00:00Bit of an audacious move on the part of Ryan Cohen, Neil. Is this deal executable?
00:07It's certainly a surprise, Bonnie. As you mentioned, eBay's four times the size.
00:14Now, the deal already is getting questions from some of the Wall Street analysts.
00:19And the biggest question probably is that the deal will require some sort of $20 billion of debt funding
00:26to try and get this over the line. Now, as you mentioned, the CEO is ambitious.
00:32He's a controversial character. So I wouldn't bet against the potential plan.
00:40But there are lots of puts and takes to get this kind of deal over the line
00:45and to try and suggest that you could create eBay as a major rival to Amazon.
00:51Well, to put it in perspective, Amazon spends more in a year in CapEx than eBay and GameStop's market cap
00:59combined.
01:00You know, Ryan Cohen would lead the combined entity, according to Ryan Cohen, if it all goes ahead.
01:06What would he actually try to run? I mean, is he going to run an auction platform?
01:12Yeah, great question. You know, eBay's asset light.
01:18So maybe it's bringing kind of the digital know-how to such a business.
01:23But he's certainly bringing his own branding to the strategy.
01:27Now, I suppose in many ways, kind of eBay is a brand that needs some new impetus and new fire,
01:35which kind of, you know, it's one of those companies from a decade back when it had the real brand.
01:42So maybe that's what it's all about, is that rebranding of someone who knows exactly how to get excitement around
01:49a brand.
01:49That's for sure.
