00:00Winters and gas bills for new careers and seemingly endless fun in the sun.
00:04Cheers Biggis!
00:06It's our little piece of paradise.
00:08Get it right and life in Florida can be like a dream come true.
00:12Every evening do this with your glass of wine.
00:14But getting here and staying here takes hard work.
00:18I do pinch myself every day.
00:20Grit. We just lost the starboard motor.
00:23And determination. Good job, well done.
00:25These are the Brits who've made their own Escape to Florida.
00:33Today on Escape to Florida, it's all aboard.
00:37This is my big idea for St. George's Day.
00:41My London bus. And she's a beauty.
00:44As pub owner Martin introduces his latest publicity stunt.
00:48It's an original 1957 bus to London. Come on, mate. Come and have a look at her.
00:54Donna and Dan cheer on their youngest son, Billy.
00:57Do something with it, Billy.
01:00Oh, I love it.
01:02In a game that could secure his future in Florida.
01:05Hit it!
01:05There's a lot of pressure on Billy.
01:07Hey, Bill, that there, you've got to be stronger, mate.
01:09And London-born Justine is tapping into her British contacts to sell a brand new penthouse.
01:15What do you think of the view out here? Because I think this is it.
01:18Wow.
01:18Thank you so much.
01:19See you again.
01:20Maybe if they like it enough, they'll commit to it.
01:29In Clermont, Oldenborn Martin has risked everything by launching a theme pub, The Best of British.
01:37We've got your seat reserved for you. You know that.
01:39Oh, thank you.
01:40Thank you, Herb.
01:41It's been open for five weeks, and the pub has been busy.
01:44The response has been brilliant. Things have gone really, really well.
01:48Martin moved to Florida with his wife, Beverly, five years ago.
01:52We moved here on New Year's Day 2020, just a couple of months before the COVID pandemic hit.
01:58So, you know, life turned upside down very, very quickly.
02:01We didn't have a chance to really settle and establish our lives here in many ways.
02:06And we got hit very, very hard in different ways.
02:08He poured all his savings into this new venture.
02:12I've put about a quarter of a million into getting this business right.
02:16So we need it to work personally. So, yeah, a lot rides on this.
02:20In Florida's competitive hospitality scene, Martin's making the most of every opportunity
02:25to pull in the punters and their cash.
02:29In a couple of weeks, we've got St. George's Day, and I really want to make a big day out
02:33of it.
02:34A lot to prepare for and a lot to plan for, but, yeah, two weeks to go.
02:37I'm looking forward to it.
02:39Keen to turn this St. George's Day into a moneymaker,
02:42Martin has a cheeky plan to bring the customers in.
02:45So this is my big idea for St. George's Day.
02:50My latest madcap idea is my London bus, and she's a beauty.
02:57London bus, iconic. Obviously, you don't see them over here.
03:00There are a few scattered about in the US at different pubs and restaurants and stuff.
03:04This is the only one that I know in central Florida.
03:08I needed it to become a landmark, something to drag people in.
03:13Roadside advertising isn't new territory for Martin and the pub.
03:17So we had our hot air balloon for our launch day, which was a challenge in itself in different ways.
03:23We had to import that and all the permits that went with that.
03:26We got told to take that down by the local council.
03:28We have to abide by certain rules and regulations, but I'm hoping we're going to be okay with this one.
03:33But Martin's big ideas don't come with a small price tag.
03:37At the moment, we're renting it off. So a couple of grand a month from renting the bus and putting
03:40it there.
03:41So we've done that and I've said, listen, I'll agree to buy you off.
03:43And 70 grand, we've said, if it comes to the point where we think it's really working.
03:4870 grand for a bus that's going nowhere is a big investment and it needs a major rebrand.
03:54So what I've got to do, first of all, is get all this lettering off. So it was a lawyer's
03:59down in South Florida who was using the bus for promotional purposes.
04:02I want to get it back to its original red. The paint seems in immaculate condition for a 70-odd
04:08-year-old bus.
04:09So it's going to take time. We've got a couple of weeks before St George's Day.
04:13With every one of Martin's new ideas, it's his trusted handyman, Jimmy from Macclesfield, who turns them into reality.
04:21Jimmy's up to any task. Honestly, Jimmy's brilliant. And when I do come up with these mad ideas, he just
04:27gets on with it.
04:29I find my big wrench. You know, the big blue-handle one.
04:33Jimmy and wife Anne, who's the pub manager, came to Florida 17 years ago.
04:39In this business, I'm the general handyman, customer service sometimes.
04:45But I'm just general on the dogs' body. If they want something to do, they'll say,
04:49everybody just turns, Jimmy!
04:51We planned this escape to Florida over quite a while. We loved it. It was our happy place.
04:58Loved everything about it. So I thought, why not live there?
05:02Now Martin needs to introduce Jimmy to his next task.
05:07Mate, it's an original 1957 bus.
05:10We're in London. Come on, mate. Come and have a look at her.
05:13She's called Lucy. Lucy!
05:171957, on a million miles. Similar to yourself.
05:21Yeah. I feel like it.
05:24How big is she when you're up close?
05:26We've obviously got to do a bit of a...
05:28We? We? Did you say? We?
05:31I'm going to kind of supervise you, I think.
05:33All right. Um, yeah, we need to get all the lettering off, but I think she'll come back up.
05:39That's the original paint underneath, like that cherry red.
05:42Yeah. Same colour as the phone box.
05:44With St George's Day two weeks away, Jimmy will have some hard graft ahead of him to get the bus
05:50ready in time.
05:5628 miles away in downtown Orlando, the sun is shining.
06:01Making the most of it by walking our four-legged friends is London-born Justine.
06:08I like to take the dogs for a walk, so it's nice to take a few minutes each day and
06:14kind of calm yourself.
06:17Although born in the UK, Justine has lived in Florida for 45 years and has built a successful career,
06:24helping British businesses thrive in Florida, especially in property.
06:29I'm a real estate marketing consultant, but I work with developers through my company.
06:35to help market and sell both locally and internationally.
06:41There we are.
06:44Justine lives with husband Raja, mother Denise and son Chris.
06:49Because everything kind of revolves around food, doesn't it? So we're a social family,
06:53we're social together, we're social with our friends and, um, yeah, we like cooking.
06:57Justine and Raja have been together for 34 years.
07:02Maybe we should get chickens.
07:03No. No.
07:04No. You're not here.
07:07I mean, that's a fair point. We got married twice. So we've been,
07:11we got married the first time because I could no longer live here. I had no visa and I was
07:16moving
07:17back to England.
07:18It was a green card wedding.
07:19It was, it was completely a green card marriage, but here we are 34 years later.
07:24I am basically semi-retired or retired at this point. I went through a little bit of a challenge with
07:29some health issues and they figured out I've got terminal cancer and I was given 10 years at best and
07:35here I am on year 13. So everything's under control. And Justine has needed the strength of her family every
07:43step of the way. There are times where Raja's been in hospital and things have been very difficult.
07:48And you know, with both my mom and my son, we're so connected with each other that it's,
07:52it's kind of easy to figure out what somebody needs at any point in time.
07:56Come on in here. Come on. We've got some work to do.
07:59Today, Justine's working from home on her latest development on the Gulf Coast.
08:04Its success will be crucial to help maintain their Florida lifestyle.
08:09Marina Point is three luxury condo towers that are on, on kind of in a peninsula right out in Tampa
08:16Bay.
08:16This tower has been built as have these, what we call Harbor Homes. So far, we've built this,
08:22these two fingers of the Marina. Um, and so we still have these ones to go,
08:27but we won't do those until we start construction on tower two and three.
08:33Florida is one of the top spots in the U.S. for this kind of high-end real estate.
08:40The next tower alone is about a $260 million build. Just the next tower alone.
08:47Justine still has to work hard to sell these condos.
08:49And one marketing strategy is to hold exclusive parties for potential buyers.
08:54We do these yacht parties to introduce a lifestyle and to also make sure that we're introducing
09:01different companies, different aspects of the community together. Because even if they're not
09:06looking to buy, they certainly have the ability to, to connect with us in some way, shape or form.
09:13Before finalizing the guest list, she needs to know the size of the yacht.
09:18Hey, Morgan. Hello.
09:20So just calling to touch base, because I want to make sure that we didn't overbook with too
09:24many people. So do you know which one of the yachts we're going to have for next week?
09:28We are hopefully going to bring the 72, but we used it for something yesterday.
09:33And there was no AC on it. So we are just working to get the AC fixed on that unit.
09:40And then if we do,
09:42then we will be bringing that one.
09:43Got it. All right. If you hear anything, will you let me know, please?
09:47Okay, perfect. Yep. I will keep you posted as soon as we know that.
09:50Thanks, Morgan. See you next week.
09:51All right. I'll talk to you soon.
09:52All right. Take care. Bye.
09:53So hopefully we get the 72 foot, but not without air conditioning. Sweating on a, on a yacht.
10:00Not acceptable.
10:03When you're selling luxury lifestyle, first impressions count. And in Florida's scorching
10:08summer heat, a yacht without air con has Justine working up a sweat before the party even begins.
10:29In the sunny resort of St. Pete Beach, 52 year old Londoner Dan is tending to his pool.
10:37I'm giving the pool a little clean with all the trees and palms. So you have to go around doing
10:45it
10:45yourself. I find it quite therapeutic actually. Dan moved to Florida nearly four years ago with his
10:51wife Donna and two sons. When we first got here, Donna was on an 01 visa and I was on
10:58an 03. It meant
10:59that I couldn't work for the first three years. But now Dan has passed the exam to become a Florida
11:06realtor or estate agent as we call them in the UK. I'll show you my new style. Oh, what your
11:13new realtor
11:13style? Yep. I'm starting something that I've never done in my life. Yeah. It's a little bit
11:20terrifying. I think I'll do well at it. I really do. Money's tight and Donna's wages aren't covering
11:26everything. So Dan needs to start bringing in an income. I'm actually bringing absolutely zero dollars
11:33in the house. I need to start bringing some money in because everything depends on it at the end of
11:38the day. The kids won't be going to the school they're at if I'm not bringing the money in. I
11:43can't
11:43rely on Donna to do it all the time. Having spent the last few years running the home,
11:47Dan's about to find out what juggling work and life looks like. I love my life being around
11:54the family, cooking for them. It's something I really enjoy. Dan and youngest son, 14-year-old
11:59Billy, have spent a lot of time together recently and Dan's determined not to lose that when he
12:04returns to work. Dad, haven't I been doing the dishes recently? Once or twice, mate. We could do some
12:10yesterday. And the day before. Billy's great. I take Billy to school, I take Billy to football
12:16training, football games and I quite like that as well I must say. A keen football player in the UK,
12:23Billy's love of the game survived the move. You've got all these kits done. The yellow one. Do you know
12:30why you need
12:31to take three? I've got my yellow one upstairs. I played for Phil with the Chargers. Last season,
12:37I won parents' play this season. Before the match, Dan makes sure that Billy is fueled up with his
12:43favorite breakfast. We're making pancakes for French toast just to give everyone an option. It gives me
12:50enough energy but I don't like anything too heavy. When I first moved from England to Florida, it was a,
12:55I was not excited. I was kind of dreading leaving England. Completely different vibe to living in
13:00England. When we first decided that we were going to look into moving over, we sat both boys down and
13:06Oliver was like, yes, yes, bring it on. Billy was more apprehensive. At the time he was nine or ten,
13:14he had a very solid friendship group and so he felt a little bit unsure. Get the plates out. Success
13:23on the
13:23pitch could land Billy a college soccer scholarship worth up to $250,000. Scholarships are really
13:31important over here because the college is so expensive and sports is such a, such a big deal
13:37over here. But I want to, I want to get a scholarship for football soccer and hopefully I can do
13:46well
13:46academically and athletically so I can get into good schools for college. And a scholarship would mean
13:51more than just funding. It could help Billy stay in the US. I'll have one of these and pancakes.
13:57Is that all right? The kids can be educated here. There's not a problem with that until they're
14:0220 years old and then they have to either leave the country or we have to get green cards.
14:09Billy has played football ever since he was like, could walk. I knew the sports programs over here were
14:15great. I just thought I hope he thrives as much as he did when we were in London. He's so
14:21sporty and he
14:23really wants to make this part of his future. For Billy, this isn't just about football. Securing a
14:29scholarship will allow him to build his own life in Florida and today he needs to put his best foot
14:35forward.
14:42Over in Clermont, pub owner Martin's best of British pub has all the icons. A red phone box,
14:49a red post box and now to round off the collection, he's got a red London double-decker bus.
14:56And handyman Jimmy has been tasked with bringing her back to former glory.
15:01So we know what we're doing with the bus now, to get him letters off. Michael will be here a
15:05bit anyway
15:06to give you a hand and then, yeah, let's just get it looking as pretty as we can, as quick
15:09as we can.
15:10Only two weeks until St George's Day and Martin wants his centrepiece ready,
15:14so Jimmy has roped in cook Michael to help. We start down here, all the bottom first,
15:21then we'll bring the steps out and start to go across here. We don't think. First job,
15:26stripping off the old lettering. You spray it and let it soak him for a few minutes.
15:37With this, you've just got to tease them, like that, see. It's just tedious job.
15:47The black seems to come off a lot better than the white. It's slow going and that is not Jimmy's
15:53style.
15:54I'm going to go to one of the auto shops here. Hopefully later they'll have something stronger,
16:00so that we can get a move on a bit more. We've got to be ready for two weeks and
16:04then I'll be back in two minutes.
16:07With Jimmy off looking for solutions, Michael pushes the restoration forward slowly, very slowly.
16:15Before I had seen, I had pictured everything coming off him, just one thing, scraped like that.
16:22Beautiful sunny day. I've got this sticker remover from the car shop. It's a gel, so it should hang on
16:30there longer than the aerosol because the aerosols obviously evaporate as soon as you put it on.
16:37And then I've got an eraser wheel that goes into your handle drill and spins and it's just rubber,
16:44so it shouldn't affect the paintwork. You should just take that thing off. We'll give it a go.
16:50Desperate times call for desperate measures.
16:55Smells pretty nice.
16:57Here comes the test. Will Jimmy's new purchase do the job?
17:01Yeah, Michael. Look at that.
17:04It's beautiful.
17:06Wonder if you need these little scrapers. Keep that up.
17:10Jimmy's idea works and he's passed this tedious task on to Michael.
17:20He's keen to see if the original colour can shine through after all the years in the Florida sun.
17:27I'm going to clean this section off here with this product we've got and it should enhance the
17:33rate of the paint. So we'll give it a go. Mine's ideas are pretty radical at times and frightening.
17:43But this one with the boss, I'm actually enthusiastic about it. Once we get it up to a standard,
17:52it's just going to be a wow for everybody. I'm just going to go and get the lacquer paint now.
17:59There you go. All this does is put a shine on it. See how it's shining? Oh, I do, Jimmy.
18:09Gorgeous.
18:09And on the other side. Well, that's a lot better, isn't it?
18:14Everything's coming together. But does Jimmy think the bus will be ready for St. George's Day?
18:19We're making good progress. We've actually got less than two weeks to get it stripped down and tarted up. So
18:28fingers crossed.
18:33In Tampa, on Florida's luxurious Gulf Coast,
18:39ex-pat real estate consultant Justine is back in the office.
18:43I have a couple of different roles here. I oversee all of the marketing. I oversee all of the closings.
18:49There's a full day of sales on the cards for Justine and Marina Point Executive Director Dominic, who's also from
18:55London.
18:56Morning, Justine. How are you doing?
18:57Morning, Dominic. How are you?
18:58I'm very good.
18:59Cool. Got lots going on today. Clients this afternoon that I'd like for you and I to tour.
19:04And this evening, we have a yacht tour.
19:06I'm looking forward to that. With prospective clients.
19:08That's going to be good.
19:09If this property sells, the first tower will be completely sold out, driving demand for the next two.
19:16These clients that are coming in to look at the penthouse this afternoon, they live in St. Pete,
19:22and they're interested in potentially moving to, obviously, live directly on the waterfront.
19:29There we are.
19:30All right. Let's do it.
19:35Today's potential buyers are British ex-pat Michael from Derby and his American wife Jenny.
19:41Thank you for coming. We appreciate it very much.
19:43The penthouse that they're viewing has a hefty $3.1 million price tag.
19:49This is the penthouse, so we open up right out of the elevator straight into the penthouse here.
19:55All right.
19:57What do you think of the view out here?
19:59Because I think this is it. I mean, this tells you everything about Marina Point.
20:03This is absolutely gorgeous.
20:04Wow.
20:05A penthouse buyer is a very specific buyer, so you obviously have to have the means to be able to
20:10purchase at that level, but they know what they want, and so if this is the lifestyle that they're
20:15looking for, they'll know it immediately.
20:17So we're looking like a bit of a lock-up-and-leave sort of deal here, you know.
20:21Well, that's what this is here. You just let the concierge know that you'll be gone for however long and
20:26they take care of everything for you.
20:29With first impressions out of the way, how does Justine feel it's going?
20:33Well, I think it's a great reaction so far. We'll see.
20:35So if they're looking to potentially sell, have a resort lifestyle where they don't have any
20:42upkeep on a house because they want to live part-time in France, I think we're in good shape.
20:46So we'll keep going.
20:48The outer space is a...
20:50It's a must.
20:51Yeah.
20:52And the one thing that never fails to impress, the view.
20:56Give me a heart to concentrate.
20:57Looking over here, though.
20:58It would be a little large, that's true.
21:01That's the shower.
21:02Oh, nice.
21:04This is...
21:04It's a sanctuary.
21:05This is the room.
21:06Designed to be a sanctuary.
21:08The tour over, can Justine close the sale?
21:12From Tower One, this is the only residence that we have that's remaining.
21:16Everything else is sold out.
21:17So I guess some of it depends on whether you're looking to move immediately or whether you're
21:20looking to move in the future.
21:22Just a consideration that, you know, once this one goes, then...
21:25A million questions I can fire off to you as well.
21:27I'll send you an email with a million questions.
21:29The viewing at an end.
21:31What did Michael and Jenny make of it?
21:33It's incredibly spacious.
21:34I think we'll struggle to fill it with furniture, to be honest, but it's great, yeah.
21:38Thank you so much.
21:39Thanks a lot.
21:40Thank you so much.
21:40See you again.
21:41Nice meeting you.
21:42Thanks very much.
21:42The buyers are holding off for now, but is Justine confident of a future sale?
21:47Fingers crossed.
21:48It's the only residence that we have and the timing for Tower Two doesn't seem as though
21:53it'll work quite as well for them because we're at least two years off from that one.
21:58So maybe if they like it enough, they'll commit to it.
22:02With the viewing done, Justine has to turn her attention to this evening's yacht party
22:07for more potential buyers.
22:08But is she going to need a bigger boat?
22:24In Claremont, the big day has finally arrived for pub owner Martin.
22:30Today we're celebrating St George's Day, we celebrate every other patron saint during
22:35the year.
22:35Today is St George's Day for the English patron saint.
22:38It's now ten past eleven, we've got live music starting at two, so we've got a lot to get
22:42done this morning, waiting for the champagne cart to arrive.
22:45It's also the official unveiling of their new roadside advertising, Lucy, the London bus.
22:51Jimmy, thanks a lot for doing all the work on the bus.
22:54Oh, it was a pleasure.
22:55Amazing.
22:55It was a pleasure.
22:56The old lettering gone, Martin is focused on getting the best of British branding up.
23:01We've got a logo for each side of the bus and one for the back.
23:06Oh, the best.
23:06Dresses it up a little bit with our logo, I think that's all it needs really.
23:09And then we've got one with the name Lucy to go on the side of the bus.
23:14Put it on the driver's door.
23:15On the driver's door.
23:16Yeah.
23:17And that's the number of the bus and our destination, which is here.
23:20So I think it'll look really cool.
23:22With the clock ticking, Jimmy gets straight to work.
23:25You remind me of normal wisdom up there, Jim.
23:29We're going quite big on this today with live music.
23:31The unveiling of Lucy, the bus, St George guy comes dressed as St George,
23:35who's going to be slaying the dragon.
23:36We've got the unicorn back today, which is great for the kids.
23:39So I'm really hoping people turn out for even though it's a Wednesday.
23:43It's a bit of a tricky day, it's a work day,
23:44but I'm hoping we'll have plenty of people here.
23:47I think he's doing a great job and it's going to look really cool.
23:50There we go.
23:53That looks brilliant.
23:55Whilst Jimmy works and Martin watches, pub manager and Jimmy's wife,
23:59Anne is preparing her surprise addition to today's celebration.
24:05Today we have St George coming down later and he has to slay a dragon, doesn't he?
24:13So guess who the dragon's going to be?
24:15It's going to be our own Mr. Martin.
24:22She needs to make sure the dragon suit is up to scratch.
24:25It's so we put the battery pack onto the blower.
24:33Pumps a go.
24:37Little tub head in there.
24:40Now we've got to get Mr. T in it.
24:45Oh my God, this is so funny.
24:48I've got to think of a name for him.
24:49Dennis. Dennis the dodgy dragon.
24:54Lucy the boss is now fully branded and ready to pull in the customers.
24:58That looks really good, doesn't it?
25:00Yeah, that looks perfect.
25:01Just needed that little touch, didn't it?
25:02Yeah.
25:03And then you get the people pictures.
25:04Yeah.
25:06Instagrammable Jimmy, they call it.
25:07That's what the kids call it these days.
25:10It's nearly 2pm and the staff are putting on the final touches before the guests arrive.
25:21Hi guys, how you doing?
25:22Good to see you.
25:24So it's now 5 to 2.
25:27The singers have just arrived.
25:29I really want to have a successful day today.
25:31Things need painful, hoping we get a good response today.
25:34And people spend a few quid.
25:35What Martin doesn't know is that he's been lined up to play the dragon.
25:50In St Pete Beach, 14-year-old Billy is off to play for his football team.
25:55Our soccer, as he now calls it.
25:58I'm pretty excited, pretty excited to play. Hopefully we'll get a win.
26:01What does this mean as far as the league?
26:03Well, we can't win the league because the team that's won the league has already won it.
26:08But we can get second.
26:10Fine.
26:11Success in soccer could be his ticket to a college scholarship
26:14and give the family finances a helping hand.
26:18You need to make sure that you put in 110%.
26:22Your place is not certain for next season.
26:25So you've got to play every game like it's your last game and like you're trying out.
26:30That's what I was going to say, actually.
26:32It's very nice to have parents that support you with everything you do.
26:36My dad mostly takes me to training and he knows a bit more about football.
26:39So he can give me some post-match talks.
26:42We'll never miss one of my games and it's great to have a supporter cheering on us.
26:47Billy heads off to get ready for the game.
26:49Good luck.
26:50When I first moved to Florida, it was a weird experience kind of getting used to
26:55the culture and the people.
26:57Playing football or soccer here really helped me to get more social.
27:01And then it kind of just grew from there.
27:04Billy's coach Ryan is another Brit from Nottingham.
27:07He's been in Florida for four years.
27:10Joined the Chargers two years ago.
27:12Coached in England at a local team.
27:15And then just sort of fell into the head coach role.
27:18There you go. Great finish.
27:20Ryan's son, Cohen, is also on the team.
27:22So Ryan wants to give the boys something special to look back on.
27:26When I was playing for the Pheasant Colts in Nottingham at 11 to 15,
27:30some of my fondest memories were winning the league
27:32and getting to the finals of tournaments.
27:35And I want these boys to have the same thing.
27:37As kick-off nears, it's time for a last-minute team talk.
27:41Remember today, we've got two games left.
27:43Win both those games.
27:45We've finished second in the league.
27:46Right, huddle up. Let's make it happen.
27:51Let's go.
27:53Chris, let's go.
27:57All the way. All the way.
27:59It's important for Billy to play well,
28:02to get scouted for a scholarship at a college.
28:05And I'm sure his parents would be really happy
28:07if he got his college fees paid for because of his football inability.
28:11There's a lot of pressure on Billy.
28:13I just wouldn't push him into doing football if he didn't want to do it,
28:17or any of his sports, because, you know,
28:19I feel like the passion needs to come from them.
28:22Right, do something with it, Billy.
28:30Come on, we need more of that, Chargers. Come on.
28:33Growing up, I had a great time with my family. I really did.
28:37And then I had a falling out with my dad.
28:40It sort of spurned me on to be a better family man,
28:44doing stuff with my kids that my dad didn't do with me.
28:48My family is everything, Donna and the two boys.
28:50I'm proud of them, all of them, every one of them.
28:52I need to make them proud of me as well.
28:55It's not just making them food and taking them to football and that.
28:58I want to go out and earn some money, and that's what I'm going to do.
29:03On the pitch, Billy's struggling to find his rhythm.
29:08Hey, Billy, Zack, that's why that happened, didn't it?
29:12You know it.
29:13No shot, no shot. Well done.
29:16Hey, Bill, that there, you've got to be stronger, mate.
29:19You know it, you know it.
29:21At halftime, the game is goalless, and Billy isn't happy with his performance.
29:26Playing in the position I don't want to play.
29:28He's playing me in the wrong position.
29:31Will he be able to turn it round in the second half?
29:41Just over the bay, in Tampa, the day's not over for real estate consultant Justine.
29:47She has a luxury sunset cruise to run.
29:50So when I spoke to the yacht dealer, they were trying to get us the 75 foot,
29:53and I kept booking because I thought that we were okay with the 75 foot.
29:57But when I look outside, I can see it's definitely a 54 foot,
30:01so there's a good possibility we've overbooked our guest list this evening.
30:05With the yacht looking a little on the snug side,
30:08Justine needs to make sure there's enough space for all her potential clients.
30:12I think we'll have about 16 guests, and then about 20, 22, 23 of us total on the boat.
30:20I think I could live here, actually.
30:21I don't think we're going to have an issue tonight.
30:23I think we've got plenty of room for everybody, and while it's not as long as the other one,
30:28it's very wide, so everybody can kind of spread out.
30:31For peace of mind, Justine double checks with Morgan from the yacht brokers.
30:36Hey, how are you?
30:37Good, how are you?
30:38I'm well, thank you.
30:39Nice to see you.
30:40So we're going to be okay with the number of people we have, right?
30:42Yes.
30:43Yeah?
30:43Because we've got, you think because the weather's okay, so we can have them on two floors?
30:47Yes, definitely.
30:48You can go up onto the bow, hang out up there, hang out on the back, up top and here.
30:51So it's not going to be an issue then?
30:53All right, because I was panicking a little bit.
30:54Oh gosh.
30:55Okay.
30:58Hi, Captain Mosley.
30:59Justine.
30:59Hi, Justine.
31:00Nice to meet you.
31:01Nice to meet you as well.
31:02So where are we going out tonight?
31:03Just out in the...
31:04We're going out to play with the dolphins.
31:06I love it.
31:09Let me see if it feels like...
31:10Oh, I'm too little to be a captain, I think.
31:13Wow.
31:15Powerful.
31:16I like it.
31:17Tampa Bay is on the west coast of Florida.
31:19You get the most amazing sunsets.
31:21I mean, they are every shade of pink and purple and they're really quite stunning.
31:25Everybody will go on the boat at 6.
31:276.30, we'll leave the marina.
31:29As the event nears and the sun's over the yardarm, there's just time for a G&T.
31:35Changed my outfit, ready to go, ready for the party, waiting for the guests to arrive,
31:39so having a quick gin and tonic while we wait.
31:41With the first arrival stepping on board, the evening is officially underway.
31:45How are you?
31:46We said hello, we said hello again.
31:48On the sunset cruise, a mix of different clients.
31:51They're either looking to buy at Marina Point or they're somehow working with us.
31:56There's always a lot of British companies that are moving into town.
31:59Some of the local leadership from Tampa, so it's good PR.
32:02We have enough of everything, you feel good?
32:04We've got ice and everything we need.
32:05We have beer and wine options, a few alcohol options, some basic mixers.
32:09Super.
32:09Absolutely.
32:10Okay, and then hors d'oeuvres, just picky bits and everything.
32:13Yep, we have some fruits and cheeses for you, as long as it's Italian and pasta.
32:17Okay, fantastic.
32:18It'll be a fantastic evening.
32:19I certainly set high standards for things that I do and I don't like doing things when they don't go
32:24well
32:24because it reflects poorly, not just on me, but on everybody, on the whole team.
32:29So, yes, hopefully it's going to go well.
32:32All the guests accounted for.
32:34Is everybody here?
32:35Everybody's here.
32:35Awesome.
32:36Good to go.
32:36The captain's going to get us ready to go.
32:38You have all your forms?
32:39You've got everything you need?
32:40Yep, finishing up right now.
32:41Beautiful.
32:42All right, let me know if you need it.
32:43Perfect.
32:43Thanks, Morgan.
32:44As the yacht heads for open waters, Justine's fingers are crossed that our potential buyers will be impressed.
33:04In St Pete Beach, Donna and Dan are cheering on their youngest son, Billy.
33:10I love coming to watch Billy.
33:12Sometimes I don't know why you come to tell the truth because you get stressed the whole time.
33:16You stress me out more than the game does.
33:19I can vouch for nothing.
33:21Yeah.
33:22I thought we were friends.
33:23You'd rather have me side with you over your wife?
33:25Of course.
33:26I've been married a long time.
33:27I know all about you.
33:30Since we've been here, we've met some wonderful friends.
33:34Everyone wants to help each other.
33:35They really do.
33:37Everyone wants to help you.
33:39And I've no doubt that that's going to help me going forward.
33:42On the pitch, Billy's team soon takes the lead.
33:48And it's not long before they score again to go 2-0.
33:51Yeah!
33:53If Billy wants to go to CDM, you can play a chance.
33:54It's not been Billy's best match, but he's looking to raise his game.
33:59Well done, Billy.
34:00Well done, Billy.
34:01Coach Ryan wasn't very happy with me.
34:03I wasn't really happy with myself either.
34:04It wasn't really playing up to my standards.
34:06I want to improve a lot more.
34:08Who wants?
34:09Billy!
34:10Go on!
34:11Go on!
34:13Get through, Damien!
34:16Oh, lucky!
34:17Good boy, Billy!
34:18Good play, Billy!
34:20The final whistle is blown.
34:26A big win.
34:27Coach Ryan has a few words for the team.
34:29And we battled through it.
34:302-0 win, boys.
34:31You should be proud of yourselves.
34:32Next weekend, the final game of the season.
34:34If we get that win, then we finish second in the league.
34:37But has Billy done enough to secure his place in the team moving forward?
34:42Right, Bill, during that game, first half, your press high wasn't quite there.
34:46That's why we moved you for that second half.
34:48You did the job perfectly, so well done.
34:50Your communication with your teammates was probably better today than I've seen it for a few weeks.
34:55So keep that going in the next game.
34:56A positive finish to the game for Billy.
34:59Good win.
35:00Yeah, good win.
35:01You enjoyed it.
35:02Yeah, it was fun.
35:04Time for the family to head out on a friend's boat and enjoy what they came to Florida for.
35:14I love this boat so much.
35:16It's my favourite boat.
35:18It's my favourite too.
35:19We are going to Shell Quay, which is a little island near our house.
35:24Well, it's like about 15 minutes on a boat.
35:27It's not a swim.
35:28And we're going to go there and have some fun in the water and celebrate Billy's win.
35:33Yay!
35:36My parents first told me about moving to Florida.
35:38I didn't really want to move in England.
35:40I wouldn't expect after one of my football matches to have a boat picking me up from my back garden.
35:44So the lifestyle is completely different.
35:46You know, the weather, the school has been great for me.
35:49You can't really ask for much more.
35:55Also out in the water, in Tampa Bay, real estate consultant Justine has organised a sunset yacht party.
36:02Part of her strategy to market her prime waterside development.
36:07The purpose of the event is we want to make sure that the clients that are moving to Marina Point
36:11and all of the influential people are aware of us because even if they're not looking to buy,
36:16they certainly have the ability to connect with us in some way, shape or form.
36:22Justine was counting on a cameo from Florida's marine life to help sell the waterfront drain.
36:28We're on the hunt for dolphins that seem to have been hiding.
36:31And I think it's your fault because all day long you've been teasing everybody about dolphins.
36:37And they're all day, every day, they're outside, aren't they?
36:39I don't know. They seem to have eluded us to that.
36:42But we always see dolphins.
36:43But then when you're trying to sell a lifespan, the dolphins go and they hide.
36:47All eyes might be peeled for dolphins, but are the guests having a good time?
36:53I live in the tower that we just left.
36:56And it's so convenient, you know, because we have a marina right below and it's beautiful.
37:01On a day like today, how could you not love us?
37:04I'm selling a house in England tomorrow and definitely would love the opportunity to consider
37:09retirement at some point. So I came down today to have a look at it very seriously.
37:14How could you not? It's paradise. It's paradise for us Brits, right?
37:18All signs point to the cruise being a success for Justine.
37:23As the sun dips below the horizon...
37:25It's beautiful. It is so beautiful.
37:28The captain sets a course back to the marina.
37:31I think it was a nice trip. Everybody seemed to enjoy. Nobody fell overboard. It was a good day.
37:38I've asked myself, would I be successful if I had stayed in the UK? I think that there's more
37:44opportunity in the US. I think living here and being a shy English girl that was trying to figure
37:50out how to make it work over here taught me to face being shy. That changed me. I think I'm
37:57somebody
37:57different. Would I have been as successful? Who knows?
38:01With the evening over, the guests head for home.
38:04Thank you. Very funny. Thank you.
38:06Thank you. It was a pleasure.
38:07Okay, we'll... So we will reconnect.
38:09Yeah, it was a pleasure to meet you.
38:11Thank you. This was wonderful.
38:13And Justine can take stock of how it all went.
38:16That was excellent. That was excellent. 10 out of 10. I mean, that's why we do this.
38:20The people that are on it, yes, I think that we'll end up probably getting a contract outfit,
38:24but you never know who's then going to tell their friends, this is where you should be living.
38:33I thought that was a brilliant night.
38:34Yeah, me too.
38:37So what's next? Selling more condos. Getting construction started on tower two,
38:41and then after that on tower three, and that's it. Just sell, sell, sell.
38:55Over in Claremont, Poboda Martin's St George's Day event is up and running.
39:01So John's going to start singing now with all your favourite hits.
39:04Sure. And some of my own hits.
39:06Some of his own hits. Let's get a drink. Happy St George's Day, everyone. Thanks for coming.
39:10Cheers, guys.
39:11I'm really hoping people respond to it like they do for St Patrick's Day and stuff.
39:15We want to make St George's Day just as big a day over here.
39:18To mark the occasion, they've unveiled Martin's latest attraction.
39:22If anybody wants a picture with Lucy, a new double-decker bus, feel free to do so.
39:27And it looks like Lucy is doing her job.
39:30Today, I came here for St George's Day to see this lovely bus.
39:34Isn't it great for the bar to have this bus? It's just fabulous.
39:38It's an amazing bus. Yeah, but it's certainly different, that's for sure.
39:42When I was in London as a boy, we always used to see them. You'd come down and see.
39:45A familiar face at the pub, Sir William has arrived with his trusty unicorn in tow.
39:51Yeah, unicorn.
39:53This is when you've made it, when you have your squires dressing you.
39:57And Anne has a job for him.
39:59Sir William, you are St George. And your job today is to slay the dragon.
40:06As St George and the unicorn start the festivities, there's one detail Anne needs to share.
40:13Martin has to play the dragon.
40:16You want me to dress up like a dragon?
40:18No, you are going to be the dragon. You've got little air things in there that
40:22blows it up and you'll look beautiful.
40:25What am I doing? Surely there are better ways to earn a living.
40:30It's all right, you laughing, Jones. For God's sake.
40:37Fully in character and bathed in nylon on one of the hottest days of the year so far,
40:42Martin is giving it his all.
40:44I'm going to have a heart attack.
40:47It's time for St George to face the dragon.
40:52St George, we've got a problem.
40:54What is your problem?
40:56We've found a dragon hanging about wondering if...
40:59A dragon or a bad dragon?
41:00No, a very bad dragon.
41:01Oh, very bad.
41:01Very bad dragon.
41:02Very bad.
41:02Stink?
41:03Yeah.
41:04Oh.
41:04Yeah, it needs to be eliminated.
41:11Take me to St George.
41:13I have never faced a dragon as fierce as this.
41:15Should the dragon die?
41:17Yes!
41:18Rawr!
41:22Rawr!
41:23Rawr!
41:24Rawr!
41:25The dragon has been defeated!
41:29Rawr!
41:29Rawr!
41:31Hip, hip!
41:31Hurrah!
41:32Now everyone get a fork and have some.
41:35The dragon defeated, Martin returns to his usual self.
41:39The kids love it.
41:40It's about entertainment, isn't it?
41:41We're a pub.
41:42We want people to enjoy themselves.
41:43And I think you just get people to laugh.
41:46And that's all it's about.
41:47With the day winding down, it's time for selfies and pims,
41:51and for Martin to reflect on how well the launch of Lucy,
41:54the big red bus, has gotten.
41:56Big smiles!
41:58There we go.
41:59Today has been absolutely brilliant.
42:01The response from everybody in the community has been so good.
42:04So, over the moon, absolutely over the moon.
42:07We can only get stronger now and grow and just really settle into the area
42:10and become Basta Brej.
42:41If you want to listen to the story, theấnink.mp3s of the moon and the stars at the moon,
42:41And to see you later, you can only use Basta Brej.
42:41We'll see you later.
42:42I'll see you later.
42:43Maybe you've got to run out for the moon,
