00:00Well, firstly, let me say that this was a vile and abhorrent attack that took place in Golders
00:04Green and we stand in solidarity with the Jewish community. In terms of any potential threat from
00:10Iran, clearly there's an ongoing counter-terrorism police investigation. We take the threat from
00:15Iran incredibly seriously and that's why we've announced today that we will fast-track new
00:20legislation to provide a state threat prescription tool. So we're working across government to
00:25defend against those threats, but clearly I don't want to say anything that will get in the way of
00:28a live police operation. How does that stop them deploying UK-based proxies? There are a number
00:35of activities underway to target those criminal proxies who might be tempted to conduct criminal
00:41activity on behalf of Iran, but there's been for some time a debate about whether we've got the
00:47right legislative toolkit and that's why we commissioned Jonathan Hall, who's the independent
00:51reviewer of terrorism and state threats legislation, to look at whether we've got the appropriate
00:55legislative framework. He concluded that we haven't and that's why I'm able to confirm that we will
01:00fast-track a new bill through parliament that will give us that additional state prescription capability.
01:05The reviewer has also suggested there needs to be greater risk taken to potentially curtail the
01:12protests that we've seen calling for an end to military strikes in Gaza. Is there any potential that the
01:19government would go further against those protests? We will take whatever actions are necessary. The
01:24Home Secretary recently banned a march from taking place in London and the Crime and Policing Bill has just
01:29recently received royal assent which gives the police new powers in this particular area. So we want to do
01:35what we possibly can to make sure that our Jewish communities both feel and are safe. And the Home
01:40Secretary has commissioned Lord MacDonald to look further at this particular issue.
01:44One of the victims, Shlomi Rand, said that he feels the government has let Jewish people down. Is he right?
01:52We will do everything that we possibly can to support our Jewish communities and that's why I'm confirming this
01:58morning £25 million of new investment. That's important because it will give the police additional
02:04capabilities to keep our Jewish communities safe. That takes to £58 million the amount of money that
02:10we've invested in keeping our Jewish communities safe. So I completely understand the concerns. We
02:16stand in solidarity with our Jewish communities. We won't hesitate to take more action if that's
02:21required. But I'm pleased that we have been able to announce this additional resource.
02:25Right now, the price of oil is at its highest since the Ukrainian region. That's having a real
02:31impact on families. How concerned are you about that and what are the steps taken to mitigate that?
02:37The government is very concerned about the cost of living pressures on families here in the United
02:42Kingdom. That's why we've constantly worked towards a de-escalation of the military situation in the
02:47Middle East because of the impact it's having on our economy. The Prime Minister and other government
02:52ministers, including the Chancellor, are seized by the need to do everything that we possibly can
02:57to support our people at a particular moment of pressure. So we completely understand the cost of
03:02living pressures that the public are facing and we'll do everything that we can to support them
03:07through. Has Trump been saying that he thinks the King would have backed the US on Iran? Is that embarrassing?
03:13I think the royal visit has been a huge success. I'm really proud to see the reception, the reaction
03:20that His Majesty the King has received in the United States. This is an important visit. We have a very
03:26important relationship with the United States. I see that as the Security Minister every single day. We work
03:32very closely with our American counterparts. So it's been great to see the King's visit. I think it's
03:37gone incredibly well and I'm confident that it will only strengthen the relationship between our two
03:42great countries. We've seen calls to curtail some of the protests around Palestine but the police have also
03:49said that the suspects had a history of mental illness. Is there a danger of conflating the acts of
03:56somebody who is unwell with terrorism? I need to be very careful what I say because counter-terrorism
04:03police are conducting a live investigation and what we want to make sure happens above all else
04:08is that the perpetrator is held to account for his actions. The police do a very important job keeping
04:14the public safe. I paid tribute to the officers yesterday who arrested the perpetrator. Very challenging
04:21circumstances. I have no doubt that their actions saved lives in Golders Green and we should pay
04:27tribute to them and their colleagues in the police force for the important work that they do.

04:33Jordan asked about, because we were at Golders Green, oh yeah, you were now, but Sarah Sackman,
04:39the Labour MP, was absolutely, you know, drowned out, booed. I mean, I'm just wondering whether you think,
04:46you know, Labour just don't seem to have any kind of credibility.
04:50Okay, yeah. Yeah, yeah. So we've seen successive Labour politicians booed in Jewish communities.
04:56They feel that you are not doing enough. Are you, can you face them and do you feel that you
05:03have
05:03lost their support and what do you say to them? So I personally recently visited Jewish communities
05:07over the past few weeks and I completely understand the concern, the anger that has been expressed.
05:12That's why we stand with our Jewish communities. That's why we've brought forward 25 million pounds
05:17of new investment. That's why I can confirm that we're going to fast track new legislation through
05:22Parliament. So there is a lot of work that we're undertaking to make sure that our Jewish communities feel
05:26safe. An attack on them is an attack on us all and we will do everything that we can to
05:32support
05:32with them and stand with them at this difficult time.
