“We are taking threats from Iran seriously,” the Security Minister Dan Jarvis has said, following the stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green. He said the government is working closely with police and security agencies and is planning new legislation to strengthen protections for communities facing threats linked to hostile states. 00:00Firstly, let me say that this was a vile and abhorrent attack that took place in
00:04Golders Green and we stand in solidarity with the Jewish community. In terms of
00:08any potential threat from Iran, clearly there's an ongoing counter-terrorism
00:13police investigation. We take the threat from Iran incredibly seriously and
00:17that's why we've announced today that we will fast-track new legislation to
00:21provide a state threat prescription tool. So we're working across government to
00:25defend against those threats but clearly I don't want to say anything that will
00:28get in the way of a live police operation.
