00:10You
00:11Do not sit here in front of my gym!
00:14A closet is still closed.
00:16Oh, you!
00:17Calm down!
00:18You're not allowed in here!
00:22Relax!
00:22You're not allowed in here!
00:24You're not allowed in here!
00:28Oh!
00:30See you.
00:34I come in here all the time.
00:36You're not allowed to defend his company right here!
00:38Why would I defend somebody I don't know over someone I come in every day almost and have, like, a
00:44nice camaraderie with?
00:45He has excellent customer service.
00:47Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait!
00:55Customer complaints are at an all-time high.
00:59You fucking size of fish!
01:00Putting workers on the defensive.
01:04With labor shortages, supply chain woes, and a 40% rise in violent retail crime.
01:12It's an all-out battle at the checkout.
01:18The customer is always right.
01:20Call the couch.
01:21It's just plain wrong.
01:23I am a customer.
01:24I'm a customer too, Becky.
01:29In the world of customer service, relationships matter.
01:34And some employees will go out of their way
01:36to make a connection.
01:41Perhaps offering to entertain customers
01:43while they wait for an order.
01:47Or
01:48One, two, three.
01:50Happy birthday to you.
01:54Helping to make their special occasion.
01:56Happy birthday to you.
01:59Happy birthday, dear Tiki.
02:03Even more so.
02:05Happy birthday to you.
02:09And while these extra touches can certainly brighten a customer's day.
02:1442.
02:15Can you see?
02:1643.
02:1844.
02:20Oh, my gosh.
02:24Yes, you do.
02:25They can also bank some serious goodwill for the employee.
02:29Should the need ever arise.
02:31No, ma'am.
02:32I better take a call this morning.
02:34In a fast food restaurant in Texas.
02:37You're absolutely a liar.
02:39You told him that he is going to die.
02:41And as soon as I was walking out, he told me this.
02:43I need to die.
02:45Do you want to make me feel good?
02:48Do you want to make me feel good?
02:48An employee is being confronted by three women because, according to this customer, he made a rude remark about her
02:55weight earlier, which the employee denies.
02:58What kind of person does that to a woman like her?
03:03It's exactly right.
03:05I'm a person.
03:06Yeah.
03:07Well, you tell somebody that they need to go on and die.
03:09I cannot tell that they're not.
03:11How many person did?
03:12You know I did?
03:13Yes, you did.
03:15No, ma'am.
03:16Yes.
03:16Why did you make me feel good?
03:18Why did you make me feel good?
03:19According to media reports, the offended woman came back with two work colleagues.
03:23No, ma'am.
03:24And neither were present when the alleged comment was made.
03:28Who makes me the order?
03:29Why would she get that up?
03:31I got a pickup.
03:32A mobile pickup.
03:34Why would she make that up?
03:36Oh.
03:37Why would she make that up?
03:39Mobile pickup.
03:40When the customer apparently told them the story after returning to work from the restaurant, they decided to come to
03:46her defense.
03:48Why would she make that up, Quinn?
03:49Why would she make that up?
03:51That's Quincy.
03:52That's Quincy.
03:53Quincy.
03:53Why would you make that up?
03:54That's Quincy.
03:54That's Quincy.
03:55My Quincy girl.
03:56We're going to get by Quincy because we're not going to insult you.
03:59Why would you insult her?
04:00I'm going to insult you.
04:01Yeah.
04:02Why would you insult her?
04:03Why would you tell her to go on a diet?
04:05I did not tell the young lady that.
04:07What are you speaking about?
04:09Well, you're going to deny it now.
04:11But the offended customer is not the only one with defenders.
04:14I'm recording for you.
04:16I come in here all the time.
04:18You're not going to defend this young lady right here.
04:19Why would I defend somebody I don't know over someone I come in every day almost and have a nice
04:25time lottery with.
04:26He has excellent customer service every time I've ever been in here.
04:30Though the man filming was also not present for the alleged remark.
04:34The sudden change in dynamic appears to turn the situation on its head.
04:46And the offended customer walks off.
04:51Just as another customer appears to come to the employee's defense.
04:55No, I did not say that.
04:57You're not so interested.
04:59No matter.
05:00I'm glad you get the customer service done.
05:02Well, I'm glad I do customer service every time I come in here.
05:07Seemingly outnumbered, the woman filming leaves.
05:10Wow.
05:11This is crazy.
05:12I've never been doing anything like that.
05:14The loyal customer who defended the employee posts the incident on social media.
05:19Yeah.
05:20You don't tell somebody that they need to go and die.
05:22I did not tell them that they need to go and die.
05:24The video draws millions of views.
05:26With many commenters praising the fast food employee's grace under pressure.
05:31I did not tell the young lady that.
05:33What are you speaking about?
05:34So you're going to deny it now.
05:36Why would she make that up, Quentin?
05:38Why would she make that up?
05:40But regardless of what actually happened.
05:43As soon as I was walking out.
05:45He told me to come here.
05:46While the woman filming may have confronted the cashier in an attempt to have her colleagues back.
05:52You're not interested.
05:53There's some lady right here.
05:54She had no idea how many other customers would ultimately have his.
05:58I'm going to be an excellent customer service every time I've ever been in here.
06:09Noise from businesses can be harmful to health.
06:12And thanks to the Noise Control Act of 1972, many cities across the U.S. have ordinances in place.
06:19Like quiet time from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., decibel caps, and higher restrictions in areas zoned as
06:27residential.
06:28Whether caused by work outside.
06:31It's past midnight.
06:34Like construction.
06:39Why?
06:40Or actually within or around a place of business, like a bar or restaurant.
06:45It's currently 4 a.m.
06:47And I cannot sleep because your establishment is blasting music outside so loud.
06:54Keep in mind, I live across four lanes from which your outside speakers are allowing sound to travel into my
07:02bedroom.
07:03Event space.
07:09Or even a gym.
07:12It's 6 a.m. in Illinois.
07:17And an officer walks into a gym near a residential area to make a simple request.
07:23You want the gym?
07:25You want to turn it down real quick?
07:26No.
07:27Here's our super quick.
07:28No.
07:29No, no.
07:29I'm not doing it.
07:30No, I'm not doing it.
07:31No, I'm not doing it.
07:31No, I'm doing it.
07:32No, I'm doing it.
07:32No, I'm doing it.
07:33Okay, I'm doing it.
07:36Okay, I'm doing it.
07:37According to the case report, this gym is on police radar.
07:41After 36 noise calls over the course of nine months.
07:45And several prior compliance tickets.
07:50You're not welcome.
07:51You're not welcome.
07:53You want to do it like this?
07:55I want to do it like this.
07:56Okay.
07:56I'm going to do it like this.
07:58And unfortunately, it's about to get a whole lot louder.
08:02Can I get another unit?
08:03He's not, uh, abandoned.
08:07A second officer arrives within minutes.
08:11What you got going on?
08:12This the dude?
08:13This big ass dude?
08:15Hell yeah.
08:16He pushed me out.
08:17He pushed you out the gym?
08:19Followed by a third.
08:21What's going on?
08:23And a fourth.
08:24And a fourth.
08:25He kind of is like going to nudge me out.
08:27I open the door.
08:29This is for her ass, man.
08:30This is my problem.
08:32All hours.
08:32You're not sitting here.
08:33All hours.
08:34All my gym.
08:36And Klaus is still up.
08:37F*** you.
08:38Don't f*** me.
08:39Don't f*** me today.
08:41No, there you are.
08:42Yes, you are.
08:43You're sitting here staring at my f***.
08:45These guys don't pay $50.
08:47You think that's why I walk up here for no reason?
08:49I don't give a f*** now.
08:49What the f*** are you going to do to me?
08:51You ain't going to do s***.
08:52What the f*** are you doing rolling 4-D?
08:54You're doing s***.
08:56You're at me.
08:56I'm sorry.
08:58You're at me.
08:58Shut the f*** up.
08:59All of that's just for your ID.
09:00The gym owner is frustrated by the police presence.
09:04You ain't getting s***.
09:05You're about to get s*** sued for harassment.
09:07You're disrupting my s***.
09:09You are disrupting it.
09:11You are causing the scene.
09:13If you give this officer your information, it's a f***.
09:16With that frustration...
09:18You're not allowed in here.
09:19We're not allowed in here.
09:21We're not allowed in here.
09:23We're not allowed in here.
09:23Is the least of his problems.
09:26We're not allowed in here.
09:27We're not allowed in here.
09:29We're not allowed in here.
09:32We're not allowed in here.
09:34We're not allowed in here.
09:34We're not allowed in here.
09:34We're not allowed in here.
09:35We're not allowed in here.
09:36We're not allowed in here.
09:40We're not allowed in here.
09:42We're not allowed in here.
09:43You're about to get sued for harassment.
09:45You're disrupting my...
09:46You are disrupting it.
09:48At a gym in Illinois, the owner is locked in a dispute
09:52with officers responding to a noise complaint.
09:55You're not allowed in here.
09:57And when he tries to walk away...
09:59You're not allowed in here.
10:01You're not allowed in here.
10:03The officers attempt to restrain him.
10:05You're not allowed in here.
10:07Finally doing so...
10:09You're not allowed in here.
10:12With the help of a taser...
10:25A gym member steps in to confront police.
10:29You're not allowed in here.
10:311-T, get it.
10:33You're not allowed in here.
10:34You're not allowed in here.
10:37You're not allowed in here.
10:39You're not allowed in here.
10:42As all four officers still struggled to handcuff the man.
10:46Step back.
10:47That's the...
10:49I swear to you.
10:51More gym members approached to voice their concerns to the officers.
10:55What did you take?
10:56Are you kidding me?
10:58What are you doing?
10:59Are you serious?
11:00He's hitting us in the face too.
11:01But do you think you need to take him?
11:03But you're...
11:05I think I'll do it.
11:06That's right.
11:07Look what you guys just did.
11:08I'm...
11:08It's Wednesday morning at 5 o'clock.
11:11I'm so...
11:12All right.
11:14Turn up.
11:15The officers continue to go about their business.
11:19All right.
11:20Lock up this one.
11:22Wow.
11:23Wow.
11:24And with the man now secured in handcuffs, the police prepared to place him in the squad
11:29car.
11:31I literally was just going to ask you, forget you, bro.
11:33That's it.
11:34You're not doing all this.
11:36Everybody there was cool with you.
11:38No one yelled at you or anything.
11:39You provoked that whole thing.
11:41According to the police report, one of the officers sustains a minor abrasion on the inside
11:46of his bottom lip during the struggle.
11:48Blue case.
11:49Probably.
11:52The gym owner is charged with two counts of resisting a peace officer.
11:57Negative, get the f*** off.
11:58According to court records, county prosecutors filed a motion to drop the criminal complaint
12:04and the charges were dismissed.
12:06It's a...
12:08And while the case is closed, the lesson is clear.
12:12Responding to a police complaint with a level head...
12:16Is infinitely better than this.
12:27While it is certainly the exception rather than the norm, there are myriad ways that customers
12:33can be involved in an accident while in a place of business.
12:43And the same is also true for employees.
12:50And while most businesses do their best to avoid such incidents, there are some threats
12:56that are nearly impossible to predict in Canada.
13:00All right.
13:01Thank you very so much.
13:02It's 1.30 p.m. at a phone repair shop as a customer in the store chats with one of
13:08the
13:08owners while heading toward the door.
13:10Yeah.
13:11Let me know if you figure out a way of being able to sneak out of the country.
13:14The owner's husband and co-owner of the store sits toward the back while an employee is
13:20in between the two.
13:21Worst comes the worst while we're heading for like the mountains in Idaho.
13:25And while it may seem like a relatively quiet moment, it's about to become significantly less
13:32so.
13:38All right.
13:39Thank you very much.
13:40At a phone repair shop in Canada.
13:42It's a lot.
13:45The store's one customer heads out the door.
13:55Multiple security cameras record as just moments after the customer leaves the store, this
14:01silver car appears to speed up and drive straight into the store.
14:10According to news reports, while the male store owner receives some scratches and bruises from
14:15being pushed into the wall, his wife is unscathed, mostly because as luck would have it, she moves
14:23her chair seconds before the car plows through the store, incredibly allowing the falling wall
14:31to just graze her without causing any serious injuries.
14:44The store employee also appears unharmed.
14:48According to media reports, the driver is assessed by emergency crews and cleared of injuries.
14:54The incident is still under investigation.
14:56It is unknown what caused the vehicle to crash, but in a statement to the news, the owner says
15:03nobody really got hurt, so we can't complain too much.
15:08A great reminder that if you're ever in a ground-level store with ample parking, it never
15:15hurts to keep one eye on the lot outside.
15:19Hey!
15:27Every year, millions of customers travel to Africa for safari adventures, fueling a billion-dollar
15:35industry built on the promise of getting closer to the wild than ever before.
15:45And while this is often a life-changing event for those lucky enough to book one of these outings,
15:51it's not always the kind of life change one might be looking for.
15:58It's getting a little crispy, eh?
16:04In Botswana, partners Larry Unrain and Jeff Melvin are with a group on a canoe safari in
16:12the Okavango Delta.
16:13Is it the elephant?
16:15Home to Africa's largest elephant population.
16:19It was actually a birthday present for me for my 50th.
16:23I was looking forward to seeing animals at a fun, safe distance.
16:28It did seem a bit sketchy, though, to be hopping into this little boat when there was elephants
16:35and hippos and crocodiles all around.
16:37But I was going to trust our guides that we were in good hands and we weren't going to do
16:44anything that was going to put us in danger.
16:46For me, it was a bucket list thing.
16:48I always wanted to get there.
16:50Sure enough, it doesn't take long for Larry and Jeff's boat to come within about 30 yards
16:55of an elephant.
16:56We pulled up to the elephant and it was eating grass that was in the water.
17:01It seemed to be just doing its thing.
17:05We were head on and I was in the front.
17:08So I think at that moment, that's when I thought we kind of met eyes.
17:20When the ears went out and I knew we were in trouble.
17:31Within seconds, the guides react, quickly back paddling the canoes to protect the tourists.
17:39But despite the race to safety, the elephant is closing the distance fast.
17:55In Botswana's Okavango Delta, partners Larry Unrain and Jeff Melvin are in a boat with a group
18:02of tourists, all of whom are in a desperate dash to escape a charging elephant.
18:10You're knocking out when the elephant, the elephant's bigger than you.
18:13I'm in this tiny little boat.
18:15Despite the best efforts of the guides to back paddle the boat to safety, there are no match
18:20for the speed of the elephant.
18:31Jeff took the Brumbitt.
18:34And my immediate thought was, I brought him out here for his birthday and I'd get him killed.
18:40As a group of tourists scramble in the water, the guides try to hustle them to safety,
18:44making loud noises to deter the elephant.
18:49But it's still in full charge mode and then slams into a tourist in the next boat.
19:00Oh no.
19:01The elephant charged at that point.
19:05And pushed her underwater.
19:08She disappeared.
19:09Oh no.
19:12It was pretty terrifying in the moment.
19:16Elephants, when in the wild, when provoked, or when they're needing to defend themselves,
19:21they will charge you, hold you down, push you down, and then basically stomp you to death.
19:29The tour guides continue to shout to try to scare the elephant off the woman.
19:34And then she popped up again, and she was on her feet, and she was luckily walking on her own
19:41power.
19:42And that's when the elephants run away into the bush.
19:48And that's when I realized there was babies, like just beyond there, because the grass was really tall,
19:54so we couldn't really see everything.
19:56According to experts, elephant mothers are fiercely protective of their young.
20:01Oh no.
20:02So, it wasn't random aggression, it was protection.
20:07Check, check, check.
20:11Miraculously, the woman makes it out alive.
20:13She just got really lucky, because we were in water,
20:17and hadn't it been for the water being as deep as it was, and the mud being as soft,
20:22she definitely wouldn't have survived.
20:28The tour company has not made a statement regarding this incident,
20:32but Larry and Jeff are grateful for the quick response.
20:35The two boat pullers, basically, they went to hero mode,
20:39and if it wasn't for them, we probably wouldn't be here talking.
20:44I was so joyed that I was still alive, and I was like, wow, I think we somehow survived this.
20:50Completely unharmed.
20:52An important reminder that when it comes to getting up close to the wild,
20:56humans are guests, and not always in control.
21:00We're miles and miles and miles away from any kind of town or civilization,
21:06and we're in their space.
21:09I mean, Africa will come at you and humble you really fast.
21:13Men!
21:15Men!
