00:00Past President Abdul Hadi Awang has called on UMNO to reflect and return to the right path
00:06after allegedly choosing the wrong political partners.
00:10UMNO is currently part of the unity government led by Pakatan Harapan, which includes PKR and DAP.
00:17Hadi claimed that UMNO's move to cooperate with the two parties had weakened its commitment to Islamic and Malay policies.
00:26The Marang MP claimed this cooperation had caused UMNO to become diseased and increasingly weak,
00:33with many within the party being silent on negative practices and wrongdoing to protect their government positions.
00:41He said what is being done now shows that UMNO is willing to abandon its Islamic and Malay foundations
00:48by working with liberal parties such as PKR and extremely circular parties such as DAP in the pursuit of positions.
00:58He added that suddenly non-Islamic parties were the ones that brought UMNO into a coalition government
01:05even though UMNO was not in a strong position after the 15th general election.
01:11Hadi said that while PAS and UMNO had previously cooperated on issues involving Islam,
01:18Malay interests and national security, UMNO had rejected PAS's offer to work together after the 15th general election
01:26out of fear that the Islamic party would become stronger and destroy UMNO.
