00:00:00Oh my god!
00:00:02Oh, look at that!
00:00:03Absolutely phenomenal!
00:00:05Rooney O'Connor!
00:00:07Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:00:49Hello, three games on tonight's Match of the Day.
00:00:52Big matches in the race for Europe and a huge one at the bottom of the table.
00:00:56You can also vote for April's goal of the month.
00:00:59And big games means the big hitters are in.
00:01:01Good evening, Micah Richards and Alan Shearer.
00:01:04And good evening to the rest of our regular pundits.
00:01:06West Ham's defeat against Brentford yesterday meant that a win would lift Spurs out of the bottom three.
00:01:12They faced Aston Villa this evening.
00:01:13And your commentator is Mark Scott.
00:01:17Well, West Ham's loss would have given Spurs a lift.
00:01:20Roberto Deserbi's been trying to rev his men up too.
00:01:25Telling them they have to silence the negative voices inside of them.
00:01:29Tottenham haven't had any positives against Villa this season.
00:01:32Losing in both league and cup to them already.
00:01:34But it is a much-changed side they face tonight.
00:01:37With Martinez, Cash, Tielemans and Rodgers.
00:01:40The only ones who also started the Europa League loss at Forest on Thursday.
00:01:45Spurs' long-awaited and much-needed league win last weekend came at a cost.
00:01:50With Simmons and Solanke, the latest names added to the injury list.
00:01:55Tell and Richarlison replaced them with Udoggi and Paulinia in for the bench.
00:02:00Spence and Bersuma.
00:02:04Important for Villa, vital for Spurs.
00:02:08Can they take advantage of West Ham's wobble yesterday and climb above the hammers into safety?
00:02:17Barkley didn't get there, Benteke onto it.
00:02:19Richarlison, early chance, which he snatched at.
00:02:23Richarlison on the swivel, saw his strike, actually taken off his toes by the backtracking Uri Tielemans.
00:02:32One down, four to go for Roberto Deservi.
00:02:34He reckons Spurs can win all of their final matches.
00:02:37Which is pretty punchy, given they've only managed eight wins all season.
00:02:43Pedro Poro.
00:02:45Leeson Colomoani.
00:02:46Wings is across.
00:02:47Martinez had come out as well.
00:02:50Wings off for safety first.
00:02:54No John McGinn in the Villa squad today.
00:02:56Unai Emery says that he's not 100%,
00:02:58so they decided not to risk him with the second leg of that Europa League semi coming up
00:03:03against Forrest here on Thursday.
00:03:07That's going to be a long delivery from Danso here.
00:03:12Benteke couldn't get to it.
00:03:13Gallagher will.
00:03:14He might have a pop here.
00:03:16Oh!
00:03:17Connor Gallagher!
00:03:18His first goal for Tottenham!
00:03:21And it could be seismic for Spurs!
00:03:26What a way and what a time to get your first goal for the club!
00:03:32Oh, they believe now that the escape is on.
00:03:35Tottenham in front early, thanks to Connor Gallagher.
00:03:40Looked like the danger had been dealt with from the initial throw,
00:03:44but Connor Gallagher had other ideas.
00:03:47One touch to bring it down, the next to hook it beyond Martinez and in.
00:03:52And Spurs find themselves in front and on course to escape the relegation zone.
00:03:59Villa nil, Spurs one.
00:04:02Tottenham!
00:04:03Decent value for their lead.
00:04:07Here's Kohler Mouani, three to aim for in the area.
00:04:11Kohler Mouani nearly finds Richarlison.
00:04:14Paulinho urges to have a hit, obliges, and hits the post!
00:04:20Flag's up now.
00:04:22A close shave for Aston Villa there.
00:04:26As João Paulinho, the hero in the Midlands last weekend,
00:04:30nearly gave Spurs daylight at Villa.
00:04:34Well, Unai Emery wants energy from the fans.
00:04:37They're doing their best to try and get the Villa team going.
00:04:42Gallagher.
00:04:45Tell.
00:04:46Dangerous for Charleston, it's up there!
00:04:48And Martinez makes a save from Kohler Mouani.
00:04:52Another chance for Tottenham to go two up.
00:04:55And again, Martinez is able to save the day for Villa.
00:04:59No one picking up Randall Kohler Mouani.
00:05:01And patted over the top by Martinez.
00:05:11Let's go all the way across.
00:05:13And Danso, that was travelling.
00:05:16The doggy.
00:05:19Villa look ragged right now, Spurs sets bluff and it's two.
00:05:23It's Richarlison!
00:05:25Tottenham Hotspur in Dreamland!
00:05:28Who would have seen this coming?
00:05:32Spurs 2-0 up inside of 25 minutes
00:05:39They can barely believe it
00:05:41And the Tottenham fans are probably struggling to take it in too
00:05:46Just look at the amount of time and space that Spurs had on the ball here
00:05:50And boy did they make it pay
00:05:53Richarlas had not picked up properly
00:05:56And as soon as he got on the end of that gorgeous ball in from Mattis Tao
00:06:00There was only going to be one end result
00:06:04Villa nil Spurs 2
00:06:06This is no smash and grab
00:06:08Tottenham fully deserving of their two goal lead
00:06:13Aston Villa look like the side in the relegation zone right now
00:06:17I've not seen many Aston Villa games this season
00:06:20But I would wager a fair amount that this is probably one of the worst halves
00:06:24That they have had this season
00:06:25He might agree with me
00:06:27He certainly does
00:06:30Villa's recent league form has been a bit patchy
00:06:33But they do still have one of the best home records this season
00:06:3635 points from 17 games
00:06:39So this is very out of character for them
00:06:44Gallagher side down by Barkley
00:06:46Who will become the first Villa player in the book
00:06:51Spurs on their way out of the drop zone
00:06:53And on course for back-to-back league wins for the first time since the first week of the season
00:07:02Rodgers passes on here for Abraham
00:07:04Tammy Abraham
00:07:06While the speed and execution of the tackle from Van der Ven gets Spurs out of jail
00:07:13Could have been the first serious sight of Kinski's goal for Villa but Van der Ven judged it perfectly
00:07:22He would have been furious with the first half
00:07:24He'll be equally disappointed with the second I think
00:07:27Because there's been no sign of any kind of response
00:07:30Almost as if they're resigned to their fate this evening
00:07:42Binx
00:07:43Bailey
00:07:52for the kick
00:08:00Bailey with this corner
00:08:02with 90 seconds of the 90 minutes to play
00:08:09and headed over the top
00:08:10and that's as good as it's got for Villa this evening
00:08:13Tyrone Mings was up
00:08:15I think it might have just come off his shoulder
00:08:17this is the best that Aston Villa have conjured up
00:08:20in front of goal all night
00:08:22and it wasn't exactly great was it?
00:08:26I haven't had many enjoyable experiences this season
00:08:29that those Spurs fans are drinking in every minute of this
00:08:46Tiedemanns
00:08:48Lindelof now Bailey
00:08:53Cash
00:08:55Buendia
00:08:56Villa on the board
00:08:59but there is barely enough time for the game to be restarted
00:09:04it's their first effort on target
00:09:06and it's ended up in the back of the Spurs net
00:09:10beautiful ball in from Matty Cash
00:09:12and guided in ever so well by Emi Buendia
00:09:15little chance for Kinski with that
00:09:17but little chance of it meaning anything
00:09:20in terms of the result tonight
00:09:27Spurs storm out of the relegation zone
00:09:30they have been brilliant tonight
00:09:32and suddenly look like a team brimming with belief
00:09:36and their cruise against an abject Aston Villa tonight
00:09:40spells trouble for another side in Clareton Blue
00:09:44as West Ham now dropped below the dotted line
00:09:49Aston Villa 1
00:09:50Tottenham Hotspur 2
00:09:53what did you get so right today that meant that you dominated the game as you did
00:09:57but the high pressure for sure
00:09:59and the ball possession for me is not a surprise
00:10:01it's not my credit because I'm lucky to work with a lot of very important players
00:10:08some people will say you made seven changes
00:10:10and did that have an impact on how you played
00:10:13what's your take on that
00:10:16last week we lost against Fulham
00:10:20and which player played against Fulham
00:10:23and which player played against Nottingham
00:10:26and we lost two matches
00:10:28and we lost as well with another player
00:10:30we can lose and we can win with every player
00:10:34pressure becomes important at this stage of the season
00:10:36you're now out of the relegation zone
00:10:38West Ham in it
00:10:39We have to feel the same pressure
00:10:43football is different
00:10:46can change week by week
00:10:48we can't forget what we felt before the Wolverhampton game
00:10:53and before the Palinha goal in Wolverhampton
00:10:57we were light
00:10:59and so we have to push again
00:11:01and I can't permit anyone to think in a different way than me
00:11:06I actually pretty much forgot I scored towards the end of the game
00:11:09because I was so focused on just us getting the win
00:11:13that I forgot about my goal early on
00:11:15but yeah looking back now in the change room
00:11:18it was a nice goal
00:11:20I took it well and hopefully there's a few more to come
00:11:23you can look back at it on match of the day tonight as well
00:11:25if I can talk you into watching it
00:11:26yeah I will do
00:11:27don't worry about that
00:11:29sure he was very convinced about that
00:11:31which is unflattering to say the least
00:11:34don't be nervous
00:11:35but he is watching
00:11:37look it was good as Spurs
00:11:39as well as Spurs have played in a long time
00:11:41and it was right from the off
00:11:43that they set their intentions up
00:11:44yeah they pressed high from the front
00:11:46from the start of the game
00:11:47I thought they were exceptional
00:11:49in terms of how they set up
00:11:51and I just want to look at it
00:11:53because Spurs have been playing a bit lower
00:11:56but against Villa today
00:11:58they were brave
00:11:59and Rich Allison really did his work for his team
00:12:03but the good thing is about this
00:12:05when you press high like this
00:12:06obviously you've got to block the lines
00:12:08exactly what they did
00:12:09and then they're going man to man
00:12:10but the key part is Barkley in the centre of the pitch
00:12:13your defender has to be brave and jump
00:12:16and that's exactly what Danso did
00:12:18and then Rich Allison gets an opportunity
00:12:21which he should have passed
00:12:22again
00:12:22Kolomane
00:12:23Conor Gallagher
00:12:24Benton Kern
00:12:25Rich Allison
00:12:25blocking the middle of the pitch
00:12:28because you know Villa like to occupy
00:12:30the middle of the pitch
00:12:32and they didn't allow them to play
00:12:34in that middle
00:12:36and then get the ball wide
00:12:37and that's because they were aggressive
00:12:39on the press
00:12:40and they were brave in doing that
00:12:42and the defenders have to buy into it
00:12:44Rich Allison
00:12:45I mentioned again
00:12:46Kolomane
00:12:47really good in occupying the defenders
00:12:51force it in one way
00:12:52and then everyone can jump on
00:12:54this time it's Van der Ven
00:12:55on Barkley
00:12:56and it made it so difficult for Villa
00:12:58to play
00:12:59and they didn't know what to do
00:13:01and then when they got the ball
00:13:02there was composed on the ball
00:13:03but this
00:13:04was the best clip for me
00:13:06although nothing came for it
00:13:08in terms of what they did here
00:13:09and scoring
00:13:10but what it did do
00:13:11it forced a throw in
00:13:14and from the result in throwing
00:13:16Danzo with his long throw
00:13:17and this is Conor Gallagher
00:13:19we've talked about
00:13:19he talked about his finish
00:13:20look at that for a touch
00:13:22and look at that for a finish
00:13:25absolutely brilliant
00:13:26and that was all
00:13:27in the first 12 minutes
00:13:29they started bright
00:13:30they was confident
00:13:31they had a game plan
00:13:32they stuck to the tactics
00:13:33and I just thought
00:13:34they were outstanding today
00:13:36I really did
00:13:37so they started with that intensity
00:13:39and their intent was obvious as well
00:13:41in the number of second balls
00:13:42they won Alan
00:13:43they won every single tackle
00:13:44they won every single second ball
00:13:46and what they also did is
00:13:48they took the risk out of their game
00:13:50in terms of not playing from the back
00:13:52in unnecessary circumstances
00:13:54and they did that
00:13:55and when I said they won every second ball
00:13:57that's what I mean
00:13:58they might not have won that first header
00:13:59but what they did really well is
00:14:01is engage and make sure they won
00:14:03the tackle after that
00:14:04and then look at that
00:14:05look at that commitment
00:14:06that is what you need
00:14:08when you're in desperate trouble
00:14:10you need every single player at it
00:14:13and Spurs were today
00:14:14that's what I mean
00:14:15about taking the Villa press out
00:14:17so they go long
00:14:18then they commit men forward
00:14:20and that's what they did
00:14:21and now they outnumber Aston Villa
00:14:22in forward positions
00:14:23because of that long ball
00:14:25because Villa wanted to press them
00:14:27and at times they couldn't
00:14:27because they missed the press out
00:14:29really unlucky
00:14:30but they get into that position
00:14:32because the same thing again
00:14:34he's got options
00:14:35Kinski can pass it left or right
00:14:37but the same thing again
00:14:39ball in behind
00:14:39they don't win the first one
00:14:41but look where the ball falls to
00:14:42because they're that brave
00:14:44and they're committing that many men
00:14:46forward into forward positions
00:14:48then getting the ball into the box
00:14:49when they do win it
00:14:50and they've also got three in the box as well
00:14:52they create another opportunity
00:14:54but for a good save from Martinez
00:14:56second half
00:14:57same thing
00:14:57look
00:14:57missed the press out again
00:14:59they go long
00:14:59they don't win the first header
00:15:01but they win that second ball
00:15:03that was a constant
00:15:04right throughout the game
00:15:05and that gave them
00:15:06the platform
00:15:07to go and play
00:15:08and to create chances
00:15:09and again
00:15:10look how many men
00:15:11they've got in forward positions
00:15:13they were brave
00:15:14they were aggressive
00:15:15and they were absolutely outstanding
00:15:17and deserved to win that game
00:15:18but the difference is
00:15:20sorry
00:15:20on that is
00:15:21when you go forward
00:15:22like that
00:15:23if there's any
00:15:24any ball
00:15:25you win it high up the pitch
00:15:27when Spurs were winning the ball
00:15:29a little bit further back
00:15:31they couldn't really get out
00:15:32so if you look at the clips
00:15:33that Alan showed there
00:15:34even if they lose it
00:15:35they can get the second
00:15:36if not the second
00:15:37they can get the third
00:15:37and that's because
00:15:38the defence in midfield
00:15:39and the forwards
00:15:40were all being brave
00:15:41with their press
00:15:42and they were helped
00:15:43in their performance
00:15:44by the fact that
00:15:45Villa looked like
00:15:46they were lacking energy
00:15:47and they looked like a team
00:15:48that had made seven changes
00:15:50which is what Unai Emery did
00:15:51they also looked like a team
00:15:53who have a Europa League semi-final
00:15:55that they're 1-0 down in
00:15:57to come on Thursday
00:15:58and they looked like a team
00:15:59who are fairly comfortably
00:16:01in fifth place
00:16:02and a Champions League
00:16:03qualification spot
00:16:04yeah although
00:16:05some people might criticise
00:16:07I think the Villa fans there
00:16:08was a few boos at half time
00:16:10in terms of the effort
00:16:12the players that he put out today
00:16:13were more than capable
00:16:14of performing better
00:16:15than they did today
00:16:16but if you look at the bigger picture
00:16:18in terms of the Champions League position
00:16:20and then the semi-final
00:16:21Europa League
00:16:22they're doing a great job
00:16:23you're going to get those
00:16:25sort of performances sometimes
00:16:26and it was just one of those today
00:16:27they're in the semi-final
00:16:28they've got it all to do
00:16:29in the return leg
00:16:30they're in fifth as you said
00:16:31they've got six points gap
00:16:34if Unai Emery gets that team
00:16:36into the Champions League
00:16:37for next season
00:16:38they've got two chances
00:16:39of doing that in the league
00:16:39and by winning the Europa League
00:16:41he's entitled to change that team around
00:16:43and do whatever he wants to do
00:16:44he's not worried about
00:16:45whatever the opposition
00:16:46or whoever thinks that's
00:16:47sport and integrity
00:16:48or whatever it is
00:16:49it's his team
00:16:50he can do what he wants
00:16:51he's earned the right to do that
00:16:52what about the relegation battle
00:16:54what does this do to that
00:16:55because we thought
00:16:56it might be a straight shootout
00:16:58between Tottenham and West Ham
00:17:00the thing is
00:17:01now Tottenham are only two points
00:17:03behind Nottingham Forest
00:17:04they play Chelsea tomorrow
00:17:06at Chelsea
00:17:07so who knows what the gap could be
00:17:09come the end of the day
00:17:10and now maybe three teams
00:17:12in the running
00:17:14to get relegated
00:17:15at the end of the season
00:17:15it's been a terrible weekend
00:17:16for West Ham hasn't it
00:17:17with the result for them yesterday
00:17:20and the result that went
00:17:21against them to do
00:17:22with Spurs
00:17:23so they have got it all to do
00:17:25and looking at their fixtures as well
00:17:27I think that game
00:17:28against Leeds United
00:17:29possibly their best chance
00:17:30of getting three points
00:17:31you can't predict
00:17:32every time we make a prediction
00:17:34we get it wrong don't we
00:17:35but from those fixtures
00:17:37I think West Ham
00:17:38have got it all to do
00:17:39I think Spurs now
00:17:41have got that little bit
00:17:41of momentum
00:17:42even though the players
00:17:43have found a different way
00:17:45to be playing
00:17:46mainly Spurs fought
00:17:47with the technical players
00:17:49they could go a different way
00:17:50but with the intensity
00:17:52they showed today
00:17:52they can win the games
00:17:53that's their standard now
00:17:54they've set the line there
00:17:56they cannot fall
00:17:57below that line now
00:17:58in terms of energy
00:18:00and if they keep that level up
00:18:02could be safe
00:18:03coming out of the season
00:18:03they could keep that up
00:18:04yeah
00:18:04but I think De Zerbe
00:18:06needs a lot of credit
00:18:07for the way he set his team
00:18:10it's one of those situations
00:18:11where you're in a relegation battle
00:18:13and you've got players who hide
00:18:15none of those players hide
00:18:17hid out there tonight
00:18:18and I think the fact
00:18:19that he's giving them
00:18:20the confidence
00:18:21I think that is the difference
00:18:22is there an element
00:18:23of frustration around Spurs
00:18:24though that they haven't
00:18:25done this so far this season
00:18:27I know they've had
00:18:27some of those players
00:18:28missing at different points
00:18:29but that they are capable
00:18:31of this
00:18:32but they haven't shown it
00:18:33it's actually trying to
00:18:34draw it out of them
00:18:35and at the minute
00:18:36they win last week
00:18:37they win again today
00:18:38so it looks as if
00:18:40the players are responding
00:18:41to what he's doing in training
00:18:42and what he's giving them
00:18:43the feedback
00:18:43might yet be a good end
00:18:44to the season for Tottenham
00:18:45now it's time for April's
00:18:47goal of the month
00:18:47here are the contenders
00:18:50my love that

00:32:14Stakes are part of football and I think it shows the group and the character to come back from that
00:32:19and bounce back
00:32:19and if anything to win with a late winner gives you a great feeling and to see the stadium light
00:32:25up like it did is very special
00:32:26I think we controlled
00:32:28I think we controlled the game maybe the whole game but mainly the second half and in the first half
00:32:32when we controlled it we were not a threat at all offensively but in the second half we combined controlling
00:32:39the game also being a threat but one moment of switching off is usually for us conceding a goal
00:32:47I think it's one of the last one
00:32:47Champions League of course it's important let's not over celebrate it because we want more than that but nevertheless to
00:32:52do it with so many games to spare from the position that we're in I think there's a lot of
00:32:58people and a lot of players need a lot of credit for that
00:32:59It's never an easy game against them you know there's always lots of ups and downs and just glad to
00:33:04come out with a win
00:33:04It's nice to be back among the goals and haven't scored in a while and an amazing fixture to do
00:33:09it in
00:33:09I think Kobe's taken another step forward in the last couple of weeks especially.
00:33:13I think his performance and his level of performance has been top
00:33:16and there's still a bit to come from him but at the moment
00:33:20with the level that he's playing at, he can be really pleased with himself.
00:33:23Now before we talk about the game, there was news this afternoon
00:33:26that Sir Alex Ferguson was taken to hospital after falling unwell
00:33:29shortly before the game at Old Trafford.
00:33:31We have been told it was a precautionary move and not an emergency situation
00:33:36and of course everyone here at Match of the Day sends our very best wishes
00:33:40and he would have enjoyed Manchester United's first league double over Liverpool in a decade.
00:33:46They've qualified for Champions League football next season
00:33:48which as Michael Carrick says is not something they want to over-celebrate
00:33:52but is crucial to the club moving forward financially as much as anything else
00:33:56and also it was Kobi Meynu who did it and what a journey he's been on, Micah.
00:34:02He's been, as a player, he's been outstanding
00:34:07but today I thought he was exceptional
00:34:10not just because of the stuff that I'm going to talk about here, the defensive
00:34:16it's football intelligence, game intelligence, football IQ, all those things
00:34:22understanding the positions you need to be in when you're in this position here
00:34:27obviously helped by Casemiro and Kobi Meynu has always been a player that we've liked
00:34:34and we've talked about for so long but we didn't know what, was he at eight, was he a six,
00:34:39was he a ten
00:34:40I think he's found his position now and he feels at home
00:34:44and when I talk about the football intelligence this is what I'm talking about
00:34:47he keeps his game very safe when he needs to and then arrives late when he needs to
00:34:53also, he sees a space in front of him and then taking the risk and then can you finish
00:34:59and the finish was brilliant and I've been in that situation when you're a young boy
00:35:05and everyone's talking about you and it's very difficult to keep that level of consistency
00:35:11but his consistency, we've just got some stats here to show you how good he was in that game
00:35:16in terms of his passes, possession won, distance covered but the goal he scored and it was a big goal
00:35:21against Liverpool
00:35:23but just the psychological sort of place that he's in, when everyone's telling how good you are at 21 or
00:35:2920 before
00:35:30he's played for England and he's played in big games and you're left out by the manager
00:35:34how do you deal with that and he's dealt with it spot on, his attitude's been brilliant
00:35:39he could have lost his confidence but he didn't lose confidence and he puts in a performance like that
00:35:44so it wasn't more about analysing his game and what he did, it's more about how he was taking on
00:35:49information
00:35:50and could he perform in his head because he's had a manager who didn't fancy him
00:35:55and Carrick has put his arm round him and these are the performances that you're getting from him
00:35:59week in, week out and I just love to see him
00:36:01and tied him into that long-term contract at Manchester United as well
00:36:05I could do with one of those
00:36:20I don't think it's a surprise to anyone this season that if there is a VR intervention or if there
00:36:26is something that you could look at or could be left, could be right
00:36:29then that decision goes against us, that has been the whole season, every single time the same
00:36:35this is a complete pattern over the whole season
00:36:38but there's also a pattern that we concede ridiculous goals when we are the better team
00:36:42that one or two switching off and then we concede a goal
00:36:45and that is more, that we have more influence on
00:36:48so I should focus much more on that
00:36:49than on these referees' decisions that go against us
00:36:52but it's clear that it's the whole season the same
00:36:56and we will have a look at the way that Liverpool played in this game in just a moment
00:37:00but we just want to clear up the Szczesko goal
00:37:02and was it handball, was it not handball, what did you think Alan?
00:37:06Well I thought it was handball, yeah
00:37:07and I think, I mean I don't want to see these goals disallowed, right
00:37:11I think that the handball laws are completely nonsense anyway
00:37:14and this laws as well
00:37:16but in terms of consistency and applying the law correctly
00:37:21I think me and Micah agreed straight away that we both said that's hit his hand
00:37:25you can see the motion of the ball move
00:37:26Correct
00:37:27because it hits his left hand there
00:37:29it's only a slight touch, I get that
00:37:31and as I said, I don't want to see them disallowed
00:37:32but when they're applying the law and that's what they say
00:37:35if it hits any part of your hand and neither goal scorer
00:37:37it should be disallowed
00:37:39and that should have been disallowed
00:37:40They say that that was inconclusive, the footage
00:37:43But it's there for us, for all
00:37:45See?
00:37:47The motion of the ball changed, didn't it?
00:37:50And that's what you need to look at
00:37:52Like Alan said, we don't want to see goals given away for this
00:37:55when we're talking about fingernails or whatever
00:37:56but the law is, if it comes off your hand
00:37:59which it clearly did
00:38:00in our view
00:38:02the goals shouldn't have been given
00:38:03It's as simple as that
00:38:06But isn't it?
00:38:06I mean, we're at this stage
00:38:08and this is where we're at now
00:38:10this is where they've got us
00:38:12We're actually debating whether it's flicked onto his finger
00:38:16Oh, we'd have talked about this before as well
00:38:19That's the state the game is in now
00:38:21We always find this stuff to talk about
00:38:23But look, in terms of the way that Liverpool played
00:38:27Arna Slott said very honestly
00:38:29that decision is not what cost Liverpool the game
00:38:32the bits that they can control
00:38:34they didn't get right
00:38:35particularly in the first half, Alan
00:38:36Yeah, well, their defending I thought
00:38:38was all over the place again
00:38:39and for large parts of this season
00:38:41that's why they're in the position they are
00:38:44and having the season they are
00:38:45I mean, I think that's quite a simple header
00:38:47from Andy Robertson
00:38:49should be doing a lot better
00:38:50That's the goal they concede
00:38:53But they're actually all over the place
00:38:54even when they give the ball away here
00:38:56Van Dijk gets caught in no man's land
00:38:58he's not sure where it's going tight
00:39:00and all of a sudden
00:39:01he doesn't want to run in behind
00:39:02and stay with Fernandes
00:39:03lets him run there
00:39:05and again, I mean, that's a very, very good ball in
00:39:09but they have so much space
00:39:11Then Canadi has a look behind him
00:39:13then Robertson has a look behind himself
00:39:16and he can see Bruno Fernandes
00:39:17and eventually when the ball goes in
00:39:20now Bruno Fernandes is a fantastic player
00:39:22but I don't think he should be winning that ball
00:39:23at the far post against Andy Robertson
00:39:26against the quality of the defender that he is
00:39:28Again, look at the space he's got to run into there
00:39:33The ball eventually comes out on the right-hand side
00:39:36but Fernandes in the middle should do better
00:39:39He's got incredible amounts of space
00:39:42And also the concern is here, couldn't you?
00:39:45How on earth can he have so much time
00:39:47to take a touch and turn
00:39:49take another touch
00:39:50and then, I mean, Canadi just gets it so wrong
00:39:54I mean, goodness me
00:39:55that just sort of summed Liverpool up
00:39:58and the season that they're having
00:40:00and Van Dijk decides to go in
00:40:02and close down on his own
00:40:03nowhere near him
00:40:04no one near him at all
00:40:06but have a look at the back line here
00:40:07when the ball eventually comes in
00:40:09how far Kirkes is behind
00:40:10I mean, look at that line there
00:40:14Yeah, it really is remarkable
00:40:16I mean, to be fair to him
00:40:17he does get across
00:40:18and he does get the ball eventually
00:40:20but again, it's comical defending
00:40:24Kirkes comes on for Robertson
00:40:25he again has a look at Ahmed
00:40:27he can see him
00:40:28smallest man on the pitch
00:40:29chips it in
00:40:30and he heads it this time at the far post
00:40:32then McAllister gets his clearance all wrong
00:40:35it's a very, very clever finish
00:40:37but Liverpool defensively
00:40:39goodness me
00:40:40so many errors
00:40:42and they've been punished for it all season
00:40:44as they were today
00:40:44What about Manchester United
00:40:46in their immediate future?
00:40:48Is Michael Carrick the man to take them forward?
00:40:51We've asked this question
00:40:52so many times since he took over
00:40:54what we can see
00:40:55and what the facts behind this are
00:40:57is that if the table started
00:40:59when Michael Carrick took over
00:41:00Manchester United would be top
00:41:02and clear top
00:41:03five points ahead of Arsenal
00:41:05they've qualified for Champions League football
00:41:08they've signed Kobaymenu up
00:41:09to a long-term deal
00:41:11and presumably increased any value
00:41:12that they would get
00:41:13if they were to sell him on
00:41:15I know there's an emotional pull
00:41:16but is there a sensible business decision
00:41:19to be made here as well?
00:41:20Well, it brought him to do a specific job
00:41:21and he's done that job very, very well
00:41:23and in those games you showed
00:41:24he's won in big games as well
00:41:26he's beaten City
00:41:27beaten Arsenal
00:41:27beaten Liverpool
00:41:29so for me, yes
00:41:30he at least deserves the chance
00:41:32to go again
00:41:33I don't know
00:41:34maybe a one-year contract
00:41:35with different incentives
00:41:36if he hits different targets
00:41:38but he was brought in to do a job
00:41:41and he's done that job
00:41:42Who else would they bring in
00:41:43if not Michael Carrick?
00:41:45I mean
00:41:46people keep asking that question
00:41:48I think you need to
00:41:49be careful what you wish for
00:41:50they've got a good manager there
00:41:52he knows what he's doing
00:41:53he knows the club
00:41:54and he's getting results
00:41:55what more do you want?
00:41:58Now, Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth
00:42:00are unbeaten in 14 Premier League games
00:42:03it's the longest run in the division
00:42:04and they're pushing for Europe
00:42:06they faced Crystal Palace
00:42:07at the Vitality Stadium
00:42:08and Jonathan Pearce was there
00:42:1217 years ago this weekend
00:42:14Bournemouth overcame a minus 17 point deficit
00:42:18imposed for financial irregularities
00:42:20to stay in the Football League
00:42:21on the last day
00:42:22a win today would take them
00:42:24to the brink of Europe
00:42:25a draw for Palace on Thursday
00:42:27will be enough to take them
00:42:28to the Conference League final
00:42:30two Bournemouth changes
00:42:31from the draw with Leeds
00:42:32Ryan replaces Brooks

00:43:07from near oblivion
00:43:08to Europe
00:43:09in a generation
00:43:10that would be some story
00:43:13and now Jimenez
00:43:15and that's out for a corner kick
00:43:16I think she today would take them
00:43:22above Brentford
00:43:22into 6th
00:43:23above Brighton
00:43:24he dropped down to 8th
00:43:26after that defeat at Newcastle

00:43:42that hit
00:43:44Chaddy Riyad
00:43:44and over it goes
00:43:46with a deflection
00:43:48Ryan with the shot
00:43:50he was tumbling
00:43:51as he had the shot
00:43:52the teenager from Rio
00:43:56want to get it
00:43:57go
00:43:57it's off the line
00:43:58keepers kept it out
00:44:00he hasn't you know
00:44:00it's a goal
00:44:03Bournemouth lead
00:44:05I wonder who will be credited
00:44:07with it
00:44:10Evan Nielsen wants the goal
00:44:12but did the defender
00:44:13on the post
00:44:14in trying to
00:44:14hook it out
00:44:16actually
00:44:16hook it
00:44:17over his own goal line
00:44:20Evan Nielsen
00:44:20with the header
00:44:22that has to be
00:44:23an own goal
00:44:24Jefferson Lerma
00:44:25not too sure
00:44:26what he thought
00:44:26he was doing
00:44:27with the header
00:44:27in that position
00:44:28trying to head it back
00:44:29to his goalkeeper
00:44:30in a tight spot
00:44:33Henderson
00:44:33couldn't keep it out
00:44:34early lead for Bournemouth
00:44:37and having made
00:44:37the five changes
00:44:38this could get messy
00:44:39for Crystal Palace
00:44:40today
00:44:44Kamada
00:44:45called in two mines
00:44:46Scott pushes it through
00:44:48Evan Nielsen
00:44:52Bournemouth
00:44:53mines very much set
00:44:54on Europe
00:44:56Crystal Palace mines
00:44:57not really here today
00:44:59Evan Nielsen
00:45:00slightly leaning off it
00:45:03Riola
00:45:04with just the three games
00:45:05left after this
00:45:06Fulham away
00:45:06Manchester City at home
00:45:08then Forrest on the last day
00:45:11Tavernier
00:45:14Bournemouth
00:45:15playing with their usual
00:45:16intensity
00:45:18Scott
00:45:18lovely ball away
00:45:19to Jimenez
00:45:20first time
00:45:21cross in
00:45:22would have been glorious
00:45:23and it was over
00:45:24by Ryan
00:45:26lovely move
00:45:27swept out
00:45:28to the fullback
00:45:29early cross
00:45:30couldn't get over it
00:45:36here come Bournemouth
00:45:37again
00:45:38sweeping into the
00:45:39open space
00:45:40Tavernier
00:45:41Tavernier
00:45:42Henderson
00:45:43beats it out
00:45:45could and should have
00:45:46been two there
00:45:47Truffert
00:45:48sees Ghosts
00:45:49in the middle
00:45:51they've been
00:45:51such the dominant team
00:45:53that was a chance
00:45:55to make it two
00:45:55they didn't take it
00:45:57and football is such a
00:45:58strange old beast
00:45:59you wonder if the game
00:46:01could spin on that
00:46:03it's been half an hour
00:46:05of mishaps
00:46:06for the Conference League
00:46:07semi-finalists
00:46:10long throw by James Hill
00:46:14Henderson comes
00:46:15good catch
00:46:16oh he's dropped it
00:46:16as he bashed into his own
00:46:17player
00:46:18he's crashed into a
00:46:19Bournemouth player
00:46:20and the penalty is given
00:46:23he came caught
00:46:24comfortably
00:46:25then bashed into his
00:46:26own player
00:46:27dropped the ball
00:46:28and his momentum
00:46:30took him on
00:46:31Sinesi felt the touch
00:46:32and went down
00:46:34and there's barely a touch
00:46:36barely a touch
00:46:37but Sinesi
00:46:39sensed it
00:46:40and goes down
00:46:41belatedly
00:46:42and theatrically
00:46:43and surely
00:46:45this will
00:46:46be VAR checked
00:46:48somewhere
00:46:49back in the
00:46:50long distant
00:46:51pass
00:46:52I'm sure
00:46:53the
00:46:54laws of association
00:46:55football
00:46:56said something like
00:46:57it's a contact sport
00:46:59has been VAR checked
00:47:01and it is a penalty
00:47:03dear oh dear
00:47:05game's gone
00:47:08crew beat
00:47:13puts the keeper
00:47:14the wrong way
00:47:152-0 Bournemouth
00:47:20it's a deserved
00:47:212-0 lead
00:47:26from the joy of
00:47:27Thursday night
00:47:28to the despair
00:47:30and I would imagine
00:47:31fury of a Sunday
00:47:32afternoon
00:47:33good penalty
00:47:37four goals and five
00:47:39for him now
00:47:43I think given that
00:47:44Crystal Palace were
00:47:45between games against
00:47:46Shakhtar
00:47:46a Bournemouth victory
00:47:48today would not have
00:47:49been a surprise
00:47:50but the comparative
00:47:51the easiness of it
00:47:52is a surprise
00:47:56true fair
00:47:58across the far post
00:47:59Ryan
00:48:06allowed to get to the
00:48:07byline
00:48:07couldn't get over it
00:48:15on by Mitchell
00:48:16on by Mitchell
00:48:19rooks for Bournemouth
00:48:22in behind here
00:48:24chance for
00:48:24and that's game over
00:48:30Crystal Palace
00:48:31have brought all their
00:48:31big guns on for the
00:48:32second half
00:48:33to no avail
00:48:37lovely finish
00:48:39balls in back-to-back
00:48:40games for the
00:48:41Brazilian teenager
00:48:45Brooks lovely ball and
00:48:46they've tried that pass
00:48:47so many times today
00:48:49the pass put Lacroix out of the gate
00:48:52but this is a super finish
00:48:54across the goalkeeper
00:48:55tucked it away
00:48:58looking on very satisfied
00:49:01indeed the first team technical director
00:49:04Simon Francis
00:49:05what a wonderful servant he was to this club
00:49:13Wharton
00:49:13oh nice little drop of the shoulder
00:49:15in comes a chip
00:49:17looking for Sarr
00:49:18hits the post
00:49:19that sort of day for Palace
00:49:20Mitchell back to the far post area
00:49:22and it's cleared away
00:49:23I think Sarr might have been offside anyway
00:49:26but
00:49:26it sort of sums up their fortune tonight
00:49:29I don't think it would have counted
00:49:31maybe it would have been tight
00:49:33slam the ball against the post
00:49:36they're singing about going to Leipzig
00:49:39they're on their way
00:49:40they're on their way
00:49:41and he had a European trophy
00:49:43to the two he picked up domestically
00:49:45in 2025
00:49:53Di Veni
00:49:54when it comes to Sarr
00:49:55across goal
00:49:59what would the situation have been today
00:50:01had Crystal Palace named
00:50:03their strongest team from the start
00:50:07Crystal Palace fans
00:50:08might have been singing about
00:50:09on their way
00:50:10on their way to Leipzig
00:50:11in the conference final
00:50:13are Bournemouth on their way
00:50:15to a European place themselves
00:50:17on the pitch
00:50:18it's been all about them today
00:50:19winning by three goals
00:50:21Sunil helped out by a dodgy penalty decision
00:50:23but they were really
00:50:24really well worth the win
00:50:26Bournemouth super
00:50:27a much changed
00:50:28Crystal Palace side
00:50:29well below par
00:50:30Bournemouth three
00:50:31Crystal Palace nil
00:50:32I think it wasn't
00:50:34physically
00:50:34it was more psychology
00:50:35the problem today
00:50:37you know
00:50:37it's
00:50:37you need to have
00:50:39quick solutions against you
00:50:40you need to move
00:50:41quick
00:50:42everything has to be quick
00:50:43and if you're slow
00:50:44in your head
00:50:45the legs are slow
00:50:45so we all know this
00:50:46and that's why
00:50:48it was more like this
00:50:49after this huge evening
00:50:52we just couldn't recover
00:50:54mentally
00:50:54quick enough
00:50:55we don't talk about
00:50:56this game anymore
00:50:57it's not really
00:50:57two days for the players
00:50:59to recover
00:50:59don't think about football
00:51:01and on Wednesday
00:51:02we will start
00:51:03with the team
00:51:04to prepare
00:51:05for the second leg
00:51:06because
00:51:07going to a European final
00:51:08would be maybe
00:51:09the biggest game
00:51:10in Crystal Palace history
00:51:11a lot to the fans today
00:51:13the fans were taught
00:51:14when we needed it most
00:51:15to keep going
00:51:16but also the clean sheet
00:51:17as well
00:51:17it's a good mentality
00:51:19going forward
00:51:19they are coming from playing
00:51:21Thursday night
00:51:22away
00:51:22another away game
00:51:24and probably
00:51:25it's not the game
00:51:25they wanted
00:51:27with intensity
00:51:28since the beginning
00:51:30and I suppose
00:51:31it has been really
00:51:31difficult for them
00:51:32I think the players
00:51:33have shown that
00:51:35they are determined
00:51:36to fight until
00:51:37the last game
00:51:37I think to be in
00:51:38I think 15 games
00:51:39and beat and run
00:51:40is incredible
00:51:41and I hope we can finish
00:51:42it
00:51:42it's three more games
00:51:43three difficult games
00:51:44but I think everyone
00:51:45is not
00:51:47I don't think
00:51:48we are feeling the pressure
00:51:49we are enjoying
00:51:51even if we know
00:51:52the results are important
00:51:53I see my team
00:51:54enjoying against Liszt
00:51:55the other day
00:51:55I think we played really well
00:51:56today the same
00:51:57the two away games
00:51:59let's keep this level
00:52:01and we don't know
00:52:02if it's going to arrive
00:52:03and we obviously
00:52:04want to get it
00:52:05but I wouldn't like
00:52:06to change our mentality
00:52:07or our approach
00:52:08because we see it closer
00:52:11So Bournemouth
00:52:12much the better team
00:52:12against a Crystal Palisade
00:52:14who for all the reasons
00:52:14that everybody's mentioned
00:52:15were not at their best today
00:52:17and Alan
00:52:18despite the fact
00:52:18that you have a fond regard
00:52:20for Premier League referees
00:52:22you might find yourself
00:52:23mildly critical
00:52:24of the penalty
00:52:25that allowed them
00:52:25to open the scoring
00:52:26Yeah I didn't agree with it
00:52:27at all to be honest
00:52:29I thought it was
00:52:30very very kind
00:52:32I mean
00:52:33he takes two steps
00:52:35after the year
00:52:35if there is contact
00:52:37what I have to stress is
00:52:38not every contact
00:52:40is a foul
00:52:40and I also think
00:52:42if you're going to give it
00:52:43for minimal contact
00:52:45like that
00:52:45then it encourages diving
00:52:48that's the issue
00:52:49and the referee's got
00:52:50a really good view of it
00:52:52I mean
00:52:53there is tiny
00:52:54tiny
00:52:54but certainly
00:52:55not enough
00:52:56to go down
00:52:56he takes two steps
00:52:57after
00:52:58and then sort of
00:52:58twists his body
00:52:59Sanessi
00:53:00so no
00:53:01not for me
00:53:01So because the on-field
00:53:03referee
00:53:03has seen the incident
00:53:05has seen the contact
00:53:06and decides that
00:53:07that's enough
00:53:08to award a penalty
00:53:08that's why
00:53:10there was no intervention
00:53:11from VAR
00:53:12no going over
00:53:12to look at the screen
00:53:13Micah
00:53:14there was contact
00:53:15wasn't there
00:53:16but it was
00:53:17his fiat tricks
00:53:18after that
00:53:18he rolled
00:53:19two seconds later
00:53:21if he'd have gone down
00:53:22straight away
00:53:22he was like
00:53:22hold up
00:53:23no problem
00:53:23but that's not a penalty
00:53:25it's soft
00:53:26I agree with Alan
00:53:27not every contact
00:53:28is a penalty
00:53:29Shall we talk about
00:53:30something more positive
00:53:31Yes
00:53:31and that's Alex Scott
00:53:32Oh I love him
00:53:33I absolutely love him
00:53:34and he's my wild card
00:53:35for the World Cup
00:53:36I tried to tell Alan
00:53:38a year ago
00:53:39about Anderson
00:53:39and I'm telling him
00:53:40about Alex Scott
00:53:41now
00:53:41I mean
00:53:42set pieces are so big
00:53:43in today's game
00:53:44he takes a good
00:53:45set piece
00:53:46I don't know what Lerma's
00:53:46doing there
00:53:47just misjudges it
00:53:48but it's this calmness
00:53:50on the ball
00:53:51when he gets on the ball
00:53:52and then
00:53:52can you see a pass
00:53:54outside of the foot
00:53:55Evan Anderson should do
00:53:56a lot better
00:53:57but this is the best one for me
00:53:58can you receive the ball
00:53:59in between the lines
00:54:01a lot of midfielders
00:54:02hide and don't want the ball
00:54:04and yes
00:54:04he might only play it
00:54:05to the side
00:54:06but he's being brave
00:54:07on the ball
00:54:08and then
00:54:09keeping the ball
00:54:10moving
00:54:11I just
00:54:11every time I watch him
00:54:13he's so comfortable
00:54:14on the ball
00:54:15you know
00:54:16he's got that little
00:54:17technique and touch
00:54:19and
00:54:20he's got everything
00:54:21that a midfielder
00:54:22should have
00:54:23playing in the Premier League
00:54:25and look at that
00:54:25for the light
00:54:26lightful little touch
00:54:27there to him now
00:54:28and
00:54:28you know
00:54:2967 touches
00:54:30and every time I watch him
00:54:32I just love his game
00:54:33I think he's really
00:54:34that good
00:54:35and long may it continue
00:54:36he's having a brilliant
00:54:37brilliant season
00:54:38he's standing out
00:54:39in almost every game
00:54:40he's superb
00:54:40and one thing
00:54:42that these two teams
00:54:43have in common
00:54:43is that
00:54:44their managerial situation
00:54:46is in flux
00:54:47at the moment
00:54:49Andoni Iriola
00:54:49will be leaving
00:54:50Oliver Glasner
00:54:51will be leaving
00:54:51and what's quite interesting
00:54:53about the two of them
00:54:54is that they have
00:54:55an identical record
00:54:57in charge
00:54:58pretty much
00:54:58they've got the same
00:54:59number of points
00:55:00per game
00:55:00that's an Iriola
00:55:01who's played 111
00:55:03140 of them
00:55:04so it's 1.41 points
00:55:05per game
00:55:06and is ninth
00:55:07in the points ranking
00:55:08since he took charge
00:55:10and Oliver Glasner
00:55:12finds himself
00:55:13in exactly
00:55:14the same position
00:55:15different number
00:55:15of games
00:55:16obviously
00:55:16but with that
00:55:17same record
00:55:18of 1.41 points
00:55:19per game
00:55:19and ninth
00:55:20in the points ranking
00:55:22and yet
00:55:24and yet
00:55:24we're not going to
00:55:25see them next season
00:55:26And they've both
00:55:26got an incredible
00:55:27chance to go out
00:55:28on a high
00:55:29I mean there is
00:55:29possible Bournemouth
00:55:30could qualify
00:55:31for Champions League
00:55:32it is very possible
00:55:33If Aston Villa
00:55:33finish fifth
00:55:34and win the Europa League
00:55:35that sixth place
00:55:35will be in Champions League
00:55:36Crystal Palace
00:55:37have got a chance
00:55:37of winning
00:55:38winning a trophy
00:55:39so
00:55:39and they can go out
00:55:40on incredible highs
00:55:41and they've both
00:55:43done brilliant jobs
00:55:44and clearly
00:55:44very very talented managers
00:55:45I'm going to see
00:55:47Iriola going
00:55:47because what he's brought
00:55:49to this Bournemouth side
00:55:50in terms of
00:55:50the press
00:55:51the recruitment's
00:55:52been really brilliant
00:55:53and the way
00:55:53they play football
00:55:54so to have that
00:55:56potentially go into
00:55:56the Champions League
00:55:57and leaving
00:55:58and not being a manager
00:55:59to take them
00:55:59at potential
00:56:00You don't know
00:56:01he's going to be
00:56:01leaving the Premier League

00:57:58in this game
00:58:01Burn
00:58:02for Wisser
00:58:05Oh it's short
00:58:06from Van Ecke
00:58:07and Wisser
00:58:08with another chance
00:58:09to wrap it up
00:58:10it'll come
00:58:11for Barnes
00:58:12Barnes
00:58:13takes his time
00:58:14and rifles it home
00:58:19Granit Xhaka
00:58:20will deliver this
00:58:22there's a lot of pace
00:58:23on that
00:58:23and it's in
00:58:25and it's in
00:58:25Mukherjee's header
00:58:26Sunderland in front
00:58:28Hugo Bueno
00:58:29is going to take
00:58:30this corner kick
00:58:32and it's in
00:58:36Santiago Bueno
00:58:37with the header
00:58:37at the back post
00:58:41Lewis Potter's ball in
00:58:43isn't a bad one
00:58:43and Coyote's there
00:58:45and it's in
00:58:46and Brentford have scored
00:58:52and it's in
00:58:54and it's a penalty
00:58:59and it's 2-0 to Brentford
00:59:01and it's 2-0 to Brentford
00:59:12Saka
00:59:12Saka
00:59:14Saka
00:59:14he's got the space
00:59:15oh he's now got the position
00:59:17brilliant from Saka
00:59:18and a tap in
00:59:19for Jokeres
00:59:23that's a delightful pass
00:59:24for Jokeres
00:59:25a lot to do though
00:59:26he's got to wait
00:59:27for assistance
00:59:27it comes from Saka
00:59:29Saka
00:59:35it's Trossard
00:59:36and Trossard
00:59:37chips it in
00:59:37for Jokeres
00:59:40Arsenal have been
00:59:41outstanding
00:59:42in this first half
00:59:46Michael
00:59:47not only did Arsenal
00:59:47get the win
00:59:48they got three goals
00:59:49which has put them
00:59:50on a four goal
00:59:52better goal difference
00:59:53than Manchester City
00:59:54they've scored
00:59:54one more goal
00:59:55than Manchester City
00:59:56have played
00:59:57two games more
00:59:58but is momentum
00:59:59now back with Arsenal
01:00:00in the title race
01:00:01I think beating Fulham
01:00:02was massive
01:00:05it's very difficult
01:00:06because I always thought
01:00:07Arsenal wasn't
01:00:08creating enough
01:00:08I think bringing
01:00:09Saka back in
01:00:10coming back from injury
01:00:11made a massive difference
01:00:12I think Jokeres
01:00:13his runs in behind
01:00:15allowed them to get up
01:00:16the field a little bit
01:00:17earlier
01:00:17I thought Trossard
01:00:18was good as well
01:00:19so in terms of momentum
01:00:21yes you say
01:00:21Arsenal will
01:00:23go all the way
01:00:24but Man City
01:00:25Man City always
01:00:27they're always there
01:00:28or thereabouts
01:00:29so it's going to be
01:00:29interesting to see
01:00:30towards the end of the season
01:00:31well what is also
01:00:32very interesting
01:00:33is to see what you guys
01:00:34are going to predict
01:00:34having said
01:00:35countless times
01:00:36throughout the show
01:00:36it's a fool's game
01:00:38to predict what's going to happen
01:00:39are you going first
01:00:39or am I going first
01:00:40I think we're going to
01:00:41let Alan go first
01:00:43in this one
01:00:45because Alan's
01:00:45put a little bit
01:00:46of jeopardy
01:00:47into the whole equation
01:00:50so we'll take a look
01:00:50at who everybody's got left
01:00:51and remember also
01:00:53that Manchester City
01:00:55have got games in there
01:00:56Arsenal have got
01:00:57their semi-final
01:00:58still to come
01:00:59in the Champions League
01:01:00second leg of their
01:01:00semi-final to come
01:01:01on Tuesday
01:01:02look at the amount
01:01:03of games though
01:01:03Manchester City
01:01:04have left
01:01:05compared to Arsenal
01:01:05I just think
01:01:06the belief
01:01:07that that will
01:01:08give Arsenal
01:01:09yesterday
01:01:09and the return
01:01:10of Saka
01:01:11and what he gives
01:01:12to that team
01:01:13in terms of
01:01:14balls into the box
01:01:15energy
01:01:15drawing so many
01:01:17players towards him
01:01:18which then might
01:01:18free up
01:01:19one or two others
01:01:20I think going forward
01:01:21that result yesterday
01:01:22was huge for Arsenal
01:01:23and I can see them
01:01:25winning every game
01:01:26when I look at
01:01:27Manchester City
01:01:28they've got the
01:01:29experience
01:01:30some of the players
01:01:30have obviously been there
01:01:32and know what it's about
01:01:33clearly the manager has
01:01:34but I just think that
01:01:35that game at Bournemouth
01:01:36with the form there
01:01:37they might just get
01:01:39a draw there
01:01:39so that's why I'm
01:01:40saying Arsenal
01:01:41Micah
01:01:43both teams are going to
01:01:44win everything
01:01:4785-85
01:01:48so now you've given
01:01:49yourself the more
01:01:49difficult task of
01:01:50trying to predict how
01:01:51many goals they're going
01:01:52to score
01:01:52well I'm thinking of
01:01:532012
01:01:54we did it on goal
01:01:55difference
01:01:55I think Man City
01:01:56will do it on goal
01:01:57difference again
01:01:58you've been saying
01:01:59this for a while
01:01:59I have
01:02:00those 2012 comparisons
01:02:01I think Mika
01:02:02I have
01:02:03maybe
01:02:04just maybe
01:02:05I think it'll be
01:02:05the same this season
01:02:06it's going to be
01:02:07very interesting
01:02:08to see and of course
01:02:08Manchester City
01:02:09have got a couple
01:02:10more games to try
01:02:11and get that goal
01:02:11difference up than
01:02:12Arsenal have between
01:02:13now and the end of
01:02:13the season
01:02:13but Arsenal have
01:02:15the advantage at
01:02:16the moment
01:02:16let's take a closer
01:02:17look then at the
01:02:18Premier League table
01:02:19we've already looked
01:02:19at the very top of it
01:02:20Manchester United's
01:02:22win means that they
01:02:23will be playing in
01:02:23the Champions League
01:02:24next season
01:02:25Bournemouth have moved
01:02:26above Brentford and
01:02:27Brighton in the race
01:02:28for European football
01:02:30Tottenham's second win
01:02:31in a row sees them
01:02:32climb out of the
01:02:33relegation zone with
01:02:34just three games left
01:02:36to play
01:02:36Nottingham Forest
01:02:37two points above them
01:02:39go to Chelsea
01:02:52and the results are in
01:02:54for April's goal of the
01:02:56month Rio and Gamora
01:02:57in third place with
01:02:5817% of the vote
01:03:00with 19% it is
01:03:02Xavi Simons
01:03:03and the winner with
01:03:0522% is Cara Matoma
01:03:14Gross
01:03:15Kadiolu
01:03:16oh what a finish that is
01:03:18it's Cara Matoma
01:03:20with a fantastic goal
01:03:23a blistering volley
01:03:27always worth seeing again
01:03:28thank you very much to
01:03:29Alan and to Micah
01:03:31lovely to have your
01:03:31company this evening
01:03:32as Spurs dealt their
01:03:34relegation rivals
01:03:35a hammer blow
01:03:36goodnight
01:03:37i look forward to it
01:04:00you
