00:00Ha, ha, ha, ha!
00:02Here's some Kenny passion.
00:04Oh, they know they're on TV.
00:05All right, let's get ready to roll.
00:08It's heat two of the 450s here in Denver.
00:10Who gets the jump?
00:11Jordan Smith got a good one on the triumph on the inside.
00:15Massive start.
00:16Oh, Jorge takes him wide, though.
00:18Clip the front wheel of Jordan Smith.
00:21Sexton goes through.
00:22Prado goes through.
00:23Roxen's fighting in there as well.
00:25So, too, with his teammate Colt Nichols.
00:29Prado, Sexton, Cooper Webb.
00:33Remember, going back to what Hayden said,
00:36how hard it is to pass.
00:37And this is where Kenny does a lot of his great work.
00:40He's so fast early on.
00:42Cooper Webb has reverted to jumping through the whoops.
00:45He was off in time qualifying practice,
00:47so it's going to be interesting to see
00:49if he'll be able to turn it around.
00:50I feel like he can.
00:52He is an absolute gamer.
00:54Hey, Chase Sexton looked good today in qualifying practice.
00:57Sure did.
00:57Here comes Kenny.
00:58Roxen on Webb.
01:00Tries to go to the high line.
01:01Couldn't quite get around him.
01:05Fully aware that his title rival just won the previous heat.
01:09Roxen switches back.
01:10Oh, that was a nice corner by Kenny,
01:12but just not able to make that move.
01:14But check out the line that Kenny's going to get through the whoops,
01:17get a good drive.
01:20Kings about a half a bike.
01:22Two-lane sand section.
01:25Pick your inside.
01:25Pick the outside.
01:27Oh, I like how Cooper made that inside line
01:29after the sand section work right there.
01:32Not a lot of guys doing that.
01:33See the difference in jumping and blitzing.
01:35probably about a half a bike length,
01:38a bike length gap that Kenny was able to close up on.
01:41But this is the areas where it's so hard to pass right now.
01:45A lot of the guys taking the same line
01:48through these corners in that 90-degree corner.
01:55Kenny's doing some exploration.
01:56Yeah, he is.
01:57He's looking for some different lines.
01:58Well, yeah, I mean, he's just moving around.
02:00This could be a good opportunity for Ken to learn also.
02:03Just if he doesn't get a great start in that main event,
02:07he'll know where he can make some potential moves if needed.
02:12Through the whoops.
02:13Gain a little bit of time, just a little.
02:15Sexton is sexting, getting ground.
02:17Cooper Webb gets held up in the sand.
02:19Roxen grabs third.
02:20Yeah, looks like he got a little too,
02:22that front end a little too heavy in the sand right there.
02:24It pushed his front end.
02:30Oh, then he messes up the jumping through the whoops,
02:34loses a ton of time.
02:35Now Ken's going to set his sights on the four.
02:38And I like what I've seen from the number four today.
02:41His fastest qualifier in the first qualifying session.
02:49Out in front, the Red Bull KTM of Jorge Prado.
02:53Let's talk more about the Spaniard with Will Christian.
02:56Lee, Ricky, I think Jorge Prado right here is benefiting from his teammate,
03:01Eli Tomac, and his setup on his bike at altitude.
03:05What you have to remember is that Eli Tomac is from Cortez, Colorado.
03:08So where he trains and tests all the time,
03:11he's at altitude, about the same as we're at right now.
03:14So his base setting is the same as it is right now.
03:18Everybody else has kind of got to adjust.
03:20Now they've been able to take those settings and that data and cross it over to Jorge Prado.
03:25So really, the work got done there for him,
03:27and that's what we might see him out in front here, especially on that star, Ricky.
03:32Look at these two on the bottom side right here.
03:37Hey, Ricky, I was just thinking about, you know,
03:39we've spent so much time wondering, okay, is he going to go 1-2, Hunter and Kenny, or 2-1?
03:44But we haven't, I don't think, talked enough about the spoilers.
03:48Who could get in there and change the points math equation for these next two rounds?
03:52Well, Chase Sexton, I think, should be in the conversation.
03:55If you look at this race, Denver, and next weekend in Salt Lake,
03:59he has won both of those rounds two out of the last three years.
04:03That's a pretty big stat, and it showed up earlier in qualifying.
04:07It's the first time he's been bouncing off the top of the board.
04:09He was first in the first qualifying session.
04:11And right now, he's been able to ride away for both Cooper Wett and Ken Rockson in this heat race.
04:17So it could be very interesting if the math changes,
04:19simply because Chase Sexton's back in the story.
04:22Oh, easily, JT.
04:23I mean, listen, you've raced with us, all of us, in tight championship battles.
04:28And, of course, there is no doubt in my mind that Chase Sexton isn't plenty capable of going out here
04:33and putting on an absolute clinic.
04:36Why?
04:36Because of the talent that he has, and, two, all the reasons that you just mentioned as well.
04:41So, absolutely.
04:42Could they be spoilers?
04:43Of course they could, but not necessarily a spoiler.
04:46They could use, you know, one of those riders could use them as to their advantage.
04:52Pardon me.
04:52So, fair without, and that's what I talked about, Cooper Webb as well.
04:56Maybe Justin Cooper, Jorge Prado, for example.
04:59I mean, I'm not ruling any of these guys out.
05:02Bottom box, you saw a great scrap between Triumphs, Jordan Smith,
05:06and the rock star, Angie Factory House founder of Malcolm Stewart.
05:09But prior to that, you saw a really slick move from Dylan Ferrandez to get by Smith.
05:15Now, here comes Malcolm again, through the whoops.
05:17This is the fight for sixth place.
05:19Behind them is Garrett Marchbank and Colt Nichols
05:21has the ninth and final transfer position over Mitchell Harrison.
05:26Yeah, the 20th, George Smith doing a great job.
05:29This is one of his best runs he's had in a while.
05:32Oh, Mookie.
05:33Down goes Malcolm Stewart.
05:34Oh, that's weird.
05:35It's an interesting area where he crashed, but he gets back up on the bike quickly.
05:41Hopefully he's all right.
05:44Looks like...
05:48Kenny, he's kind of hasn't made up much time.
05:51He's got two laps to go.
05:53This is a very difficult track.
05:56I mean, you know, with the elevation, the lack of horsepower takes a toll on your body.
06:02The dirt is different in certain areas, like there's some grip, and it's hard packed.
06:08It's choppy in areas as well.
06:10And it's really hard to get a bike that's completely balanced in all areas.
06:14When you have multiple conditions and contrasting conditions, like here at this racetrack,
06:21looks like he's lost a little bit of his intensity.
06:24Maybe he's just going to settle for this third position.
06:28Doesn't look like he's overriding the motorcycle.
06:34So Malcolm Stewart, bottom box, he got with that fall.
06:38He got pushed outside the top nine.
06:40So now he's going to have to try and do something special to catch Mitchell Harrison over this closing lap.
06:46I wonder if something's wrong with his bike.
06:49Like, I don't know, maybe he damaged something when he fell.
06:52Oh, it looks like his front end.
06:53See, his front end's locked.
06:54Oh, yeah, yeah.
06:55His front wheel's locking up.
06:55Did you see that in the air?
06:57That is super scary when that fits up.
07:00You see it right there.
07:00Watch the front end.
07:01See how it stops spinning?
07:03No wonder he's dropped so many positions right here.
07:09That bike hit the ground pretty hard when he falls.
07:12He's going to have to pull over, pull off.
07:14So we will see Malcolm Stewart in the last chance qualifier while you're looking at the Red Bull KTM of
07:21Jorge Prado.
07:22I want to give props to this guy.
07:24We haven't talked about it in the last couple weeks, which, in those type of conditions, I thought he would
07:28have been shiny.
07:29But he's done an incredible job based off of last year.
07:33Yep.
07:34And so many new venues for him, too.
07:35Denver's one of those.
07:37That is heat win number four on the year.
07:41And it's been a long while because his other heat wins all came within the first handful of races this
07:46year.
07:47So well done, Jorge Prado.
07:49Sexton follows him home for second.
07:51And the championship leader in third with Ken Rockson.
07:56But Prado, the start specialist, the whole shot specialist, converts it into a heat win.
08:03And you saw how much it meant to the Spaniard win.
