00:00Welcome back to episode 7 of our race to claim the most train stations in Taiwan.
00:05Here's the state of the game.
00:06Right now, Mike and I are behind on stations, with 72 compared to Ben and Adam's 125.
00:12The good news for us, though, is that we're way ahead on chips, with 130 versus Ben and Adam's poultry
00:1738.
00:18That's in part because Ben and Adam spent almost all their chips trying to break through our wall around Taipei.
00:23But they failed, meaning now they've had to spend almost an entire day retreating to Kaohsiung,
00:28while Mike and I claim new stations and fortify others.
00:31But all is not lost for them.
00:33Due to some tricky challenges and slow routes, Mike and I haven't been able to make progress as quickly as
00:38we'd hoped.
00:38And now, Ben and Adam are only a few hours outside Kaohsiung,
00:41which means soon they'll be back in the game and itching to earn some chips.
00:45I think we're sort of back in business.
00:47Yeah, we just gotta get a Kaohsiung and see what the board looks like by the time we get there.
00:52Let's go get on the platform, Ben.
00:54Yep. Adam.
00:56Yeah?
00:56Do you know about this guy?
00:58Tell me about this guy.
00:59This guy is, he is the mascot of Taiwanese 7-Eleven.
01:06He's a dog alien.
01:07He's a dog alien?
01:09He's a dog alien.
01:10I would argue that he looks more like sort of like a little rainbow guy.
01:14Well, he's a dog alien.
01:16Okay, great.
01:16Let's go to Kaohsiung.
01:17Dude, let's finally get to Kaohsiung.
01:20Geez.
01:25At long last, Benjamin.
01:32This is not the fastest brain in the world, though.
01:35It'll get us there.
01:36He's good.
02:05Let's go for it.
02:06Nearing the end of this line now, we do have a 45% multiplier around there.
02:12Yeah.
02:12We get off at, I think, Driefen, and then we have to take like a bus.
02:17The truth is, we don't really have good options for adding to our balance that much, because
02:24we have a multiplier, but we don't have a very high balance.
02:26We have a steel, but they don't have a very high balance.
02:29And there's not much else nearby.
02:30There's not much else nearby, so I don't really know what we want to do after this,
02:34but we can cross that bridge and get to it.
02:36That's the way the game's been going.
02:38Yep.
02:42Welcome to Driefen.
02:43Looks like our bus is in 10 minutes.
02:48Oh, perfect timing.
02:49It actually says free.
02:50I won!
02:51It's cool, right?
02:52That's very cool.
02:56Oh, it looks like it's a station.
03:00There's one.
03:01There's one.
03:16All right, well, it looks like they got off their train, and then they're headed to that
03:22multiplier after all.
03:24That seems crazy to me.
03:26It does seem crazy.
03:26That multiplier will only be worth 28 chips now, because they shed so much in their budget.
03:32I don't know why you would get rid of over half your budget on a not-very-useful line before
03:36you go for a multiplier.
03:38I don't know what their next moves are now.
03:40They're playing so weird.
03:42I got no clue.
03:44Let's see.
04:03It's this.
04:04Yes, this.
04:06Oh.
04:08I thought this was like a preschool or a kindergarten.
04:11Hopefully not.
04:12All right.
04:13Welcome to the...
04:15Rainbow Village.
04:16Oh, Rainbow Village.
04:18Yeah.
04:19Cool.
04:20All right.
04:21Rainbow Village.
04:22Our challenge worth a 45% boost.
04:26Pitch a Painting.
04:32Pitch a Painting.
04:33Taichung's Rainbow Village is one of Taiwan's largest and longest-running art projects,
04:38originally painted to prevent the neighborhood's demolition in the 1950s.
04:41Amy has selected five paintings in the Taichung Rainbow Village and included photographs of them.
04:46One player will look at the photos, select one, and describe it to their partner.
04:50That player must then go into the Taichung Rainbow Village and find the painting.
04:53If they are mistaken, they may reattempt one time.
04:56Otherwise, the challenge has failed.
04:58Do you want to search, or do you want to describe?
05:01I'll pick the painting this time and describe.
05:03It works.
05:04So I have the five photos here.
05:06I'm going to pick one and describe one.
05:08Oh, there's one I want to do, but I don't think it's a smart move.
05:11Okay, are you ready for a description?
05:13Yes.
05:13Let me write down some notes.
05:15It looks like a jester.
05:18White body with blue outline.
05:20Looking upwards.
05:22Yellow crown or jester hat.
05:24It has what looks like a tail or a sword coming out from the right-hand side or its left
05:30-hand side.
05:31It does have two rosy cheeks.
05:33Do you have any context for, like, what material it's on?
05:36It's on a white wall, and it looks like it has a little bit of red brick down one side.
05:41Okay.
05:41Do you have a sense of how big it is?
05:43No.
05:44No?
05:45I really don't.
05:46Okay, do you think I should go try?
05:47I think you should go try.
05:48All right, I'll do my best.
05:50Okay, good luck.
05:51That's a good description.
05:52All right, based on the description, I feel like I should be able to get this.
06:00There's only so much white wall.
06:07Oh, hello there.
06:08I didn't see you.
06:09It's just us.
06:11We're still on the train, but we're getting closer.
06:13And that means that for only a little bit longer, we remain in the snack zone, baby.
06:26We are going to be trying scallop-flavored these computer chips.
06:32Another seafood-flavored chip.
06:35I thought they were really cool.
06:38Get a whip of that scallop.
06:45No.
06:46No.
06:47Nope.
06:48We're one for two with the seafood chips, which is frankly better than I'll move to now.
06:55Right now, they're still working on that challenge.
06:58Look, they were given an enormous advantage of having two-thirds of a day where we were
07:03completely out of the game, and I would argue that they squandered it.
07:06I would say they've pretty much been for that.
07:10Here's a white wall.
07:22Wait, I mean, that's a court jester.
07:26I don't see...
07:28Michael thought there was red brick, but everything else matches.
07:33Like, I think that's got to be it.
07:38It sure looks like it.
07:39I'm a little concerned because that kind of seemed a lot easier than I think it was supposed
07:45to be.
07:45Do you want me to remind you of what I described?
07:48I mean, okay, look, I got a tail going to the right.
07:51It's looking up.
07:52It's got a yellow crown.
07:53Yeah.
07:53It's got a blue outline.
07:55Yeah.
07:55It's on a white wall.
07:57It's got red dimples.
07:58That's all I told you.
08:01Okay, I'm going to lock it in then.
08:02Okay?
08:05That.
08:06That's it.
08:09That was...
08:10Oh, well done.
08:12Nice, easy 45% boost.
08:14Look at the other one I was going to show you.
08:17How fun does this guy look?
08:19It looks like Ben.
08:20That's what I thought.
08:22Oh, okay.
08:23Well, they have completed their 45% multiplier.
08:27I mean, it only got 28 chips.
08:30Congratulations, Sam and Mike, on your brand new chips.
08:33We need to generate a new challenge.
08:35Oh, yes.
08:36And where that goes...
08:37Where does this land?
08:38Where that goes matters a whole lot.
08:42Oh!
08:42It's also in the northeast.
08:44Another in the northeast.
08:46That's crazy.
08:47Which is at least defended, so they're not getting it.
08:49It is a 65 chipper.
08:53It's, like, east of Taipei, so not very useful to us.
08:57They have 38, but they're going to two challenges in Kaohsiung.
09:01They're getting close.
09:02Yeah.
09:03They'll probably be there within the hour.
09:04Okay.
09:05Okay, well, the immediate options are we head south and try and flip some of their stations,
09:10and then we can cut back?
09:13Uh, yeah.
09:14Or do you want to go up on the express train and try and maybe solidify some of our stations?
09:21Maybe.
09:22We could go to the steel right now.
09:23I like that.
09:24We could go to the steel.
09:25Because that's also a form of defense.
09:27Because, like, yes.
09:28Because, like, we don't want them having the steel.
09:30Because, like, I think it's going to mess with our endgame strategy if they have an accessible steel.
09:35Oh, we'd be so mad if that happened.
09:36Because it's right on the high-speed line.
09:38Yeah.
09:38It's easy for them to break through on the high-speed line.
09:41We have no defenses on the high-speed line.
09:42Yeah.
09:43Are you thinking of the one in Taipei?
09:44No, there's the one that's closer.
09:45Yeah.
09:45Okay.
09:46There's the one, um, it's up there.
09:49Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:49We could maybe consider taking the low-speed, bolstering the low-speed, on an express train.
10:13Hi, everyone.
10:15It's us.
10:16And you know where we're at.
10:18We're at the Sanxonia.
10:18Yeah, you know what the word is from the Sanxonia.
10:21Today on the Sanxonia, we are going to be trying crispy, uh, gummy.
10:25Crispy gummy.
10:26I don't know.
10:27I don't, I do not, I do not know what this is.
10:29But I saw that it was called crispy gummy.
10:32I thought that is an oxymoron.
10:34I would love to find out what it tastes like.
10:41Okay, it looks, it smells very strange here.
10:51I thought that I would call it crispy.
10:55Disappointed.
11:00All righty.
11:01Then we are here in Kao Siung.
11:05Your boys have made it to Kao Siung.
11:07We did it.
11:08And let me tell you, we are hungry for chips.
11:12And good news, there's a challenge.
11:15Very close.
11:16Yeah, it's about a 15-minute walk.
11:18And there we can receive 40 wonderful chips.
11:22You know, we had so many chips on the train, but they were not the chips that I crave.
11:26No, those chips, I don't crave those chips so much.
11:29No.
11:29The scallop ones.
11:30Have we exited the snack zone, by the way, Ben?
11:32Do we need to play that outro?
11:34Oh, I guess we are now officially out of it.
11:44Folks, we left the snack zone.
11:46Sorry.
11:47And we're in the winning the game zone.
11:50Yeah, it's probably a better zone for us to be in at this point.
11:53Yeah.
11:54They're back at the station now.
11:56I genuinely have no idea what they're going to do now.
12:16We have to make sure we have the timings right for our master plan tomorrow.
12:21Fighter jet.
12:22Yeah.
12:22I don't know if you've described the master plan.
12:25Our finishing move, I guess, is what it is.
12:27Our finishing move as we go back to the east.
12:30All right.
12:31Let's take a minute to explain Mike and Mai's finishing move.
12:33Basically, it all centers around this section of rail on the east coast.
12:37When Ben and Adam tried to break through to Taipei, they were putting the minimum claim
12:40on the stations to conserve chips.
12:42That means that there are a ton of stations they only hold by one chip, making them very
12:47easy for us to flip.
12:48So the plan is we spend today and the start of tomorrow fortifying everything west of Taipei.
12:52The stuff that Ben and Adam could reasonably get to before the game ends.
12:55That way, we'll slow down how fast they can flip the stations they have easy access to to their side.
13:00Then, when there's just enough time left on the final day, we shoot down the east coast, quickly flipping all
13:05their weak stations to us and hopefully securing our victory.
13:08I think for now, what we know is this line that we're about to go down is by far our
13:14most vulnerable.
13:15So, reinforce it.
13:17We need to reinforce it to have any shot tomorrow.
13:19That will protect us from them flipping a lot tomorrow.
13:22Yeah.
13:23Mm-hmm.
13:23We're dropping the fives on the way, right?
13:25Right.
13:26Or fours, I guess, but you know.
13:28Yeah.
13:28Fours to get them up to fives.
13:30We're dumping.
13:30We're taking a huge old dump on this line.
13:33Is this it?
13:34Maybe.
13:35Yep.
13:352B.
13:54Oh, look at these buildings.
13:57Cool as hell.
13:59All right.
14:00Get us set up.
14:01Right over there.
14:03All right.
14:05All right.
14:06Our first challenge of the day.
14:09Here we go.
14:11Please be doable.
14:13Street art scavenger hunt.
14:19Street art scavenger hunt.
14:21Wai Wai Ying is famous for its massive, colorful street art murals.
14:25Amy has attached a list of characters she wants you to find hidden somewhere in the neighborhood.
14:28You must find at least three of them.
14:30You have 15 minutes.
14:32Ooh.
14:33All right.
14:33We've got goldfish, froggy.
14:37Elephant.
14:37Elephants.
14:38Radish guy.
14:39Radish guy.
14:40And then this is interesting because this is like on a box.
14:42Yeah, it's like an electrical box.
14:44Well, I guess we better just start looking.
14:46Start looking.
14:47All right.
14:48Wait.
14:48Is that the...
14:49Was there a goldfish?
14:51No.
14:52No, that's a different goldfish.
14:53Wrong goldfish.
14:55Just double check that nothing is here because that would be tricky.
14:58You know?
14:59Yeah, yeah.
15:00I don't think so.
15:02No.
15:02Okay.
15:03Oh, I see the radish guy.
15:06Wait, what?
15:06Oh, it's the gingerbread guy.
15:10There's one.
15:11This street art is really cool.
15:14It's cool.
15:14This whole block is awesome.
15:15It's rocks.
15:18All right.
15:19Not a ton on this.
15:22Frog.
15:23Oh, frog.
15:23Nice.
15:26Froggy.
15:28That's two.
15:30All right.
15:31We've still got plenty of time left.
15:44All right.
15:45We're at Taichung.
15:46Ideally, we want to train in 10 minutes, but we need to see a reservation for it.
15:49So we've got to move fast to get to the ticket booth.
15:53Yeah.
15:57We're at Taichung for this train.
16:04Okay.
16:05Seat's confirmed.
16:06All right.
16:07Let's stop at this block.
16:08So far, it's been one per block.
16:10I don't see nothing.
16:12I don't see.
16:13It doesn't seem like there's a lot on this one.
16:15Let's keep going.
16:16Is that the owl?
16:18Is that the owl?
16:19Where?
16:22Oh.
16:23Is that the owl?
16:24No.
16:24I think the owl is a different color.
16:26That's a different owl?
16:27No.
16:27Different owl.
16:28That's a different ass owl.
16:29That's a different owl, dude.
16:30There's a lot of fish on here.
16:31A lot of fish.
16:32Okay.
16:32I think good chance that fish is here.
16:35But it's a specific fish.
16:38I don't see him.
16:39I don't see him either.
16:44I am not able to match the fish.
16:53There's, like, koi on this one, but I don't think they're...
16:56Is it those goldfish?
16:59Could be.
17:00Oh, oh, no.
17:00It's, yeah.
17:01It's the one at the top of that.
17:02Top.
17:03Top of the green one.
17:04See it?
17:04Yeah.
17:06There's our boy.
17:10Easy.
17:11Done.
17:12Challenge complete.
17:13Forty chips in the bank.
17:14No problem.
17:16Now we're back in it.
17:17Oh, okay.
17:19They're successful.
17:20All right, then.
17:21When you generate the next challenge...
17:22Next challenge.
17:24It's a steal.
17:25Steal.
17:26Where is it?
17:27It's all the way up there.
17:29It's all the way up there.
17:32It's another steal.
17:33Where?
17:34It's another northeast one.
17:36There's such a cluster in the northeast now.
17:39I know.
17:39It's advantageous to us.
17:41I think.
17:41But it makes it even more attractive for them to, like, try to break through up there.
17:46Oh, to shoot through the high-speed rail to get up there first.
17:49They have dominated the south.
17:50They've protected it.
17:51We're actually not even considering challenging it.
17:54Yeah.
17:54So why would they stick around down there?
17:57They're gonna shoot through.
18:01I'm stressed.
18:03Well.
18:04No use to us.
18:05I think we should just go try and snag the other cow's young talent before the end.
18:09Good.
18:09Fastest way seems to be to just walk back to the train station we came from.
18:13Do we still want this current one we're going after?
18:16I think so, to get it off the map.
18:18You know, because if they do a 40% steal and then a 50% steal, like, over.
18:30Okay.
18:31Okay.
18:32Okay.
18:32Here we go.
18:32We are dropping chips along the way.
18:35We have a very defensive offense.
18:56We are back in the lead on chips, I think.
18:59I didn't think that would happen for a while.
19:01Where are they going?
19:02They're spending chips somewhere.
19:04I think they're going back north.
19:06Maybe they're fortifying that low-speed route.
19:08So, at the top of that line is the steal.
19:11They're going to be there in probably, like, an hour, a little more than an hour.
19:15I mean, we could reinforce—we're about to ride, actually, a bunch of stations.
19:19We're about to ride a bunch—it's true.
19:20We're about to ride a bunch of stations here.
19:23Yeah.
19:24I don't hate the idea of fortifying them.
19:27It would certainly make a steal hurt less if that's what they're going for next.
19:30Honestly, maybe weakening that steal could really hurt them.
19:34Yeah, because they're probably counting on that steal to get more chips.
19:38Yeah.
19:38I like that, Van.
19:39I think that's actually kind of smart.
19:42I just do want to bring up—I'm thinking about the endgame.
19:45Them fortifying both of these is a better move than what we thought they were doing when they were just
19:49fortifying them.
19:51Yeah.
19:57Okay, let's sit down and really think this through, Van.
20:00We have a little bit of time before our training.
20:02Okay.
20:03It's like their strategy at this point in the game has to be that in the last part of the
20:09last day,
20:09they're going to flip a ton of our stuff and take the lead.
20:12Yeah.
20:13So we just need to prevent that from happening.
20:15I think we do reinforce—I think we do this challenge.
20:19Depending on what comes up next, I think there's a decent argument.
20:23We go up to Taipei.
20:24By the way, we grab these high-speed stations that no one's gone to yet.
20:27And I think we try to gobble up the earning opportunities here to make it hard for them to pull
20:32off some big move at the end.
20:35Okay.
20:35So we're reinforcing up to—
20:37Yeah, we're going to reinforce fully on these seven stations.
20:40I think—I think I feel good about that.
21:11Oh, my God.
21:16Okay, welcome to Miao Li.
21:18So, I was just checking.
21:20It looks like they're starting to reinforce down in Khao Sealing with fives.
21:25They're probably dumping because they know we're about to go to a steal.
21:27But on the other hand, they're dumping chips in an area that we have no intention of going to.
21:31Right.
21:32They don't know that.
21:33So, we will—
21:34Okay, let's do this steal, and then we'll figure out what we think their possible moves are for tomorrow.
21:39Yeah, that will really matter.
21:41I mean, things are getting tense and complicated.
21:46There's too many options.
21:48I'd like to say it's getting fun.
21:49It is getting fun.
21:50Too many possibilities.
21:51I think this is our train, actually.
21:52We're just taking it one stop.
21:55For aesthetic purposes?
21:57I don't know what you're carrying in your bag that thumps that heavily every time.
22:01Well, I put the heaviest stuff at the bottom.
22:03You know, that's how you pack a pack, pack a pack.
22:05Which is very smart, but it makes me think you're carrying a whole bunch of gold bullion bricks,
22:10your whole rock collection.
22:11Well, how am I going to work out each night without my weights?
22:13Without your barbells, dumbbells?
22:15Yeah, I've got to stay yoked.
22:18Ah.
22:19If you had and leaned forward, it would be such a dramatic shot.
22:23I'm going to get that smoothly.
22:27Okay, it's steal time.
22:28We've got to lock in.
22:29We've been...
22:31Final lunges.
22:33I'm not going to say it.
22:34Past performance does not indicate future results.
22:37It does not.
22:40I'm locked in.
23:05Let's go see what this challenge is.
23:07They're continuing to go up and fortify.
23:10I'm not doing this challenge until they do the steal.
23:13No, I mean, we either wait until they do the steal or pass it, but...
23:17Yeah.
23:17We don't want to just do this and then have them immediately steal.
23:20No.
23:21So, seemingly, we just need to get over that way.
23:28Look, Ben, we're at the Kaohsiung American School.
23:32I feel so proud.
23:47I'm doing a ramble up at one point.
23:50We saw a round thing from the train off to the left.
23:52Yep.
23:53How did we get there?
23:54Probably down here somewhere.
23:56This kind of explains why high-speed rail is so expensive.
23:58Oh, yes.
23:59When you need hundreds of miles of something this big.
24:04Elevated concrete.
24:05But look at how busy they were.
24:06Extreme.
24:07There was probably, like, a thousand people on each train every 15 minutes.
24:10And not just commuting, like, within communities.
24:13Like, halfway across this island between large cities.
24:18On the downside, though, it basically means that Ben and Adam can get from where they are
24:22to Taipei in, like, 90 minutes tomorrow.
24:25I know.
24:25They can jump up fast.
24:27Here we are.
24:28Here's the round thing.
24:30That is a big, round thing.
24:31What do you think we'd do with it?
24:33It looks like they were building a massive lighthouse but only got three stories.
24:37Probably something cultural or something.
24:38I don't know.
24:39Okay, ladies and gentlemen, our last challenge of the day.
24:43Here we go.
24:46Estimate the diameter of the Hakka Roundhouse.
24:53Estimate the diameter of the Hakka Roundhouse.
24:55The Hakka Roundhouse is a perfect circle.
24:58Each teammate will take turns estimating the diameter of the Hakka Roundhouse in feet
25:02using nothing other than their body.
25:04You may choose to take either teammates' guess or the mean average of the two as your final guess.
25:09If your final guess is not within 20% of the true diameter, then this challenge is failed.
25:14I assume this is the Hakka Roundhouse.
25:17Do you want to go first again?
25:19I'll go second.
25:20You take us away.
25:21So how about you go behind that shed over there and I'll come get you when I'm done.
25:24Okay.
25:26Okay.
25:27Part of me is tempted to be smart and do math and all and try to measure the circumference somehow.
25:36But diameter, I feel like I should be able to just, like, see from here, like, it goes to here,
25:45roughly, and then I can figure out where the other side goes, right?
25:51You can see that it goes basically to the edge of this.
25:54How long are my feet?
25:56How long are my feet?
25:56How long are my feet?
25:56So, like, I'm thinking about an inch.
25:59How long is an inch?
26:01That's longer than an inch.
26:03I'm thinking about a ruler.
26:04I feel like my feet are almost a foot.
26:07It might be even more than a foot.
26:08Okay.
26:09I'm going to count footsteps at least.
26:11Okay.
26:12Here.
26:13One, two, three, four, five.
26:19Ben, I'm seeing something very interesting far in the distance.
26:23Yep.
26:23There's some big stuff over there.
26:25Oh, hell yeah, dude.
26:29Okay.
26:30Well, it's something with those guys.
26:33I mean, look at this up here, too.
26:36Yeah.
26:37It's crazy.
26:38All right, Benjamin.
26:40Evidently, we have arrived.
26:43We have the challenge right here.
26:44Would you like to hear it, Adam?
26:46I would love to hear what the challenge is, Ben.
26:49Test your luck at the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas.
26:56Test your luck at the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas.
26:59The Dragon and Tiger Pagodas are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kaohsiung.
27:03It's said that it's bad luck to enter through the tiger's mouth and good luck to enter through the dragon.
27:08Team members must split up and make their way to the top of both Pagodas, where they will play a
27:12game of rock-paper-scissors.
27:13The Dragon player must win the game without any prior collusion.
27:17If the Dragon player does not win, he must switch Pagodas and wait 30 minutes to try again.
27:21I certainly do not want to do this challenge right now.
27:25No.
27:25I think it looks like they are gonna go for the steal, and so we just wait them out.
27:31Wait till they do the steal, they succeed, they fail, whatever.
27:34Once they're done, then we can do this, and these chips will be pretty safe for the time game.
27:39I am in no rush, Ben.
27:41We're in the lead.
27:42Okay.
27:43Well, then let's just go hang out and see how they do.
27:47143, 144, 145.
27:50I'm gonna go 145 of my feet.
27:53Still a question of how long are my feet.
27:55I'm really tempted by the theory that these are one foot long.
28:00My foot is just slightly longer than them, and I was thinking my foot looks slightly longer than one foot.
28:10These are one foot, like 5% longer than that.
28:14What's 5% on 145?
28:17150?
28:18Does this give me 150 vibes?
28:21Kinda.
28:25I buy it.
28:26I think my guess is 150.
28:28Okay.
28:29That's my guess.
28:32My guess is complete.
28:34Should we just guess?
28:35No.
28:36Will I have to?
28:36I think go for it.
28:37Yeah, I'm just teasing.
28:38Okay.
28:39There are only a few things I remember from high school.
28:42E equals MC squared.
28:44Whatever that means.
28:46And I do remember the circumference.
28:49It's 2 pi r.
28:51R being the radius.
28:53And then obviously the other way of measuring it is to measure in a straight line.
28:58Now, of course, we can't go straight through the building, which would be the easiest.
29:01But we can line it up nicely with this tile.
29:05This reach is about 8 inches across.
29:08So that looks like a foot.
29:1012 inches.
29:11I'm Canadian, so I was going to use meters, but Sam will probably have put it in feet.
29:15And we have a really good measuring tool of about 12 inches here.
29:19Okay, let's start with the straight up measurement of the diameter.
29:241, 2, 3, 4, 5.
29:26Well, folks, we're having our boba.
29:31Well, I'm having boba.
29:32Yours is not boba.
29:32No, it's an O.T.
29:34They're there.
29:35They're there.
29:36They're at the steel.
29:37Um, we wish them the worst of luck.
29:40We hope you fail.
29:42Hope you blow it, boys.
29:43Blow it.
29:44Blow it.
29:44Blow it.
29:4570, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 150.
29:59And I think that's it.
30:01I'm not going to measure the circumference and do the math to figure out the diameter.
30:05I just think the chance of getting it wrong is higher because I don't have a proper measuring tool.
30:10So, that's our guess.
30:14149.
30:15Let's see what Sam says.
30:17All right, Sam.
30:18All right, let's go in front.
30:21Okay.
30:22Okay.
30:23All right.
30:24I think I can get unlocked now.
30:26What was your guess?
30:28149 feet.
30:30What was your guess?
30:31150 feet.
30:32We're clearly within 20% of each other.
30:34Well, yes, but we don't know if we're within 20% of the correct answer.
30:38And I don't think we want to know right now.
30:40No.
30:41I think we want to wait.
30:43I would bet that they're at their challenge.
30:45Waiting for us.
30:45Waiting for us.
30:47This is like yesterday.
30:48And we're waiting for them.
30:49I mean, this could literally go on forever.
30:53But we can't let it go on forever.
30:55No, because they have the lead.
30:56But we could theoretically let this go on until...
31:00Oh, the one o'clock train that we want to catch.
31:02Until this, yeah, whatever train we need to go do action down the East Coast.
31:06Yeah.
31:06Okay.
31:07Well, here's the thing.
31:07We've just missed the last train that we can take out of here.
31:11So...
31:11Might as well wait.
31:12Let's go post up and we can strategize a little bit more about what to do right now.
31:18Now it's a waiting game.
31:21Dang, that's a big koi fish.
31:25Oh, yeah.
31:25I saw some of them jumping.
31:27Wow.
31:28How about I just text what's taking you so long?
31:31Yeah, sure.
31:32Hang on.
31:32Let's get a selfie with this sunset.
31:34Ooh.
31:35Ooh.
31:35Ben, I just got a text.
31:36I don't know if it's from them.
31:37Okay.
31:38Well, let's hear it.
31:40It's...
31:40They said, what's taking you so long?
31:43Yeah.
31:43I bet.
31:44I bet you're wondering.
31:45Do the steal, boys.
31:47We are in the lead.
31:48We are in no rush.
31:49We can wait for as long as we want.
31:54Hop to it, boys.
31:55Okay.
31:56So, how long do we want to force a stalemate?
31:59I think we break it right before, at the most opportune moment, right before our train.
32:04But I don't think we should wait for a late train?
32:07Probably.
32:07I think we need to go offensive.
32:09Yeah.
32:10I don't think we could let this stalemate go beyond 9, 10 a.m. or something.
32:14No.
32:15And even then, we would need like a very specific sequence of events that is planned.
32:19We need time to complete the challenges, to gain the chips.
32:22Yeah.
32:23I tend to agree with you.
32:24Let's do some research and try to think about the permutations tomorrow.
32:28Okay.
32:29They're still waiting, Ben.
32:30Still no word from our boys.
32:32I mean, this might be a game of chicken.
32:34I...
32:34Maybe I'm wrong.
32:35Maybe I'm wrong.
32:36I think time is more precious for them.
32:38Because like, they have to flip more stations.
32:41Right?
32:42Right?
32:43Right?
32:44Okay.
32:45We've looked into it, and we think that we want to at least leave it to see if they break
32:51the stalemate first thing in the morning.
32:53We can skip the first train, and the next one is only like 10 minutes after.
32:58Okay.
32:58So, at least maybe overnight, they think over it.
33:02Let them sweat.
33:03Yeah.
33:03I feel crazy.
33:06Maybe we're...
33:07Maybe we both think we're in the better position, and someone is wrong, but...
33:11I think that the positions that we're in game-wise are pretty equal, but I think that
33:16they have more interest in speeding things up.
33:19I think...
33:19I think.
33:20I think we have.
33:21We're messing with our heads, but it's not going to work.
33:23We're really putting a squeeze on them.
33:24Yeah.
33:25But now, it's 5.30pm.
33:27So, we'll see you back here tomorrow morning.
33:30Good morning.
33:30Good night.
33:31Well, it looks like they are just stalemating us until the end of the day.
33:38So, we are going to end our day here.
33:40That's a wrap on today.
33:42Oh wait, just kidding.
33:43You thought we left the snack zone?
33:45Wrong.
33:45Wrong.
33:52We're still in the snack zone.
33:54We never left the snack zone and we never will.
33:57I've been trying to snack zone this the whole time we've been here.
34:00Yeah, every time the camera turns off at night, Adam goes and finds this.
34:04This is Taiwanese popcorn chicken.
34:07This is my favorite Taiwanese food.
34:15It's so good, dude.
34:17It really hits.
34:18Taiwan, low-key undefeated.
34:21Absolutely undefeated.
34:22Hong Street food.
34:23Absolutely undefeated.
34:24And that's the snack zone fact.
34:34Good night.
34:35Good night.
34:36We will see you here tomorrow morning when those cowards finally do their challenge.
34:49Three, two, one.
34:52It's 7.30.
34:53The final day.
34:54Welcome back.
34:55It's good to be back.
34:56Today's the day we're going to win.
34:58Okay, so they're still at their challenge.
35:00As are we.
35:01As are we.
35:02In a stalemate.
35:03There's a train in 15 minutes north.
35:06And the next one after that is not for 45 minutes after that.
35:09So the question is, what do we want to do?
35:11We've already invested this time.
35:13What's 45 minutes more?
35:15Yeah.
35:16I think because we decided at the end of yesterday to wait and hold the stalemate and see if they
35:22break.
35:22Yeah.
35:23We've got to do that now, too.
35:25Well, Benjamin.
35:26Good morning.
35:26It's 7.30 a.m.
35:28I have to believe that they will do their challenge now.
35:35Look, all we can do is continue to wait because time is on our side.
35:41It's the final day and we remain in the lead.
35:44I think that they need to nail everything today if they want to flip enough stations to gain the lead.
35:52So we're happy to wait them out.
35:55If they want to wait where they are until the end of the game, I'm happy to wait as well.
36:02No problem for me.
36:05I think they'd be happy to hold the stalemate all day.
36:07I mean, they'd certainly be happy to hold it all day.
36:10The problem for them is we can time the end potentially in a useful way for us.
36:14Yeah.
36:15We want to leave us just enough time to do what we need to do to prevent them from doing
36:21more.
36:21And we want it all to happen right before the end of the day.
36:25Right.
36:25How about we give them like, I don't know, 30 or so minutes to break the stalemate, miss this first
36:32train.
36:32Yeah.
36:32And then maybe in about 30 minutes if they haven't broken it, we go to negotiations.
36:37We like call them up and are like, I don't know.
36:39Yeah, that's fair.
36:40Maybe we try to convince them that we flip a coin or something.
36:42Yeah.
36:43Great.
36:44Great.
36:45Cool.
36:45All right.
36:46So for now, we wait.
36:48Ben and Adam, I hope you're getting antsy.
36:51They still haven't done it.
36:52What are they doing?
36:53I don't know.
36:54What are they doing?
36:56I don't know.
36:59What are they doing, you guys?
37:02I mean, look.
37:03Am I going crazy?
37:04We are in the lead, right?
37:05We are in the lead by a decent amount.
37:08They're continuing to wait us out.
37:10I sort of thought that they were going to finish it right at the very start of this morning,
37:14but it's been like 15 minutes now and still nothing.
37:19Are we wrong?
37:20Are we miscalculating this?
37:22We'll never break the stalemate because look, we got some swans to watch.
37:26Look those swans.
37:27Red beaks.
37:29They're ducks.
37:31Look at that beautiful duck.
37:32Look at those ducks.
37:33I could, I could stay here all day looking at these ducks.
37:35That is a beautiful duck.
37:37Ducks.
37:38Ducks.
37:39One of those ducks was eating a cigarette.
37:41Mmm.
37:42That's good duck food.
37:43I'm not, we're not going crazy.
37:45I mean, maybe I'm just wrong.
37:47I don't see how we're wrong here.
37:49No, I think we're right.
37:50We're in the lead.
37:51They have to move eventually.
37:54But I think they'll break.
37:55I think they know that I will, I will wait here for hours.
38:00And I will.
38:01And I will.
38:04Well, folks, I'm going to level with you.
38:06As we film this, we don't know how many episodes are going to be in the season.
38:09So if there are eight episodes, that means that you're watching this now,
38:13which means the next episode is the finale.
38:16But it also means that I don't know what just happened in the episode.
38:20I don't know what the cutoff was.
38:22But you know what?
38:22I do know.
38:23I'm stressed.
38:25I know that you're stressed.
38:26And I also know that we're all enormously appreciative of the fact that you watched on Nebula.
38:30You know what I like to do when I'm stressed?
38:32What's that?
38:32Listen to my own voice.
38:34Totally.
38:34Yeah.
38:35On the layover podcast.
38:37Mmm.
38:37Because I listened to it.
38:38I'm like, wow, that's such a good point that Sam made.
38:40And actually, what he did that looked kind of silly, it actually wasn't his fault at all.
38:45Totally.
38:46It was the world's fault.
38:47Right.
38:48Or Ben and Adam's fault.
38:49Well, I imagine it's soothing to you to listen to your own voice explain to you that you did nothing
38:53wrong.
38:54Right.
38:54Because I'm like, he's so right.
38:56Right, right, right.
38:57Yeah.
38:57And he's got a great voice.
38:58And you're going, I love this guy.
39:00Right, right.
39:00And if you don't find Sam's voice soothing, which might be the case for some of you,
39:05you could also check out another show that we've made, Abolish Everything.
39:09Abolish Everything is a live comedy debate show that we film right here in New York City.
39:14And then we film it and we put it on Nebula.
39:17Season two has just come out.
39:20I'm in it.
39:21Adam's in it.
39:21And it's really fun.
39:22It's a great show.
39:24We love making it.
39:25And again, it might help you sort of relax and unwind more than Sam's voice or less.
39:30I don't know what kind of a person you are.
39:31People do like using Sam's voice to unwind.
39:33I have a friend who, before I worked for Wendover, was like, this is what I listen to to go
39:39to sleep.
39:40Weird.
39:41Yeah.
39:41I can't imagine how you could fall asleep with such energizing logistics.
39:44Yeah.
39:44No, I know.
39:45Anyway, see you in the finale.
39:47Bye.
39:47Bye.
39:48Bye.
