00:00I do want to touch on the Cy Young Award race, which is wide open now in the American League,
00:04but in the National League, Paul Skeens is still the favorite at plus 155. What's interesting to
00:10me here, Peter, I've said this several times on the show, covering baseball, sort of having a feel
00:16as to how things work. It seems to me, without knowing, that Shohei Otani wants to win the NL
00:22Cy Young. He's not hitting when he's pitching. He's going all of a sudden out of nowhere,
00:25going deeper into games. I just find his number really fascinating at 7-1. I know he's got a lot
00:31to overcome with Skeens, who could throw eight innings at any time, but what am I missing here
00:35with Otani? I feel like his odds should be around Sale, Sanchez, or maybe a little better. Maybe I'm
00:40off. So here's why I wouldn't be putting a bet on Shohei Otani. I'm worried about the innings limit
00:45that the Dodgers, I think, are still going to put on him, because at the end of the day, the
00:49Dodgers
00:49are in search for their third straight World Series. Shohei Otani throwing 170 innings and
00:55potentially not being at his peak come October is not in their best interest. It's not in Shohei
00:59Otani's best interest, right? He wants to go down as one of the best players to ever play this game,
01:04and he might. And I don't think a certain Cy Young will put him over the edge. We already know
01:08that he
01:09hits and pitches. So I just don't see him getting the innings. Talon is there, but he's already behind
01:14in starts, right? So that's already what we're dealing with. So I think it's just going to be an
01:19innings limit.
