09:15on my part i had my golf cart carrying all my supplies and i went to go move a
09:22bag of potting soil over and it landed and got stuck on the gas pedal the golf cart was headed
09:29towards our well if it had stayed straight i think i would have been okay but then it just took

09:42my daughter all of a sudden says to me hey dad the golf cart's running through the yard
09:46but then she said dad is going really fast and mom is chasing it
09:50so i get up thinking this is going to be funny to watch
09:58the golf cart went about two football fields in length before it crashed into the fence
10:05i was just very happy when it finally stopped so i could get to it
10:17the fence was our neighbor's fence they have a 13 acre farm next to us the golf cart went straight

10:23the horse pasture and i thought oh my gosh these horses are going to get out
10:31by the time i made it outside it had already crashed through the fence and it stopped the first
10:37thing i thought was exactly what came out of my mouth
10:42how in the world did this happen and what do i get to fix next i really thought the golf

10:51going to be in a much worse state than it was the horses weren't anywhere near the opening of the
10:56fence and i was delighted to see that there was just a few boards that had to be replaced so

11:02a quick fix we've been married over 20 years he's very used to my mishaps and he takes it like

11:12afterwards i see people in public and they're like you're the golf cart girl
11:17and i'm like this is what i'm known for i thought i would be known for better things

15:02I went into practical mode.
15:03I was just like, let's get to the hospital.
15:05And so at first, you know, I tried different things.
15:07I tried getting my son's stroller,
15:09and I tried to put him in the stroller.
15:11I was absolutely screaming my pain.
15:13Yeah, there was no way I was fitting in the stroller.
15:14It just wasn't going to happen.
15:16And so finally, I just, I saw my son's, like, blanket
15:19on the ground.
15:19I was like, you know what?
15:20I'm going to roll you onto this blanket
15:21and then just drag you out.
15:26There was a lot of comments.
15:28Like, why didn't you call an ambulance?
15:30I don't have money for that.
15:32I'm just like, who has money for an ambulance?

15:37I think we were more worried about, like,
15:39what the neighbors would think.
15:41We just moved to this new neighborhood,
15:42and they're going to see me dragging out this body
15:45out the front door.
15:51Logistically, that's when the nightmare started,
15:53because we had to figure out how to get me
15:56into the back of the truck.
15:57So then we got a medicine ball.
16:00What we ultimately decided to do was use it as a ramp
16:03as Lacey pushed my body over so that I could sit on top
16:07of the ball inside of the truck.
16:09When we were putting him into the truck,
16:11I just thought it was hilarious.
16:12I thought if anyone was watching us,
16:14we'd look like we're crazy people.
16:16It's absolutely not dignifying at all.
16:18I was humiliated.
16:20I'm like, see, this is why you should work out.
16:22You know, he hates when I say that.
16:23As we were driving to the hospital,
16:26every single curve and bump, I felt it all,
16:29and it felt like it was an eternity to go three miles.
16:32At the hospital, you can't sit down in the wheelchair,
16:35and so he just lays forward on the wheelchair.
16:39They did scans on my lower back, and then they said,
16:42unfortunately, you have herniated two discs in your back.
16:46They let me know that I needed to go see a specialist
16:48and that it would require PT
16:50and possibly further medical diagnosis.
16:54I would say I'm about 90% to 95% better now.
16:58I have started working out.
17:00My wife, I have to thank for that.

17:04And his life is completely better now that he works out.
17:06And it absolutely is better.
17:08So always listen to your wife.
