00:04:14we've hit our goal the big priority now is just getting every last ounce we can while prices are
00:04:20like this yeah it's pretty cool 31 year old mining mogul parker schnabel is running through the
00:04:30finish line gold prices are at an absolute all-time high they hit four thousand dollars an ounce today
00:04:39which is very very cool it's a good time to be gold miner and have a lot of wash plants
00:04:46running
00:04:47we've got four wash plants running parker is already breaking records this season with over
00:04:5440 million dollars in gold banked but he's determined to catch former mentor tony beats
00:05:03who is leading by 120 ounces bit of a bummer that tony is a bit ahead of me we've been
00:05:11on top for
00:05:12a long time it's getting cold and who knows how much longer we've got frost will probably cut us
00:05:18off from being able to keep plants running but we're going to finish strong we'll give her one
00:05:24last good push right now and see what we come up with hey guys how's it going thanks for um

00:05:59for the final push parker's depending on his top lieutenants mitch blasky tyson lee and brennan

00:06:17no doubt yeah what's the plan now i want to just make sure that we finish strong here like despite
00:06:25you know we hit the goal but um tony this spring told me that his goal was like six or
00:06:31seven thousand
00:06:32and he's over 10 000 and you know me well enough to know how much i hate losing
00:06:40so i think you really have to turn your feet race up and all that jazz
00:06:45that's mandatory at dominion i mean we need to get those pay piles hammered out yeah they're still
00:06:52pretty big mitch keep roxanne running and that stripping project is the main priority
00:07:00and brennan just whatever these guys need yeah there's not a lot of tolerance for screw-ups or
00:07:07delays
00:07:10if there's ever a time to push extra late now's the time yeah it would just go until either
00:07:16the weather shuts us down or every plant's out of pay one of the two

00:07:30at parker's flagship dominion claim tyson must loose the last of the golden miles stockpiled pay
00:07:39through wash plants big red and golden goose
00:07:45and with bob in the bridge cut mine as much of the remaining 30 acres as possible
00:07:5210 miles south at parker's least ground kennan stewart's
00:07:59mitch must run the pay from the last two acres of pit two with wash plant roxanne
00:08:05and remove the final four acres of worthless overburden from a new cut for next season
00:08:14all before winter freezes them out
00:08:26right now we're at 26 on our uh adjuster here all of a sudden you put that at 40
00:08:34look at how fast that dirt's coming off that belt
00:08:39i've got the yardage cranked as fast as roxanne can run try to get it done as fast as possible
00:08:45there's so much to do here to finish off the sluicing we have to do plus get all that mud
00:08:51removed
00:08:51for next season i don't know if this is even remotely close to possible but i'm going to try
00:09:02this year my workload has pretty much tripled it's been a struggle at times
00:09:08right now at golden goose we've increased the feed rate to 250 yards an hour which only puts more
00:09:15pressure on us the weather's going to really start freezing on us any day now and i know everyone
00:09:21wants to go home but you can't go home until this pile is complete we're going to be sluicing to
00:09:27the bitter end

00:11:05parker seems to be right down my heels so we'll just see on the end of the day who lands

00:11:15we made one more move for the season mostly slot put it back into the early bird cut
00:11:22to stay ahead of parker tony is matching his former protege's four plant final push
00:11:40at his paradise hill operation tony has tasked son mike with finishing stockpiles at his trommel
00:11:48and harold wash plants 40 miles south at indian river his twin shaker decks sluice a lot and find a
00:11:59lot
00:11:59are in the 46 acre corner cut but after two months of non-stop running the mammoth cut only has
00:12:09enough
00:12:10pay left to run one plan to keep both sluicing tony needs to move sluice a lot upstream back to
00:12:20where
00:12:20he started the season at a new three acre extension of his early bird cut
00:12:30everything is hooked up everything is ready and off we go
00:12:50so far so good plant is following good
00:12:54couple corners couple hills nothing we haven't done before but we still gotta get on it and make it work
00:13:05nice to keep this up we'll be putting some rocks in there tonight this will be good
00:13:11the guys in the cut they'd rather be ready
00:13:17stakes are extra high with the price of gold at the moment at the new early bird extension
00:13:23tony's crew run full throttle to get the cut ready before sluice a lot arrives
00:13:31there is a bit of a race this season between tony and parker to see who can get the most

00:13:39obviously i'm rooting for the king of the klondike i'm team tony all the way i mean of course
00:13:46i wouldn't say that tony's gonna keep that title this year
00:13:49um i'd say parker's gonna win that one he's gonna have it in the bag
00:13:54up here where we're dumping it's super soft and we're almost getting stuck
00:14:00but we got to get it done we got to get sluicing they're moving sluice a lot

00:18:01tony is back to four plants running in his push for mining supremacy
00:18:08i think it'd be hard for parker to compete i think everyone who works here has seen how much we've
00:18:14moved this season
00:18:14and we have no doubt tony is the king of the klondike

00:18:43there's quite a bit of pressure
00:18:44right now the plants ran out of pay still no burden trying to get into pay as quick as we

00:18:55this is one of the worst spots i've ever been in you got to get back on that goal you
00:18:58got to do it
00:18:59quick i know the guys are nervous i'm nervous winter will soon freeze all the miners out but unlike others
00:19:08rick ness's future is on a knife's edge
00:19:12it's been a tough year there's no doubt about it these guys have fought through
00:19:16a lot of that we shouldn't have to fight through
00:19:20we're 420 ounces shy of our goal yet and uh that's a lot
00:19:23that's a lot of ounces to get and and we don't have a whole lot of time to do it
00:19:27in a chaotic season of uncertainty and major missteps rick gambled a million
00:19:35dollars mining a massive new cut
00:19:38only
00:19:38to get no gold
00:19:40and that was a big debacle a huge waste of money and time
00:19:43people are hoping that i'm panicking
00:19:45the vultures are circling right now but i'm not panicking yet
00:19:50buyout offers
00:19:51from big shots tony and parker have come in
00:19:55i've been offered a seven-figure amount for this and uh it's a lot but it's tough to ignore
00:20:02maybe it's time to go
00:20:05but we hit our goal or get past it and then the profits can continue to get better
00:20:09why would i leave
00:20:13now as rick's crew fight to dig out the final 10 feet to hit pay in the last chance cut
00:20:21he's got a risky hail mary plan to get more gold fast
00:20:27it's going to be a fight but with these guys all in on it i know we can get it

00:22:27i hope this move is going to be worth it in lightning but you know we won't know until
00:22:32we start running some dirt we do reach that 1800 my mind's going to be blown because with all the
00:22:37struggles we've had this year since i've joined rick it's always been a push it's always been a gamble
00:22:44and in rick fashion we are swinging for the fence again at the end of the year while the stripping
00:22:52crew battle on in the last chance cut rick and kai head eight miles north to lightning creek to sluice

00:25:18that's the belt that drives the cooling system that's why the thing's smoking because it's overheating
00:25:22this tension should not be that loose that's what holds tension on the belt right so when it's loose
00:25:27it just hops hops hops and that belt just rips and then it stopped cooling so then it overheated
00:25:32this thing just shot to hell she's tossed rick's desperate push to get two plants running is over
00:25:41before it even started
00:25:44very quick very catastrophic end to the day
00:25:46got half a bucket through that thing i mean that's
00:25:48it's way worth getting out of bed for
00:25:49now his only hope for 420 ounces lies in the last chance cut and getting monster red sluicing
00:26:00well that's pretty sad showing the last chance cut that's what we have to do the goal will be there
00:26:07it's just whether or not we can get at it well hopefully it's enough
00:26:27it's getting cold and people are wore out it's just been a long season for everybody
00:26:32the overarching theme for me is doing everything we can to find as much gold as we can
00:26:40100 miles west with four wash plants going full tilt parker is within striking distance of tony's
00:26:49gold haul it puts a huge amount of pressure on keeping wash plants running it's just consumes my
00:26:59thoughts now in the golden mile golden goose and big red power through the pay piles at a combined
00:27:08season max of 500 yards an hour i'm doing pretty good down here at big red
00:27:15so i could do my best to get through as much as i can

00:30:56hour and a half back so the plane is paying for itself on runs like this parker owns a cessna

00:35:27what separates me from tony is just more planning and foresight less smashy smashy
00:35:37but tony did pull out 10 000 ounces this year so he's doing something right
00:35:43unlike his swashbuckling old man all season the sophomore mind boss has been sluicing slow and steady
00:35:52to protect his equipment and only wash plant but low risk has delivered low rewards leaving kevin
00:36:00nearly 800 ounces short of his 2 000 ounce gold
00:36:07that's a big number for us because we need that to come back next year that covers all our costs
00:36:12that
00:36:12gets us enough to get started next year and if we don't have that we're running on fumes
00:36:21so we're gonna fight and we're gonna make it happen

00:39:03injectors this kind of puts us dead in the water until we can fix it find a replacement or something

00:39:14can't stop now though so i will go bug face and see if she can do the magic that she
00:39:20do
