Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch says "it's time to ban" pro-Palestine marches, saying "it is quite clear that they are used as a cover for promoting violence and intimidation against Jews". It comes after the prime minister has said he is concerned about the "cumulative effect" of marches, following calls for bans on pro-Palestinian protests in the wake of the Golders Green attack. 00:00Keir Starmer has said protesters at these Palestine marches have a responsibility to call out others using chants like Globalize
00:07the Intifada.
00:08Is it right and fair that this responsibility is on members of the public? And what should the government be
00:14doing to tackle this?
00:14I think it is time to ban these marches. They were given the benefit of the doubt, but it is
00:20quite clear that they are used as a cover for promoting violence and intimidation against Jews.
00:26Anyone saying Globalize the Intifada or chanting from the river to the sea knows exactly what they are doing.
00:34They are trying to let people know that there is support for harming Jews. We need to make sure that
00:39that is stopped completely.
00:40Otherwise, we are going to continue seeing horrific events like we saw in Golders Green this week or like we
00:46saw in Manchester in Heaton Park Synagogue last year.
