00:19Welcome to the Kelly Clark School Show!
00:24Today we want to get started looking back at a kellyoke we really enjoyed doing.
00:28Here's me and my band y'all with Dwight Gilcombe's Ain't That Lonely Yet.
01:17After what you put me through, no I ain't that lonely yet.
01:28There's nothing less you can do to try to bring me around.
01:35Cause everything you do just brings me down.
01:42Well I ain't that lonely yet.
01:49No I ain't that lonely yet.
01:54That's the world you put me through.
01:58No I ain't that lonely yet.
02:02I ain't that lonely yet.
02:09Give it up for my band y'all.
02:15Alright let's move over to our first guest who is truly one of the greatest actors of our time.
02:21I'm very excited.
02:22She is an Oscar, Tony, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Emmy winner.
02:27All the things.
02:28You've seen her iconic roles in The Exorcist, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Requiem for a Dream, House of Cards,
02:34Interstellar.
02:35We can keep going.
02:36But I want to talk to her.
02:37Just an incredible career that has spanned over eight decades and she's still going.
02:42She has a new book out called Poetry Says It Better, Poems to Help You Wake Up.
02:46You can find it wherever books are sold.
02:48Everybody please give a warm welcome to Ellen Burstyn.
03:09If you would have told me that I'd be talking to you one day, I would have thought you were
03:15a liar.
03:15I'm such a fan.
03:16You have just such a glorious career in so many facets of this industry.
03:21Thank you for coming.
03:23I'm very excited that you're here.
03:25Is it true that I find this funny.
03:28This book is for people who don't like poetry?
03:31Uh huh.
03:32What?
03:33Yes.
03:34What?
03:34Yeah, it happened one day when I was working out with my trainer and I said I wanted to recite
03:45a poem to her.
03:45And I said, do you read poetry?
03:48And she went, no.
03:50I can't let that.
03:52I scoffed.
03:53Dear, what is that?
03:55So when we went upstairs for massage, I read her a Mary Oliver poem.
04:03And she said, oh, that's not sappy.
04:08And I thought, oh, she thinks poetry is roses are red, violets are blue.
04:14Yeah.
04:14You know?
04:15I thought, that's really too bad.
04:18So I introduced her to poetry and she said, oh, I really like this.
04:23So that put a thought in my head that maybe other people there are in the world who would like
04:31to be introduced poetry the way I know it and understand it and the way it's affected me.
04:37So somebody said, well, let's write a book about poetry.
04:39And I went, ding.
04:41Okay.
04:42So that's what I did.
04:43How did you choose?
04:44Because it's such a specific thing, too.
04:46Like, I bet it, I bet once she found, you know, your trainer, once she finds, you know, poets that
04:51really touch her, then she leans more in.
04:53Like, how did you choose which poems to put to you?
04:55Well, I did it sort of autobiographically.
04:58I remembered the first poem that really touched me deeply when I was in high school.
05:06Yeah.
05:08And the end of the poem is, the last words are, I am the master of my fate, I am
05:16the captain of my soul.
05:18And I went, yes.
05:20Yeah.
05:20My life doesn't always have to be like this, which wasn't so hot.
05:24Yeah.
05:25I am the master of my fate.
05:27You choose.
05:28You decide.
05:28I can do what I want with my life.
05:31And it just, it moved me so much that I started paying attention to other poets and poetry in general.
05:38And I've just found it a very rich source of wisdom and fun and understanding and ideas.
05:49And it's just really fed me, fed me spiritually and intellectually in every other way in my life.
05:57Which, hell yeah.
05:58Anything that can feed you spiritually, I'm down.
06:01I choose that.
06:02So besides reading poetry, you do something that I love.
06:04My friend actually introduced this to me.
06:07She was like, you know, instead of all the gifts, why don't you do experiences?
06:10Like with the kids or like with your family.
06:12And you do that.
06:13You're big on that, right?
06:14Like.
06:14Yeah.
06:15I read one time that said, don't waste your money on buying things, buying experiences.
06:21It's brilliant.
06:21My favorite one of those experiences was I went with a spiritual group to Egypt.
06:27And it was the end of 1983.
06:30Yeah.
06:30And I decided New Year's Eve and 1984 is coming up and that's the future.
06:38Why don't I greet it from the top of the pyramid?
06:43That's a good idea.
06:45So I found a guide and I went at night and he helped climb with me up to the top.
06:52And I was very surprised when I got up there.
06:54I thought it would be empty, but it was full of people with cameras and tripods and everything.
07:00And then I sat on the edge of it and waited facing where the sun was going to rise.
07:05And the most remarkable thing happened.
07:08All the dogs all the way around were barking.
07:13And then all of a sudden they stopped.
07:16And then all the horses started whinnying.
07:20And they did that for a while.
07:23And then they stopped.
07:25And then the camels went.
07:27And they took turns all the way around.
07:31The whole breed, whatever it was, would all make their sounds at the same time.
07:37And then finally, just as we were getting to sunrise, it stopped.
07:45There was a moment of silence and then cock-a-doodle-doo.
07:52And the sun came up over the Great Pyramid of Egypt.
07:57Yeah.
07:58Now that's an experience.
08:00Oh, that's incredible.
08:02We need to do a few commercials.
08:03Let's have someone in the audience help us out.
08:06Hi, Kelly.
08:07I'm Annie.
08:08Ellen, it's an honor to see you here.
08:10Like you, I'm a huge fan of poetry.
08:11I even host a monthly poetry reading at my apartment in Bushwick.
08:15I especially love that you choose to include Edgar Allan Poe in your book.
08:18Stay here.
08:19Kelly has more with Ellen after this.
08:32We are back with Oscar Winner Emily Burstyn.
08:37Our new book is called Poetry Says It Better, Poems to Help You Wake Up.
08:41So you include your favorite poems in your book.
08:44And one is When Death Comes by Mary Oliver.
08:47Mary Oliver.
08:48And it goes, I hope I don't mess this up for you.
08:51I want to step through the door full of curiosity, wondering, what is it going to be like, that cottage
08:57of darkness?
08:58So why is that one movie?
09:00I love it.
09:01Yeah.
09:02I think it sounds more hopeful and less scary about death.
09:04And I think people are afraid to talk about death a lot.
09:07Yeah.
09:07And I think it's really important that we do talk about death.
09:10Yeah.
09:11And that we prepare for it and know what we're, you know, going to face.
09:16Yeah.
09:17Because when the moment comes, it's no time then to say, gee, I should have learned how you do this.
09:24Yeah.
09:25You know, when I say learn how to do it, how to mentally enter into that state.
09:32So people who have learned to meditate can do it better than people who are just like, oh, my God,
09:39oh, my God, here it is.
09:41I might be the latter.
09:44I need to meditate.
09:45I love the full of curiosity, though, because I think people see it as an ending and you don't know.
09:51It could be a whole beginning.
09:52You know what I'm saying?
09:52You just don't know.
09:53Well, you know, there's been a lot of studies about people who have temporarily died and then brought back to
10:01life.
10:01And they describe a whole process of going through a tunnel of light and, you know, being met by people
10:08and then it being reversed.
10:10I did a movie about it years ago called Resurrection where we show that, actually.
10:18And, you know, there's been a lot of studies recently where I've been reading, oh, it seems like there's a
10:26process when you die.
10:28And there are various stages of it.
10:30And the brain stays aware for a while.
10:36So I'm looking forward to being able to navigate that and be curious about that cottage of darkness, as Mary
10:45Ellicott says.
10:46It's so beautifully put.
10:48I don't mean too soon, by the way.
10:51I can wait a little bit.
10:53Yeah.
10:53I still have another book to write.
10:56I love it.
10:57But you won an Oscar for Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore.
11:00Well done.
11:01It's so great.
11:02I did not know this.
11:03You had to fight for a different ending.
11:05Right?
11:06Yeah.
11:07Yeah.
11:11Yeah, it did.
11:13Yeah.
11:13Yeah.
11:15She, all the way through, I don't know if you've seen this movie.
11:18It was some time ago.
11:20You probably hadn't been born yet.
11:22I've seen it.
11:23Yeah.
11:25She had a dream to go to Monterey, I think.
11:29Mm-hmm.
11:30Mm-hmm.
11:30And she was trying to get there.
11:32She was hitchhiking with her kid across the country.
11:34And she has a relationship with a Kris Kristofferson character who has a ranch nearby.
11:41And by the end of the film, there was some, we got into, was I going on to Monterey or
11:51was I going to stay with the guy?
11:55And I had her going on to Monterey because Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore was like the first film told
12:02from a woman's point of view.
12:04So I didn't want her to give up her dream and, you know, end up in a happy marriage with
12:09the guy.
12:09I wanted her to go on.
12:12You wanted her to give up her dreams.
12:14Yeah.
12:14Yeah.
12:16And the head of the studio, John Kelly, said, no, no, no, she has to go on with the guy.
12:21And we kept rewriting it, rewriting it so that it would justify her staying.
12:27And he kept insisting, no, she has to go on with the guy.
12:31And I said, but John, if she, and I started to argue my point.
12:35And he said, let me put it this way.
12:37If she doesn't end up with the guy, we're not making the film.
12:44Oh, I see.
12:46What do we do about that?
12:48So we were shooting the film and we had no ending.
12:51We kept trying to figure out how we were going to satisfy John Kelly and ourselves.
12:56And finally, it was the day before we were going to shoot the end of this scene.
13:00And Marty Scorsese was the director.
13:03And he had this wonderful way of, at the end of the day, the actors rehearsing the next day's work.
13:11And we could improvise.
13:13It didn't have to be exactly as written.
13:15So we go into the scene, this last scene that we have to come up with the ending.
13:20And all of a sudden, Chris Christopherson says, come on, I'll take you to Monterey.
13:27I said, you will?
13:29He said, yeah, I don't give a damn about that ranch.
13:32She'll sell it.
13:34And so we had the end of the scene.
13:38We ended up, the guy took me and followed my dream and he came along.
13:45Yeah.
13:45So that's the end of the movie.
13:47Which is so crazy because that's like one of the most loved parts of the film.
13:52Well, you see, at that time when we made the film, every movie made was told from the man's point
14:01of view.
14:01That's what I'm saying, yeah.
14:03I had shot The Exorcist and John Kelly was looking, who was the head of Warner Brothers, was looking at
14:09the dailies every day.
14:11And he called my agent and he said, we want to do another movie with this girl.
14:15So they started to send me the scripts that they had with a female part in it.
14:22And all of the parts were like, the man goes out to save the world and his wife stays home
14:31to make him a cup of tea when he returns.
14:33Wow.
14:34You know?
14:35Yeah.
14:40The physical comedy is great.
14:44I just wasn't excited about that.
14:47Yeah.
14:48Yeah.
14:49That plot.
14:51Yeah.
14:51So we kept trying to come up with something that was from a woman's point of view.
14:58And we finally found this script that was a standard love affair.
15:03And I wanted it to be a woman's point of view.
15:07I wanted to make a film like a woman, like my friends, like we were all facing at the time.
15:14It was just the beginning of the women's movement.
15:16And nobody heard of doing a film from a woman's point of view.
15:21You know, so it took a lot of adjusting along the way.
15:26Yeah.
15:26And it turned out that it was a man who came up with the idea that he'd go along with
15:31us.
15:32Yeah.
15:34And that was the new woman's point of view.
15:38So technically from a man, that's incredible.
15:41Yeah.
15:41Thank you so much for being here.
15:43I'm such a big fan.
15:45It's such an honor to have you here.
15:48You're incredible.
15:50Everybody give it up for Ellen Burstyn.
15:52Her book is called Poetry Says a Better Post to help you wake up.
15:56You can find it wherever books are sold.
15:58Actor Charles Milton is here next.
16:13Welcome back, y'all.
16:14You've seen our next guest in shows like Riverdale, American Horror Story,
16:18and in his award-winning role in the film May December alongside Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore.
16:23Right now, he plays a former high school football star and current wannabe fitness influencer,
16:27lost and confused within an increasingly thick web of deception in season two of Beef.
16:33All episodes are out now on Netflix.
16:35The system is designed to make you feel despair.
16:39Like the disparity is systemic.
16:43You know what I mean?
16:45Like income inequality?
16:47Yes.
16:48Exactly.
16:48You know the 16-piece at KFC is $52.99 right now.
16:52How often are you going to KFC?
16:54That's not my point.
16:55It's on the way to work.
16:56Look, what I'm trying to say is none of this is your fault.
17:01Okay?
17:03The people in charge have made it impossible for us.
17:07Thanks.
17:08Welcome back to the show of Charles Matthews.
17:28Oh, my God.
17:29Well, congratulations.
17:30You just welcomed a baby, right, recently?
17:32I did.
17:32I did.
17:33Yes.
17:33How is being a daddy?
17:35It's the best thing.
17:37But 20 minutes ago, I was FaceTiming my partner and saw our baby there in a park and I just
17:44started.
17:45I know, because you're not there.
17:46That happens.
17:47Yeah.
17:48But it's been amazing.
17:49It's like the best part of everything.
17:51I'm going to totally get to why you're here, but I just love the baby thing.
17:54But what drew you to being a part of Beef?
17:57Other than, I mean, the huge success of the first one, obviously.
17:59Yeah.
18:00Yeah.
18:01Lee Seung Jin Sunny.
18:02Yeah.
18:02The creator, director.
18:04He was, I mean, I loved.
18:05It was during May-December Press and then I saw him.
18:08He showed me on his phone this PowerPoint presentation.
18:11I think he just copied and pasted it like seconds before he showed me and was like, this
18:15is in our writer's room.
18:17And I was like, oh, is the character inspired by, you know, my hair, my style?
18:22And he was like, no, we're writing it for you.
18:25So.
18:25What?
18:26Yeah.
18:27How big of a compliment is that?
18:29I know.
18:30Yeah.
18:30And it was like, he gave me a North Star of where he wanted it to end.
18:33Yeah.
18:34But then, you know, that just kind of spawned thousands of hours of conversations and getting
18:41to know each other's experiences, talking about the shadow self, the subconscious and all
18:46the woo-woo, wah-wah stuff that I love.
18:49Yeah.
18:49Yeah.
18:49You know, and then beef became what beef is.
18:53Yeah.
18:54I heard you got injured on set.
18:55How so?
18:56Oh, gosh.
18:58So, no spoilers, but we were, it was episode eight and it's a running shot.
19:03It's an incredible running shot.
19:05We did maybe six takes of me just running.
19:08And they're like, we got it.
19:09But I felt like I wasn't running fast enough.
19:11And I'm a former, you know, collegiate athlete.
19:14I ran the 100-meter dash in high school in 10.9 seconds.
19:17You're proving something.
19:18You're proving something.
19:19Hey!
19:21Drop.
19:24Drop.
19:26Please don't cut that.
19:27Please don't cut that.
19:28Yeah.
19:29That's incredible.
19:30Wait, but this is when it goes bad.
19:32When ego comes in.
19:33And you're like, no, but wait.
19:35And then that's when it happens.
19:36Yeah.
19:37And, you know, I thought I was, you know, I was still that 17-year-old that did that.
19:43Ran the 100-meter dash in 10.9 seconds.
19:45Yeah.
19:46Say it again.
19:46I love it.
19:47I love it.
19:48So I wasn't that same 17-year-old that ran the 100-meter dash in 10.9 seconds.
19:54Okay.
19:54That's the last time.
19:55That's the last time.
19:56That's the last time.
19:56Stop laughing because I'll keep on going.
19:59Uh, uh, uh.
20:01So I go up to Sonny and Jake and I go, hey, like, I know we got it, but let
20:07me do one more.
20:09Tom Cruise.
20:10Oh.
20:11Wow.
20:11So I go all out.
20:14Hamstring snaps.
20:15I hobble to the taxi cab.
20:18And then so there's a scene where I'm running in episode eight in the finale and I'm actually limping.
20:24That's a real limp.
20:25Mmm.
20:26That's a real limp.
20:26It was for your craft.
20:28It was for the art.
20:29For all of it.
20:30For all of it.
20:30And so, um, I went to go get a shot, cortisone shot.
20:36Yeah.
20:37And I was like, how long is it going to take for the cortisone to like kick in?
20:41And they go, oh, no, it's not cortisone.
20:42I was like, what is it?
20:44They go, oh, it's extracted DNA from salmon sperm.
20:52We talk about salmon sperm on this show way too much.
20:57You are like the fourth guest I've talked about salmon sperm.
21:01What is up with salmon sperm?
21:03There's some healing sperm in there.
21:05What the hell?
21:08They, that's what they put in there?
21:10They put it in there and it, I don't know if it healed it or if it was.
21:14How do you feel?
21:15I mean, it feels amazing.
21:19The skin there.
21:21It's so soft.
21:22It's so soft.
21:25Sometimes caviar leaks from it.
21:27Oh my God.
21:28Um, congrats though.
21:30This is a really great season.
21:31It's such a great cast.
21:33Well done.
21:34Yeah.
21:34It's incredible.
21:36We have to take a quick break.
21:37I'm going to go get a salmon sperm facial.
21:40Beef season two is out now on Netflix.
21:43Comedian and humanitarian Robert Smigel joins us next.
21:57Welcome back everybody.
21:59Our next guest is an actor, comedian and writer who rose to fame as part of Saturday Night Live
22:03for over a decade.
22:05He also wrote the films Hotel Transylvania and Leo.
22:08You can catch him on his new podcast, Humor Me with Robert Smigel and Friends.
22:12He also helped launch the annual event, Night of Too Many Stars, a benefit for autism school services
22:17and programs.
22:18Let's welcome Robert Smigel, y'all.
22:40You came running.
22:42I don't know.
22:42I don't want to brag, but in high school I ran the 100 meters in 10.7 seconds.
22:53Oh, man.
22:54It's a shame.
22:55It's a shame, but we'll have to let him know.
22:57We'll have to let him know.
22:58You're hilarious.
22:59You came running out.
23:00I was like, you're so funny.
23:02So, your career really took off in this building, right?
23:05With SNL, right?
23:05I love, yeah.
23:08I worked in this building on and off for 20 years.
23:10I started at SNL and then I left for a little bit.
23:13Had some failures.
23:14Came back.
23:15Did some cartoons here.
23:16Yeah.
23:17Did the TV Fun House.
23:18Anybody holding up?
23:20But comedy is still your thing.
23:22It's still your thing.
23:22Comedy is still my thing.
23:23It's always going to be your thing.
23:24So, you're doing a podcast now, right?
23:25New podcast.
23:25I'm doing a podcast.
23:26It's called Humor Me with Robert Smigel and Friends.
23:30And it's, you know, I'm getting old and that's what people do now when they're-
23:35With a podcast?
23:35They do podcasts, yeah.
23:36And it was actually my wife's idea.
23:38Oh.
23:39Yeah.
23:40Because I didn't want to do a typical podcast where I just, you know, because there's so
23:45many.
23:45Yeah, you want to do something different.
23:47So-
23:47I like yours.
23:47You end up helping people, right?
23:49Yes.
23:49Yeah.
23:49Oh, yes.
23:50It's a very charitable show.
23:53What we do is-
23:54It's funny.
23:54Yeah, yeah.
23:55We help people.
23:56So I bring on, like, two comedians or comedy writers, people that I love working with
24:01and will want a spotlight.
24:02Because the most fun part of being a comedy writer is, like, the genesis of the idea.
24:08Then you actually have to bring the dog puppet to Hawaii and hump people on the shoulder.
24:13And it's not as glamorous as it sounds.
24:15No, but coming up with stuff with writers is so much fun.
24:19And my wife said, why don't you bring on writers and make it interactive?
24:23And, like, if somebody has to make a speech at a wedding or somebody has a job interview,
24:28then they come on and you punch up the job interview or the, you know, so we've had everybody-
24:35Make it shine.
24:36Yeah.
24:36And we've had everybody from, like, a guy in an acapella group who wanted banter between songs.
24:43He wanted them to be funnier.
24:45And we had a mom who wanted to break up with her mom group in a diplomatic way.
24:51Oh, my gosh.
24:52Like, write a letter that didn't hurt their feelings and made them laugh but still get out of there.
24:57But was, like, unsubscribe?
24:59Yeah, pretty much.
25:00Yeah.
25:00Oh, my God.
25:01That's so great.
25:02Yeah.
25:03No, we have so much fun doing it.
25:05So, before you go, you have Night of Too Many Stars coming up.
25:08Yes.
25:09So, explain what it is.
25:09And it's actually different this year, too.
25:11Well, it's in L.A.
25:12We've always done it in New York.
25:14We've done it on TV at times.
25:15I like doing it live because then comedians, we can get more comedians who are willing to do their acts.
25:21Yeah.
25:21But we always have, we have an amazing lineup this year.
25:25Conan's going to be there and Jon Stewart hosts and Steve Carell and Adam Sandler and Nikki Blazer and Sarah
25:30Silverman and Bill Burr and Noah Wiley.
25:34Showing up.
25:34Yeah, we've got a lot of great people.
25:36And besides doing stand-up, we have a lot of fun with interactive live auctions that we do.
25:45Crazy stuff where people in the audience actually bid to come on stage and do something with, like, for example,
25:54in the past we've had.
25:55Oh, my God.
25:56Please tell the bathroom one.
25:57Oh, you got it.
25:58Okay.
25:59This is awesome.
26:01Seth Rogen was a guest once and he auctioned off the opportunity to take a with him.
26:09And so, you know, people bid.
26:12They walked in.
26:14Like $30,000.
26:15Stood next to each other.
26:16And they, yes, they just hit the.
26:17It's all for a good cause.
26:18The camera follows them.
26:19The camera followed them downstairs into the urinal, into the bathroom of the Beacon Theater.
26:25And side by side, they just did it.
26:28And $30,000 later, autism programs were.
26:34If only they knew where the money is coming from.
26:37That's amazing.
26:38They don't care.
26:38They don't care.
26:39No, but that's, like, an incredibly funny way to, like, raise money.
26:43Yes.
26:43We had, like, Chris Rock chew out a girl's ex on the phone.
26:47That was, like, people bid.
26:49Yeah.
26:49Chris Rock will chew out your ex.
26:51You can hear it right now.
26:52Yes.
26:52And that I cannot recreate for this audience.
26:54But, yeah.
26:55Oh, my God.
26:56That's so funny.
26:57I love it so much.
26:58Thank you so much.
26:59Give it up for Robert Young.
27:01The 2026 Night of Too Many Stars, autism benefit will be held May 7th at the Hollywood Bowl
27:07as part of the Netflix as a Joke Festival.
27:10And check out Robert's new podcast, Humor Me with Robert Smigel and Friends, premiering Friday
27:14on iHeart Podcast and Big Money Players Network.
27:17We're going to be right back.
27:33Welcome back.
27:34It's always a treat when my next guest is here, back with incredible deals courtesy of our
27:38friends at MorningSave.com.
27:39Give it up for Lawrence Zarian.
27:41Hey, everybody.
27:42Oh, it's nice.
27:44Welcome.
27:45So, here's the thing.
27:45I've asked you this question before.
27:47What?
27:48Can you feel it?
27:49The chemistry?
27:50The chemistry?
27:50Yeah.
27:51Oh, let's do an album.
27:52Do you feel the chemistry?
27:53Do you also feel the heat?
27:54You're good.
27:55You know why?
27:56Yeah.
27:56Yeah.
27:56Here's why we feel the heat.
27:57Because summer's coming, right?
27:58Yeah.
27:58Who's ready for summer?
27:59Me.
28:01But here's the thing.
28:02We can celebrate until we prepare.
28:04Okay.
28:05Which is why I brought four incredible deals that are super hot for summer, but also really
28:11cool on the pocketbook.
28:12You're welcome.
28:13Okay.
28:13Okay.
28:14So, let's start with this.
28:15This is the two-pack Frigidaire Cooling Neck Fan.
28:19It is like a personal breeze you can take everywhere.
28:23Now, the lightweight design sits comfortably while you work, drive, or you watch this beautiful
28:30couple on the Kelly Clarkson Show on TV.
28:33Doing their thing.
28:34Yeah.
28:34Doing their thing.
28:35And I'm going to be honest.
28:36Let's break it down.
28:37For my ladies with hot flashes, no shame.
28:41I'm telling you right now, we come for everybody.
28:43This baby is a lifesaver.
28:45Plus, you don't get one.
28:46You get how many?
28:47You get two.
28:48Now, this two-pack retails for up to $100, but Morning Save said, what the neck?
28:54No.
28:55No.
28:55Yeah.
28:56Morning Save said, what the neck?
28:58And they huffed and puffed and blew away 76%.
29:03And you get it for a cool $24.
29:07A cool $24.
29:08Yeah.
29:09That was my favorite.
29:10I like it.
29:10That was my favorite.
29:11That was pretty good.
29:12Wow.
29:13What the face?
29:14Okay.
29:15Here's the thing.
29:15Now, while it's important to feel good during the summer, dare I say it's more important
29:22to look good.
29:23Drink it up.
29:24Yeah.
29:25Look good.
29:25Right?
29:25Right?
29:26Okay.
29:26And here's the thing.
29:27And you'll look.
29:30You'll look incredible.
29:31So good this summer with this.
29:34Okay.
29:35It is the Secret Collagen Lumina Care LED Face and Neck Mask Duo.
29:41Okay.
29:43Let's face it, Kelly.
29:45With all that summer sun, right?
29:47It can damage your skin and make you look older.
29:50And who wants that?
29:51Not me.
29:52Not today.
29:52Why?
29:53Because this device uses multi-spectrum LED light therapy to help reduce the appearance
29:59of fine lines and brighten dull areas.
30:03Plus, it covers both your face and your neck.
30:06Now, this duo retails for up to $550.
30:10But morning save, that price looked dull.
30:13It was tired and wrinkled.
30:16So what did they do?
30:17They gave it a glow up by taking off 82% and you get it for just $99.99.
30:24Okay.
30:24Now, summer is probably one of the best times to refresh your what?
30:29Sheets.
30:30Oh, your sheets and your bedding.
30:31I just guessed, you know?
30:32You know everything.
30:34I'm so smart.
30:34And I have something that everyone will love because, in fact, it's been our fastest selling
30:39deal of the year.
30:42All right.
30:42So pay attention so you can get on board to the sheet game.
30:46This is the Dream Guard four-piece moisture-wicking sheet set.
30:50This hypoallergenic and microfiber set is designed to be lightweight and easy to care for.
30:56Plus, it's moisture-wicking when it's humid outside.
30:59So no matter the temperature, these sheets feel soft and smooth as you glide into bed, Kelly.
31:05As you glide.
31:06Glide into bed.
31:07It's available in how many colors?
31:08I have options.
31:09Six colors.
31:11And in sizes twin to king.
31:13I get both.
31:14Now, you get one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and two pillowcases.
31:18All right.
31:18And this set retails for up to $76 to $171, depending on the size.
31:23But morning save, what do they do?
31:25Well, just not today.
31:27Yes.
31:27That's not...
31:27They ironed out that price.
31:29They ironed it away.
31:30They ironed it away.
31:30By up to 88%.
31:32Every size is just $20.
31:35Pick this up for your bedroom, for your guest room, for your son's room.
31:39Okay.
31:39For every room.
31:40All right.
31:41All right.
31:41Okay.
31:45Now, here's the thing, Kelly.
31:47Yes.
31:47Pay attention.
31:48Because technically, it's still spring and pollens and allergens are still in the air.
31:53Right, people?
31:54Yes.
31:54The cough and the sneeze.
31:56Summer sometimes brings wildfires, too, with all that smoke.
32:00But regardless of what's going on on the outside, you're going to breathe in easy on the inside.
32:05Yeah, you are.
32:05In your home with what, Lawrence?
32:07What?
32:08I'll tell you this, Kelly.
32:09Yeah.
32:09This is the Sharper Image Purify 5 triple stage HEPA air purifier.
32:16This little guy is like the bouncer at the swankiest club in town.
32:21Yo, you.
32:22Dust.
32:23Hey, you.
32:23I'm talking to you.
32:24Pollen.
32:25Yeah, you.
32:25You take a hike.
32:27Oh, my God.
32:27Now, according to the brand, it removes 99.7% of airborne pollutants.
32:34Okay.
32:34And it's available in not one, but two colors.
32:37Black or white.
32:38Now, this filter retails for up to $120.
32:42But morning save.
32:43Not today.
32:43I'll tell you.
32:44Not today, Satan.
32:46Oh, my God.
32:46What did morning save do?
32:48Yo.
32:48No.
32:48They filtered away 71%.
32:51And you get it?
32:52Fantastic.
32:53For just $29.99.
32:57That's pretty good.
32:58And that's how you do summer and keep cool prices.
33:00Okay.
33:01I like it.
33:02I like it.
33:02I love you.
33:03Give it up for Lawrence, y'all.
33:04Yeah.
33:05And if these glass criminals are living up LGBT a day, be sure to follow him on Instagram
33:09at Lawrence Zarian.
33:10But first, head to MorningSave.com because these deals go fast.
33:13We'll be right back with a performance from Willa Ford.
33:15Don't go away.
33:18Don't go away.
33:20Come on.
33:22Don't go away.
33:23Don't go away.
33:29Welcome back, everybody.
33:31Our next guest is a very talented singer-songwriter who started putting out music more than two
33:35decades ago.
33:36Her latest album is called, Amanda, which is her given name, performing a reimagining of
33:40her hit song, I Want to Be Bad in honor of its 25th anniversary.
33:44Give it up for Willa Ford.
33:44Get ready.
33:54Why not?
34:14I'll show you everything that she can be, everything that I can need.
34:20My turn, let me let you know that no, I can't promise that I won't do that.
34:25So boy, save the time and place, cause you make me wanna misbehave.
34:29I wanna be there, you make that look so good.
34:34I've got things on my mind, I never thought I would.
34:39I wanna be there, you make that feel so good.
34:44I'm losing all my cool, I'm about to break the rules.
34:50I wanna be there.
35:04What's up?
35:05Tell me what to do, how to teach me all your rules from A to Z.
35:09But I don't want your other girl to see that you're messing around with me.
35:13Should I fly?
35:16Tell you what I got is what you want.
35:18Tell me do I turn you on and don't want no one judging me.
35:24I wanna be there, you make that look so good.
35:28I've got things on my mind, I never thought I would.
35:34I wanna be there, you make that feel so good.
35:39I'm losing all my cool, I'm about to break the rules.
35:46I wanna be there, you make that look so good.
35:50I've got things on my mind, I never thought I would.
35:56I wanna be there, you make that feel so good.
36:01I'm losing all my cool, I'm about to break the rules.
36:07I wanna be, I wanna be there, you make that feel so good.
36:29I wanna be babe
36:51Thank you for coming tonight
36:57One more time, we'll tear for Willa Ford, y'all
36:59Her new album, Amanda, is out now
37:01The vinyl version is available to pre-order online
37:03And includes a bonus recording of I Wanna Be Bad
37:05We'll be right back with What I'm Liking
37:17All right, y'all, we have a little more great story to share
37:19Before we go, this is What I'm Liking
37:24As you may know, our music director Jason is also a very talented author
37:28He and his wife have released two bestsellers as part of the Good Pasture Chronicles
37:32And their third in the series is out next month
37:34They also just started their own imprint
37:37And we have their first non-fiction author with us right now
37:40His new book is called Wait, Where Am I in This?
37:43And it's out today
37:43Let's say hi to Dr. Lee Long
37:45What's up?
37:46Nice to meet you
37:47Hi, how are you?
37:48Hi, so good
37:49So good to see you
37:50Nice to have you here
37:51Yeah, thank you
37:51Okay, so congrats and tell us about the book
37:53What's it about?
37:54Thank you
37:54Well, you know, we live in a world that's very divided
37:58And we tend to look outside of ourselves to make changes
38:02I mean, people show up in my therapy office
38:04Expecting us to change other people
38:06But we don't have control over that
38:08Yeah
38:08It's us, right?
38:10Right, and so this book is
38:12The foundation of this book is centered around a question that I've asked for the last almost
38:1730 years in my office
38:18And it's, where am I in this?
38:20But the title is Wait, Where Am I in This?
38:24Well, in our field, there has to be a lot of acronyms for everything
38:27Yeah
38:27And so Wait is actually, where am I in this?
38:32Yeah
38:32But it's also the pause to take a beat, just to find yourself in the situation
38:37We have to change ourselves to understand the world
38:40Jason, I have to ask you, what made y'all want to do an imprint?
38:42I didn't know y'all were going to do that
38:43Yeah, we decided to go independent when we were starting our publishing company
38:47To release the book ourselves because we have control issues, you know
38:50And so after we built that infrastructure and released ours
38:54We fell in love with the process of helping people tell their stories
38:57And we decided we wanted to make this available for other authors
39:00And fortunately, Lee, who helped Ron and I through a lot of our trauma over the years
39:04And he's really helped us, and I think it's an important message
39:07So we decided to start a publishing company
39:09And he was kind enough to trust us with him being our first author
39:13And I guess we've learned a few things because even though the book came out today
39:16It already went to number one three weeks ago in its category
39:19So we're off to a great start so far
39:21Which is pretty awesome
39:24That's incredible
39:26You have something for Dr. Long, right?
39:29Yeah, ironically, like in the fast-paced publishing business
39:31We haven't even had a chance to show him what his final copy looked like
39:34And it just came yesterday
39:35So, Lee, I wanted to show you what your book looks like
39:37And I thought this would be a great place to see it
39:41That's special
39:41Oh, I like that
39:46That's special, man
39:46I know whenever I hold my album, my vinyl, like whatever it is
39:49You put something, you work something, you pour into it
39:51And then you get to, like, physical, it's tangible
39:52You're holding it, you're smelling it
39:53It's cool
39:54I'll do it, too
39:56Thank you so much, Dr. Long
39:57Everybody give it up for Dr. Long
40:00I'm liking your post right now
40:02That's not all, though
40:03Our season one partner, Pilot Pen
40:04Makers of Friction, the go-to raceful pen of the Kelly Clarkson Show

40:09So in honor of you
