00:00The number one reason why Baltimore is so hot right now, because if this were 2021 and we're at CityLab,
00:08the only thing people want to talk to me about is, how am I going to reduce gun violence in
00:13Baltimore?
00:14Now, the only thing people want to talk to me about, how did I reduce gun violence in Baltimore?
00:19We've seen so many neighborhoods take great, great, great change, like Johnson Square in East Baltimore, Oliver in East Baltimore,
00:26where they used to film The Wire.
00:28And now they're selling houses over there, like $300,000.
00:32How long until we reference The Wire?
00:34Yeah, you know, it's going to happen eventually.
00:36Yeah, it had to happen.
00:38A blessing and a curse, I imagine, for Baltimore Discord.
00:41Mainly a curse for us.
00:42Yes, mainly a curse for us.
00:43We don't like this show at all.
00:45Oh, really?
00:46Can we just change the entire subject of this interview and have you go off on The Wire for a
00:51while?
00:51I guess we understand it and we appreciate it for the storytelling.
00:55But, people don't look at NYPD Blue and think, like, oh, this is all New Yorkers.
01:01Right, I see what you're saying.
01:03That's what I'm saying, right?
01:04And for us, we've only had those shows.
01:07Yeah, right.
01:07So we had The Wire, we had The Corner, we had Homicide, Life on the Street.
01:11Now, when they maybe do a complete Baltimore story on a show, HBO, hint, hint.
01:17Because in New York, we have Seinfeld and Friends and all these other versions.
01:20We only have the bag.
01:22And, you know, people are just like, oh, yeah, I saw the show.
01:25This is what the whole city is.
01:26Yeah.
