00:00P.B. Shelley, whose words sparked a revolution.
00:05Percy B. Shelley, famously known as P.B. Shelley, was born in 1792 in Sussex, England, into a wealthy aristocratic
00:14family.
00:15From a young age, he showed a sharp mind and a deep love for literature and ideas.
00:21He studied at Eton and later at Oxford University, where his unconventional writings led to his expulsion.
00:32That moment shaped his life as a wandering, independent thinker.
00:38Shelley spent much of his later years in Europe, especially Italy, where he wrote powerful poetry inspired by nature, emotion,
00:48and freedom.
00:49He was part of the Romantic movement and shared a close intellectual world with fellow poet John Keats, united by
00:59beauty, imagination, and human struggle.
01:04Shelley died young in 1822 at the age of just 29.
01:10His boat sank in a storm off the coast of Italy.
01:15After his death, he was cremated.
01:18His body was burned into ashes on the beach, and his remains were later buried in the Protestant cemetery in
01:26Rome.
01:26And in death, Shelley rests in the same Roman cemetery where John Keats lies.
01:34So, two friends, two poets, reunited in silence.
01:39When his body was cremated, those present witnessed a strange and unforgettable scene.
01:46Shelley's heart, Shelley's heart did not burn.
01:50It was carefully preserved and kept aside, and later it was given to his wife, Mary Shelley.
01:58Mary Shelley kept his heart with her until the end of her life.
02:02After her death in 1851, the heart was finally buried in 1889.
02:10Shelley's body may have turned to ash, but his ideas never did.
02:16His words still rise like fire through time, challenging power and dreaming of freedom,
02:24as he once wrote in his famous poem, Music when soft voices die.
02:30In this poem, he says,
02:33Music when soft voices die,
02:36Vibrates in the memory.
02:39Odors, when sweet violets sicken,
02:43Live within the sense they quicken.
02:45Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
02:49Are heaved for the beloved's pet,
02:52And so thy thoughts,
02:54When thou art gone,
02:56Love itself shall slumber on.
03:00If Shelley's words still vibrate in your memory,
