Hey everyone. Happy Star Wars Day for 2026. i hope you have a great day. This year I decided to play Star Wars Dark Forces. I know I ahve done this once before. I did the PS1 version once, and I did the PC version with a source port. This time, though, I am playing the remaster from Nightdive. As usual, they did an excellent job with this. It looks great with cleaned up uprezzed textures, wide screen and resolutions up to 4k. The reworked cut scenes look excellent. It looks and playhs great. If you have never played it before, I recommend picking it up. It is worth your time, especiallyh if you love boomer shooters and Star Wars. 00:01:23it looks a lot better i wonder if we get dinged for mini versions of star wars music

00:01:43also this game is awesome the new empire stretches its evil clutches across the gallows consuming
00:01:51planets with devastating results through many struggles the rebel alliance has learned of a new
00:01:58imperial battle station death star with enough power to destroy an entire planet
00:02:06unable to acquire the plans to the deadly space station the rebels have employed the skills of kyle katarn
00:02:13known to most as a mercenary for hire katarn is a rogue figure who has a partial alliance with the
00:02:21rebels armed with only a blaster pistol and an intimate knowledge of imperial methods prepared because he
00:02:29was an imperial officer once kyle prepares to infiltrate the imperial base which has the plan where the in
00:02:37which the plans are captured
00:02:48i don't know what you mean by that
00:02:56but yeah this this game is awesome it's uh if you've never played it before this is an early
00:03:02example of putting a fair bit more to your story in a first person shooter than um
00:03:13um was normal at the time now obviously uh story and fps is a lot more common now
00:03:21but when this came out no it really wasn't the story was a means to get you to go kill
00:03:27things
00:03:30yeah pretty much
00:03:32when this came out it having uh cut scenes that were fully voiced that told a proper story was something
00:03:42pretty new at the time
00:03:45actually fully voiced cut scenes was fairly new in general at the time
00:03:50but it was a big deal
00:03:53and told a fairly interesting story that expands after the um
00:04:01the uh first mission where you're just retreat you're just retrieving the death star plans because
00:04:06they hire him for a second job to investigate something called the dark trooper project
00:04:12and it's really it's awesome and it's worth your time to sit down and play the whole series is
00:04:18especially uh the third and the fourth and fifth games but if the third and fourth games
00:04:25but getting the second one to run properly which is not something you should really skip because it's a great
00:04:32game
00:04:32it is a pain in the ass i will tell you that and night dive really should remaster it
