Thinking about buying the LG C6 OLED? You've come to the right video. In Kate's LG C6 OLED TV review, she'll tell you why the C6 is one of the best TVs of 2026, but also why there's plenty of good reason to just get a previous-gen LG C5 OLED on sale if you look at the C6 vs. C5 differences year over year.

With excellent brightness, color and gaming features backed up by our benchmarks, the LG C6 is what LG TVs do best. But is it the *best* for you?

00:00Every year, there is one TV that all of you guys want the verdict on.
00:03Of course, I'm talking about the LG C-Series OLED TV.
00:07This is the LG C6 OLED, and at the risk of giving you an excuse to not watch this whole
00:13video,
00:14it might again be the OLED TV most people should buy in 2026.
00:19But, and this is very important, size matters more than ever.
00:23I'll tell you why in just a moment.
00:25Let's get into my LG C6 review.
00:30I'm not going to bury the lead here. The picture quality on the C6 is excellent.
00:34But before I get into the details, this is the 65-inch LG C6 with the same wool-led panel
00:41as on the C5.
00:42Only the 77 and 83-inch C6, which are technically called the C6H, get that brighter RGB tandem OLED panel.
00:50In other words, anything I'm going to say about the C6's picture performance in this video
00:55only applies to the 65-inch and smaller sizes.
00:59Pause to see the size and pricing breakdown for the entire lineup,
01:02and make sure you're subscribed for when we get the C6H into the lab for testing.
01:07But let's talk more about the C6 performance.
01:10OLED is already known for those deep blacks and contrast,
01:13but LG keeps squeezing a little bit more brightness out of these panels every single year.
01:17And the C6 is brighter than the C5, a little more than 16%.
01:21That's not major, but also not nothing.
01:24You're getting really punchy HDR, rich color, and a super clean cinematic image overall.
01:30I've been watching everything from big cinematic stuff to random YouTube clips, and nothing looks bad.
01:36Like, ever.
01:37And that's kind of the point with this TV's picture.
01:40LG has basically just been refining a formula that's worked for it really, really well.
01:44If you want the full breakdown of test numbers and side-by-sides,
01:48I'll throw some of them on the screen,
01:49or you can go more in-depth by hitting up the full review in the description.
01:53So how is this different from last year's C5?
01:57The honest answer?
01:58It's not really that different.
01:59Yes, the C6 is technically brighter, slightly smoother, a few upgrades under the hood.
02:04But in real life, most people probably are not going to notice a massive difference.
02:09If you're shopping right now and want to know whether picking up a discounted C5 is the smarter move,
02:16you're basically choosing between the latest and greatest with the C6 here,
02:19or the almost as good, but way cheaper C5.
02:22I personally know what I'd do, and it's linked below.
02:27Moving on to the finer details, I don't always go that deep into gaming in my TV reviews,
02:32but the C-series is a very popular choice for gamers, and for a good reason.
02:37This thing is stacked.
02:38Four HDMI 2.1 ports, super low input lag, up to 165Hz on PC, VRR, game optimizer, all of it.
02:46I played some Spider-Man.
02:48I would be very happy to sit in front of this thing for hours gaming.
02:51It felt great overall.
02:53The other good stuff.
02:54Design-wise, LG didn't mess with a good thing.
02:57It's thin, minimal, clean, fits basically any setup.
03:00Then we have the Magic Remote, not my favorite TV remote that's out there,
03:05but it's easy enough to use and new for the 2026 LG OLEDs.
03:10You get a custom button or a favorite that lets you map it to any app or program you prefer.
03:15As for WebOS, it is still one of my favorite smart TV platforms.
03:20It's fast, easy to navigate.
03:22Everything's where you expect it to be.
03:24There is a lot more AI stuff baked in this year.
03:27Recommendations, voice features, all that stuff.
03:29Some of it's useful, some of it's whatever, but let's be real.
03:33You are probably not buying this TV for AI.
03:37You're also probably not buying this TV for sound.
03:39I see this anytime I review an OLED TV, but you're going to want a soundbar.
03:44And there are some benefits to staying within LG's system.
03:47In fact, LG launched the SoundSuite soundbar system this year, and it is pricey.
03:52But Dolby Atmos FlexConnect and its calibration features are really impressive from the demos I've seen.
03:58So I do think it's worth checking out, especially if you're planning to do a one-time home theater or
04:04entertainment den upgrade that you're investing in for years to come.
04:09So buy or skip.
04:11Here's the deal, you guys.
04:12If you want one of the best OLED TVs of 2026, easy recommendation.
04:16Buy the LG C6, preferably with our link in the description.
04:20But hey, whatever works for you, I'll be happy for you.
04:23It looks incredible.
04:24It games incredibly well.
04:26And it nails all of the fundamentals of a great OLED TV.
04:29But if you are even a little bit price conscious, skip it and instead get the C5 on sale.
04:36This year, maybe more than ever, the upgrade isn't really dramatic enough to justify paying that full price.
04:42Unless, of course, you are looking at those new C6H models, which may be a very different story in the
04:48scope of improvements to picture quality.
04:50But again, you'll just have to stay tuned for that.
04:53Anyways, thank you so much for watching this episode of Buy or Skip from Tom's Guide.
04:58I will catch you next time.
