01:06week on the radio.
01:08And to avoid rumors and speculation, I want you to hear it from me that I was offered a voluntary
01:18retirement opportunity and I decided to take it.
01:22And I know that that sounds very simple and easy decision and it involved a lot of thought, a lot
01:31of tears, mostly Melissa's.
01:35Because, you know, as most people know, I have been on the radio for over 35 years and it is
01:42what I have done for the majority of my adult life and has been a big part of who I
01:49am.
01:49And I have to say that I have had a radio career that most radio people dream of.
01:57I really have.
01:59I've worked with some of the greatest and most talented people in this industry, three of them right here in
02:07the room with me.
02:08I love you guys.
02:10And that was probably one of the hardest parts was in this decision.
02:15And I have made incredible connections with you, our listeners, over all of these years.
02:23I mean, many of you have followed me from station to station to station, and I can't even express how
02:30grateful I am for that.
02:31I mean, you cannot ask for a better radio journey than the one that I've had, but it is time.
02:40And I will say for me, I really hate the word retire.
02:44I really do.
02:45And I don't want to say that because I honestly don't feel like that is what I'm doing, and it
02:51doesn't feel like what I'm doing.
02:52And it just really feels like, for me, having a new life to do and create more of the things
03:01that I've wanted to do but haven't had the time or the energy to do.
03:06And that includes working on it and expanding Positively Pebbles, which is near and dear to my heart.
03:13And I'll tell you more about that later.
03:15But, I mean, I'm excited to get eight hours of sleep a night, not set an alarm, to spend time
03:23with my baby Zola, to go to my nephew RJ's baseball games, my other nephew ZJ's swimming lessons.
03:31And I am really grateful, I have to say, to have the opportunity to do what most people in radio
03:40don't get the chance to do, to say goodbye on the radio.
03:43And to be able to thank you, our listeners, for I can't even begin to tell you all of the
03:51joy that you all have given me over the years.
