00:22One mistake out here could be the difference between life or death.
00:25You have no idea what you're going to encounter.
00:30People from up here, when they're on the run, he's running, he's running.
00:33He's through there.
00:33And we'll find him.
00:34The allure to Alaska is just how wild it can be.
00:41Stop it, you're going to get tasers.
00:43Stop.
00:44It's Alaska State Troopers.
00:45You're on the left.
00:47Oh, stop.
00:49You don't have a boring day as a State Trooper in Alaska.
00:51We're going to fire, we're going to go to the round shop.
00:53State Troopers.
00:54Do not move.
00:55Let me see your hand.
00:56Hands down.
00:56Oh, wait a minute, Jack.
00:58I'm searching you.
00:59Let me see your hand.
01:10Hello, sir.
01:11Trooper Sorrow, State Troopers.
01:12Reason I pulled you over.
01:13Notice you got a headlight out, and you also don't have any mud flaps on the back.
01:17I'm on parole.
01:18What are you on parole for?
01:19Tempted murder.
01:21Yeah?
01:21Yes, sir.
01:22Who did you try to kill?
01:23I killed a friend where I drove.
01:25Okay.
01:26Just hang tight for me and be right back with you, okay?
01:30Seems like he's in good standings with parole.
01:33I don't want to mess that up for him and start him down a bad path over a headlight.
01:38So we'll get him out of here with a warning.
01:40I'm Trooper Somerville, patrolling the Mat-Su Valley, Wasilla, Big Lake, Houston area.
01:46I'm originally from Ohio, served in the United States Army when I was getting out of the military.
01:51I wanted to go into law enforcement, love the outdoors, love the cold.
01:55I took a leap and moved up here to Alaska, and now I've been here 10 years.
01:59So I got an anonymous tip this afternoon about an individual that's got multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants out for
02:07his arrest.
02:08Right now we got some information that he's up here in the Willow area and a potential vehicle that he's
02:15going to be in.
02:18He's known to the troopers for being extremely hostile.
02:23One of the charges is for assaulting a police dog.
02:27He's known for running, so it's one of those higher risk traffic stops.
02:33We have reached out to the Wasilla Police Department, and they are going to assist us with their canine.
02:41In the event that this individual runs, the dog would likely be deployed.
02:45So right now we're going to be on the lookout for the suspect.
02:515-11. I'm going to stand by here at the school. A little less conspicuous.
02:57So I've got one guy north, two guys set up on the south side of the bridge with spikes, and
03:02then canine as well.
03:0310-4.
03:05So right now we're positioning some of the troopers.
03:08It's a heavily wooded area.
03:10Definitely more potential for him to hide in the woods.
03:15Where is he?
03:19There he is.
03:21We got eyes on. He should be coming off of Willow Station.
03:23He's currently at the stop sign.
03:25Okay, I copy.
03:26I'll let you take the lead on the traffic stop, and I'll be right behind you.
03:3110-4.
03:3910-36.
03:40Going into town site.
03:50Driver, roll down the window!
03:52Moving around in the vehicle.
03:54See Alaska State Troopers.
03:56Roll down the window!
03:58Foot bail.
04:16He's through there!
04:21Oh, my God!
04:222-39!
04:23Oh, my God!
04:35You're coming!
04:35Get there!
04:36Oh, my God.
04:56Nate, you believe you're on a track?
05:01How confident on the track, you think?
05:04Grinding.
05:04OK.
05:15I'm going to grab a fish, we can't let it be fish.
05:33No?
05:33Negative.
05:34If we can get somebody there at the residence where we last had eyes on him and make sure
05:39that we clear that property, there's a lot of junk he could hide under.
05:43I can go back with you, we've got two with Nate and the dog.
05:47To me, he's on this block, bed down.
05:51I know I had three darts in his back that I counted.
05:54When I tried to cut him off in the car, he definitely had darts sticking out of his dog.
05:57Yeah.
05:58So the last place, right there, we're going to move up here with K9 and see if they
06:04can clear that area.
06:21We've got some digital night vision to assist us to be able to see some of the darker areas
06:27and penetrate through the trees better.
06:29So at this point, we're going to start searching this immediate block where we last lost sight
06:34of him and start more of a grid search.
06:37Most of the time, these foot bail situations, they don't have the endurance to keep going
06:42and it's easier to hide.
06:44Time for that.
06:45Airbnb is right in the path that he took, we might see if we can clear it.
06:51Make sure there's nothing.
06:52It looks like it's been entered.
06:55You guys see anybody run through here?
07:10Break, we have forced entry on a cabin.
07:14State troopers!
07:15State troopers, if you're in there, talk to us now!
07:18Announce yourself!
07:20We were checking the surrounding area.
07:22The renter noticed that something had been placed behind the door.
07:26The door was barricaded and the deadbolt wood frame is busted.
07:33Why don't you guys cover the rear?
07:35We're in a hold and see if we can get a dog over here.
07:37State troopers, if you're inside, talk to us now!
07:40Canine, figure out!
07:41You may be bit!
07:43We know you're back there!
07:44Come out of the house!
07:46Hands up!
07:48Police!
07:49Canine!
07:49Speak to me now!
07:50You may be bit!
07:59We know you're back there!
08:07Got him!
08:08We know you're in there!
08:10Talk to us and come on out now!
08:12Right now!
08:12Let's go up in the second store!
08:17Just come on down, and we'll take you into custody without any discomfort.
08:23You're coming out!
08:25Keith, I think he's coming out.
08:26Show us your hands first!
08:27You want to get hurt?
08:28Oh!
08:28Oh!
08:30Oh!
08:31Turn around and face away.
08:33Walk backwards.
08:33Walk backwards.
08:34Put your hands on top of your head.
08:36Hands on top of your head.
08:3843 to the right now.
08:40Stop!
08:41Again, I'm breaking into an Airbnb here, so felony burglary will be added to the list of
08:48charges for breaking into a dwelling that's being lived in.
08:53He didn't go very far at all.
08:54We're probably 200, 300 yards from the original stop.
09:00You're cold?
09:02Well, maybe you should have thought about that before you ran.
09:04There was a lot of potential for things to go poorly, and ultimately, everything worked
09:10out well, and nobody got hurt.
09:11So, very happy with the end result here tonight.
09:37I'm Trooper Martin.
09:39We're out here today patrolling the detachment in Fairbanks.
09:44Right now, we're headed out to assist in an arrest.
09:48There's a male suspect refusing to come out.
09:52He's been charged with escape and a felony assault.
09:58Subject has committed a violent felony against another.
10:01Use of deadly force is authorized to defend yourself and others against serious
10:05physical injury or death.
10:26Just get behind there and hit that thing quick, because he's going right out the back.
10:30Okay.
10:42There is a possibility that your suspect may be standing next to the first truck.
10:48All right.
10:49He just looked right at us.
10:50That guy just made the helo, and he's headed back for the residence.
10:54Scratch that.
10:55He was going to the residence.
10:56That subject just got into a little black car that's in the driveway, so that subject
11:00may be looking to go mobile.
11:02All right.
11:02Let's go.
11:03Helo noticed the male that fit the stature of the suspect.
11:10The black car is driving further up the road, away from the residence.
11:14I'm going to stay on that just because of his behavior.
11:16Time for work on to the original property.
11:32We're back to prison.
11:34Clear.
11:36That's perfect for me.
11:40All right.
11:41Got a moving at the front door.
11:42Female.
11:46There's nobody.
11:47but it's just me.
11:49Okay, walk to me.
11:50Uh, what's going on?
11:51Walk to me.
11:59Are you walking to me?
12:09This is ridiculous.
12:12I have a family and a child.
12:14Guys, this is not okay.
12:17You know, she's been told that you will be arrested
12:19for a harboring infugitive.
12:21She's adamant he is not here.
12:24Well, the car is continuing down that road.
12:27That subject went down to another house with a red roof.
12:302D4-4, can we have two units break off
12:32and go to that floor tonight?
12:34I'll have that room. Where's that?
12:36Set the end of the road.
12:38Fairbanks 20-23, it'll be 10-19 to this residence
12:41down the road following this black car.
12:44Mac, the Gila 2, that's your driveway right there.
12:47He walked through that front door
12:49where that blue tarp is, is where I had seen him last.
12:52Fairbanks 20-23, we're making call-outs,
12:55and we have one coming out.
12:57Mac, that's the individual that I had seen earlier.
13:01This individual is not our suspect,
13:03but he did confirm that the suspect is still there.
13:07The female just changed her story.
13:09She's 99% sure he's not in the residence,
13:11but he doesn't know.
13:13She told me, no, we can't go in the residence.
13:1510-4.
13:16They allow the state members.
13:18We have a warrant for your arrest.
13:19We are not going away.
13:21I need you to exit the residence.
13:24If you fail to do so, of course, maybe it's against you.
13:27We know you're inside.
13:29You exit the residence with your hands up.
13:31There's movement!
13:33Your hands up!
13:34They're troopers!
13:34Keep your hands where I can see them.
13:36Come back, come back, keep coming back.
13:40And drop to your knees.
13:41Drop to your knees.
13:43All right, you guys, move in.
13:52The suspect thankfully surrendered without putting up a fight.
13:56When we started the call-outs,
13:58the first person to walk out of the residence
13:59was the female who denied that was inside the house,
14:03which that turned out to be false.
14:05She was placed under arrest for harboring a felon
14:08and then lying about it.
14:09So we detained those people, and everybody turned out OK.
14:12So, that was good.
14:37My name's Cody Webb.
14:39I'm an Alaska state trooper,
14:40and we're working in the Palmer Wasilla area today.
14:45There's a lot of people out there.
14:47It's a Saturday.
14:48Very nice weather.
14:49We're approaching the end of summer,
14:50so there's a lot of folks out in the area fishing in the river
14:53because the salmon are in or using their ATVs and dirt bikes
14:56and things like that.
14:56I actually ride my side-by-side out here fairly often.
15:00We go to the glacier, my family and I.
15:04One of our guys that's doing some traffic enforcement
15:07and I found a car tucked into the woods.
15:09The owner of that vehicle has a warrant for their arrest
15:12and also a felon.
15:13Sounds like he's got eyes on them fishing in the river
15:15and has a rifle.
15:17A lot of people carry some kind of weapon
15:20when they're fishing or whatever.
15:21We always have bears and moose around.
15:24He's allowed to have non-concealable firearm.
15:26But this guy having a warrant for his arrest
15:28and also being armed makes it a little bit more dangerous for us.
15:3422, 10, 23.
15:351B38, 1B22.
15:45Hey, Cody.
15:46Yeah.
15:49We have rifles still in the locker room.
15:51Is it silvers yet?
15:52Yeah, so it's a kitchen of the right.
15:53Yeah, I don't know how we would get to them.
15:58You need chest waders or some kind of float
16:01to get out there to them.
16:02We're not equipped for that right now.
16:04We're just trying to come up with a way
16:05to possibly convince this guy to come over
16:07to ultimately arrest them.
16:10I don't know.
16:10We could ruse them.
16:12Somebody called.
16:13This car got broken into out here.
16:14You can talk him up.
16:16This is investigative micing
16:17of the Alaska State Trooper.
16:19BLM's having some issues with your car.
16:21They want to talk to the owners of the vehicles.
16:24Yeah, but can you come talk to them?
16:27All right.
16:29Red shirt's putting a backpack on.
16:32The other guy has the rifle now.
16:34It's just like tuck up in here and wait for him
16:36to pop up right here.
16:38Based on like the layout of all of this
16:40and the fact that they've got a rifle on their back,
16:42they actually have the sniper just kind of providing
16:44overwatch to keep their safety right now.
16:52They're coming now this way.
16:52Traffic enforcement found a car tucked into the woods.
16:55The owner of that vehicle has a warrant for their arrest
16:57and also a felon.
16:59BLM's having some issues with your car.
17:01Let's just like tuck up in here and wait for him
17:03to pop up right here.
17:04Based on like the fact that they've got a rifle,
17:06they actually have the sniper just kind of providing
17:08overwatch.
17:08They're coming now, this way.
17:17No.
17:19You have an idea?
17:20No.
17:20He's in Oregon.
17:22He's in Oregon?
17:23Yeah.
17:23OK.
17:23Who's driving his car?
17:24Him.
17:26What car are you driving?
17:28A little Honda Civic.
17:29Yeah.
17:30Who's riding this?
17:31What?
17:32Registered to you?
17:35I just haven't put it in my name yet,
17:37but it's all the insurance and everything is in love.
17:4022, we're in contact.
17:42Doesn't appear to be .
17:44You're ready to see ID when you get a chance here?
17:48That's what happens when you don't register your card to yourself.
17:50You get problems.
17:52We were racking our brain down there.
17:54Yeah, we were like, what did we do?
17:55We're just fishing.
17:56Neither of you are going to have warrants, right?
17:58No.
17:59I will personally apologize to you for the ruse.
18:01No, I didn't.
18:01Yeah, so.
18:02I have no problem.
18:03Guess the fish are in, huh?
18:04Don't tell nobody.
18:06You guys got your licenses on you?
18:08Yeah.
18:08Might as well check those, yeah.
18:10Perfect.
18:11All right.
18:12Turned out not to be who we thought it was,
18:13so nobody's got a warrant for their arrest.
18:15Just a couple of guys out fishing.
18:17We make mistakes once in a while.
18:19Appreciate the cooperation, guys.
18:20We're going to get out of your hair.
18:21Please register your cars, otherwise this could happen.
18:23The last person that had it might have a warrant for their arrest,
18:26and then you get accosted by us when you're just trying to fish.
18:36I'm Wesley Booth.
18:38I have my master's degree in investigations, and it focuses on financial crime.
18:43It's a very unique niche of crime.
18:45It helps in all aspects because every investigation can use very similar skills.
18:51The attention to detail that comes with it.
18:53The ability to detect certain facts that maybe other people aren't able to notice.
19:03before he put his address and get.
19:06Got a call about a prowling after the fact.
19:09The caller stated she found footprints outside of her daughter's bedroom window,
19:15and then checked her cameras.
19:17On the cameras, there was a bald male that she doesn't recognize,
19:21standing outside the window looking in,
19:24and then was seen getting into a vehicle and leaving.
19:28The caller was able to get us a license plate.
19:31So we're going to go see some of that security footage,
19:34compare it to the registered owner of that vehicle,
19:36see if it's the same person,
19:37and then go to wherever the vehicle's registered
19:40and try to make contact there and see what the deal is.
19:46Well, how are you?
19:48You called us?
19:49Yeah, correct me.
19:49Kind of just walking through what you guys saw outside the window and on off video.
19:55So let's start from the beginning.
19:56There was snow on the ground around November,
19:58and we noticed tracks coming to my daughter's window.
20:02So we immediately put the cameras up all around the house.
20:05And what I observed was it was dog tracks,
20:08and it was large, larger tracks made me assume that it was a male.
20:12Okay.
20:13What cautioned me was that they followed the exact trails coming in,
20:18and they walked the same exact trail going out.
20:22And I'll show you.
20:24So this was the initial trail that he came in,
20:26and the tracks went straight like this window right here.
20:29The ones you found in the winter?
20:31Right.
20:31So today when my husband's out here smoking,
20:33he said, come outside.
20:34He said, get your gun, come outside.
20:36Yeah.
20:36And he said someone's back there.
20:38See, he's through the woods, right?
20:39So, but I see the bald heads.
20:41You know what I mean?
20:43So I said, let's go around.
20:44You came out, you walked around.
20:46And I walked around.
20:47So we can catch him.
20:49And when we walked around, he was coming out with his dog really quick.
20:53Boys.
20:54He didn't want to stop.
20:55He was pretty much caught.
20:56He sees us walking up to him.
20:57If you see someone walking up to you, you're like, hey, what's going on?
21:00His first reaction was to get in the car, slam the door.
21:03And I'm like taking pictures because I know he's about to pull off.
21:05He's leaving really fast.
21:06Yeah.
21:07And this is the pictures that I took today in my phone.
21:10Gotcha.
21:13That's him.
21:14That him?
21:15Yeah.
21:15Something like that.
21:17Okay.
21:18This is a known issue?
21:20For him?
21:21Yeah.
21:22First I've ever heard of this guy.
21:23So not to me.
21:25What the photo came from?
21:27That's a driver's license photo.
21:28So just send me those real quick.
21:30I'll be right back.
21:30Okay?
21:32We got flattened grass here.
21:34So I wouldn't be surprised if he did walk up to here, at least to the edge there.
21:39Definitely have disturbed foliage here and, you know, certainly there as well.
21:44So here's the unfortunate news.
21:48There's no actual law against people prowling in Alaska.
21:53Okay.
21:54There is trespassing and there is stalking.
21:56For stalking, we would have to prove it was him every single time.
22:00Maybe consider getting an addition.
22:01I know you have enough cameras, but one right in that area, because that seems to be the
22:06problem area and your other two didn't seem to catch anything.
22:09If you have no trespassing signs and he's trespassing and we can get him on video, potentially
22:13we could charge him with a crime for trespassing.
22:15Okay.
22:15And call back every single time he comes on the property if he comes back.
22:20Make sure you get those things done and just stay safe.
22:24Okay?
22:24All right.
22:25Thank you for calling.
22:27I absolutely do want to go talk to this gentleman.
22:32They're completely right in describing that it's not normal behavior for somebody to just
22:37freak out like that, throw him in there and say it wasn't me when being confronted.
22:46Sounds like there's definitely a history, which is concerning because that could just mean
22:51escalation.
22:57We noticed tracks coming to my daughter's window.
23:00You came out, you walked around.
23:01He was coming out with his dog.
23:02His first reaction was to get in the car, slam the door.
23:05So this is the pictures that I took.
23:06Gotcha.
23:07Is that him?
23:07Yeah.
23:08Something like that.
23:08That's a driver's license for him.
23:10I absolutely do want to go talk to this gentleman.
23:33Just confirmed he was the one on the trail.
23:36Confirmed he has a dog.
23:36They said they saw dog footprints of a similar size to that type of dog.
23:41I looked at his ankles.
23:42I didn't see any cuts and scrapes from trees.
23:44That doesn't mean he wasn't there.
23:45Could have been wearing pants, any number of things.
23:48Unfortunately, we don't have proof he was actually on their property.
23:52If they didn't see him on the property, they only saw him on the trail.
23:58All we have is very suspicious behavior with a bunch of very suspicious circumstances.
24:02I definitely didn't have enough to detain him.
24:05This will definitely be just some information I'll pass along to our investigators to do some
24:09more follow-up on a gentleman like this.
24:24I'm Trooper Humphreys with Alaska Wildlife Troopers.
24:27I've been a trooper for about a year.
24:28As Alaska Wildlife Troopers, we're still Alaska State Troopers.
24:31We still enforce all the same laws as a blue shirt would.
24:35But our primary focus is on Alaska's resources like wildlife and fish.
24:41So today, we're going to work our way down to Prince William Sound looking for charter fishermen and sport fishermen.
24:46And Tripper Reed will be making our contacts, talking to people.
24:51Here we go.
24:58Alaska is a sportsman's paradise.
25:00Our job is just to make sure that they're playing by the rules.
25:04Certain violators at times lose their trucks, their boats, their guns.
25:08You know, if we have a major commercial fishing case out here today,
25:10it wouldn't be an unreal thing for us to take their boat back with us.
25:13What are you doing?
25:16You caught anything yet today?
25:18We did start fishing like five minutes.
25:20I think there's somewhere in the water.
25:24There you go.
25:26Let's see what it is.
25:30It's a sculpin.
25:31Hey, you might want to throw that one back.
25:36Do you mind if I check everyone's fishing license?
25:38Yeah.
25:38Oh, yeah.
25:40Right there, 2025.
25:43It says that yours expires today at 5 a.m.
25:49How would you know?
25:50A lot of people, they're new to boating, new to fishing.
25:53We want people to be successful, but these guys just had some minor violations.
25:57You guys are very, very nice.
26:00Unfortunately, you can't fish the rest of the day.
26:02The three young adults have chosen to wear their lights preservers.
26:05Here's three ice cream cones.
26:07Oh, look at that.
26:08He did give us ice cream cones.
26:09Look at that.
26:15He did give us ice cream cones.
26:24Yeah, so they're polite with us.
26:26You know, it goes a lot further.
26:29This is Blackstone Bay, Blackstone Glacier.
26:32It's considered a tidewater glacier, so the ice actually breaks off into the ocean.
26:36We'll see icebergs in here.
26:38Coming up on a boat that's trolling.
26:41They got rods out and down?
26:43Oh, yeah.
26:48How you doing today?
26:49How you doing, sir?
26:50Can you pull that rod up so we can tie off so I can check some fishing licenses?
26:54Can you reel in your line?
26:57We're going to tie up to you.
26:58Sir, I don't want you to get your license all wet.
27:01Just hold on one sec.
27:02Reel this one up.
27:04Oh.
27:06Oh.
27:08There goes your license.
27:09Oh.
27:12I think this is a language barrier in that sometimes people like to play games, too.
27:21That's the scalping.
27:23Look at this.
27:23There's a lot of fish on that back deck.
27:26Undersized lingcod.
27:27Lingcod need to be 35 inches and some pretty small one on the boat.
27:32Got a couple nice Pacific cod.
27:35This isn't super uncommon.
27:36When we find people that are overfishing, it's like gross negligence.
27:40They overfish at a max amount.
27:42And this has probably been happening for a bit.
27:45Do you guys have a permit for the shrimp?
27:53We haven't recorded them yet.
27:56What's going on with this?
27:59What's this?
28:01It's a bit.
28:02Sockeye?
28:02All bait?
28:03Yes.
28:04Using the personally used fish as bait, it's a misdemeanor crime.
28:07We have a lot to unpack here.
28:10And, you know, this boat here is a 30-foot Kingfisher.
28:13This is a $300,000 boat in Prince William Sound.
28:17These guys are capable of killing everything out here.
28:24There's a language barrier here, but, I mean, they have a shrimp permit.
28:28They have fishing licenses.
28:29They understand the process at some point.
28:32This is a criminal offense.
28:35That's a quill back.
28:36That's a china.
28:37Copy the interface.
28:39Yellow eye.
28:42We'll find a charity to give them to so that they don't go to waste.
28:46Well, give me a few minutes.
28:47It's a lot to think about.
28:53So we have eight over the limit.
28:56Sockeye salmon is bait.
28:57And failed to record shrimp.
28:59And no deep water release.
29:01So we have about $1,300 in citations.
29:04And they're going to be getting some mandatory court appearances.
29:07So those are, like, if we decide, like, hey, this is a repeat offense.
29:10It's happened multiple times.
29:11That's when we can apply for a search warrant.
29:13Seeds their boat and things like that.
29:17I have a couple of citations for you, sir.
29:20Gonna have to go see the judge for that, okay?
29:23I'm all good on cutting breaks when it's finer, but poaching and taking wildlife illegally.
29:28These are the guys that we want to find.
29:35All right, gentlemen, I sincerely hope you have a better day, okay?
29:42All these resources are held in public trust.
29:45And without enforcement, we wouldn't have any of this.
29:48Because Alaska is one of the last wild places.
29:51And we hope to keep it that way.
30:07Sergeant Raffrey, I work out of Nome.
30:10Been here for five years.
30:12Prior to being in Alaska, I was a deputy sheriff down in Florida.
30:16And we never got to drive anything like this to calls.
30:19There's all paved roads and things like that.
30:23We're on our way to call where someone uncovered some trash bags with some kind of remains in them.
30:29We're not sure what they are.
30:30Even if it seems like it might be nothing, it's super important for us to take all of these calls
30:35seriously.
30:35Just recently, in the last few weeks, we had an actual dead body wash up just outside of the city
30:41limits of Nome.
30:41It came from a village hundreds of miles south of us in the Bethel region.
30:45The way the currents worked, it happened to pick it up and bring it all the way up here to
30:50Nome.
30:51So much of Alaska's coastline is unpopulated.
30:54And so if that were to happen anywhere else, he probably would have never been found.
31:00Are you a .
31:01Hey.
31:03Turn up to the cabin.
31:04Okay.
31:05You'll see two black bags sticking out of the country.
31:08Okay, I'll head over there. Thanks.
31:16It's definitely possible that it's a person.
31:21Ah, here we are.
31:30There's definitely some kind of bones in here.
31:51Suspicious.
32:01It might be a dog.
32:03Looks like a leash and a collar there.
32:08Yep.
32:09It's a dog.
32:11Definitely not a person.
32:14I don't know if this was someone's pet that they buried.
32:17It's had a lot of storms here.
32:19So there's been a lot more erosion than usual.
32:21So it seems likely that's probably what made it show up.
32:24I'll take these and dispose of them somewhere else so more people don't get freaked out by it.
32:33A better case scenario, I can definitely say it's not a person.
32:37So that's really what's most important.
32:46You really never know what to expect here.
32:49Every day out here is a different thing.
33:11I'm Trooper Eric Burns, I'm with Alaska Wilder Troopers and Paramax.
33:14Today we have a search and rescue on the Delta River down near Black Rapids.
33:19We have four canoers.
33:21One of the canoes is currently out of service.
33:24And they have no way to get off the river.
33:26So we're going to go out there in the heel and pick them up real quick.
33:28The call did come in last night, but weather was bad.
33:31And they actually had supplies out there to survive overnight.
33:35So the decision was made to wait until the weather was a little bit better.
33:39It happens quite a bit up here in Alaska.
33:41If the situation were different, we might have had to respond differently.
33:44But they have enough supplies.
33:45Their plan was to camp out there anyway.
33:51So we weren't too worried about it.
33:53They were all native Alaskans and they kind of knew what they were getting into.
33:56But we still need to get out there because they only have one vessel.
33:59So no matter what, even if the boat was to go downriver,
34:01there's still going to be two people left behind.
34:12We do a lot of search and rescue calls up here.
34:15It's pretty high, isn't it?
34:17It is really high with all the rain we've had recently.
34:20It's called Black Rapids because it's a big whitewater area.
34:23I've had to camp out for an extra day because we had three-foot waves going upriver.
34:29Good lord.
34:33A lot of people come up here under the impression that it is easy to traverse the area,
34:37whereas weather can change quickly and if you're unprepared,
34:41you can get stuck in obscure situations.
34:47We were searching for about 30 minutes.
34:49We didn't manage to locate them.
34:50They were all wearing brightly colored clothing.
34:55We were able to land there.
34:56The gravel bars are all over the river.
35:03Oh, is this four of you?
35:04Everybody's all right, though?
35:05Yes.
35:06Just real quick, if I can't see if you have IDs, pitch lights,
35:08or anything like this.
35:09Nobody's in trouble?
35:10Just want to identify everybody.
35:12You saw the canoe down there?
35:14What's that?
35:14We didn't.
35:15The canoe's like 300 yards that way.
35:18Oh.
35:18It's a rock.
35:19I've done this float trip six times in a canoe.
35:22I've never seen the water this high.
35:24They've canoed this river apparently every year.
35:28And it's actually pinned against two rocks.
35:30Even though they were all experienced, it still actually just happened.
35:33As soon as the back started filling up with water,
35:36it just immediately sucked under.
35:38Even the most experienced can get in situations you can't get out of.
35:41Up here in Alaska, you just got to be prepared for everything.
35:44That was when they made it to the bank.
35:46Had the throwback.
35:47Saved their life, pretty much.
35:48We've never done this stuff.
35:50Gonna canoe again.
35:51No.
35:52Yeah.
35:52No.
35:53Yeah.
35:53There we go.
35:55So we're trained up here.
35:56This is one of the things that we do.
35:58If somebody gets in a bad situation, we try and do every means we can
36:01to try and get them out as safe as possible.
36:03Take care.
36:201B5 now.
36:21I'm an assault in Calcutta.
36:23Mail is reporting that his sister of Asha's face then.
36:27The caller hung up on us, but right before he hung up on us,
36:30he said, oh, so you're going to hit me now?
36:31So the CMS does not feel safe going in during the station.
36:3630 minutes.
36:38Go ahead and upgrade.
36:39Time for upgrading.
36:42Possible domestic assault actively occurring up in the Calcutta area.
36:49We got it.
36:5040 miles.
36:51We're going to try to get there as soon as possible.
36:53Even going this fast, it's still going to take us 30,
36:5740 minutes still to get there.
37:0160 seconds.
37:05Possible domestic assault actively occurring.
37:07Mail is reporting that it's Mr. Asha's face then.
37:13Back home, 38 , built-in.
37:15It's 1023.
37:22Come out.
37:24Show us your hands, please.
37:26Who's over there?
37:26That's my boyfriend.
37:27Your boyfriend.
37:28Okay.
37:28I'm going to come talk to you, okay?
37:30I want to figure out what happened.
37:33You're drunk?
37:36Can you reach this ladder for me?
37:38Do you need an ambulance?
37:39You don't need an ambulance?
37:41You got a cut on your head, though.
37:43That's me.
37:43Okay?
37:44Watch your stuff.
37:46Let's go.
37:47Let's walk over this way.
37:48Let's get you over here.
37:49Where the ****?
37:50Did you see that green jeep?
37:51I did.
37:52Was that her?
37:53Okay.
37:54So she's gone.
37:55Macklemore 3D, we were able to get him off the roof, and his sister has left the residence.
38:02Hey, you need to relax.
38:04**** you.
38:05Hey, I'm just talking to you, okay?
38:06No, **** you.
38:08What seems to be the problem?
38:10No, he's just...
38:11He needs to sleep.
38:12Well, we're here to help him, and now he's acting like this, so...
38:15He doesn't like...
38:16Cops?
38:17Okay.
38:18**** you.
38:19**** you, man.
38:21Hey.
38:22We need you to go sit down.
38:24I'm on money, man.
38:24No.
38:24No, no.
38:25I'm walking that way.
38:26You have to...
38:27I have the right to walk.
38:28We need to talk to you.
38:30Nope.
38:30Nope.
38:30We're talking to you.
38:31Do you...
38:31Leave me a little **** alone.
38:32We're talking to you.
38:34I have 38.
38:34Leave me the **** alone.
38:35The supposed victim's being very aggressive and refusing to talk to us, but he does have
38:40an injury.
38:41Here's a piece of ****.
38:42Just don't...
38:43Piece of ****.
38:44He's walking away down the street now.
38:45He doesn't want anything to do with us.
38:47Could be a better idea just to tell him, hey, man, we're just going to leave.
38:51We're going to give you this early conduct warning when you sober up.
38:53If you want to call us and tell us what happened, feel free.
38:58Where's he at?
39:00Neighbors.
39:01Is he allowed to be there?
39:02Yeah.
39:03What?
39:05No.
39:12Macklemore 38 **** is now trespassing on Aver's property and causing a disturbance.
39:16We're going to try to re-engage him.
39:20Well, if he's not allowed on that property, he has to get off that property.
39:23Go home.
39:24If you keep causing a problem, we're going to place you under arrest.
39:28Please.
39:28Go home, please.
39:30We don't want you to get in trouble.
39:32Can you arrest me?
39:33No.
39:33Go home.
39:34Please arrest me.
39:35No.
39:35You.
39:36Hey, sir, would you like him trespassed from your property?
39:38No.
39:39He just doesn't want to get some sleep.
39:41Walk back there, please.
39:42No.
39:42I'm going to **** him up.
39:43No, you're not.
39:44Walk back there.
39:45Go away.
39:45Just step back.
39:46Okay.
39:47All right.
39:49Don't do that.
39:49You're under arrest.
39:50Put your hands behind your back.
39:56Oh, boy.
39:57Oh, boy.
39:58This whole thing could have been avoided.
40:00It's just gone home.
40:01One, two, three.
40:05Came out here for one thing and are leaving with another thing, which happens in this job.
40:10Please.
40:10Let's go.
40:12Go get your car.
40:13I've had uncooperative victims, but I've never had to arrest one yet.
40:17Why are you doing this?
40:18Because I...
40:19We came out here to help you, man.
40:20One, two, three, stand.
40:22Oh, ****.
40:23You adjust on the fly as the situation demands it.
40:27We did what we had to do, place them under arrest for early conduct.
40:30Kind of unfortunate, we were really open to not go that level, but sometimes we don't
40:34really have a choice.
40:34We just, you know, they kind of determine what's going to happen next.
40:53I'm Trooper Bellist, and I work for the Alaska State Troopers in the Matsu Valley.
41:08We're going to have an upgraded response to this since it is with injury, so we can reasonably
41:14get there before medics arrive, if needed, provide life-saving measures.
41:27Vehicle went off the embankment.
41:49Medics are on their way, okay?
41:55Both individuals are currently trapped.
41:57Neither one appears to have lost consciousness.
42:00The passenger does have some laceration.
42:06The passenger was already brought up to the ambulance and will be transported to Matsu
42:11Regional to get medical attention.
42:14We're coming back for you, Miller.
42:16But the driver's still left inside because they can't take him out that side of the door.
42:20So, they're cutting the entire top of the car off so we can retrieve the driver.
42:28We're just far enough off the road where if you're cruising at the highway speed, you may
42:33not see it.
42:34It's a darker colored car, and then it was surrounded by trees.
42:37So, we're lucky somebody did notice the vehicle go off the road.
