00:00Since you are sparkling so much today, my love.
00:03That's so sweet.
00:03Of course.
00:04Oh, thank you.
00:05Happy Met Day.
00:06Mwah!
00:07Mwah!
00:08I'm assuming there's Swarovski crystals.
00:10I'm not sharing this with anybody.
00:11Of course.
00:12I'll be carrying this around all day today.
00:20Today we're in New York City, and we are getting ready for the Met Gala.
00:25I am fortunate enough to be a co-chair this year, so.
00:28I'm feeling like a lucky girl.
00:30I've got the best team around me, making me look perfect.
00:33It's going to be a big night.
00:36It's a lot of energy at The Mark.
00:39All the celebrities, all the designers, photographers, fans, paparazzi, you name it.
00:46Wanted to go into it with a calm mind, calm body.
00:50We'll go experience the energy of The Mark soon, but we'll keep that at a minimum.
00:58When I heard the theme, I thought, wow, this is perfect.
01:01Not only is it costume art, it's also about representing all bodies.
01:06My body of work uses my body.
01:09When I came with designers before, I just tried to embrace the design and the style that they brought.
01:14But this time I felt like it was a lot more pressure to get the design and the dress, everything
01:18exactly right.
01:19Even though the theme is costume, I don't want to be too costume.
01:22The inspiration is my portrait at the National Portrait Gallery.
01:26Robert and I worked on that project together a few years ago.
01:28We took elements from that, including the massive exaggerated necklace that I wore.
01:34So taking like little keys from that and making it red carpet worthy.
01:42This year, my wardrobe is also highlighting women and the fact that only 6% of research in sports and
01:50sciences go to women,
01:51which is a real shocker, folks.
01:53But I'm hoping that after tonight, lots of people will know about it and that we'll boost those numbers up
01:58and that women are equally represented in sports science research.
02:05I think we kind of followed the direction of the dress.
02:07The dress is so beautiful.
02:08We don't want to like have anything hanging down and hiding the neck.
02:11We're doing an updo, adding some volume to the hair because I felt like it complements the dress.
02:16And then we're doing like a little bit of a braid detail around.
02:19And then we might do some Swarovski crystal, depending on if she wants to or not.
02:24I am.
02:24She's doing hair right now.
02:26The hair has to complement the dress.
02:28Have its own wow moment, but not so wow that it's too wow.
02:31Yeah.
02:31But also like if you want to go wow, wow, wow on the carpet at the mat, it's the place
02:35to do it.
02:36I'm kind of a timeless girl.
02:37I like to experiment, but I want it to be amazing 100 years from now.
02:41What's more timeless than a smoky eye?
02:43She is going to look like the diamond that she is.
02:46And that's also why I wanted to incorporate that sparkle, not all over the place.
02:51We kept it in that inner corner.
02:52I also want to add a little bit of highlight just to keep that ba-ba-boom.
02:58You definitely want to be in the right hands.
03:01This is like the prime time moment in fashion.
03:04I created this.
03:06I created with Venus in mind because she's a woman who contains multitudes.
03:09You know, she's constantly evolving.
03:11And I wanted the stones to kind of represent like strength, which she has.
03:16And then the crystals kind of cascade down and almost like it's just like elusive.
03:22We wanted to just enhance the full look of what she's going for today.
03:26Swarovski crystals, they sent these in and I went with it.
03:29My favorite part in the preparation process is when it's all done.
03:34It looks great.
03:35Keep it real.
03:37But when it's done, it's all worth it.
03:39What am I looking forward to the most?
03:41Just partying.
03:42Yeah.
03:44There's a lot of work that goes into this.
03:46Like I've been doing over eight hours of hair fittings and makeup over the last few days.
03:51So at some point you just want to have fun.
03:54So in the beginning, you go up the carpet.
03:57After that, you hopefully, if you got there in time and weren't running late, which is pretty much every...
04:04Most people don't get there in time.
04:06I mean, I haven't.
04:07I don't want to put that on anybody else, but usually I don't get there in enough time to see
04:11the exhibit.
04:12There's a cocktail hour and you eat as many yummy treats as you can.
04:16After that, you are ushered to your table, but it's quite a long walk.
04:20So if you wear the most uncomfortable shoes, you will be dying.
04:24You enjoy the dinner and the speeches and the surprise guest artists.
04:30There's a lot of star spotting too.
04:31Last year I saw Diana Ross and I'm a huge fan.
04:33She's such a legend.
04:35And I didn't want to bother her.
04:36I just said, oh my gosh, I love you.
04:39You know, it's very hectic because you have a red carpet arrival time.
04:43So everyone's arrival time is a little bit different.
04:45You're at a different table because you usually sit at the table of the designer who's hosting you.
04:50But usually afterwards we meet up and have a good time at the parties.
04:56It's a little bling never hurt nobody.
04:59Nothing too crazy.
05:00Oh, she's being so good today.
05:02Normally she's like, ah, no!
05:06Yeah, I'm faking.
05:07Ah!
05:08We have all of our 6% jewelry that we're going to put on.
05:12We're all done here.
05:13We're going to go to the mark and get dressed.
05:23Forehand.
05:24Good job.
05:25Good job.
05:26So awesome.
05:27Everyone did a great job.
05:29Wow.
05:29Wow.
05:29I can't even look at it.
05:31I have to make up and describe.
05:34It's going to be like...
05:35Fashion is art.
05:36And then she's in Portrait, National Portrait Gallery, of course.
05:39The double Venus, one of the Venus wearing a version of this necklace.
05:43And then we started from making the glorious interpretation of the fabulous necklace
05:49that has all this wonderful meaning about your father, your origin and all of that.
05:55I'm just grateful that Giovanna was able to take some of my feedback because she's great.
06:02So she could have been like, no.
06:05It starts with a dream, but then it starts with, you know, someone as talented and amazing as her, like,
06:10making it actually work.
06:12Ron, too, is over there.
06:13He was grinding it out every single day.
06:17Talk about Ron right now.
06:18He was like, um, can you just take a minute to respond to my cat?
06:23Of course, it's a tribute to you.
06:25As I told you yesterday, I'm here to serve.
06:27No time.
06:29Just close.
06:31I was like, you're served your best job.
06:42This is Harry's first Met Gala, and he has a matching outfit as mom and dad.
06:48He's a body of science ambassador also, so he has his 6% charm.
06:55Now Harry got ready with me.
06:57This is Harry's last look.
06:59Harry, give us something.
07:01Three, two, one.
07:13He doesn't like to wear clothes.
07:16He's very upset.
07:17This is Jaykke.
07:19нужно!
07:20Wait, what'm saying here?
07:29Dream, let's go.
07:37I'll see how he walks out of this.
07:38The guy is working with you and your wife, your house is is a big beauty.
07:41Yes he grabs Xiaopeio, and he replies have faith in.
07:45You
