A six-year-old boy from Pembrokeshire has put pen to paper to mark Sir David Attenborough's milestone 100th birthday, by drawing 100 of his favourite animals.
Max Evans-Browning from Neyland, carefully selected and hand drew 99 of the broadcasting legend’s favourite animals, for every year of his life.
To complete the collection, Max has now drawn a platysaurus attenboroughi, also known as Attenborough's flat lizard, which was named after the renowned biologist.
Sir David is not just a national treasure, but a global icon, who celebrates his 100th birthday on May 8.
Max has been a fan of Sir David for as long as he can remember, who would watch his documentaries every night before bed as a toddler.
"When I saw last year he was going to be 99, I said 'why don't we do 99 for him?' And then we did it and it went everywhere and then finally got to him and a message came back," said Max.
"So this year, because he's 100, I wanted to add one more on."
The 100th drawing took Max "all night" - his mum Samantha said.
The drawings sketched for Attenborough's 99th birthday last year spanned across eight A3 sheets of paper and took Max four days to complete.
Global recognition of Max's adoration began when his mum posted his drawings on Facebook. The post attracted hundreds of shares and caught the attention of Sir David himself.
Samantha said Max has watched all of Sir David's documentaries and owns more animal encyclopedias than she can keep track of!
With the pair still on cloud nine after receiving a hand-written letter from Sir David's previous birthday, Max has written another for his 100th, signing it off with a safety warning, stating: "I hope you have the best birthday and be careful blowing out 100 candles on your cake."

00:00Carefully drawn one by one, Mac's 100th animal, completing a collection of his drawings for a very special 100th birthday.
00:08A platysaurus attenboroughgy, but also known as the Attenborough flat-lizant.
00:17Last year, Mac drew 99 animals to mark Sir David Attenborough's 99th birthday.
00:22That's a lot of animals for a five-year-old, and I thought, OK, they did.
00:27It took a lot of paper, a lot of pens, a lot of patience, four days.
00:33Samantha shared the drawings online, and the response was overwhelming,
00:37so much so that Mac's received a letter back from the natural historian himself.
00:41This year, Mac's had to mark the milestone birthday by adding the new drawing and writing another letter.
00:48It says, I hope you have a good birthday.
00:53Be careful of going out all the 100 candles.
00:58Despite a 94-year age gap, Mac's has been a devoted fan since he was a toddler,
01:04watching Sir David Attenborough's documentaries every night before bed.
01:07So today was extra special when the post arrived.
01:11Dear Mac, thank you very much for the 100th birthday card you sent me recently.
01:18It was very kind of you. I have already had so many, so very many cards from children like you.
01:27That's going to have to go with the other one.
01:28Happy but shocked.
01:29Happy but shocked, yeah.
01:31An aspiring zookeeper and explorer, Mac will be celebrating his hero's milestone birthday tomorrow,
01:37wearing a David Attenborough T-shirt and with birthday cake, of course.
01:41Yeah, we're not 100 candles on it.
01:44Otherwise it would have to be a cake about that big.
01:47Yes.
01:48Well, at least about that.
