05:21just the one?
05:23Our victim Henry Bradley
05:24was the owner and funeral director
05:26of the Bradley Mortuary
05:28which used to be
05:28the Aikens Mortuary
05:30the hit was confirmed
05:31by a partial fingerprints
05:32belonging to
05:33Amin H64
05:34Colette Aikens
05:35you wanna do the honors?
05:36Sure
05:37Back in 2015
05:38Colette chalked up an impressive
05:40eleven murders to her name
05:42from a young age
05:44she was raised in the family business when the time comes show your loved ones you care
05:54we're here for you akins family mortuary
06:01very adams family no morticia sadly the mom died in childbirth that's dad nathan akins
06:07with colette and on the left told her sister liza the two sisters had a lot of resentment
06:12due to the mother's death so much so that liza's favorite pastime was locking colette in coffins
06:18for hours on end good to be kids her dad was the only one that colette actually felt protected her
06:24the day of her dad's funeral colette decides to slit liza's throat with an embalming knife
06:28and then when she's finally caught years later she tells police her dead dad told her to do it
06:34like she saw his ghost or something more like a disembodied voice auditory psychosis can be the
06:40result of a couple different things brain injury sleep deprivation trauma in colette's case they
06:45think that it was tied to the embalming chemicals that she was working with formaldehyde damn i knew
06:51some guys back home who used to smoke weed soaked in formaldehyde they hear voices telling them to kill
06:55people too colette's father's voice told her to do a lot more than that he instructed her to put liza's
07:02corpse in his coffin bury them together and then tell friends and family that liza had run off to
07:06california okay so liza was the first who were the next ten women all around liza's age that colette
07:15saw as a replacement for her abusive older sister and activated her trauma stimulus response she would
07:20stalk them kill them and then put them in coffins with other cadavers that were being buried by the
07:25family funeral home just like she did with her sister it is a pretty cool system for hiding bodies
07:32if you know if you're a depraved serial killer planes on the tarmac
07:51i can't sleep
07:59can you sing to me hello is anyone there can you hear me i need help help can you sing
08:09me a lullaby
08:12what no please you got to get me out of here how about a story lady i don't know any
08:18stories just
08:19please let me out of here hello are you there are you out there ladies you want me to tell
08:31you a
08:31story how about that no no i don't want a story look lady it's hot in here i can barely
08:37breathe
08:39i really need some water just let me out of here what the hell is wrong with you
08:48it was a bone cold winter's night and inside a little house a little girl lay in her bed all
08:53alone please and just as she was about to fall asleep she heard a noise please i need water hey
09:03i'm telling you a story okay okay i'm listening so the little girl heard a sound but when she opened
09:12her eyes and looked around she couldn't see anything but then through a crack in the wall
09:17she saw it was making the sound look lady it was a mouse i don't know what you want but
09:24i can get it
09:24for you and the little girl was like hello mouse would you like to be my friend money you want
09:28money
09:29please what do i have to do please just let me out please what was the little girl to do
09:36what are you
09:37doing i said what was the little girl to do
09:52turns out the mouse wasn't a mouse at all it was a rat a big fat ugly rat and they
10:01just kept coming
10:02around and squeaking and scratching and the little girl couldn't fall asleep even though she said
10:07to the rat be quiet the rat just kept saying can i please have some water on thursday i want
10:12some
10:12water because the girl was a nice little girl she gave the rat exactly what it wanted
10:28and then everything was quiet again
10:40but the little girl still couldn't sleep
11:05i can help you colette but you've got to talk to me now let's start with where the bodies are
11:10buried
11:12who we are the essence of our being is so much more than just cartilage now is that something your
11:20father would say is he here now he loves me may i speak with your father no why not
11:34because he's mine
11:37colette help us reunite your victims with their loved ones
11:42dad says no sorry please just just tell us where the bodies are buried and we'll leave you and your
11:51father alone dad says you're a liar and not to dress a word out of your mouth
12:02son of sam said a voice told him to kill too right that was a dog
12:07since when does the pit care about things like retrieving the bodies for grieving families
12:11probably didn't but they couldn't resist the challenge i mean think about it this woman is
12:16completely controlled by auditory psychosis they control the voices they control her and to do that
12:21surgically they sent her to professor fairfax the one i know only
12:31looks like the pit allowed fairfax to perform experimental surgeries on collect
12:35called targeted neurocortical decoupling which does what exactly essentially they severed the neural
12:41pathways that created the auditory hallucinations took away daddy's voice of course they did yeah well
12:49might have taken daddy's voice but colette still didn't give up the locations of the bodies
12:53are we feeling any better today where is he why won't he talk to me if you're interested in
12:59talking i know your therapist is eager to resume your sessions
13:06why can't i hear him what did you do well colette i like to think we brought you some peace
13:16no i want you to bring him back removing the voice they couldn't control was just step one
13:28colette it's okay it's dad they brought me back to you so we could be together
13:36that's not real colette the people here they just want to help you tell them what they want to know
13:45that is quite the parlor trick i have to get the voice right do you remember the commercial for
13:50the family mortars how could i forget they scraped the audio and then created a program where they
13:54could say whatever they wanted in his voice but you're doing great sweetie if you tell them what
14:00they want to know then we can get back to people
14:09if you want to talk to your dad colette you need to talk to us first some psychotic form of
14:15mind
14:15control the holy grail of psyops honey just tell them where you hit the bodies that way we can be
14:23together forever
14:28heather wilson is buried with howardy eight sections five lot one four four three blessed
14:33assurance lawn is a triangle spot with a beautiful view of the crypts on the southern slope of the
14:37cemetery that's so twisted it worked they got their bodies collect got her father's voice back
14:44yeah until the pit blew up now she's all alone again
14:59oh
15:00could have changed the slogan
15:10police said bradley was dead almost a week before they found him downstairs
15:14throat was slit with an embalming scalpel
15:17that fits
15:18they didn't find his body until yesterday mortuary is by appointment only janitor
15:23came in for his weekly service and he found the body in here last night the cops are bringing
15:28him down to talk to us right now
15:33could this have been a territorial thing she comes home to find the family business being run by
15:38somebody else somebody who isn't dad or maybe colette came back for her trophies
15:45hey guys she'll be out in a second all right thank you officer
15:55i understand you're the one that found the body special agent rebecca henderson
15:59franco do you mind if i ask a couple questions okay how long have you worked here almost three
16:05years was that space always empty no ma'am usually there's a coffin on it fancy one too okay when
16:12did
16:13it disappear it was here the last time i was here is there any chance that mr bradley could have
16:19sold it before he passed it's the floor model have you noticed anything else missing there's usually a
16:28work van out back
16:32kola's childhood trauma her mo it's all tied to coffins there's one missing along with a van
16:37we'll put out a bolo she didn't come here to kill she came here to steal we're thinking robbery gone
16:42wrong well if she stole the coffin she's planning to put someone in it
16:52you
17:13a tisket a tasket i dropped my own basket
17:18i wrote it to my mama all the way i dropped it i dropped it i dropped it that little
17:25yellow
17:27came up
17:31thanks you can just leave it on the porch actually i need a signature
17:35okie dokes
17:39yes siri mr mailman i hope that package is for me
17:45good morning here you go thanks
18:11uh wife came home to find a mess and her husband missing we got the 911 call are we sure
18:16it's colette
18:17brain cameras are dragging him out of the house i mean i don't know it's it's not like him i
18:21mean i
18:22came home and and his phone was there and then the lamp was broken and nobody will tell me anything
18:27where is he the police won't tell me anything did somebody take him why would anyone kidnap my husband
18:33we don't know but you'll find him right look we are going to do everything possible i promise
18:43excuse me hey sorry to interrupt hey sue did you go to washington high school uh yes we both
18:51did it's the biggest high school in the county so most of us went there this is marty's mother excuse
18:57me
19:02what's up so marty went to washington high school graduated in 2004 guess who else graduated from
19:10washington high in 04 colette's sister and colette graduated from here two years later marty's mom is
19:16on her way over uh sue you and marty went to the same high school as liza and colette akins
19:22was our dubious claim to fame or notoriety i guess what were they like i never really got to know
19:28either of them it was such a shocker when we found out what happened colette murdering liza that way
19:34colette was the quiet one too what about marty and liza did they know each other at all
19:40why do you ask uh no stone unturned as far as i can remember marty never talked to either one
19:47of them
19:48uh different circles liza was one of the popular kids you know how high school is marty spent most
19:55of his time in choir practice marty is the kindest person i know why would anyone want to hurt him
20:05tax
20:08hey sue
20:10sue listen to me we're gonna do whatever it takes to bring marty home okay
20:15they found a body
20:27that's not marty
20:30so she kills henry bradley he's not the mortuary kills this guy and hides him in a grave
20:36bradley was a means to an end she got the coffin in the van you think this guy serves a
20:40different
20:40purpose yeah name's nelson stewart hooked at a nursery what like with babies no like plants
20:52ah they're missing a week cemetery employees dug this grave this morning they got back from lunch
20:57half the soil was topped back in with this poor guy underneath it yeah well colette probably thought
21:02they just put a coffin on top of them not even notice the medical examiner will confirm but i'd be
21:06surprised the time of death was over 24 hours ago because colette must have kept them somewhere
21:11for a while why go to the trouble of kidnapping someone if you're just going to kill them and
21:14leave them out here she needed the coffin for someone else well marty did nelson go to school
21:20with colette as well no he's not even from around here there's got to be a connection well
21:24better figure out what that is or that's exactly how we're going to find marty's body
21:52hello what's going on
22:00hello somebody please hello
22:05oh good you're awake what's happening where am i
22:15let me out of here please i can't do that but as long as you do as i say you
22:22don't have anything to
22:23worry about you like to sing don't you you're gonna sing to me
22:32i can't believe it of all the scenarios i imagined why nelson didn't show up this week
22:38murdered was not one of them yeah i can imagine it would be a shock what do you know about
22:43his
22:43background friends family hobbies he was a hard worker he was great with the orchids
22:49he brightened up the place he talked about moving to nashville he wanted to be a singer songwriter
22:56he has this great
22:58he had a a great voice uh the kind of voice you don't hear very often
23:05so what she's going after singers what do you want to bet colette's dad sang to her
23:10where else i need to run a search i remember some entries in her pit file that mentioned singing
23:15already on it sending you something now
23:19i can't sleep i'm sorry sweetie dad can you can you sing to me like you used to of course
23:28baby
23:30hush little baby don't say a word mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird and if that mockingbird don't sing
23:41it's good news for marty you think she wants marty to sing for her dead men don't sing that didn't
23:48help nelson well maybe he refused or he panicked but as long as he's singing she's going to keep
23:52them alive what i don't understand that was how she's targeting them i mean marty was a school teacher
23:56nelson worked at a garden center she must have heard him sing somewhere
24:01morales i need to cross-reference our social see if marty and nelson both went somewhere
24:05church choir community theater voice lessons anything on it
24:12start again
24:17don't say a word daddy's gonna buy you a mockingbird
24:25that mockingbird don't sing
24:29daddy's gonna buy you a diamond ring if that diamond ring don't shine
24:39you're doing it wrong
24:42wait wait wait
24:44look this song
24:47it's obviously important to you
24:54somebody must have sung it to you when you were little am i right
25:02was that your mother
25:07no
25:11she died the day i was born
25:18i'm sorry i'm sorry i didn't know that must have been really hard
25:22what it is is none of your business
25:25okay
25:30your father then
25:34i love me he believed in me when no one else did
25:38i understand my mom's like that too
25:45she's a very kind person
25:49just like your dad
25:52i'm sure he wouldn't want you to hurt me
25:56if you can't help me i'm gonna have to find someone who will
26:00go no no don't go wait hello hello
26:07little baby don't say a word
26:16guys i think i found something marty doesn't have social media but i found a picture of him on his
26:22friend emily's snap mac page turns out he was at a karaoke bar the night before he was abducted
26:28and get this colette's other victim nelson and his friends were at the same karaoke bar
26:33the same night no as far as i can tell they've never met one another but they were both at
26:38the
26:38same karaoke bar within weeks of getting kidnapped nice work morales send us the address
26:49i'm crazy
26:52i'm crazy for feeling so lonely
27:03i'm crazy
27:08hey anything is possible if you do not look like a cop
27:13i don't look like a cop
27:16you look like a cop
27:18i do not look like a cop
27:20well now you look even more like a cop whatever man you look like a cop
27:31can i get you anything um actually yeah i was in here a couple nights ago i met this
27:37woman um i was wondering if you might have seen her just trying to trying to hunt her down again
27:54so bartender recognized colette's photo says she's in here most nights apparently she's
27:59a.o what's a.o audience only when she doesn't sing she just watches ah that makes sense
28:07she's in here trolling for her next victim not blowing off steam okay supposing she does show up
28:14what's the plan we follow her and marty's still alive we got to know where she's holding him
28:20well if she doesn't show do you have a better plan i'm gonna take a lap see what the song
28:25selection is
28:26i do a mean cindy lopper i'm sure you do
28:36okay
28:39yeah
28:43my wife and i went to a karaoke joint like this our first date
28:48that's sweet
28:54hey i've been thinking colette is literally murdering folks seeking that connection with
29:02her father yeah and
29:10you think shane's gonna do some regrets for lazarus i'm just saying push comes to shove
29:15who's he gonna choose i think we give shane some space
29:23i just still don't love the fact that he lied to us especially about something personal
29:29do you still trust him a hundred percent
29:33i do yeah
29:38i trust you too even if you left a few things out of your story
29:55when did you find out
29:59when you were in the hospital
30:01figured someone should let your wife know that you got shot
30:09i don't like to talk about it you don't have to
30:19she died two years ago
30:24were you with her
30:26no
30:28it was halfway around the world
30:34my parents were
30:36and the kids
30:52not that i really know you but you know
30:55what was the most things we heard

32:12down
32:13you see his guns down my guns down all right your turn put the knife down look i know that
32:22you're scared right now and i know that you don't want to hurt her but if your dad was here
32:27what would he don't talk about him okay okay why don't you talk about him tell us tell us what
32:33he was like he loved you very much right he kept you safe we are trying to keep you safe
32:40right now he protected you when you were young from liza she's horrible she charms everybody
32:50and they don't know the real her she told me all the bodies downstairs woke up at night
32:55and if i didn't stay real still in my bed would come up and find me so i didn't even
32:58get up to
32:58go to the bathroom and everyone loved her and hated me except my dad
33:05go mind me go move stop moving nice nice got it stop
33:12calm down look at me where's marty
33:21where are you keeping marty colette he was pretty dehydrated when i left

33:39hey my name is special agent rebecca henderson i am not here to intimidate you i'm not here to
33:43threaten you i'm here to talk to you okay you're a liar
33:54hey
33:59clock's ticking local pd's upstairs taking statements i told them we're serving an interstate warrant
34:04okay if we have to turn her over to lazarus marty's as good as dead she says marty's alive but
34:10do we
34:10believe her i do the challenge is getting her to talk give me a couple minutes
34:33i know it doesn't seem like it but i am actually here to help you
34:39fair enough you don't care about me
34:44the only one who cared about me was my dad and he's gone now what if he doesn't have to
34:50be
34:53i'm gonna lay out your two options okay option one you go back to prison completely alone
35:02option two you can go back with your dad his voice at least just like in the pit
35:10all you gotta do is tell me where marty is
35:15why would i believe anything you say you people told me that the last time and then you took him
35:20away no colette we did not take him away there was an explosion do you remember that
35:28have you ever seen someone who's died of dehydration
35:33the skin on their face shrivels up and contorts like a scream i can give you some suggestions so he
35:41looks better for the funeral that's okay
35:47new plan then you'll like it
36:07new plan then you'll be able to get out of the room
36:25hey
36:25Hey.
36:28Hey.
36:31Let me out!
36:34Hey, little sis.
36:41Stop it.
36:43I hear you have been very bad, haven't you?
36:49I know you're dead.
36:51Dead? Alive?
36:54Who we are.
36:56The essence of our being, it's...
36:59so much more than just cartilage.
37:03No?
37:04This isn't real.
37:06And I guess spending eternity together wouldn't be a problem for you.
37:13Look, all I wanna know...
37:16is where you're keeping Marty.
37:19Let me out of here.
37:20Why should I?
37:21You didn't let those men out.
37:24So...
37:25why should I let you out?
37:32How about this?
37:34You tell me...
37:35we're Mardius.
37:37Or I'll let you rot in there.
37:40No!
37:50Hush, little baby, don't say a word.
37:54Daddy's gonna buy you a mockingbird.
37:56It's not doing that.
37:58And if that mockingbird don't sing...
38:02Shut up. Shut up. Shut up.
38:03Daddy's gonna buy you a diamond ring.
38:07And if that diamond ring is black...
38:12Daddy's gonna buy you a looking glass...

38:24Abandoned farmhouse, Route 13.
38:26Farm Road 8.
38:38We just found Marty.
38:40It's gonna be just fine.
38:44Oh my God, Marty!
38:46Marty!
38:47Oh my God, Marty!
38:49Oh my God!
38:50oh my God!
38:59oh my God!
39:02I'm hiding in my bed, I hear the clock ticking,
39:08I think of you, caught up in circles.
39:13confusion is nothing new.
39:22I don't think this is what the TV is meant for.
39:33He's quite good.
39:34I don't think you should tell him that. He'll keep going.
39:39How about you? You okay?
39:44I don't know.
39:46What we did to Colette.
39:48Hey, hey, hey. You did what you had to do.
39:52That was the only way to save Marty's life.
39:55I know that's supposed to make it easier, but it just doesn't.
40:05I know the lines can get blurred out here.
40:10But trust me, you're on the right side of this thing.
40:13Who's coming? Who's going to come up and sing with me?
40:16Who's going to join me? Come on.
40:17Oh, you're up.
40:18Nope. I don't sing.
40:20Yes, you do.
40:20No, I don't.
40:21Oh, sorry. I, uh, saved by the bell.
40:25So convenient.
40:25Don't leave me singing by myself.
40:27Get into it, Henderson.
40:28All right, shoot.
40:28Come on.
40:30Come on.
40:31Here.
40:34Here you go.
