00:00President Trump has been very strong about NATO.
00:02It is a group of nations who traditionally have not been upholding their end of the bargain.
00:11This has been a bill by the American taxpayer.
00:15And to consistently see the American taxpayer carry the majority of the weight to protect Europe, that's unfair.
00:23And so that's why President Trump was elected all the times that he was elected as president,
00:29even though they threw everything in the kitchen sink at him, he still won.
00:34Because the American people want a president, a commander-in-chief, that will focus primarily first on American citizens.
00:42And spending billions of dollars to support a weakening body like NATO to support a European war or support Europeans
00:53while the Europeans themselves are not upholding their end of the bargain.
00:58Again, it's a hard pill to swallow for the American people.
01:02So the president is just following the voice and the people of the citizens he has formed to protect and
01:08to preserve.
01:09So I push back very strongly on what Pastor Burns has said there, actually, if I may.
01:14And it is entirely untrue that Donald Trump has been strong on NATO.
01:20He has severely weakened the alliance.
01:23And it is foundational to Western security, this alliance.
01:27The king pointed out in front of your Congress that NATO came to the aid of America in its hour
01:34of need post 9-11.
01:36And indeed, many service personnel from this country and others in Europe and beyond lost their lives fighting shoulder to
01:46shoulder with American troops.
01:49And it is true, I will grant you that, that European nations need to put more money into their defense.
01:56They do need to put their shoulder to the wheel a little more than they are already.
02:01But that doesn't for a second excuse Donald Trump's weakness.
02:05And yes, I call it weakness on NATO to describe it as a paper tiger a few weeks ago.
02:12And also to say, indeed, that Putin sees it as a paper tiger, I think is truly disgraceful.
02:19It shames America.
02:20And it undermines the Western alliance.
02:23It's true.
02:24It is a paper lion.
02:26It is not respected.
02:27If so, that Russia would not be attacking Ukraine, even though we know Ukraine is not a member of NATO.
02:34But Poland is.
02:35The Baltic state, excuse me, is.
02:37And no one really respects NATO because NATO, just like the fact that UK refused to send naval ships to
02:45support the Strait of Hamus, when that's really your country that will be morally affected by the closure, not the
02:53American people.
02:54And remember, everything you just said about how President Trump has weakened NATO.
03:00Listen, you keep talking about Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump.
03:04You failed to mention the American people, the millions of American people.
03:09These are American policies.
03:12You have Trump-Durane syndrome, like most people who speak about Donald Trump as though it's just him.
03:18There are multiple layers of government and checks and balances here in America.
03:23We don't have a king.
03:25I mean, even though we now know that Donald Trump is royalty.
03:29But he's not a king.
03:31He's an elected official by the people.
