00:42Around 36,400 are based in Germany.
00:46Trump has long criticised Germany and other NATO allies for not spending enough on defence.
00:51Tensions have also grown after NATO allies refused to provide support Trump sought for the war in Iran,
00:58which the U.S. launched alongside Israel without prior consultation.
