00:23My Knicks, baby! Go, New York! Go, New York! Go!
00:27That is exactly what Dr. Naismith pictured when he invented the game of basketball.
00:34That was absolutely, positively sensational.
00:37How great of a win was it?
00:39Obviously. Look at that score.
00:41Look at this.
00:41Look at this gorgeous, beautiful back page of the New York Post.
00:46And then, oh, baby, you know it's gold when you get the front page treatment as well.
00:54Routes of this world, out of this world.
00:58I can't get enough.
00:59I couldn't stop on the train coming in today, reading the New York Post.
01:03That was unbelievable.
01:05That was, mark the date, April the 30th, 2026.
01:09The single most perfect example of basketball in the postseason ever played.
01:14That was it.
01:15I mean, choose your nugget of domination.
01:18Look at that.
01:19Look at the first half, right?
01:21I mean, just incredible.
01:23A first half full of history for the Knicks.
01:2783 points.
01:2983 points.
01:3121 assists.
01:32The ball movement was unbelievable.
01:34It was incredible to watch.
01:37You look at it.
01:38They were up 25 after the first quarter.
01:40I went to Twitter, and I was like, that's the greatest thing I've ever seen.
01:45I had to log off Twitter because I kept repeating myself, is this real life?
01:4951 points.
01:5151 points they led by in the first half.
01:54I mean, unbelievable.
01:5647 points they had that lead at the half.
01:5851 points margin in terms of a franchise record.
02:02Margin of victory.
02:03Absolutely incredible.
02:05I just, I couldn't get enough.
02:07You take a look at what they did with that 47-point halftime lead.
02:11That's a record.
02:13That is the greatest thing we've ever seen in the history of the NBA and the NBA postseason.
02:18I, I couldn't get enough.
02:2151 points margin of victory.
02:24I mean, it was a thing of beauty.
02:26It was Picasso, Mozart rolled into one.
02:31The way the Knicks played last night, and we said they were going to win, and we said
02:37they were going to kick ass and take names, and we said they would make a statement.
02:41I mean, what the Knicks did last night was the greatest, most fun game in the history
02:48of the Knicks franchise from a sheer domination perspective.
02:52And we saw that clip of Brunson and company leaving the floor.
02:56Was that Atlanta?
02:57Was that an extension of New York?
02:59I mean, my goodness.
03:01The Hawks just got embarrassed, pummeled.
03:04That was a disgrace.
03:06And it was all because of the genius of the Knicks.
03:09I mean, every single element of it was just unreal, and it was an epic ass-kicking, a
03:16beatdown of next-level proportions.
03:18We showed all the historic Nuggets, and it all started with our guy, OG, going off.
03:24Made some changes.
03:25Who guards him?
03:26Drums into Ananobi.
03:27And Ananobi, jump shot, gets it a go.
03:30Ananobi gets it again.
03:32He gets a clean look from three, and OG Ananobi, what a start.
03:36Ananobi tries again, puts it in.
03:38OG Ananobi flips it out.
03:40Ananobi drives, running shots up, and banks it in.
03:43And they're very excited, as Ananobi once again.
03:46Ananobi left open again, fires away, and that's another three.
03:49Thrives a zone, something to try to disrupt the rhythm.
03:53Ananobi on the drive, goes inside, counted, and a foul.
03:56Ananobi gets inside, Leia banks it home.
03:59He's got 26 points.
04:0129 points for OG Ananobi.
04:04OG, baby, let's go.
04:06And this is why, when Leon Rose made that trade, I was like, this is fantastic.
04:10And if you're a Knicks fan, you know, right?
04:13You can tell, in terms of, I'll use a Bill Raftery here, right?
04:17The way that OG sets the puppies, and when he is in the right frame of mind,
04:22and he's literally just focused in terms of his shot, and he's just under control,
04:28he's unbelievable.
04:29And you take a look at what he did against the Atlanta Hawks, I mean, it's unreal.
04:35You look at it, 24 points per game in his last four.
04:38And here are the numbers and the sheer domination when you look at what he was able to accomplish.
04:43And OG Ananobi in this series, I mean, plus 84, plus 84.
04:50OG was unreal.
04:52He hit three after three, shot after shot early.
04:55It was just absolutely incredible.
04:57And you look at OG, he was sensational.
05:00And you take a look at what transpired with Karl-Anthony Towns.
05:03How about Cat?
05:04And I got to give Mike Brown credit, right?
05:08You know, after game three, he made that adjustment, and he said,
05:11look, I mean, it's a spot where we have to, at the end of the day, make sure,
05:15because Quinn Snyder's team did a good job, have to have the offense go through Cat.
05:20And it was awesome.
05:21How about Karl-Anthony Towns?
05:22We're talking about consecutive games in the playoffs, triple-double, like a point center.
05:29That was huge.
05:31Mikkel Bridges was unbelievable, the way that Bridges played.
05:36That was incredible.
05:37Great for the Knicks last night.
05:40Great for them, big picture.
05:4124 points for Bridges.
05:4210 of 12 shooting.
05:44He had five rebounds.
05:45I thought Bridges' defense was unbelievable last night.
05:49And Mike Brown made a point to talk about that after the game.
05:52Sam and Jalen Brunson was awesome, just in terms of the energy, effort, being Captain Clutch,
05:58setting the tone, and the Knicks, down 2-1 in this series, left nothing to chance.
06:04When you take a look at what they were able to do in Game 4, Game 5, Game 6,
06:10and you heard Tim Legler, who I think is phenomenal on the ESPN broadcast last night,
06:16where Legs is telling the story when the game,
06:19we almost got to jog them at the Rolodex, it's like it didn't even happen,
06:22was competitive for the first couple of minutes.
06:24I want you to think about this for perspective.
06:27Legler told the story.
06:29He sat with Quinn Snyder in the production meeting,
06:32and Quinn Snyder loved the energy, loved the walkthrough, loved the way his team looked,
06:39loved how they were going to fight.
06:40And then the Knicks pitched the perfect game and stole their soul, stole their crowd,
06:48stole their fans, literally stole the basketball.
06:51Everything about that performance last night, if you're a Knicks fan, was unbelievable.
06:56The effort, the energy.
06:58Look, I was thrilled when Mitchell Robinson got thrown out of that game,
07:02and Legler and Richard Jefferson and Mike Breen on hand.
07:04They were fantastic, talking about how, hey, the one danger here is you just got to make sure
07:09that no one gets in a fight, and then a couple minutes later, you saw Mitch get thrown out, good,
07:15because you always have shades of, you know, Van Gundy and suspensions and Miami
07:20and the Knicks from a lifetime ago.
07:22So I like the way Mike Brown handled that second half.
07:25You heard Charles Barkley at halftime talking about, hey,
07:28when are you going to get these guys out of the game?
07:30The role player stepped up.
07:33I mean, just incredible.
07:35Absolutely incredible.
07:36And it's crazy when you think about it.
07:38It was just a few games ago.
07:39Mike Brown's seat was getting hot, but the Knicks head coach is confident
07:44that everything is gelling at just the right time for his team.
07:47It's hard to replicate, duplicate, however you want to say it.
07:52But our guys, their connectedness right now is off the charts.
07:57And like I said, when you lock in to the detail and you're connected like that
08:03with a group that's as talented and versatile as that group, you have a chance to do that.
08:08The Knicks just set an NBA record plus 105 against Atlanta.
08:16Plus 105.
08:17That is the best plus minus in the history of the NBA playoffs in a six-game series.
08:23That is unbelievable.
08:25And when you watch OG and you watch Cats and you watch the adjustments that Mike Brown made,
08:32listen, he deserves a ton of credit.
08:35And we've talked about this.
08:37And he deserved heats after the choke, and we gave it to him in game number two.
08:41Then the team was sloppy in game number three.
08:44Mike Brown deserves praise and deserves props and deserves all the accolades in the world
08:50for what the Knicks were able to do game four, game five, game six.
08:54He made the adjustment with Karl-Anthony Towns, credited Quinn Snyder for what he did with the Hawks
09:00in terms of defense and all the balance and taking Cat out of it.
09:04And then they had to have it go through Karl-Anthony Towns.
09:06He made the proper adjustment.
09:08He made an adjustment in game four, game five, in terms of how many minutes he was going to play.
09:13Mike Brown made sure Bridges got confidence last night.
09:18Look, we all know the standard here, right?
09:21Standard is going to the NBA Finals.
09:24So that's how Mike Brown is going to be judged.
09:27And I want to be crystal clear on a couple of things, okay?
09:29Number one, Knicks are not out of the woods.
09:32This is obviously, you don't celebrate.
09:34You appreciate last night was historic.
09:37I mean, this tells you everything you need to know.
09:40That tells you everything you need to know.
09:42What the Knicks did last night was unbelievable, right?
09:45No Knicks fan alive.
09:47No one in the press is going to sit here and crown New York based upon what they did against
09:52Atlanta.
09:52But you do celebrate.
09:53You do appreciate.
09:55And you do acknowledge big picture.
09:57What I've been telling you on Shine Time for a while.
10:01The Knicks are winning the East.
10:02And if you didn't believe me, maybe you believe me now.
10:05The New York Knicks are the best team in the Eastern Conference.
10:08And anything less than going to the NBA Finals and competing with OKC is going to be a disappointment.
10:15And once again, and this is important here, there are reasons to believe,
10:19if you're paying attention, that the Knicks can do this.
10:22Because the Knicks, the last week of the season, handled business.
10:26They played with purpose and poise and beat excellent teams.
10:30That was inspiring.
10:31Then, in this series, they handled adversity.
10:37That was a Hawks team that was really strong down the stretch of the season.
10:41Brilliantly coached.
10:43Knicks are down 2-1.
10:46They stayed poised.
10:47They stayed calm.
10:48And in Game 4, Game 5, Game 6, on the heels of Game 3, where they were sloppy and lazy
10:55and lethargic to start,
10:57the Knicks, the way they were together and the way they exploded in those games, especially at the beginning, was
11:04unbelievable.
11:05And listen, I just love the fact that we have a Game 7 with Boston and Philly because, you know,
11:11these teams are battling while the Knicks are resting.
11:13And I love the fact that you look at Detroit and they are scuffling.
11:18You look at Cleveland and they are scuffling.
11:20And once again, it's more proof that the New York Knicks are absolutely, unequivocally, without question, going to win the
11:28Eastern Conference.
11:29And I think that if you're paying attention here, if you're being honest and objective, no one is beating the
11:35Knicks.
11:36Nobody.
11:36And this is not an overreaction.
11:38I see other people on, you know, the Twitter tough guys, you know, some others in the media.
11:43Now the Knicks are the favorite.
11:44No.
11:45The Knicks have been the favorite the entire season.
11:49It's always and only been about the Knicks.
11:53That's it.
11:54And could you trust them?
11:56Could you trust Mike Brown?
11:57Could you trust Carl Anthony Towns?
11:59Could you trust O.G. Ananobi?
12:01Could you trust Mikael Bridges?
12:03We were killing him rightly so he earned all of it.
12:06I regret nothing.
12:07But the way this team played, backs against the wall, down 2-1, the way they left nothing to chance.
12:15These were not flukes.
12:17They absolutely destroyed the Atlanta Hawks.
12:21The Hawks are going to have to make massive changes because of how bad,
12:25how bad the Knicks stole their soul.
12:28That was in Atlanta last night.
12:31I go back to those comments from Tim Legler.
12:34I mean, my goodness.
12:35I mean, this is unreal.
12:37Unreal.
12:38I'm such a giddy Knicks fan.
12:40You can't tell me anything right about now.
12:42This is the deal.
12:43And the rest of the East is weird.
12:45And I'm not turning the Knicks into a perfect basketball team.
12:48But the New York Knicks, talents, toughness, dealing with adversity,
12:53no matter what transpires in any other series,
12:57the New York Knicks should absolutely win the Eastern Conference.
13:00Anything less will be a disappointment.
13:02And what the Knicks just did last night in Atlanta, that was perfection.
13:08That was a harbinger of things to come.
13:10Get out the way.
13:12The New York Knicks are on an absolute freight train to the NBA Finals.
13:17I'm telling you right now.
13:18And look, I was thrilled as I flipped around with the Knicks,
13:24right with that incredible performance last night.
13:27I still, I mean, this, I might frame this puppy.
13:30This is unreal.
