'We can and we will strike': Iran threatens European military bases amid Hormuz escalation

Iran attacked ships in Hormuz and struck the UAE again as hardliners threatened that European bases could become legitimate targets. Tehran also issued its own Strait of Hormuz navigation map, warning US Navy ships and oil tankers from crossing.

00:07Hussain Shariat Madari, a senior figure close to the late Ayatollah Khamenei,
00:12claimed Europe has virtually zero capacity to withstand an Iranian strike
00:16and argued that bases placed at the U.S.'s disposal being considered lawful targets.
00:21This direct threat follows the launch of the so-called Project Freedom,
00:25a U.S. military operation with the aim of breaking Iran's grip on the Strait of Hormuz.
00:30The U.S. Navy said its helicopters have already sunk six Iranian fastboats
00:34that were targeting civilian freighters in the waterway.
00:38Admiral Brad Cooper stated that a defensive umbrella of fighter jets and warship
00:42is now protecting ships leaving the Gulf.
00:45Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohamed Bakar Galibov claimed the situation in the Strait of Hormuz
00:50is intolerable for the United States and warned that its blockade would be curtailed.
00:55The conflict has meanwhile once again spread to neighboring countries in the Middle East.
01:00The United Arab Emirates reported intercepting 12 ballistic missiles on Monday alone,
01:05while a residential building in Oman was also struck.
01:08Inside Iran, explosions were reported at port facilities in the south of the country.
