00:01This program documents actual homicide investigations.
00:05Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced,
00:07and all suspects shown are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
00:20An industrial district in North Tulsa.
00:25Oh my God!
00:27This is innocent.
00:29Give me the area up now.
00:30Somebody's got that area up now, now.
00:33Okay.
00:33Tell me exactly what happened.
00:35I'm the hospital director.
00:37Is it a male or female?
00:39It's a male.
00:40Is he awake?
00:42He's laying there.
00:44Ma'am, Iron Man, I look...
00:46He's a friend of Iron Man.
00:47I look nervous right here.
00:50I understand.
00:51I have an ambulance on the way.
00:57First responders arrive at a marijuana dispensary.
01:02Close, clear it, clear it.
01:04Clear, clear it.
01:05Clear, clear it.
01:06Clear, clear it.
01:07And discover a man lying on the floor.
01:11Hey, can you hear me?
01:12Hey.
01:14Shot dead.
01:25For homicide detectives, their chance of solving a murder is cut in half if they don't get a lead within
01:32the first 48 hours.
01:51I want to see him.
01:53How are you?
01:54Good.
01:55Detective Max Ryden will lead the investigation.
01:59Do I have an inside?
02:00Yeah, he's right there on the floor.
02:02Okay.
02:04The victim's gonna be a Montez Thomas.
02:0835-year-old Montrez Thomas was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and attended Turvey High.
02:15After graduation, he moved to Tulsa with his girlfriend and enrolled in a commercial driving academy.
02:22Montrez leaves behind six sisters, three brothers, and six children.
02:30It looks like the victim came in with a friend of his.
02:35He goes to you.
02:37Montrez's friend is a student at the University of Tulsa.
02:41Our victim went in by himself.
02:44The victim's friend is sitting in the car the whole time.
02:47He doesn't even hear a gunshot.
02:49All right.
02:52The clerk saw it.
02:54The dispensary clerk, who called 911, told first responders that he witnessed the shooting.
03:00There was some sort of altercation.
03:03And then the victim was shot inside.
03:07The clerk said he was a mystery suspect.
03:10They left him.
03:12I was curious, how did this mystery suspect leave in a car on foot?
03:16Or is the clerk full of ?
03:17And the clerk did something we don't know about?
03:19The clerk had a gun on him.
03:21It was posted.
03:22Officers found a 9mm handgun on the clerk when they arrived on scene.
03:28All right.
03:29I want to go in there and look at the scene real quick.
03:36There's the furniture flipped over.
03:40One shot.
03:42Montrez was shot once in the chest.
03:46Shell casing.
03:49The team recovers a single 9mm shell casing next to Montrez's body.
03:54So whose gun is that?
03:57That gun is a load .22.
04:00And a .22 caliber pistol on the counter.
04:04I don't think it's been fired.
04:06Grab that gun.
04:09Okay.
04:09So we don't have a 9mm gun.
04:12Besides the clerk's.
04:149mm.
04:23Here's the deal.
04:24The facing's a 9mm.
04:25The clerk's gun is a 9mm.
04:28I'm not a rocket scientist, but I think the clerk shot it.
04:32Or there could be another person in there that was another customer.
04:35We don't know that yet.
04:38So we'll just take beefs to you guys downtown.
04:41Montrez's friend and the clerk who witnessed the shooting will be transported back to homicide.
04:49They have video.
04:51You're gonna stay here and get video?
04:52I'll do my best.
04:54Owner was supposed to be on his way up here.
04:56The other man.
04:58Oh yeah.
04:59I've had it downtown.
05:03Got a disturbance at a dispensary and maybe two customers got into a fight and one shot the other one.
05:09I really don't know.
05:11They said the clerk's being a little cagey.
05:14So I don't know what the deal is.
05:25Back at headquarters.
05:26Okay.
05:28I'm Detective Ryden.
05:29Ryden starts with Montrez's friend.
05:33How long have you gone to TU?
05:34Two months already.
05:36And where are you from?
05:37From Germany.
05:38Really?
05:38I'm sorry you're coming to Tulsa and this happened.
05:41Yeah.
05:42So let's go into how do you know the person that you arrived at the dispensary with.
05:47What's his name TU?
05:49Memphis.
05:52Okay.
05:52Like two or three weeks ago.
05:53Okay.
05:54I was trying to play basketball and I went to the gathering place, met him.
05:59He says he became friends with Montrez after they met playing pickup basketball.
06:05Then he asked me if I want to hang out with him today.
06:09And I was like, okay, okay.
06:11Okay.
06:12Then Memphis was picking me up from my door.
06:15We want to go to some bar.
06:17Okay.
06:18So we leave the bar and where do you guys go next?
06:22We went to the store.
06:24Okay.
06:25When it happened.
06:27He went inside and I just, I just waited in the car.
06:31Then I was listening to music.
06:34I was waiting for him, waiting, waiting, waiting.
06:36And then I was like, I heard Zyrene's.
06:39Okay.
06:41I saw police cars approaching.
06:44Then I was like, okay, something's going wrong here.
06:50And yeah, that's it.
06:52That's it.
06:53Did you ever see Memphis with a gun tonight?
06:57No, ever.
06:58Okay.
06:59Do you have any idea why somebody would want to shoot and kill him tonight?
07:01No.
07:03We had the conversation before.
07:05I was telling him that I don't want to get in trouble because I'm just here for like an
07:09excellence semester.
07:10Right.
07:11And he was saying that he's never getting me into trouble.
07:16But then, yeah.
07:19Got you.
07:21It's kind of shocking, I assume.
07:22Really shocking.
07:24Okay.
07:25Sit tight and I'm going to get them to come get you a ride, okay?
07:27Thanks.
07:33We're good.
07:33You can take him now.
07:34All right.
07:41Two hours in.
07:43I want to interview the clerk.
07:46Oh, yeah.
07:50Oh, yeah.
07:53Okay.
07:55Appreciate your patience.
07:57How long you work at the dispensary?
08:00Okay.
08:02The victim, had you ever seen him before?
08:07Okay.
08:09Okay.
08:10In your own words, what happened?
08:12Yeah.
08:13Customers.
08:15I was ringing someone up.
08:17My other co-worker was in a lobby.
08:20He reveals that another man was working in the dispensary when Montrez was shot.
08:26What's the other guy's name?
08:29Mike.
08:30Do you know Mike's name?
08:32No.
08:33Is Mike a regular employee like you?
08:35Yeah.
08:36Yeah.
08:37So, uh, what was going on about going to another dispensary?
08:43And bro was like, I mean, you still can.
08:45And then, like, it just went from there.
08:50Do you think he was trying to get the guy to leave and not have a problem?
08:54Yeah.
08:55Okay.
08:56Like, next thing I know, I'm going out there, trying to break it up.
09:02They had started getting heated.
09:05I'm trying to tell dude, you know what I'm saying, just to go, just to leave.
09:10Okay.
09:11They want to leave.
09:12So, I was breaking up up in the lobby.
09:15So, when I got him apart, Mike, I went back behind the gate.
09:18He was trying to, like, leave it alone every day.
09:21So, where customers aren't supposed to be?
09:22Yeah.
09:23Okay.
09:23He kept trying to come at him.
09:25And then, you know, two dudes, three goes.
09:29Then I'm going to let it go.
09:31Did Mike shoot him?
09:34Yeah.
09:49Tell me what Mike did after.
09:52He missed.
10:00So, how am I going to go hold of Mike?
10:02Because it sounds like Mike can help himself out if he comes and talks to me and Detective Zuniga.
10:07No, no.
10:07I don't have to.
10:09You think the owner should have it?
10:11I don't think so.
10:12All right.
10:13Sit tight.
10:13We'll get you at it real soon.
10:20I think the employee was a little concerned about being involved in a homicide and having to tell a co
10:25-worker.
10:26But, at the end of the day, he told the truth.
10:29Now, I have to watch the video and we'll see if it's self-defense or if Mike went too far.
10:33All right.
10:40An hour later, Detective Vernon McNeil returns with the dispensary's surveillance video.
10:48Is this beginning?
10:49Yeah.
10:51So, the way that dispensaries work here in Oklahoma is you can enter into a small little lobby area.
10:57Once they check your ID, then they'll buzz you into security where you can actually purchase product.
11:02Tim and Mike are kind of talking.
11:06The victim enters into the lobby area.
11:12He gets into this verbal altercation with this other clerk named Mike.
11:22Mike buzzes him into the back where he can purchase product.
11:27Him and Mike are kind of talking.
11:29Since there's no audio, it's hard to tell what's being said.
11:31But it appears it starts to get a little animated between the two.
11:38There's a gun in his hand right there.
11:41He immediately goes to the gun.
11:45I don't think the victim was able to purchase anything.
11:47I think Mike kicked him out before he could finish the purchase.
11:56That kid actually tried to defuse it.
12:06Mike walks ahead of him and is outside with a gun.
12:10So, he comes out and he's like, man, hold on, man. I'm about to come out there with your own
12:15gun.
12:21Mike swings at the victim.
12:27The gun got stuck.
12:29The gun gets lodged in the bar that connects to the door.
12:35He took the gun out of the door.
12:42He got his ass whipped.
12:51He goes and gets another one.
12:54That one he probably left with.
13:01Oh, he shot me right there, man.
13:04There you go.
13:06Oh, this is very premeditated there.
13:10That fight was over.
13:14So, he drops.
13:15The guy's looking at him.
13:16I think he's like saying, stop, stop, stop.
13:23Are you pissed to whip him?
13:27Oh, damn.
13:29Wow.
13:31That ain't self-defense, bro.
13:33No.
13:34No, not even close.
13:38Mike goes outside.
13:40And then he ran, dude.
13:44He going east.
13:46He's an employee.
13:48So, did they figure out at the scene, like, his real name?
13:50Yeah, their boss shows up, and we're like, okay, who's Mike?
13:54They know it's Mike Bell.
13:58Let's see here.
13:59Michael Bell.
14:05Yeah, that's him.
14:0740-year-old Michael Bell has prior convictions for attempted robbery by force and false impersonation.
14:14So, I guess I'll just start typing up a warrant.
14:17Let's see if we can get, uh, warrants to start doing their searches on him.
14:22Yeah, I think we can do that.
14:24And we'll have a conversation after he gets through as a first-degree murderer.
14:27All righty.
14:37Later that day, the fugitive warrants squad scours the city for Michael Bell.
14:44But as the first 48 ticks away, he's nowhere to be found.
15:06Three weeks later...
15:09Michael, uh, turned himself in.
15:14Michael Bell turns himself into the Tulsa County Jail and is brought to homicide for questioning.
15:21Been doing this, uh, for 18 years, and very rarely does someone turn themselves in.
15:26So, we'll, uh, get his side of the store and take him back down to the jail.
15:35Okay, Michael.
15:39I'm Detective Bryan, this is Lieutenant Watkins.
15:43How long were you working in the dispensary before this incident?
15:46Almost a year.
15:47Okay, and what was your job title?
15:50Uh, the tender and security guy.
15:53Gotcha.
15:54In your own words, what happened that night with you and the customer?
16:15I asked the guy his name, and he said, uh, Thomas.
16:19So, I looked up to Thomas, I said, first name.
16:22So, he goes, uh...
16:25So, I was like, I just made a funny joke like, well, he's already high.
16:29Right.
16:30He was like, no, we just don't let bitch-ass know what we're doing.
16:37I was like, what?
16:38Okay.
16:41I was like, I have to have your first name to let you in.
16:44Right.
16:45He finally gave it to me.
16:46Then he came in, and he starts saying, I'm from Memphis, mother .
16:53Had you ever seen this guy in your life before?
16:55Never.
16:56That's why I couldn't understand why he was so aggressive.
16:59Okay.
17:01He said, I could take my money elsewhere.
17:03I said, sir, it's your money, you could do whatever you want with.
17:07Nobody's making you shop here.
17:08Right.
17:09After that, he was getting in his tree, but then he follows me outside.
17:16I swung on him.
17:17At the front door?
17:18Yeah.
17:19Okay.
17:20We started fighting, and he got me down on my knees.
17:23Right.
17:24He punched me, and he kept laughing.
17:27Okay.
17:28And I hurry up and ran back in there.
17:29Okay.
17:30He says he ran back behind the counter.
17:33And the guy still wouldn't leave.
17:35I said, man, this dude's gonna kill me.
17:38And grabbed another gun from behind the computer.
17:42So then what happens?
17:44I see him coming back towards me again.
17:47I just shot him in the chest, man.
17:51I was dazed out.
17:53I couldn't understand what was going on.
17:56Like, oh , look what I've done.
18:01So then what'd you do?
18:03Kicked him in his face and I took off.
18:09You're sorry this happened?
18:12Man, I'm so sorry.
18:14And I know that won't bring him back.
18:18I'm gonna tell the DA you turn yourself in.
18:20I'm gonna tell them you admitted what happened.
18:23I can't tell you what's gonna happen at the end of the day,
18:25but I think those are all positives.
18:27Sound good?
18:28Okay.
18:36Michael made a mistake.
18:37But clearly there's no self-defense.
18:39Michael, at the end of the day, realized he got angry
18:42and emotions got the best of him.
18:45Just because you lose a fight and you're upset about it
18:47doesn't mean you can go shoot someone and kill him for that reason.
18:50He's the one that made the bad decision to use the gun
18:52and he'll have to answer for what he did in court.
19:07I hope the arrest and the confession will bring some pleasure to the family.
19:12He did show her more and hopefully that will give her the family some peace.
19:16Sad deal.
19:17I'm glad it all came to a resolution.
19:25Six months later.
19:27It's been hard for all of us.
19:31Montrez's family gathers in Olive Branch, Mississippi to remember him.
19:37Sometimes I just break down because he left a hole in my heart
19:41and I don't know if it ever would be filled.
19:44My brother was the protector of the family.
19:48You need him, he's there.
19:51When I heard that the young man had shot him and my son was unarmed,
19:58it really took me for a loop.
20:01That's what's really the hole in my heart right now.
20:04I don't think I'm ever going to get over that.
20:08My brother was innocent.
20:10He was on the right path.
20:12And for somebody to take that away from him is crazy.
20:17He took away my daddy.
20:20He took away a part of me.
20:22He definitely will be missed.
20:32800 miles southeast in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
20:39I'm at County 9-1-1.
20:41Hi, I'd like to make a report.
20:42It's an emergency.
20:44Okay, and what do you need to report on?
20:54Okay, the person that you're translating for, who is that?
20:59Her sister and her son.
21:00He's three years old.
21:02Kid is telling us that the ex-husband is connected.
21:07We came to the house.
21:08It's beautiful.
21:09She's here, but she's not here.
21:10We do not know where she's at.
21:20There was a call that came in for a welfare check.
21:24Corporal Kyle Howes from the Behavioral Health Unit will start the investigation into Ruby's disappearance.
21:30According to Ruby's sister, no one has heard from her in about six hours.
21:3628-year-old Ruby Maldonado Nava was born and raised in Guerrero, Mexico.
21:42After graduating from college, she married her high school sweetheart, Miguel, and they had two children.
21:48The family later moved to the U.S., where Ruby worked as an account supervisor for a cleaning business.
21:54Ruby and Miguel separated six years ago, and she started dating Alejandro Contreras and had her third child.
22:04According to Ruby's sister, her ex, Alejandro, may have abducted her.
22:09With calls like this, where someone hasn't seen Ruby for a long period of time and the ex is involved,
22:17that can be very concerning because it can turn very violent and potentially fatal.
22:23Howes heads out to Ruby's apartment to meet with her sister.
22:28Ruby's not here?
22:30No.
22:31She's Zuri.
22:33Okay.
22:34Social worker Diane Deguera will translate for officers.
22:41Ruby and her three-year-old son, Nico, share the apartment with her sister, Zoradani.
22:48The kid, the ex, was out here this morning.
22:52According to Ruby's son, his father, Ruby's ex-boyfriend, showed up at their apartment.
22:58The three-year-old was the only one who saw the incident this morning?
23:01Yeah, that he hit her in the face and hit her in the pod.
23:07I've been out here before two months ago, and I arrested Alejandro.
23:12Alejandro was arrested for battery against Ruby three months ago.
23:16And then he went to jail for the DV stuff.
23:19And was released on bond under the condition that he had no violent contact with her.
23:24With Alejandro over here over the night?
23:27Like, we was actually in the home?
23:30No, no, no, no, no.
23:35He was pissed off.
23:36And she saw him last night in his car, circling around.
24:03According to Ruby's sister, Alejandro moved in with a co-worker two months ago.
24:07But she doesn't know the address.
24:10Do you hear a description of what type of car he got her into?
24:14I'm not here.
24:16Her car's not here.
24:18All right.
24:20Do you hear a description of what type of car she has?
24:27Maroon Toyota RAV4.
24:29The team will put out a bolo for Ruby's Maroon RAV4.
24:34At this point, I got a really bad feeling with her ex, Alejandro.
24:39We think he may have done something to Ruby, so we definitely need to get our homicide unit involved.
24:51What's up?
24:53Okay.
24:54Ruby, not a nodo, Nava.
24:57Corporal Isles gets Sergeant Dallas York up to speed.
25:00I can send someone out there, too.
25:03All right, thanks, man.
25:06Ex-boyfriend.
25:08Alejandro.
25:09York looks up Ruby's ex-boyfriend.
25:12Last name's from Scherz.
25:1631-year-old Jahir Alejandro Contreras Sagajan was born in Mexico and moved to Norcross, Georgia, eight years ago.
25:25He works as a contractor and has no prior convictions.
25:29They have a previous domestic violence incident back the end of January where he got arrested for battery.
25:38We don't have a current address on him.
25:41We need to go out and talk to their kid that they share together.
25:44You just want me to try to get the kid to say what he saw?
25:48Yeah.
25:49Okay.
25:54Detective Julie Price heads out to Ruby's apartment to interview her son, Nico.
25:59It's hard talking to a child who's witnessed something like a homicide because you're asking them to basically relive it,
26:08and that can cause trauma.
26:09But I have child-first training.
26:14Child-first training is you learn to talk to kids.
26:18You learn to first figure out, like, their speechability, how much they can retain, and then there's a specific way
26:25of questioning them.
26:27I mean, he will put it together later that something happened to his mom.
26:34So you want to try to get the information out of them the most delicate way possible.
26:49Okay.
26:50So, Nicholas.
26:52I'm Detective Price.
26:54Ella es la Detectiva Price.
26:56¿Es la Detectiva Price?
26:57Three.
26:58Okay.
27:00How old are you?
27:01Quanto sign of the N is?
27:04Three?
27:06You're three?
27:07While Price talks to Ruby's son.
27:13We're not counting, 911.
27:15A call comes in from a 911 operator in Clayton County, Georgia, 125 miles south of Atlanta.
27:23I have this gentleman on with him. He's an employer who has an employee that called him to advise that
27:30he had killed his wife.
27:33Okay. Hello, sir.
27:36Hello, hello, hello.
27:37When did he call you, sir?
27:39He just called me like 40 minutes ago.
27:41What's his name?
27:43Alejandro Contreras.
27:45And her name is Ruby Lava.
27:49When he said that, stop.
27:51I'm going to go to the police.
27:53Can you meet with the lady before you come with me?
27:55Yes.
27:56He gives them Alejandro's address.
27:59I don't know what else I can do.
28:01All right, sir. Thank you so much.
28:03All right.
28:09Minutes later...
28:10What's up?
28:12Alejandro's coworkers have gathered outside the house where he's been living.
28:17He's been renting the way.
28:18Right.
28:19But he's not there.
28:22He was here today.
28:24When the coworkers checked the house, they found evidence Alejandro had been there earlier.
28:30Wow.
28:31Pizza on the counter.
28:33There was a kid's lollipop on the counter.
28:38Dolly on the back side.
28:39Dolly on the back side.
28:41We appreciate it, Lee.
28:45Where do you want me to do, sir?
28:46Go cover Harrington.
28:48Yep.
28:49You can see the car is coming in.
28:50All right.
28:51Patrol will keep eyes on Alejandro's house in case he returns.
28:56Make sure nobody goes in the house.
28:57Log that.
29:00Meanwhile, back at Ruby's apartment...
29:03He's good.
29:05I don't think I can get much more out of him.
29:07Okay.
29:08Good job.
29:10Gracias.
29:16So, it sounds like it got into a fight.
29:19He hit her.
29:20So, it's probably what she took.
29:21A couple of blows to the head.
29:24She went down onto the ground.
29:26Said that she was on the floor.
29:28Then, Daddy put a blanket over her, picked her up, and carried her outside.
29:34And then, he got dropped off at the babysitter.
29:38But other than that, I don't think he remembers anything else.
29:46Minutes later...
29:47Don't work for you.
29:48...a car pulls into Alejandro's driveway, then quickly backs out.
29:53I've got a trigger.
29:59Turn off the car.
30:02Keep your hands where you can see them.
30:04...and step out.
30:07Turn off the car.
30:14Come on, I'm arriba.
30:27Passager, walk backwards to the sound of my voice.
30:40Yeah, he's in contact.
30:43What's your name?
30:45Alejandro.
30:48Driver, exit the vehicle.
30:51Keep your hands up.
30:53Keep walking.
30:56Keep walking.
30:57Keep coming.
30:58Just stay where you're at.
31:03Am I being arrested?
31:05No.
31:05Right now, you're being detained.
31:08I think he's more who we're looking for, not you.
31:14Where'd you pick him up from?
31:18The driver says he picked up Alejandro in a neighboring county east of Gwinnett.
31:24He was like, come pick me up, and I was like, what happened?
31:27And there was nothing, so.
31:29What was he, still on the side of the road?
31:31Yeah, on the side of the road.
31:33Do you have a GPS from where you picked him up at?
31:47He shows officers the location where he picked up Alejandro.
31:52It's on the east side of Athens.
31:56I appreciate it, man.
31:58Ordered that to York.
31:59The officer sends the GPS data to Sergeant York back at Homicide.
32:04We know that you weren't involved in anything.
32:07And lets the driver go.
32:1211-57.
32:13Home Depot.
32:15Officers find a receipt in Alejandro's pocket.
32:18He buys a hand truck.
32:20Hand truck from Home Depot.
32:21So he bought two gallons of gas, a lollipop, and a Coke for it.
32:26And maybe a car fire or something?
32:28Nope.
32:29That would explain why he didn't have the rat for it.
32:34While Alejandro is transported back to Homicide for questioning.
32:38Corporal Fuller sent these coordinates.
32:40York looks up the location where Alejandro's friend picked him up.
32:45Looking at the arrow view, it's out in the middle of nowhere.
32:48It's a very wooded, rural area, about an hour and a half east of here.
32:53So I contacted authorities with Oglethorpe County to do a flyover there and see if they
32:58could look at your car.
32:59A helicopter from the Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit is dispatched to search for Ruby's RAV4.
33:06When Alejandro was detained, he had a receipt from Home Depot.
33:10York turns the case over to Detective Rodrigo Araya.
33:14And on the receipt was the purchase of, I believe it was two gas cans.
33:18The team will try to get surveillance video of Alejandro inside the store.
33:23This guy may have actually killed this girl.
33:26We don't have a body or the car or anything like that.
33:29But, I mean, I'm more inclined to say that he killed her, took her out there and scorched the car.
33:35It's just going to be a matter of finding it.
33:38GSP Aviation is out there now.
33:39GSP Aviation.
33:44GSP Aviation.
33:45An hour later.
33:50Down here back in the woods, back to the right.
33:54Following coordinates sent by air support officers.
33:58County sheriffs find Ruby's RAV4 in the middle of an abandoned logging site.
34:11inside just looking in there the body's burned down to the bone
34:16they find ruby's remains looking in there luck might have some trauma to the top of the head
34:22or something probably the worst body burnt body i've ever seen the oglethorpe county coroner
34:29determined that the extreme heat of the fire left ruby's body too fragile to move requiring an
34:35on-site examination pretty sure i'm sorry back at homicide he's got urn marks all over his hands
34:48and on his forehead he does reek of gasoline smell it araya will interview alejandro

37:57Off with a babysitter
38:03And drove east
38:04Looking for a place
38:06To dispose
38:06Of Ruby's body
38:14He says when he set

39:19And his child
39:21Entering the home depot
39:27He's rolling the dolly
39:28And he's having the kid
39:29Carry the gas can
39:35I saw for that
39:36He knows what he's about to do
39:38He's making his kid
39:38Carrying that
39:43How cold
39:43Alejandro was
39:45To allow his son
39:46To be carrying
39:46That gas canister
39:48He just doesn't care
39:49That he's getting
39:49His son involved in this
39:52Ruby
39:52She tried her best
39:53To try to
39:55Make her life better
39:56For her and her son
39:57But when the relationship
39:59Ended
40:00Alejandro
40:00Was jealous
40:01And he started
40:02Losing control over her
40:03And he needed
40:04To gain control again
40:06As young as
40:07Nico was
40:08It definitely struck a nerve
40:09You know
40:10You lose your mother
40:12From this heinous crime
40:13And now
40:13Your father
40:14Is going to be
40:15Probably in jail
40:16For the rest of his life
40:17It's going to
40:18Hunt Nico
40:19For the rest of his life
40:2118 hours
40:22After Ruby
40:23Was reported missing
40:25Alejandro Contreras
40:26Is charged
40:27With her murder
40:47Two years after Ruby
40:49Was killed
40:56Her family gathers
40:57At her older sister's house
40:59In Arizona
41:00To remember her
41:01She was always
41:03She had a carisma
41:07Very beautiful
41:08She made us laugh
41:13The kids
41:14Of Ruby
41:14They were all for her
41:17The most difficult
41:19Is that I see
41:20My children
41:21And I ask
41:22Why these children
41:24Why my children
41:25Have to be suffering
41:29Since
41:29Since
41:30Since
41:31Since
41:31Ruby
41:31We have the kids
41:32We have the therapy
41:33And yet
41:34It's been very difficult
41:35For them to adapt
41:36To that situation
41:38To that they lived
41:41Con
41:41Nico
41:42Ha sido
41:43Más
41:44Complicado
41:45TodavÃa
41:45Ya que
41:46Él vivió
41:47Todo eso
41:47O sea
41:48Él
41:48Estuvo presente
41:49AhÃ
41:51A medida
41:52Que va creciendo
41:53Él va recordando
41:54Más
41:55Cómo sucedieron
41:55Las cosas
41:56Qué fue
41:56Lo que le pasó
41:57A su mamá
41:58Y él lo narra
41:58Tal y cual
42:02Alejandro
42:03Fue un hombre
42:03Muy vil
42:06Nos quitó
42:07Una parte
42:08of our hearts.
42:10It took us a piece of my soul.
42:15Well, I just ask them,
42:18I ask them justice.
42:20They don't take them out of the prison.
42:23I ask them justice for my daughter.
42:26My daughter didn't deserve to have that death,
42:29the truth.
42:38Their friends are rich and we are married with someone.
42:41They don't have enough sleep with her.
42:42They don't have enough sleep with her.
42:42So, they have a very good sleep.
42:42So, let's keep going.
42:42You
