02:06driving to visit her family back in arkansas this one was so pounding that i could barely see the road
02:12but i remember thinking i'm just gonna keep driving you're gonna feel so much better in your own bed

02:22gabby did make it home but she says hours later her mother woke up in the middle of the night
02:27and found gabby desperately ill
02:30she's like i think we need to take you to the hospital
02:33and i said no no i'm good and she said i started having seizures
02:36it was tornado weather so the ambulances were not running
02:40and so my my dad and my mom they called a private ambulance company and they met them
02:45at a baptist church about a few miles up the road so they could get me to the er faster
02:51i was having apparently multiple seizures in um the ambulance
02:58her family finally got her to the closest hospital
03:01they were trying to intubate me and um i flatlined
03:06you flatlined yeah you literally died i died
03:09that's when she says she experienced something unlike ever before
03:14when i was quote unquote dead i just knew that it was just like jesus's hand was just going like
03:20this
03:20and my spirit was rising and it was just like not yet
03:24and i i felt that of knowing that it was not my time
03:29and it was just like this you know communication between me and the father
03:34but also it felt the most peaceful incredible feeling i had ever felt in my life
03:41i didn't want to i didn't want to come back

06:41radiation oncologist who has been researching near-death experiences for more than 25 years
06:46it's certainly a call for further research and further speculation and further study about near-death
06:52experience not as something on the fringe of science but something that's more on the mainstream of
06:57science he says the topic of nde's has become less taboo in part because of the serious scientific
07:03research that's been done on them there was a pew forum that did a survey of american adults and
07:09they asked directly if people believed that a near-death experience was an observation of the spirit
07:14leaving the physical body amazingly 72 percent said yes so nearly three-fourths of people in america
07:21are endorsing what's basically a definition of near-death experience he founded the near-death
07:27experience research foundation and says he's reviewed more than 4 000 accounts of nde's dr long says his
07:35work has shown there are 12 elements that may occur during an nde including an out-of-body experience
07:42heightened senses passing through a tunnel and encountering past loved ones the implications of
07:51this are radical it means that our consciousness who we are all that we are is far more than just
07:57our physical brain it means that we have a conscious existence after our physical brain function stops
08:03literally an afterlife that's exciting and a groundbreaking recent study discovered measurable
08:09electrical signs of lucid and heightened brain activity up to an hour into cpr after cardiac arrest
08:17indicating that the human sense of self and consciousness may not stop completely around
08:22the time of death some skeptics say these experiences could be sparked by a physical trauma

10:56had a lot of unusual experiences like unexplained noises i'll hear slams the feeling of someone tugging

12:26is paramount visual proof is huge for me i have to like i want to see something something tangible you
12:34know or i want to see a device go off enter their gadgets and tools that monitor changes in temperature
12:41or magnetic fields allegedly caused by spirits a lot of the time most devices are going to be triggered
12:47by anything that comes into their magnetic fields like the rempod for example it will actually produce
12:55its own little magnetic field so anything that comes into it it will light up this is an ovilus
13:02it converts static electricity into a code that corresponds with words that jade says are from
13:08spirits and that's what you're seeing right here it says people mike and details there are easily over a
13:16thousand words programmed sometimes spirit will pull out words that are as close as possible to what

13:29on camera carissa says her most incredible paranormal encounter at gila county jail was caught on camera
13:35by a visitor she gave a tour to a couple of years ago we were able to track down the

13:41visual verification team was unable to independently verify the authenticity of the footage that means nothing to
13:48carissa who's a hundred percent convinced that this footage we've slowed down is real the first picture
13:54is me standing there and i'm wearing a dress which i wasn't wearing during the filming i was wearing
14:00a t-shirt and jeans oh wow and then there's kind of this face looking down the hallway popping out

14:07corner he's like kind of looking down there's something covering my face it kind of looks like a skull
14:12so this is me right and i was standing outside of the hallway and that's you and this is me

14:18i'm not wearing and then there's the head right there if you look close you can see his eyes his

14:24his hairline yeah he's looking right at the camera right right and then if you watch my face they said
14:30they saw something fly over it yeah holy cow that looks like a skull literally yeah i don't like that

14:47jail now it's jade and mandy's turn to see what they can find at the jail i'm along for the
14:53ride the
14:54rational side of me just has a hard time believing that there is such thing as ghosts but i am

15:01journalist i'll never say never i'm open to surprises we're ready first up setting the mood
15:13and there goes the lights there's a thing that happens though with paranormal locations when the
15:20lights go off it's weird within minutes of setting up their gear since it's going off so much i'm actually
15:29going to turn it off because now if that is an intelligent spirit then i want them to come
15:34and use another piece of device okay yeah oh the music box dude right as i said that it's right

15:49here uh and it was like go and then it happened again yeah doesn't like leave yeah
15:58and are you using your words to communicate with them i am typically an external medium hearing
16:03their voices like a disembodied voice like how i'm talking to you but i'm also hearing it internally

16:15that's the first word that came up rage my camera shut off because i overheated overheated our gear seems to
16:23be going haywire camera turned off it stopped recording again four cameras that have turned
16:29off in two hours then the investigation slows down and you can spend hours in a location and not have
16:37anything happen and then all of a sudden things will happen for like a second or for a period of
16:41time and
16:42then it's just and then it just stops at this point skeptics might ask are the spirits just not
16:48communicating or is all of this well just nonsense when it comes to ghost hunting equipment there is
16:55nothing that i've come across specifically marketed to ghost hunters that i think will prove the paranormal
17:02just like the sign says they do not detect capture communicate with ghosts period kenny biddle is the
17:10chief investigator for the committee for skeptical inquiry which aims to promote science and reason
17:15critical thinking and skepticism part of my job is to investigate claims of the paranormal whether it
17:22be ghosts haunting psychics monsters religious mysteries ufos aliens what have you
17:30the non-profit was co-created in 1976 by astronomer and scientist carl sagan
17:36science fiction writer isaac asimov and magician james randy better known as the amazing randy
17:43the group takes the perspective that ghost hunting is pseudoscience and lacks meaningful evidence the
17:50public needs to understand that for the most part these uh television shows or videos they're for
17:55entertainment they are not serious investigations and you're not getting 100 factual information and
18:02that's the big thing fact check everything from the history that they tell to the gadgets how they work
18:08how they interpret the data what data they collect you need the fact check at all because there's a
18:13lot of assumptions in the ghost hunting community just as a demonstration i just want to show you that a
18:18two-way radio can make a rempod go off just like that and we can control the volume and uptone
18:25and all that stuff
18:27kenny's not a scientist or a doctor but has a background in automotive and aerospace mechanics
18:33and in a twist was himself a ghost hunter for a whole decade before turning professional skeptic
18:41i didn't get depressed that i i no longer saw ghosts i love being able to solve that mystery
18:47and pass that information along we invited him mandy and jade to meet up on a zoom hey there it's

18:55to meet you nice to meet you as well and review some of the duo's investigation at the jail it

19:01recording again four cameras that have turned off in two hours you can so with the cameras shutting
19:08down it could be a an issue with overheating it looks like it's hot in there it could be the
19:13battery
19:13overheating could be the camera overheating so it's interesting but i wouldn't attribute it to anything
19:19paranormal we've investigated in much much hotter places than the jail and our cameras don't turn off
19:28like that okay i am typically an external medium hearing their voices like a disembodied voice
19:34like how i'm talking to you but i'm also hearing it internally all right on that clip it's going to
19:40be difficult to ask this and not sound confrontational so i apologize in advance but if you're hearing
19:46voices the first thing i would recommend is uh seeing a professional and seeing if there's an issue
19:51um but again no disrespect the second is that if you're i do just need to chime in there because
19:59there's been times that she's heard voices i've not even heard them but on the camera audio after i hear
20:06it and edit in okay i have been cleared by doctors um i have not been diagnosed with schizophrenia or
20:15bipolar or
20:16any of the other potential causes okay fair enough kenny's firm in his belief that the paranormal
20:23doesn't exist but he says he's keeping an open mind just because we can't demonstrate something now
20:30doesn't mean we might not be able to 20 years from now so it still leaves the door open and

21:04uh differently because of this world that you guys have tapped into i know that when that time comes for
21:10me to depart to the other side it's going to be just fine you know your loved ones are going

21:16there do i believe there's an afterlife yes and we'll just kind of leave it at that their conviction
21:22that spirits are real comes from paranormal experiences they say they had as children
21:28when i was about seven years old i did witness my very first apparition it was a ghost of a
21:33woman who
21:34was floating about three foot above the ground and she was dressed in all black rags and she had a
21:40hood
21:40on my entire life i've just been trying to chase that because i know that it exists i just want
21:48to see
21:48again when i was really little i had two near-death experiences and after the second one i started having
21:59all of these interactions with spirit at the time i didn't know what was happening over time that
22:05slowly evolved and that's when i realized that i had medium abilities for gabby her near-death experience
22:13came during a major medical crisis after being brought back to life she was transferred to a bigger
22:21hospital where doctors raced to keep her alive draining fluid from inside her head caused by a benign brain
22:28cyst she says her next memory after her nde was waking up in the hospital at her bedside was her
22:35family including brother shay mooney of country duo megastars dan and shay and her now husband when i
22:42woke up it felt like i had been there for three minutes and in reality in reality had been like

22:49days wow gabby says her christian faith has always played a big role in her life but her near-death
22:56experience brought her to the next level literally it was this feeling of oh my gosh like all right god
23:07you kept me here and there's a reason for it whether that's to you know tell people about you
23:13which is always our purpose but or to you know create music that brings people joy and peace and
23:20whatever the plan is and game let's go she says she also holds her family even closer now i i

23:29about if i would have been gone and if i would have died that day just thinking of missing all
23:37those
23:37milestones of my nieces i didn't want to be a story that um their parents told i wanted to be
23:47there
23:48so i think that's the biggest anything i was gonna cry at this i'm so sorry like those who say
23:54they've
23:54had a paranormal experience nearly everyone who's had a near-death experience says their lives will
24:00never be the same love is the only thing that you take with you is it is the only thing
24:05essential and
24:07that exists even in life here now in our bodies but then in our spirit it just changed my world

24:14way of zero fear zero anxiety about things and i'm a person that has a lot of used to have

24:22anxiety and dealt with depression and all of that and after this it really changed my my outlook on
24:29world problems then this summer another health scare she was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer
24:36i just want to feel safe any part of you like i can't catch a break oh yeah i was
24:46like you gotta be
24:47choking but after this whole experience with um my brain i knew that my life is not my own i
24:58can't
24:58i can't worry so i put it in god's hands she said she's now cancer free did you fear death
25:05before you
25:05think oh yeah definitely it's the not knowing and now it feels like i know and it's awesome and just
25:14knowing that god's there waiting for us to give us our you know his blessings it's so much easier to
