00:00I have with me the family of Gordana Kotevsky.
00:03She was age 16 when she was last seen being forced into a vehicle in Powell Street, Charlestown,
00:11whilst returning from Charlestown Square at approximately 9pm on the 24th of November 1994.
00:18Witnesses nearby reported a struggle or hearing a struggle between Gordana and at least two other males
00:25and shortly after a white ute was seen leaving the area.
00:30Despite extensive investigations at the time and in the many years since,
00:35unfortunately, Gordana has not been located.
00:38In 2022, the reward for information into the suspected murder of Gordana Kotevsky
00:47was increased to $1 million.
00:51That NSW Government reward remains on offer today for any information which leads
00:57to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Gordana's disappearance.
01:04In early 2025, detectives from the Lake Macquarie Police District,
01:09along with the NSW Crime Commission, established Strike Force Bamble
01:13to re-examine the disappearance and suspected murder of Gordana.
01:19In April this year, investigators searched a number of properties in both West Walls End and Edgeworth
01:28and seized a number of items which are currently being forensically examined.
01:32We anticipate further searches in the near future and they may include an excavation.
01:40Gordana was only 16 years old when she went missing and for over three decades,
01:46her family and loved ones have lived without answers.
01:50For over three decades, perpetrators have lived without facing justice.
01:56We know that people have information.
01:59It may be something that seemed insignificant at the time.
02:03It may be something that you've just kept to yourself for all of these years.
02:08We urge you to come forward.
02:10If you know something, tell us.
02:14You could help provide the answers that are long overdue to Gordana's family
02:19and bring those that are responsible for Gordana's disappearance to justice.
02:26I'll hand over to Aunty Julie.
02:28She's got a few words.
02:31Thanks for coming today.
02:33We just wanted to say we support all the efforts the detectives and the police
02:39have been putting together over the years in trying to find our beautiful girl.
02:44We support everything that they do and we hope that this time we get the answers that we need.
02:51And if anybody has any information, if they could please come forward
02:54either directly to Belmont Police Station or via Crimestoppers.
