw one!
00:59:42It was at the water's edge.
00:59:43He was probably filling up canteens or something.
00:59:47Oh, and big!
00:59:48Ron, he made Kate Conner look like a pygmy!
00:59:51Yeah, he was probably a bunch of guys from across campus playing a prank.
00:59:54That's all.
00:59:55That's what I thought at first, too, when I challenged him.
00:59:58I said, you know, see here, this has gone far enough.
01:00:01And if you don't think I mean business, just come forward!
01:00:04And?
01:00:06That's when he lifted up the car by the front bumper!
01:00:11Did you report it?
01:00:12Yeah!
01:00:13I thought I was gonna blow a rod getting us there.
01:00:15Well, what did the police say?
01:00:16Just the usual.
01:00:18Oh, we'd just look into it.
01:00:21Gee, I don't know what to think.
01:00:22Look, for now, let's get some sleep.
01:00:24We'll talk about it tomorrow.
01:00:25Sleep!
01:00:26Sleep!
01:00:27Eddie!
01:00:27How can you sleep at a time like this?
01:00:30Oh.
01:00:36I never saw their spaceship, but I'll bet you anything the whole countryside's littered with them!
01:00:41Oh, give me a break!
01:00:48Say, I'd like to see the day that you get an A from Professor Martholomew.
01:00:57If you wake me up again like you did last night, you'd be lucky if you ever get a grade
01:01:01at all.
01:01:06Hey, Newton.
01:01:08You made the headlines.
01:01:10I thought I was dreaming last night.
01:01:13Do you want to read it correctly?
01:01:16What is this?
01:01:17Are we being invaded?
01:01:19My phone has been ringing all morning.
01:01:22Yes, sir.
01:01:23Mothers are afraid to let the children go to school.
01:01:25Yes, sir.
01:01:26Next thing you know, everyone will be carrying guns.
01:01:28Yes, sir.
01:01:29Well, do you have the answer?
01:01:31Yes, sir.
01:01:31Oh, I mean no, sir.
01:01:33No, sir, is precisely right.
01:01:34Get me the police on the phone and put me through to Chief Myers.
01:01:36Yes, sir.
01:01:38Edward Newton, sophomore, history major at CSC, related the following story late last night
01:01:45to police authorities.
01:01:47Huh.
01:01:48Kids getting a college education.
01:01:50Must be fairly level-headed.
01:01:53Hey, the rest of the guys are in the way.
01:01:57Hi, cutie.
01:01:58Hi, there.
01:02:00Give Mike the wig so we can finish the head.
01:02:03Get it on the street.
01:02:04Hey, yeah.
01:02:07Talk about electronic genius.
01:02:09Hit the switch.
01:02:11Ah, beautiful.
01:02:13Hey, when we get this mannequin inside of that haunted house tonight,
01:02:18talk about the girls losing their heads.
01:02:28Are you sure you don't mind if I wear your necklace tonight?
01:02:31No, of course not.
01:02:32It looks cute on you.
01:02:35It does kind of compliment my eyes.
01:02:37I wish Ronnie would give me something like this.
01:02:41Oh, well.
01:02:43Is that your stuff packed?
01:02:44Yep.
01:02:45You ready?
01:02:45I guess.
01:02:48I want you to take a look at these nails.
01:02:51Took me a whole month to grow them.
01:02:53Not to mention the time spent on manicuring.
01:02:55And surely they will all be chewed off by sunrise.
01:03:02Hello?
01:03:04Yes, we're all packed and ready.
01:03:07Out front in about five minutes?
01:03:10Okay.
01:03:11All right.
01:03:11We'll be there.
01:03:12Ah, bye-bye.
01:03:15That was little Miss Letts.
01:03:17Go, go, go!
01:03:18The ever-efficient Miss Abigail Riley.
01:03:20She'll probably be the next social chairman.
01:03:23Let's go.
01:03:24They're on their way.
01:03:29One second thought.
01:03:31Relax.
01:03:31You want Boris Kalaf to think you're a Freddy cat?
01:03:35Mm-hmm.
01:03:58Tonight you are all merely pledges.
01:04:00But those of you who live to see Dawn
01:04:03will have earned the title Sister.
01:04:06Anyone caught leaving the house,
01:04:08our observers are planted,
01:04:10will automatically be dropped.
01:04:12And don't take lightly the ghost stories
01:04:15you've heard about this place.
01:04:16So good night, good luck,
01:04:19and we'll see you.
01:04:35in the morning.
01:04:39Those of you who live to see the Dawn?
01:04:42Don't worry, kid.
01:04:44That's all build-up.
01:04:45Nothing's going to happen.
01:04:48Besides, we got your lucky charm.
01:04:50What's to worry?
01:04:52One day,
01:04:57who are το Gi actions?
01:05:11Are you sure?
01:05:40Oh, my God.
01:05:48I think I heard something downstairs.
01:05:51Come on, don't say anything.
01:06:15Hello?
01:06:16Is this Professor Bartholomew?
01:06:18How are you, sir?
01:06:20This is Mike Kelly down at police headquarters.
01:06:23I hate to bother you at home, sir, but I've been running around something in my mind that I can't
01:06:27quite get to jail.
01:06:30Well, I know this is going to sound a little crazy, but do you think, well, in your professional opinion,
01:06:38that the meteorite or even pieces of it might be or act as an energy source?
01:06:47What's that?
01:06:50Well, that's the part hard to comprehend.
01:06:56Well, perhaps an auxiliary force that draws its strength from it.
01:07:02That auxiliary force either being intangible, such as a ball of light, or taking on the shape or appearance of
01:07:07a mobile mass or being?
01:07:14Oh, I don't know.
01:07:16Maybe I've been up on this thing too long or concentrating too much.
01:07:21There's got to be a correlation somewhere.
01:07:25Yes, sir, that's right.
01:07:26Wherever the meteorite or even a piece of it was, well, this monster everyone, you know, makes light of has
01:07:32been seen and tried to retrieve the stone.
01:07:36Right.
01:07:37To date, the meteorite hasn't even been located.
01:07:43Wherever the meteorite or even a piece of it was.
01:07:49Huh?
01:07:51Nothing, Professor.
01:07:52Uh, look, uh, could I get back to you?
01:07:54I think I might have uncovered something.
01:07:59Larry, put a cruiser on hold and come here a minute.
01:08:09What's up?
01:08:10I'm fixing to have a dog something.
01:08:12I want you riding shotgun.
01:08:13What do we got?
01:08:14Well, on that question, things get just a little smoky.
01:08:18You know that, that goon that's been running around scaring hell out of everybody?
01:08:21Well, that thing that stole the professor's meteorite?
01:08:24Thing is right.
01:08:25I was just talking to the old boy and I don't think we're dealing with anything human.
01:08:58I'll tell you more on the way over to college.
01:08:59That's a good word we need between us.
01:09:01It's...
01:09:02It's...
01:09:03It's...
01:09:04It's...
01:09:04It's...
01:09:05It's...
01:09:06Gee...
01:09:07Ga...
01:09:08Goo.
01:09:12Sounds like baby talk to me.
01:09:15I was trying to break it down in terms you could relate to, Larry.
01:09:19Let's go.
01:09:40Who's that?
01:09:42It's Abigail.
01:09:43She's failing.
01:09:45Oh, God.
01:09:46I think I wet my pants.
01:09:47Maybe it's some of the sisters trying to scare us.
01:09:50Yeah, or maybe some boys.
01:09:52Well, go take a look then.
01:09:53Why me?
01:09:54Forget it.
01:09:55All right then.
01:09:55We'll all go.
01:09:56Terry, you stay here and watch Abigail.
01:09:58Come on.
01:10:26Hey!
01:10:31Hey!
01:10:39Hey!
01:10:42Hey!
01:10:46Hey!
01:10:47Hey!
01:10:48Hey!
01:10:50Hey!
01:10:50Hey!
01:10:50Hey!
01:10:51Hey!
01:10:52Hey!
01:10:53Hey!
01:10:55Hey!
01:10:55Hey!
01:10:57That's it!
01:10:59I can!
01:11:01I don't want to be in the sorority that bad!
01:11:04Goodbye!
01:11:05Fight for me!
01:11:09You guys can stay here if you want to, but I'm leaving!
01:11:23Hey! Just wait a minute!
01:11:25This is a dummy!
01:11:44Why on earth did you frighten us like that?
01:11:49We were just having some fun!
01:11:51Oh! Some fun!
01:11:54You practically frightened us half to death not to mention making dear Abby faint!
01:12:01Hey, would anyone like some wine?
01:12:04You better believe that!
01:12:06Hey, great! Yeah, I've got some in the car!
01:12:08Wait here and I'll be right back!
01:12:14Hey, Annie! Bring a flashlight!
01:12:17Hey, Annie! Bring a flashlight!
01:12:43That's the way I see it!
01:12:45It sounds crazy, I know!
01:12:47I'm riding a hunch and I've got a seat for it!
01:12:49Mm-hmm!
01:12:50Yeah?
01:12:51I figure it came down from the north!
01:12:55Maybe over there to hit Miller's leg!
01:12:58Mm-hmm!
01:13:00Hard to believe no one saw it hit!
01:13:02Yeah!
01:13:02Must have been late!
01:13:03Mm-hmm!
01:13:04After midnight!
01:13:05Yeah!
01:13:06Mm-hmm!
01:13:07Am I getting the idea you're not buying this?
01:13:09Oh, no!
01:13:10Not at all, Mike!
01:13:11It's like you say, it might sound crazy to some people, but you're playing the hunch and you've got to
01:13:17see it through!
01:13:18Yeah, I know what I said, Sergeant!
01:13:24Hey, watch it, Larry!
01:13:27Damn!
01:13:40Hold the line, please!
01:13:43No, I'm sorry, Sally isn't here. She's, uh...
01:13:46Well, come on, where is she?
01:13:48Look, this is very important, besides being a police matter.
01:13:52Yes, sir.
01:13:53Well, you see, I wasn't supposed to tell anyone, especially mothers and people like that.
01:13:58Sally and a bunch of the other girls are spending the night in what we call the haunted house down
01:14:01on South Street.
01:14:02How long have they been gone?
01:14:03A couple of hours.
01:14:04Look, do you remember, did this Baxter girl have on a pendant, you know, a necklace thing with a stone?
01:14:10No, I wasn't on the...
01:14:12All right, thank you.
01:14:15Don't you think we should get out of the bedroom and join the others?
01:14:18Why? Don't you like being alone with me?
01:14:21Yeah, but...
01:14:22So much, then.
01:14:28Where are you?
01:14:28I'm here, I am here.
01:14:35Where are you?
01:14:36Are you coming from Dr. Thomas?
01:14:36I'm here.
01:14:48I'm here.
01:14:48The poor guy, buddy.
01:14:53I'm here.
01:14:56I'm here.
01:14:56I'm here.
01:14:56I'll let's go.
01:14:56Who are you here.
01:15:09He's back! He's coming to get me!
01:15:13The monster! The monster down at the lake! He's down at the stairs right now!
01:15:16I've got to get out of here!
01:15:19Don't you think you scared us enough? That cheap trick won't work!
01:15:22Hey, artist! Artist! You've got to get out of here now!
01:15:26I'm sorry about scaring you tonight. Forgive me?
01:15:30Sure. I'll always feel safe with your arms around me.
01:15:55I'll be in the picture. I'll be in the picture.
01:15:57I'll be in the picture. I'll be in the picture.
01:16:03Eddie's telling you the truth. There is something out there.
01:16:25The monster!
01:16:27Who are you? Come on!
01:16:40Come on!
01:16:49What is in there?
01:16:51That cranch we told you about that night.
01:16:55Where's your necklace?
01:16:58I was wearing it!
01:17:01Debbie, what?
01:17:04Which one's Debbie?
01:17:13Debbie, where's that necklace you wore?
01:17:15I don't have it.
01:17:17That thing inside the house grabbed it.
01:17:20Sergeant, get these kids back over here.
01:17:22Get them out of the way.
01:17:22Get them over there and keep them over there.
01:17:24Move it back.
01:17:26Move it back.
01:17:27Let's go.
01:17:27Come on.
01:18:08Frank, are you okay?
01:18:09Frank.
01:18:12Frank.
01:18:18Are you okay?
01:18:19Frank.
01:18:23Frank.
01:18:23Oh, this is more than we can handle.
01:18:27Listen, go call a couple more units and get a medical unit in here to help those kids out.
01:18:31Hurry up.
01:18:32Right, Mike.
01:18:32Right.
01:18:45Sergeant, we're gonna fire them this day.
01:18:47Wait a minute now.
01:18:48Wait a minute.
01:18:48You know, he said that thing is dangerous.
01:18:50Yep, but he might need some help.
01:18:52What about those girls over there?
01:18:54We'll put them in the car. We'll get someone to look after them.
01:18:58Vance, this is Larry.
01:19:00You better send some extra units over here to Morgan Avenue.
01:19:03We've got a lot of trouble over here.
01:19:04We're going to need tear gas, nets, anything else you have.
01:19:33Take it easy with that gun in the neighborhood.
01:19:35Listen, what are you doing coming to that way, Eddie?
01:19:38I just thought I'd circle through and round them up for you.
01:19:40Oh, you did, did you?
01:19:42They could be more than a couple blocks away.
01:19:46Hurry up. Hurry up.
01:19:47Hurry up.
01:19:48Hurry up.
01:19:48Come on.
01:19:48Come on.
01:19:57Come on.
01:20:02Go this way.
01:20:24Move him.
01:20:25That's him.
01:20:25He walked himself in an old theater cross the street.
01:20:37Move these people back.
01:20:38Get them back.
01:20:40Move them.
01:20:41Move them out.
01:20:42Don't let them come in here.
01:20:43Come on.
01:20:44Let's go.
01:20:47Get back.
01:20:49All right, I've got this thing trapped in this theater over here,
01:20:51and I want you two guys to position yourselves right over there.
01:20:54Don't fire your weapons or do anything before I say so.
01:20:56You understand? Did you bring a tear gas?
01:20:58No, sir. Curtis is from the first precinct.
01:20:59Let me know when he gets it. Let's go.
01:21:04What are they doing?
01:21:06Just stay where you are.
01:21:09Here comes the mayor.
01:21:10Here, open it up.
01:21:11Let the mayor through.
01:21:32Mike. Mike. The mayor's here.
01:21:35Oh, all right. That's all I need now.
01:21:37Well, think of something fast, because here comes his aid.
01:21:41Lieutenant Kelly.
01:21:43Yes.
01:21:44Lieutenant Mike Kelly.
01:21:46Yes.
01:21:48Mayor Taylor wants to see you immediately for an in-depth report on the entire situation.
01:21:54Get him out of my sight.
01:22:00Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
01:22:01Robert J. for Jack Cogdale from We're There For You, Channel 2.
01:22:04Tonight, I'm standing on a side street just off Granger Avenue.
01:22:07To my right and beside me are small clusters of individuals
01:22:10in the grip of the fear of something of bizarre proportions.
01:22:13Just behind me is a deserted theater, a lone monument against the ravages of time.
01:22:16But tonight, we're concerned for the new tenant of that building.
01:22:19His exact purpose and identity have not been pinpointed at this time.
01:22:22But let me point out...
01:22:24Who in the hell is that?
01:22:26That's Robert J. Cogdale.
01:22:28Cogdale.
01:22:30Get him out of here.
01:22:31Get him off camera.
01:22:34With information from unusually reliable sources,
01:22:37and remember, this is a scooper first.
01:22:39Make way.
01:22:39What's going on here?
01:22:40Make a hole.
01:22:40Hey, did you have a recruiting to the press?
01:22:42What's going on?
01:22:48What's going on here, sir?
01:23:02Yes, Lieutenant Kelly?
01:23:03Yes, sir.
01:23:04What have we got at it?
01:23:05That's Mike, right?
01:23:06Yes, sir.
01:23:08I know you've had a long talk with Chief Myers about this invasion scare.
01:23:10Well, tonight has finally come to a head.
01:23:12Whatever it is, it's trapped in that old deserted building over there.
01:23:15I'm afraid we're dealing with something that's very real, sir.
01:23:18Something very unreal.
01:23:20Am I to believe that there's something from outer space in there?
01:23:22Or inhuman, or what?
01:23:24Well, I don't think it's from outer space,
01:23:26but rather something or someone controlled by a higher intelligence,
01:23:30a slave or a robot of some sort.
01:23:33A slave?
01:23:34Well, I'm sorry I can't give you any more concrete answers than that,
01:23:36but until we get this thing captured, we just have to wait.
01:23:39That's all I need is a full-scale panic in this town.
01:23:42What's your plan?
01:23:43Well, we've got the place secured, surrounded.
01:23:47Try tear gas first to force it out,
01:23:49and we'll try to wrestle it down with ropes or that.
01:23:52Ropes?
01:23:53What about guns?
01:23:54Have you got plenty of firepower?
01:23:56Bullets don't stop it.
01:23:59Bullets don't stop it.
01:24:01I'm requesting the National Guard be put on over here.
01:24:03Now, wait a minute, Mayor.
01:24:04You give us a shot at it.
01:24:05You said yourself you don't want to panic.
01:24:07Now, you call out the National Guard,
01:24:08you're going to create a statewide hysteria.
01:24:10I suppose you're right.
01:24:18Well, looks like we're all set.
01:24:20We'll cut to Kelly's work.
01:24:21Here, guys, he's ready.
01:24:22Let's go.
01:24:24Back it up.
01:24:25What are you going to do?
01:24:29You're suffering me so good,
01:24:30you'll read about it in the morning's paper.
01:25:21Boy, that was some powerful tear gas.
01:25:24A ruptured gas line, for sure.
01:25:27Apparently, whatever it was has been consumed by the fire,
01:25:30and I guess it's just as well.
01:25:32I don't know.
01:25:35Maybe after the fire's out,
01:25:36we can poke around in the ashes and find something.
01:25:40Something to give us a clue to where this thing came from.
01:26:01Ladies and gentlemen, one moment, please.
01:26:06This bulletin has just been handed me from our news desk.
01:26:11The body of Lou Jacoby,
01:26:13the gangland informant in last year's Keefoffer hearings,
01:26:16was found floating in Miller's Lake early today.
01:26:20Reports had identified Jacoby as the man shot
01:26:22and thrown into a car 13 days ago
01:26:25in front of the Jonquil Hotel.
01:26:28Police said the body had been weighted down with chains
01:26:31and had apparently been in the water for some time.
01:26:35And now, back to music
01:26:37with this week's number one hit,
01:26:40Hoppin'.
01:26:45Put on your glad rags, baby
01:26:48Brush up my blue suede shoes
01:26:51Tonight we're going out dancing
01:26:53We're gonna lose our blues
01:26:56And my body is a-hoppin'
01:26:59Hoppin' and a-poppin'
01:27:02Shimmerin' and a-shakin'
01:27:04To the break of day
01:27:08Debbie's got a crush on Ronnie
01:27:10Eddie's got a thing for Jane
01:27:13Sally's got it bad for the teacher
01:27:15But dancing kills the pain
01:27:18Everybody's a-hoppin'
