00:00Thank you ever so much. We certainly appreciate it. Now sit still and we'll show you one of our artists.
00:05They're very interesting. They're unusual because they make, I guess, what is Native American music you'll see in a moment.
00:12It's one of the popular sellers of the day.
00:14Oh, that's fine. That's fine. That's what we're looking forward to.
00:16Okay.
00:30I need you so. And if I hadn't been, I'll never let you go. So won't you say you love
00:44me? I'll make you so proud of me. We'll make them turn their heads every place we go. So won't
00:55you please?
00:56Be my, be my baby. Be my little baby. My one and only baby. Be my, be my baby. Be
01:06my baby now. I'll make you happy, baby. Just wait and see. For every tip you give me, I'll give
01:24you three.
01:26Oh, since the day I saw you. I have been waiting for you. You know I went home for you.
01:37You'll be better to see. So won't you say you love me? I'll make you happy, baby.
01:45Oh, since the day I saw you. You know I'll make you happy, baby. Be my baby now. I'll make
01:55you happy, baby.

02:24go. So won't you say you love me? I'll never let you be happy, baby.
02:53Oh my, ladies.
02:56You will move out here a little bit.
02:59Nice to have you all here.
03:00Let me jump in the middle.
03:02It'll be easier and I can pass this microphone around a bit.
03:04Let's meet by names, first of all.
03:06May I have your first name?
03:06Ronnie.
03:07Ronnie?
03:08Michelle.
03:08Michelle?
03:09Major.
03:10How do you spell that?
03:11NPR.
03:11Okay.
03:12I feel a little, I must frankly admit, I feel a little more comfortable now than I did a moment
03:16ago.
03:17I did an interview show years and years ago where nobody spoke English, and it's extremely difficult sometimes.
03:22It's a simple question.
03:23Let me start with an easy one.
03:24How long have you gals been together?
03:26About two and a half years.
03:27Are you by any chance related?
03:29Did somebody tell me they're sisters in this group?
03:31Yes.
03:31Ronnie and I are sisters in this group.
03:34That's all a family affair.
03:35Have you traveled a good deal since you put this group together?
03:39Quite a bit.
03:39We've been to the Bahamas and Bermuda, Hawaii.
03:43Wait a minute.
03:43Let me ask you about Bermuda and the Bahamas and Nassau and so forth.
03:46Did you like that?
03:47Oh, it was a bore.
03:48Would you like to go back again?
03:49Wonderful.
03:50I love it.
03:51I tell you, that's one of my favorite spots.
03:53It's a pretty thing.
03:54Have you made a lot of records?
03:55We made two others besides this one, yes.
03:58Did they have any success?
03:59No.
04:00Did you ever get discouraged along the way when this happened?
04:03No, not really.
04:04We just kept trying.
04:07How long were they between, say, the first time you made a record and this time?
04:11It was about six months.
04:13Oh, you didn't have that long.
04:14You got discouraged.
04:15How old are you, if I may inquire?
04:17I'm 18.
04:1818?
04:1919.
04:1917.
04:20The baby is here, if I may.
04:22Well, that makes it even 17, 18, 19.
04:24What does the future hold for the Ronettes?
04:25Are you going to make albums, travel, or have you?
04:27Well, we're going to California to make an album, and then we're going to make a Christmas album.
04:34Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, this is September,
04:36October, this is the last part of September, what are you doing?
04:39Making Christmas albums.
04:40Well, we're going to make a Christmas album, I don't know why so early, but we're going to do it.
04:43You're going to do it for this Christmas?
04:44Yeah, and then we're going to do a tour for ourselves, we're going to go, of course, to rest and
04:48everything.
04:48And then, we're going to be with Dick Clark on his wonderful tour.
04:52Wee-hee!
04:52You know, everybody is talking about this, and we've set it up for November, as long as we don't run
04:56into snow, all will be well.
04:58Have you been to California before?
04:59Yes, many times.
05:01Ladies, if you may, we'd like to join you at the autograph table, okay?
05:05We'll see you there.
05:06Thank you so much.
05:07The Ronettes, ladies and gentlemen.
05:11These three young ladies at the autograph table, you're going to hear a good deal of.
05:14The Ronettes with Be My Baby.
05:16This is the first of, I'm sure, many, many successful records for them,
05:19because they have apparently discovered the secret sound of recorded success.
05:24And we thank them very much for stopping by.
05:26Now, incidentally, our guests next week on American Bandstand are a pair of talented young ladies.
05:31Ms. Linda Scott and Ms. Dee Dee Sharp will both be here one week from today.
05:36That's Dee Dee Sharp and Linda Scott on American Bandstand.
05:40We'll be back with you in just a moment.
