00:00On this episode of Uncharted Waters, I'm in Cabo San Lucas for the finale of the Zane Gray Sportfishing Championship
00:07Playoffs.
00:08Before going live on ESPN, I head offshore for a pre-fish day with one of the most dominant teams
00:15in the series, Lights Out, in search of striped marlin.
00:19After an incredible day on the water with Team Lights Out, landing more than 20 striped marlin,
00:24I return to the Corazon Cabo Resort to host the SFC's Zane Gray Championships.
00:30With the tournament wrapped up and the hard-fought battles finished, it's finally time for me to get back on
00:36the water.
00:37I team up with Rich Bargis of Pacific Icon, stepping aboard the beautiful 46-foot Invincible Cat called Manta Raya
00:46in pursuit of my very first striped marlin on a center console.

01:52Well, here we are back in Cabo.
01:54It's a great time of year.
01:56The weather's perfect.
01:57Fish are biting.
01:59And I'm lucky enough to be going out with my good buddies here in the Lights Out.
02:03And I think we're going to get them today.
02:05We got striped marlin country.
02:07They're catching yellowfin tuna.
02:08They get a little blue marlin action once in a while.
02:10But these guys, they're at the top of the game, the top of the food chain.
02:15We've got the cross there up on the mountain behind us.
02:18So it's God's plan.
02:20Aboard the Lights Out, with owner slash operator Rob Carmichael and his family and crew members,
02:26we waste no time leaving the inlet.
02:28On our way out, we cross paths with the shotgun start of the Little Bisbee's tournament,
02:33with close to 150 boats competing.
02:39After a 50-mile run to the northwest, we finally reach the Fingerbanks,
02:44a world-renowned hotspot that holds a ton of striped marlin.
02:47I'm a visitor.
02:49You know, you've got to observe for a little while until someone gives you the tap.
02:52These guys, these guys are so pro.

03:46On some of the best boats, there's no conversation because everyone's doing what they do best.
03:50And they're working over, under, dropping back, you know, and it's real quiet.
03:54But the captain sees everything.

12:09Now, word has it in filming with Uncharted Waters and Peter Miller, you got something yesterday, a world record in
12:17fact, both a bird's nest and what else?
12:21I called it a raven's nest, or as Peter would say.

12:27We ended up dumping her in reverse and coming back and catching the fish, and it ended up being number
12:3320 for us on the day.

12:42You kind of want to like put your dirty laundry out there before anyone else can attack.

12:47You may have not seen one that's large before, but it is massive.
12:50When you look at our four teams that are in here, white marlin, you had the Lights Out Boston team
12:55with 85 white marlin.
12:57That trumps everybody.
12:58Nobody's even close.
12:59That's one of the reasons that they were able to take the Atlantic.

13:13After watching these elite teams battle it out all weekend, it's finally time for me to get some water time
13:18of my own.
13:20Today, I'm heading offshore with Rich Bargis of Pacific Icon, aboard the stunning 46-foot Invincible Cat.
13:27I'm so excited to be on this boat and you put it together.
13:31So tell me about your company, Pacific Icon, and tell me how this all came about and what you got
13:35going on.
13:36Yeah, man. Pacific Icon, man, we're more than just a boat dealership, right?
13:40We like to think of ourselves as a luxury adventure brand.
13:43So we're a collaboration of the guys who are actually doing it here in the Pacific.
13:48From Southern California, San Diego, down here in Cabo.
13:52We got Jared down here.
13:53We got the guys who are actually running these boats day in and day out.
13:57So, you know, for us, man, what we're trying to really accomplish is give clients exceptional life experiences.

15:08You know, watching all these guys catch fish on the sport fishing championship finale was wonderful,
15:15but everyone just left today and it's a really nice time to get out here, especially on this Invincible.

16:53So the Marlin are cutting through it.
16:55And they're just like, you know, like this.

16:59But they're pushing the bait up to the surface.

18:32A lot of people are asking about the White Marlin versus the Stripe Marlin.

20:07We're the entire Pacific.
20:08So, we've got an office in Costa Rica, Hawaii.
20:10So, we might have to go out there for one of our next trips.
