00:00Welcome to Florida.
00:02Florida life, nothing quite like it.
00:04Home to theme parks, golden tans and 400,000 Brits.
00:09I absolutely love it here.
00:10Who've made the Sunshine State their new home.
00:13This is what sold me off. Yeah.
00:15Like, cos it's stunning.
00:16Who wouldn't want to live here like this?
00:18They've swapped drizzly winters and gas bills for new careers
00:22and seemingly endless fun in the sun.
00:24Cheers, Biggers!
00:27It's our little piece of paradise.
00:28Get it right and life in Florida can be like a dream come true.
00:33Every evening do this with your glass of wine.
00:35But getting here and staying here takes hard work.
00:38I do pinch myself every day.
00:41Grit. We just lost the starboard motor.
00:44And determination. Good job. Well done.
00:46These are the Brits who've made their own Escape to Florida.
00:54Today on Escape to Florida, it's all aboard.
00:59This is my big idea for St. George's Day.
01:03It's my London bus. And she's a beauty.
01:06As pub owner Martin introduces his latest publicity stunt.
01:09It's an original 1957 bus to London.
01:14Wow.
01:14Come on, mate. Come and have a look at it.
01:16Donna and Dan cheer on their youngest son, Billy.
01:20Do something with it, Billy!
01:22Oh, lucky!
01:23Oh!
01:25In a game that could secure his future in Florida.
01:28Hit it!
01:29There's a lot of pressure on Billy.
01:30Hey, Bill, that there, you've got to be stronger, mate.
01:32And London-born Justine is tapping into her British contacts
01:36to sell a brand new penthouse.
01:39What do you think of the view out here?
01:40Because I think this is it.
01:41Wow.
01:42Thank you so much.
01:43See you again.
01:43Maybe if they like it enough, they'll commit to it.
01:54In Clermont, Oldenborn Martin has risked everything
01:58by launching a theme pub, The Best of British.
02:02We've got your seat reserved for you, you know that.
02:04Oh, thank you.
02:05Thank you, Eb.
02:05It's been open for five weeks and the pub has been busy.
02:09The response has been brilliant.
02:11Things have gone really, really well.
02:13Martin moved to Florida with his wife, Beverley, five years ago.
02:17We moved here on New Year's Day, 2020,
02:21just a couple of months before the Covid pandemic hit.
02:24So, you know, life turned upside down very, very quickly.
02:27We didn't have a chance to really settle
02:29and establish our lives here in many ways.
02:32And we got hit very, very hard in different ways.
02:34He poured all his savings into this new venture.
02:38I've put about a quarter of a million into getting this business right.
02:42So we need it to work personally.
02:45So, yeah, a lot rides on this.
02:47In Florida's competitive hospitality scene,
02:50Martin's making the most of every opportunity
02:52to pull in the punters and their cash.
02:56In a couple of weeks we've got St George's Day
02:58and I really want to make a big day out of it.
03:01A lot to prepare for and a lot to plan for.
03:03But, yeah, two weeks to go. I'm looking forward to it.
03:07Keen to turn this St George's Day into a moneymaker,
03:10Martin has a cheeky plan to bring the customers in.
03:13So this is my big idea for St George's Day.
03:18My latest madcap idea is my London bus.
03:23And she's a beauty.
03:25London bus, iconic.
03:27Obviously you don't see them over here.
03:29There are a few scattered about in the US
03:31at different pubs and restaurants and stuff.
03:33This is the only one that I know in Central Florida.
03:37I needed it to become a landmark,
03:40something to drag people in.
03:43Roadside advertising isn't new territory
03:45for Martin and the pub.
03:47So we had our hot air balloon for our launch day,
03:50which was a challenge in itself in different ways.
03:53We had to import that and all the permits that went with that.
03:56We got told to take that down by the local council.
03:58We have to abide by certain rules and regulations,
04:00but I'm hoping we're going to be OK with this one.
04:03But Martin's big ideas don't come with a small price tag.
04:08At the moment we're renting it off him.
04:09So a couple of grand a month
04:10I'm renting the bus and putting it there.
04:12So we've done that and I've said,
04:13listen, I'll agree to buy you 70 grand, we've said,
04:16if it comes to the point where we think it's really working.
04:1970 grand for a bus that's going nowhere
04:22is a big investment and it needs a major rebrand.
04:26So what I've got to do, first of all,
04:28is get all this lettering off.
04:29So it was lawyers down in South Florida
04:32who was using the bus for promotional purposes.
04:34But I want to get it back to its original red.
04:36The paint seems in immaculate condition
04:39for a 70-odd-year-old bus.
04:41So it's going to take time.
04:43We've got a couple of weeks before St George's Day.
04:46With every one of Martin's new ideas,
04:49it's his trusted handyman Jimmy from Macclesfield
04:52who turns them into reality.
04:54Jimmy's up to any task, honestly.
04:57Jimmy's brilliant and when I do come up with these mad ideas,
05:00he just gets on with it.
05:02I can't find my big wrench.
05:04You know, the big blue-handle one.
05:06Jimmy and wife Anne, who's the pub manager,
05:09came to Florida 17 years ago.
05:13In this business, I'm the general handyman,
05:17customer service sometimes.
05:19But I'm just general on the dog's body.
05:22If they want something to do and they'll say,
05:23everybody just turns, Jimmy!
05:25We planned this escape to Florida over quite a while.
05:30We loved it.
05:31It was our happy place.
05:33Loved everything about it.
05:34So I thought, why not live there?
05:37Now Martin needs to introduce Jimmy to his next task.
05:42Mate, it's an original 1957 bus.
05:45We're in London.
05:47Come on, mate, come and have a look at her.
05:48She's called Lucy.
05:50Lucy!
05:531957 on a million miles.
05:56Similar to yourself.
05:57Yeah.
05:59I feel like it.
06:00How big is she when you're up close?
06:02We've obviously got to do a bit of a...
06:05We?
06:05We?
06:06Did you say?
06:07We?
06:07I'm going to kind of supervise you, I think.
06:10Right.
06:11Yeah, we need to get all the lettering off,
06:13but I think she'll come back up.
06:16That's the original paint underneath,
06:18like that cherry red.
06:19Yeah.
06:20Same colour as the phone box.
06:21With St George's Day two weeks away,
06:24Jimmy will have some hard graft ahead of him
06:27to get the bus ready in time.
06:3428 miles away in downtown Orlando,
06:37the sun is shining.
06:39Making the most of it by walking her four-legged friends
06:41is London-born Justine.
06:47I like to take the dogs for a walk,
06:50so it's nice to take a few minutes each day
06:52and kind of calm yourself.
06:56Although born in the UK,
06:58Justine has lived in Florida for 45 years
07:01and has built a successful career
07:03helping British businesses thrive in Florida,
07:06especially in property.
07:09I'm a real estate marketing consultant,
07:11but I work with developers through my company
07:15to help market and sell both locally and internationally.
07:20There we are.
07:24Justine lives with husband Raja,
07:27mother Denise and son Chris.
07:29Because everything kind of revolves around food,
07:31doesn't it?
07:32So we're a social family,
07:33we're social together,
07:34we're social with our friends
07:35and, yeah, we like cooking.
07:38Justine and Raja have been together for 34 years.
07:43Maybe we should get chickens.
07:44No.
07:45No.
07:47You're not here.
07:48Mm-hmm.
07:48I mean, that's a fair point.
07:50We got married twice.
07:51So we've been...
07:53We got married the first time
07:54because I could no longer live here.
07:57I had no visa
07:57and I was moving back to England.
07:59It was a green card wedding.
08:01It was completely a green card marriage,
08:03but here we are 34 years later.
08:06I am basically semi-retired or retired at this point.
08:10I went through a little bit of a challenge
08:12with some health issues
08:13and they figured out I've got terminal cancer
08:15and I was given 10 years at best
08:18and here I am on year 13.
08:21So everything's under control.
08:23And Justine has needed the strength of her family
08:26every step of the way.
08:28There are times where Raja's been in hospital
08:30and things have been very difficult
08:31and, you know, with both my mom and my son,
08:33we're so connected with each other
08:35that it's kind of easy to figure out
08:37what somebody needs at any point in time.
08:40Come on in here.
08:41Come on.
08:42We've got some work to do.
08:43Today, Justine's working from home
08:45on her latest development on the Gulf Coast.
08:48Its success will be crucial
08:50to help maintain their Florida lifestyle.
08:53Marina Point is three luxury condo towers
08:56that are kind of in a peninsula
08:59right out in Tampa Bay.
09:01This tower has been built, as have these,
09:04what we call harbour homes.
09:06So far we've built this, these two fingers of the marina.
09:10Um, and so we still have these ones to go,
09:12but we won't do those until we start construction
09:14on tower two and three.
09:19Florida's one of the top spots in the U.S.
09:21for this kind of high-end real estate.
09:25The next tower alone is about a $260 million build.
09:30Just the next tower alone.
09:33Justine still has to work hard to sell these condos,
09:36and one marketing strategy is to hold exclusive parties
09:39for potential buyers.
09:41We do these yacht parties to introduce a lifestyle
09:44and to also make sure that we're introducing
09:48different companies, different aspects
09:50of the community together.
09:52Because even if they're not looking to buy,
09:54they certainly have the ability to,
09:57to connect with us in some way, shape or form.
10:01Before finalizing the guest list,
10:03she needs to know the size of the yacht.
10:06Hey, Morgan.
10:07Hello.
10:08So just calling to touch base,
10:10because I want to make sure that we didn't overbook
10:12with too many people.
10:13So do you know which one of the yachts
10:15we're going to have for next week?
10:16We are hopefully going to bring the 72
10:19that we used it for something yesterday,
10:22and there was no AC on it.
10:24Oof.
10:25So we are just working to get the AC fixed on that unit,
10:29and then if we do, then we will be bringing that one.
10:32Got it.
10:33All right.
10:34If you hear anything, will you let me know, please?
10:36Okay, perfect.
10:37Yep, I will keep you posted as soon as we know that.
10:39Thanks, Morgan.
10:40See you next week.
10:41I'll talk to you soon.
10:41All right.
10:42Take care.
10:42Bye.
10:43So, hopefully we get the 72 foot,
10:46but not without air conditioning.
10:48Sweating on a, on a yacht.
10:50Not acceptable.
10:53When you're selling luxury lifestyle,
10:55first impressions count.
10:57And in Florida's scorching summer heat,
10:59a yacht without air con has Justine working up a sweat
11:03before the party even begins.
11:20In the sunny resort of St Pete Beach,
11:2452 year old Londoner Dan is tending to his pool.
11:29I'm giving the pool a little clean with all the trees and palms,
11:35so you have to go around doing it yourself.
11:38I find it quite therapeutic actually.
11:41Dan moved to Florida nearly four years ago with his wife Donna and two sons.
11:45When we first got here, Donna was on an 01 visa and I was on an 03.
11:51It meant that I couldn't work for the first three years.
11:56But now Dan has passed the exam to become a Florida realtor,
11:59or a state agent as we call them in the UK.
12:02I'll show you my new style.
12:05Oh.
12:06What, your new realtor style?
12:08Yep.
12:08I'm starting something that I've never done in my life.
12:12Yeah, it's a little bit terrifying.
12:15I think I'll do well at it, I really do.
12:17Money's tight and Donna's wages aren't covering everything,
12:21so Dan needs to start bringing in an income.
12:25I'm actually bringing absolutely zero dollars in the house.
12:28I need to start bringing some money in because everything depends on it,
12:32at the end of the day.
12:34The kids won't be going to the school they're out if I'm not bringing the money in.
12:37I can't rely on Donna to do it all the time.
12:40Having spent the last few years running the home,
12:43Dan's about to find out what juggling work and life looks like.
12:47I love my life being around the family, cooking for them.
12:51It's something I really enjoy.
12:53Dan and youngest son, 14-year-old Billy,
12:55have spent a lot of time together recently,
12:57and Dan's determined not to lose that when he returns to work.
13:01Dan, haven't I been doing the dishes recently?
13:04Once or twice, mate.
13:06We could do some yesterday, you know.
13:08And the day before.
13:09Billy's great.
13:10I take Billy to school,
13:12I take Billy to football training, football games,
13:15and I quite like that as well, I must say.
13:18A keen football player in the UK,
13:20Billy's love of the game survived the move.
13:24You've got all these kits done.
13:25The yellow one.
13:27I don't know why you need to take three.
13:29I've got my yellow one upstairs.
13:31I played for Phil with the Chargers.
13:34Last season, I won Perry's player this season.
13:37Before the match,
13:38Dan makes sure that Billy is fuelled up with his favourite breakfast.
13:41We're making pancakes with French toast, just to give everyone an option.
13:47It gives me enough energy, but I don't like anything too heavy.
13:50When I first moved from England to Florida, it was a...
13:54I was not excited.
13:55I was kind of dreading leaving England.
13:57Completely different vibe to living in England.
13:59When we first decided that we were going to look into moving over,
14:03we sat both boys down, and Oliver was like,
14:07yes, yes, bring it on.
14:08Billy was more apprehensive.
14:11At the time he was nine or ten,
14:13he had a very solid friendship group,
14:17and so he felt a little bit unsure.
14:21Let me get the plates out.
14:23Success on the pitch could land Billy a college soccer scholarship
14:27worth up to $250,000.
14:30Scholarships are really important over here
14:32because the college is so expensive,
14:35and sports is such a...
14:37such a big deal over here.
14:39But I want to...
14:42I want to get a scholarship for football or soccer,
14:44and hopefully I can do well academically and athletically
14:48so I can get into good schools for college.
14:51And a scholarship would mean more than just funding.
14:54It could help Billy stay in the US.
14:57I'll have one of these, then.
14:58The kids can be educated here.
15:02There's not a problem with that until they're 20 years old,
15:05and then they have to either leave the country
15:09or we have to get green cards.
15:11Billy has played football ever since he was like, could walk.
15:15I knew the sports programs over here were great.
15:18Billy, I just thought, I hope he thrives as much as he did
15:22when we were in London.
15:24He's so sporty and he really wants to make this part of his future.
15:29For Billy, this isn't just about football.
15:32Securing a scholarship will allow him to build his own life in Florida.
15:36And today, he needs to put his best foot forward.
15:46Over in Clermont, pub owner Martin's best of British pub has all the icons.
15:52A red phone box, a red post box, and now, to round off the collection,
15:57he's got a red London double-decker bus.
16:01And handyman Jimmy has been tasked with bringing her back to former glory.
16:06So we know what we're doing with the bus now, to get them letters off.
16:09Michael will be here a bit anyway, to give you a hand.
16:12And then, yeah, let's just get it looking as pretty as we can, as quick as we can.
16:15Only two weeks until St George's Day, and Martin wants his centrepiece ready.
16:20So Jimmy has roped in cook Michael to help.
16:23We start down here, all the bottom first.
16:27Then we'll bring the steps out and start to go across here.
16:31With that thing.
16:32First job, stripping off the old lettering.
16:35You spray it.
16:41And let it soak in for a few minutes.
16:44With this, you've just got to tease them.
16:47Like that, see?
16:48It's just a tedious job.
16:54And the black seems to come off a lot better than the white.
16:58It's slow going, and that is not Jimmy's style.
17:02I'm going to go to one of the auto shops here.
17:05Hopefully later they'll have something stronger,
17:08so that we can get a move on a bit more.
17:10We've got to be ready for two weeks, and then I'll be back in two minutes.
17:16With Jimmy off looking for solutions, Michael pushes the restoration forward.
17:21Slowly.
17:22Very slowly.
17:23Before I had seen it, I had pictured everything coming off him.
17:26Just one clean scrape like that.
17:32Beautiful sunny day.
17:34I've got this sticker remover from the car shop.
17:37It's a gel, so it should hang on there longer than the aerosol,
17:42because the aerosols obviously evaporate as soon as you put it on.
17:46And then I've got an eraser wheel that goes into your handheld drill and spins,
17:53and it's just rubber, so it shouldn't affect the paintwork.
17:56It should just take the thing off.
17:59We'll give it a go.
18:01Desperate times call for desperate measures.
18:05Smells pretty nice.
18:08Here comes the test.
18:09Will Jimmy's new purchase do the job?
18:12Hey, Michael, look at that.
18:15It's beautiful.
18:17I wonder if you need these little scrapers to keep that up.
18:21Jimmy's idea works, and he's passed this tedious task on to Michael.
18:32He's keen to see if the original colour can shine through after all the years in the Florida sun.
18:39I'm going to clean this section off here with this product we've got,
18:44and it should enhance the rate of the paint, so we'll give it a go.
18:48Mine's ideas are pretty radical at times and frightening.
18:56But this one with the boss, I'm actually enthusiastic about it.
19:02Once we get it up to a standard, it's just going to be a wow for everybody.
19:10I'm just going to go and get the lacquer paint now.
19:13There you go.
19:15All this does is put a shine on it.
19:20See how it's shining?
19:21Oh, I tell you, Jimmy, gorgeous!
19:24And on the other side...
19:25Wow, that's a lot better, isn't it?
19:28Everything's coming together.
19:30But does Jimmy think the boss will be ready for St George's Day?
19:34We're making good progress.
19:36We've actually got less than two weeks to get it stripped down and tarted up.
19:43So, fingers crossed.
19:49In Tampa, on Florida's luxurious Gulf Coast...
19:55Ex-pat real estate consultant Justine is back in the office.
20:00I have a couple of different roles here. I oversee all of the marketing, I oversee all of the closings.
20:05There's a full day of sales on the cards for Justine and Marina Point Executive Director Dominic, who's also from
20:12London.
20:13Morning, Justine. How are you doing?
20:14Morning, Dominic. How are you?
20:15I'm very good.
20:16Got lots going on today.
20:18Clients this afternoon that I'd like for you and I to tour.
20:21And this evening, we have a yacht tour.
20:24I'm looking forward to that.
20:25With prospective clients.
20:25That's going to be good.
20:26If this property sells, the first tower will be completely sold out, driving demand for the next two.
20:34These clients that are coming in to look at the penthouse this afternoon, they live in St Pete.
20:40And they're interested in potentially moving to, obviously, live directly on the water.
20:47There we are.
20:48Alright, let's do it.
20:54Today's potential buyers are British ex-pat Michael from Derby and his American wife Jenny.
21:00Thank you for coming.
21:01We appreciate it very much.
21:02The penthouse that they're viewing has a hefty $3.1 million price tag.
21:08This is the penthouse, so we open up right out of the elevator straight into the penthouse here.
21:15Alright.
21:17What do you think of the view out here?
21:19Because I think this is it.
21:21I mean, this tells you everything about Marina Point.
21:23This is absolutely gorgeous.
21:25Wow.
21:26A penthouse buyer is a very specific buyer, so you obviously have to have the means to be able to
21:31purchase at that level.
21:32But they know what they want, and so if this is the lifestyle that they're looking for, they'll know it
21:37immediately.
21:38So we're looking like a bit of a lock-up-and-leave sort of deal here, you know.
21:42Well, that's what this is here. You just let the concierge know that you'll be gone for however long, and
21:47they take care of everything for you.
21:50With first impressions out of the way, how does Justine feel it's going?
21:54I think it's a great reaction so far. We'll see. So if they're looking to potentially sell, have a resort
22:00lifestyle where they don't have any upkeep on a house because they want to live part-time in France, I
22:08think we're in good shape. So we'll keep going.
22:10The outer space is a...
22:12It's a must.
22:14And the one thing that never fails to impress, the view.
22:19Give me a heart to concentrate.
22:20It wouldn't be a little large pantry.
22:24That's the shower.
22:26This is...
22:28It's a sanctuary.
22:29Designed to be a sanctuary.
22:32The tour over, can Justine close the sale?
22:36From Tower One, this is the only residence that we have that's remaining. Everything else is sold out. So I
22:41guess some of it depends on whether you're looking to move immediately or whether you're looking to move in the
22:46future.
22:46Just a consideration that, you know, once this one goes...
22:50A million questions I can fire off to you as well. I'll send you an email with a million questions.
22:54The viewing at an end. What did Michael and Jenny make of it?
22:57It's incredibly spacious. I think we'll struggle to fill it with furniture, to be honest, but it's great, yeah.
23:03Thank you so much.
23:04Thanks a lot.
23:04Thank you so much.
23:05See you again.
23:06Nice meeting you. Thanks very much.
23:08The buyers are holding off for now, but is Justine confident of a future sale?
23:13Fingers crossed.
23:14It's the only residence that we have and the timing for Tower Two doesn't seem as though it'll work quite
23:19as well for them because we're at least two years off from that one.
23:23So maybe if they like it enough, they'll commit to it.
23:28With the viewing done, Justine has to turn her attention to this evening's yacht party for more potential buyers.
23:35But is she going to need a bigger boat?
23:51In Claremont, the big day has finally arrived for pub owner Martin.
23:57Today we're celebrating St George's Day. We celebrate every other patron saint during the year. Today's St George's Day for
24:04the English patron saint.
24:05It's now ten past eleven. We've got live music starting at two, so we've got a lot to get done
24:10this morning, waiting for the champagne cart to arrive.
24:13It's also the official unveiling of their new roadside advertising, Lucy, the London boss.
24:20Jimmy, thanks a lot for doing all the work on the bus.
24:22Oh, it was a pleasure.
24:23It was a pleasure.
24:24It was a pleasure.
24:25The old lettering gone, Martin is focused on getting the best of British branding up.
24:30We've got a logo for each side of the bus and one for the back.
24:35Oh, the best.
24:35Dresses her up a little bit with our logo. I think that's all it needs really.
24:39And then we've got one with the name Lucy to go on the side of the bus.
24:43Put it on the driver's door.
24:45On the driver's door.
24:45Yeah.
24:46And that's the number of the bus and our destination, which is here.
24:50So I think it'll look really cool.
24:52With the clock ticking, Jimmy gets straight to work.
24:56You remind me of normal wisdom up there, Jim.
24:58Yeah.
24:59We're going quite big on this today with live music.
25:01The unveiling of Lucy, the bus.
25:03St George guy comes dressed as St George.
25:05He's going to be slaying the dragon.
25:07We've got the unicorn back today, which is great for the kids.
25:10So I'm really hoping people turn out for it.
25:13Even though it's a Wednesday, it's a bit of a tricky day.
25:15It's a work day, but I'm hoping we'll have plenty of people here.
25:18I think he's doing a great job and it's going to look really cool.
25:22There we go.
25:25That looked brilliant.
25:27Whilst Jimmy works and Martin watches, pub manager and Jimmy's wife, Anne,
25:32is preparing her surprise addition to today's celebration.
25:37Today we have St George coming down later.
25:41And he has to slay a dragon, doesn't he?
25:45So guess who the dragon's going to be?
25:48It's going to be our own Mr. Martin.
25:55She needs to make sure the dragon suit is up to scratch.
25:59So we put the battery pack onto the blower.
26:06Pumps a gore.
26:10There's a little tub head in there.
26:14Now we've got to get Mr. T in it.
26:20Oh my God, this is so funny.
26:22I've got to think of a name for him.
26:24Dennis.
26:25Dennis the Dodgy Dragon.
26:29Lucy the bus is now fully branded and ready to pull in the customers.
26:33That looks really good, didn't it?
26:35Yeah, that looks perfect.
26:36Just needed that little touch, didn't it?
26:37Yeah, and then you get the people pictures.
26:39Yeah.
26:41Instagramable Jimmy, they call it.
26:43That's what the kids call it these days.
26:45It's nearly 2pm and the staff are putting on the final touches
26:49before the guests arrive.
26:57Hi guys, how you doing?
26:58Good to see you.
27:00So, it's now five to two.
27:03The singers have just arrived.
27:05I really want to have a successful day today.
27:07Things need pain for it.
27:09Hoping we'll get a good response today and people spend a few quid.
27:12What Martin doesn't know is that he's been lined up to play the dragon.
27:17God save our gracious king.
27:27In St Pete Beach, 14-year-old Billy is off to play for his football team.
27:33Our soccer, as he now calls it.
27:35I'm pretty excited, pretty excited to play.
27:37Hopefully we'll get a win.
27:39What does this mean as far as the league?
27:42Well, we can't win the league because the team that's won the league
27:44has already won it, but we can get second.
27:49Success in soccer could be his ticket to a college scholarship
27:53and give the family finances a helping hand.
27:56You need to make sure that you put in 110%.
28:01Your place is not certain for next season.
28:04So, you've got to play every game like it's your last game
28:08and like you're trying out.
28:10That's what I was going to say, actually.
28:12It's very nice to have parents that support you with everything you do.
28:16My dad mostly takes me to training and he knows a bit more about football
28:19so he can give me some post-match talks.
28:22He'll never miss one of my games and it's great to have a supporter cheering on.
28:27Billy heads off to get ready for the game.
28:29Good luck.
28:30When I first moved to Florida, it was a win experience,
28:34kind of getting used to the culture and the people.
28:38Playing football or soccer here really helped me to get more social
28:42and then it kind of just grew from there.
28:45Billy's coach Ryan is another Brit from Nottingham.
28:48He's been in Florida for four years.
28:51I joined the Chargers two years ago.
28:54I coached in England at a local team
28:56and then just sort of fell into the head coach role.
28:59There you go. Great finish.
29:02Ryan's son, Cohen, is also on the team.
29:04So, Ryan wants to give the boys something special to look back on.
29:08Well done.
29:09When I was playing for Pheasant Colts in Nottingham at 11 to 15,
29:13some of my fondest memories were winning the league
29:15and getting to the finals of tournaments
29:17and I want these boys to have the same thing.
29:20As kick-off nears, it's time for a last-minute team talk.
29:24Remember today, we've got two games left, win both those games,
29:28we've finished second in the league.
29:29Right, huddle up, let's make it happen.
29:31Three, two, three, one, two, three.
29:34Let's go.
29:36Press! Let's go!
29:41All the way! All the way!
29:43It's important for Billy to play well,
29:46to get scouted for a scholarship at a college
29:49and I'm sure his parents would be really happy
29:52if he got his college fees paid for
29:53because of his footballing ability.
29:56There's a lot of pressure on Billy.
29:58I just wouldn't push him into doing football
30:01if he didn't want to do it or any of his sports
30:03because, you know, I feel like the passion needs to come from them.
30:06Right, do something with it, Billy!
30:09Nice!
30:10Go, go, go!
30:11Oh!
30:15Come on, we need more of that, Chargers! Come on!
30:19Growing up, I had a great time with my family, I really did.
30:23And then I had a falling out with my dad.
30:26It sort of spurned me on to be a better family man,
30:30doing stuff with my kids that my dad didn't do with me.
30:34My family is everything, Donna and the two boys.
30:37I'm proud of them, all of them, every one of them.
30:39I need to make them proud of me as well.
30:41It's not just making them food and taking them to football
30:44and that.
30:45I want to go out and earn some money,
30:47and that's what I'm going to do.
30:51On the pitch, Billy's struggling to find his rhythm.
30:55Hey!
30:55Billy!
30:56Zach!
30:57That's why that happened, didn't it?
30:59You know it.
31:01No shot!
31:02No shot!
31:03Well done!
31:04Hey, Bill, that there, you've got to be stronger, mate.
31:06Billy, you know it, you know it.
31:09At halftime, the game is goalless
31:11and Billy isn't happy with his performance.
31:14Playing in the position I don't want to play.
31:17He's playing me in the wrong position.
31:20Will he be able to turn it round in the second half?
31:30Just over the bay, in Tampa,
31:32the day's not over for real estate consultant Justine.
31:35She has a luxury sunset cruise to run.
31:39So when I spoke to the yacht dealer,
31:41they were trying to get us the 75 foot,
31:43and I kept booking because I thought
31:45that we were okay with the 75 foot.
31:47But when I look outside, I can see it's definitely a 54 foot,
31:51so there's a good possibility we've overbooked our guest list this season.
31:55With the yacht looking a little on the snug side,
31:58Justine needs to make sure there's enough space
32:00for all her potential clients.
32:03I think we'll have about 16 guests,
32:05and then about 20, 22, 23 of us total on the boat.
32:11I think I could live here, actually.
32:13I don't think we're going to have an issue tonight.
32:15I think we've got plenty of room for everybody,
32:17and while it's not as long as the other one, it's very wide.
32:20So everybody can kind of spread out.
32:23For peace of mind, Justine double checks with Morgan from the Yacht Brokers.
32:28Hey, how are you?
32:29Good, how are you?
32:30Good to see you.
32:30I'm well, thank you. Nice to see you, too.
32:32So we're going to be okay with the number of people we have, right?
32:34Yes.
32:35Yeah?
32:35Because we've got...
32:36You think because the weather's okay,
32:37so we can have them on two floors?
32:39Yes, definitely.
32:40You can go up onto the bow, hang out up there,
32:42hang out on the back, up top and here.
32:44So it's not going to be an issue then?
32:45All right, because I was panicking a little bit.
32:47Oh, gosh.
32:50Hi, Captain Mosley, Justine.
32:52Hi, Justine.
32:53Nice to meet you.
32:53Nice to meet you as well.
32:55So where are we going out tonight?
32:56Just out in the...
32:57Oh, we're going out to play with the dolphins.
32:59I love it.
33:02Let me see.
33:04Oh, I'm too little to be a captain, I think.
33:07Wow.
33:08Powerful.
33:09I like it.
33:11Tampa Bay is on the west coast of Florida.
33:12You get the most amazing sunsets.
33:15I mean, they are every shade of pink and purple,
33:17and they're really quite stunning.
33:19Everybody will go on the boat at 6.
33:216.30, we'll leave the marina.
33:23As the event nears and the sun's over the yardarm,
33:26there's just time for a G&T.
33:29Changed my outfit.
33:31Ready to go.
33:32Ready for the party.
33:32Waiting for the guests to arrive.
33:34So having a quick gin and tonic while we wait.
33:36With the first arrival stepping on board,
33:38the evening is officially underway.
33:41How are you?
33:41We said hello.
33:42We're to say hello again.
33:44On the Sunset Cruise, a mix of different clients.
33:46They're either looking to buy at Marina Point
33:49or they're somehow working with us.
33:51There's always a lot of British companies
33:53that are moving into town.
33:54Some of the local leadership from Tampa,
33:57so it's good PR.
33:58We have enough of everything.
34:00You feel good?
34:00Absolutely.
34:00We've got ice and everything we need.
34:02We have beer and wine options,
34:03a few alcohol options, just basic mixers.
34:06Super.
34:06Absolutely.
34:07Okay.
34:07And then hors d'oeuvres, just picky bits and everything?
34:09Yep.
34:09We have some fruits and cheeses for you.
34:11As long as some Italian pasta.
34:13Okay.
34:14Fantastic.
34:15It'll be a fantastic evening.
34:16I certainly set high standards for things that I do,
34:19and I don't like doing things when they don't go well
34:21because it reflects poorly, not just on me,
34:23but on everybody, on the whole team.
34:27So, yes, hopefully it's going to go well.
34:29All the guests accounted for.
34:31Is everybody here?
34:32Everybody's here.
34:33Awesome.
34:33Good to go.
34:34The captain's going to get us ready to go.
34:36You have all your forms?
34:37You've got everything you need?
34:38Yep.
34:38Finish them up right now.
34:39Beautiful.
34:40All right.
34:40Let me know if you need anything.
34:41Perfect.
34:41Thanks, Morgan.
34:43As the yacht heads for open waters,
34:45Justine's fingers are crossed that our potential buyers
34:48will be impressed.
35:03In St. Pete Beach, Donna and Dan are cheering on their youngest son, Billy.
35:10I love coming to watch Billy.
35:12Sometimes I don't know why you come to watch Billy,
35:14because you get stressed the whole time.
35:16You stress me out more than the game does.
35:19I can vouch for that.
35:20Yeah.
35:22I thought we were friends.
35:23You'd rather have me side with you over your wife?
35:26Of course.
35:26I've been married a long time.
35:27I know the better.
35:30Since we've been here, we've met some wonderful friends.
35:35Everyone wants to help each other.
35:36They really do.
35:38Everyone wants to help you.
35:39And I've no doubt that that's going to help me going forward.
35:43On the pitch, Billy's team soon takes the lead.
35:46Yeah, Billy!
35:47Yeah!
35:49And it's not long before they score again to go 2-0 away.
35:54If Billy wants to go to CDM, you can play a chance.
35:56It's not been Billy's best match, but he's looking to raise his game.
36:01Well done, Billy!
36:02Well done, Billy!
36:02Well done, Billy!
36:03Coach Ryan wasn't very happy with me.
36:05I wasn't really happy with myself, either.
36:07Wasn't really playing up to my standards.
36:08I want to improve a lot more.
36:11Go on!
36:12Go on, Billy!
36:13Go on, go on!
36:16Go on, Billy!
36:16Hit there, Damien!
36:18Oh, how lucky!
36:20Good ball, Billy!
36:21Good ball, Billy!
36:23Good ball, Billy!
36:23The final whistle is blown.
36:26Yeah, well done.
36:29A big win.
36:30Coach Ryan has a few words for the team.
36:32And we battled through it.
36:34Two-nil win, boys.
36:34You should be proud of yourselves.
36:36Next weekend, the final game of the season.
36:37If we get that win, then we finish second in the league.
36:41But has Billy done enough to secure his place in the team moving forward?
36:46Right, Bill, during that game, first half, your press high wasn't quite there.
36:50That's why we moved you for that second half.
36:52You did the job perfectly, so well done.
36:54Your communication with your teammates was probably better today
36:58than I've seen it for a few weeks.
36:59So keep that going in the next game.
37:01A positive finish to the game for Billy.
37:04Good win.
37:05Yeah, good win. You enjoyed it.
37:07Yeah, it was fun.
37:09Time for the family to head out on a friend's boat
37:11and enjoy what they came to Florida for.
37:20I love this boat so much.
37:22It's my favourite boat.
37:24It's my favourite, too.
37:25We are going to Shell Quay, which is a little island near our house.
37:31Well, it's like about 15 minutes on a boat.
37:33It's not a swim.
37:35And we're going to go there and have some fun in the water
37:38and celebrate Billy's win.
37:40Yay!
37:42My parents first told me about moving to Florida.
37:45I didn't really want to move in England.
37:46I wouldn't expect after one of my football matches to have a boat picking me up from my back garden.
37:51So the lifestyle is completely different.
37:54You know, the weather, the school has been great for me.
37:57You can't really ask for much more.
38:03Also out in the water, in Tampa Bay, real estate consultant Justine has organised a sunset yacht party.
38:10Part of her strategy to market her prime waterside development.
38:15The purpose of the event is I want to make sure that the clients that are moving to Marina Point
38:20and all of the influential people are aware of us because even if they're not looking to buy,
38:25they certainly have the ability to connect with us in some way, shape or form.
38:31Justine was counting on a cameo from Florida's marine life to help sell the waterfront drain.
38:37We're on the hunt for dolphins that seem to have been hiding
38:40and I think it's your fault because all day long you've been teasing everybody about dolphins.
38:46And they're all day, every day, they're outside, aren't they?
38:49I don't know.
38:50They seem to have eluded us to that.
38:52But we always see dolphins.
38:53But then when you're trying to sell a lifestyle, the dolphins go and they hide.
38:58All eyes might be peeled for dolphins, but are the guests having a good time?
39:03Beautiful yacht.
39:04I live in the tower that we just left.
39:07And it's so convenient, you know, because we have a marina right below and it's beautiful.
39:12So on a day like today, how could you not love this?
39:15I'm selling a house in England tomorrow and definitely would love the opportunity to consider retirement at some point.
39:22So I came down today to have a look at it very seriously.
39:25How could you not?
39:26It's paradise.
39:27It's paradise for us Brits, right?
39:30All signs point to the cruise being a success for Justine.
39:35As the sun dips below the horizon, the captain sets a course back to the marina.
39:43I think it was a nice trip.
39:45Everybody seemed to enjoy.
39:47Nobody fell overboard.
39:49It was a good day.
39:51I've asked myself, would I be successful if I had stayed in the UK?
39:56I think that there's more opportunity in the U.S.
39:59I think living here and being a shy English girl that was trying to figure out how to make it
40:05work over here taught me to face being shy.
40:09That changed me.
40:10I think I'm somebody different.
40:11Would I have been as successful?
40:13Who knows?
40:15With the evening over, the guests head for home.
40:19Very funny.
40:20Pleasure.
40:21Okay.
40:22So we will reconnect.
40:23Nice to meet you.
40:25This was wonderful.
40:27And Justine can take stock of how it all went.
40:31That was excellent.
40:32That was excellent.
40:33Ten out of ten.
40:34I mean, that's why we do this.
40:35The people that are on it, yes, I think that we'll end up probably getting a contract out of it.
40:39But you never know who's then going to tell their friends, this is where you should be living.
40:48I thought that was a brilliant night.
40:50Yeah, me too.
40:52So what's next?
40:54Selling more condos.
40:55Getting construction started on Tower 2 and then after that on Tower 3 and that's it.
41:01Just sell, sell, sell.
41:12Over in Claremont.
41:14Pub owner Martin's St George's Day event is up and running.
41:18So John's going to start singing now with all your favourite hits.
41:21And some of my own hits.
41:23Some of his own hits.
41:24Let's get a drink.
41:25Happy St George's Day, everyone.
41:27Thanks for coming.
41:27Cheers, guys.
41:28I'm really hoping people respond to it like they do for St Patrick's Day and stuff.
41:32We want to make St George's Day just as big a day over here.
41:36To mark the occasion, they've unveiled Martin's latest attraction.
41:40If anybody wants a picture with Lucy, our new double-decker bus, feel free to do so.
41:45And it looks like Lucy is doing her job.
41:49Today I came here for St George's Day to see this lovely bus.
41:52Isn't it great for the bar to have this bus?
41:55It's just fabulous.

44:08And I think it just gave people a laugh.
44:11And that's all it's about.
