00:00This is the DJI LITO X1, DJI's latest quadcopter drone launched alongside the standard DJI
00:05LITO model and it has a fantastic feature set for the price. Here are 10 things I discovered
00:10while testing the LITO series. Its design, weight and build quality is very similar to the mini
00:15series such as the mini 4K, meaning LITO drones fit in a large coat pocket when folded away.
00:21Both LITO models feel very much like new minis in spirit. LITO drones are in the COUKO class
00:27designation so they could be flown almost anywhere and close to people. In my testing the LITO X1
00:32was excellent in flight. It battled high coastal winds well and was generally stable. It also made
00:38very little noise in flight despite its 81 decibel rating being much quieter than that Avata 360.
00:44I was able to fly in a busy park with dog walkers, cyclists and pedestrians in close proximity
00:49without bothering others. Battery life is much better than the Avata 360 and Neo2, listed at up to 36
00:55minutes. Though like any drone those numbers are for controlled optimum conditions and will vary
01:00for real world use. Obstacle detection features, which is a fantastic addition given the drone's
01:05price and it works really well. The LITO X1 model even has LiDAR. Compare this to the mini 4K which
01:10only has a downward sensor and it's easy to see why LITO models will appeal more to beginners.
01:15Return to home works really well and landed the drone within inches of its takeoff spot.
01:19The X1's 1 over 1.3 inch sensor is the same as those used in the Avata 2, Flip and
01:25mini 4 Pro drones
01:26and is solid in general, although it has a tendency to overexpose lighter colours
01:30when using the default settings. Also, the digital zoom does show a noticeable drop off in quality,
01:36particularly at its tightest setting where things look decidedly soft at 4K.
01:40The cheaper LITO 1 sensor is the same as the Neo2 and is still pretty good,
01:44being an improved version of the mini 4Ks. However, it lacks the dynamic range of the LITO X1 sensor.
01:48For most people, the pricey X1 model makes more sense for the following reasons.
01:53Low light photos and videos are fine on both models, but the X1's 10-bit colour depth and
01:57D-Log M colour profile give users much more headroom for tweaking in post-production.
02:02The pricey X1 also adds 42GB of built-in storage, 50MB WiFi 6 connectivity aka quick transfer and LiDAR.
02:10The DJI LITO X1 costs £299 or £429 for the Fly More Combo with the DJI RC-N3 controller,
02:19while the DJI LITO X1 costs £369 or £599 for the Fly More Combo with the fancier DJI RC-2
02:27controller with screen. There's no US pricing or availability at launch.
