00:01Previously on Seven Little Johnstons.
00:04Liz thinks that this is going to be a classy bachelorette luncheon.
00:11We're going to play porn or polish.
00:13Soft and wet.
00:14Polish.
00:15Movie.
00:16Below the belt.
00:17Movie.
00:18Grazing station.
00:19Save those for when he has the munchies.
00:24There is an incredible amount of work to get done down in the field before the wedding.
00:29I am afraid that he's going to run out of time to complete everything on the list.
00:35Do y'all know what the theme of this project is?
00:36They better live happily ever after.
00:40What's all this, Mom?
00:41Making a care package for Nana.
00:44When Mom was diagnosed with cancer several months back,
00:47she told us she was not going to treat the cancer, we're just going to let this play out.
00:52Everybody supports Nana's wishes, and we hope and pray and wish for comfort for Nana.
01:02Come on.
01:03I'm on time.
01:04Never been late for the limelight.
01:06Uh-huh.
01:06Don't look if you're scared of the view.
01:08You ain't see nothing like what I'm going to show you.
01:11Oh.
01:12Oh.
01:13Oh.
01:13Oh.
01:13Oh.
01:14Oh.
01:14Oh.
01:14Oh.
01:15Oh.
01:15Oh.
01:15Oh.
01:16Oh.
01:17Oh.
01:17Yeah, let's do that first.
01:18Just let her look at it all.
01:19Her flower girl dress.
01:22Look how pretty.
01:26So we are a month away from the wedding, and we still have a lot left to do.
01:32we have to remove a couple of trees in the ceremony and reception area and also build the
01:38arches for our ceremony. Let me see one of the shoes. Just let her to look at the shoes.
01:43Got to warm her up. Look how pretty. She's so pretty. I know it's shiny. She's like,
01:49mama, we don't wear these. So Leighton loves putting on dresses just as much as Elizabeth
01:55does. It is very seldom that you see Elizabeth in a dress. Dresses therefore are seldomly in
02:02Leighton's wardrobe. So we're trying to find one flower girl dress that Leighton is okay with the
02:10feel of it. Oh, look at Leighton. So pretty. Let's see, Ladybug. Come here. Where's Lolly?
02:18Look at your pretty shoes. No, she's going to run away. No, it's fine. Just leave her. There you go.
02:25Leighton looked absolutely beautiful in her little flower girl dress. I thought she was so
02:30adorable. And the fact that she was comfortable in it and was able to walk around, I thought it was
02:36great. And her little shoes just made it even better. Water basket. Oh, hey, baby. You're going to run
02:47down that aisle with a toothbrush. The current plan for Leighton walking down the aisle as our flower
02:53girl is throwing the flower petals. Leighton, look. Ladybug, look. It went for you. Butt toddlers, you know, are unpredictable.
03:03So it really just depends on her mood and if she gets a nap or not because it's going to
03:08be a very busy day.
03:09Let's try it. Your turn? Yeah. Do it. Say.
03:13Let's try it. Aww. Thank you.
03:24Seeing Leighton playing with the flower petals, it just makes me more excited about the day. She's just so cute.
03:30You can't help but, like, smile at her.
03:35Thank you. Look, you can pull the basket. You're going to hold it? Hold it.
03:42There you go. That's... There you go. There you go. Yay. Yay. Good job. There you go. She's taking it
03:53out.
03:53She's taking them all out. Yay. All right, get ready.
03:56She's getting ready to throw the basket. Yep. Yep.
04:00She says, damn it. Don't put them back in there. I dumped them tanks in there.
04:07Leighton doesn't really understand what to do with the flower petals, but, hey, we're keeping on practicing with her.
04:13You want to hold your basket?
04:16They're 15 minutes.
04:20This is a big wish of Elizabeth, but Leighton will be just turning two the week of the wedding. So,
04:28she's very young for a flower girl job.
04:32And then, are you and Bryce planning on a honeymoon?
04:35I don't know.
04:36I'm just going to play it by year.
04:38What's playing it by year? Because you'll have to book something before.
04:41I don't know. I don't know. I have to think about work. I have to think about school. I have
04:45to think about y'all. I have to think about Leighton.
04:47I am a little bit hesitant leaving Leighton. I have never spent a night away from her. Leighton's my world.
04:54She's my life.
04:55And I want to be a part of it every second.
04:58It seems like it's something every week that we need to do something.
05:01And, like, the honeymoon is the last thing on the mind because I'm just worried about everything going the right
05:07way on the big day.
05:15Good evening, everyone.
05:17We would like to begin by thanking him.
05:20Yeah, hold on.
05:22Bryce is nervous to give this speech for the rehearsal of dinner.
05:26Alex and I decided that we were going to talk to him and give him all the pointers he needs
05:31to carry out this speech pretty well.
05:34To my parents, thank you for your love, encouragement, and guidance throughout my life.
05:39Um, I love y'all very much.
05:42Um, to my fiancé's family.
05:45Um, let's see.
05:48So, speeches have always made me nervous.
05:53Me accidentally messing up.
05:56And then, now I've got all these people laughing at me.
05:59Just looking at the whole crowd just gives me the shivers.
06:08So, let's see where I left off.
06:10Um, to my fiancé's family, I am committed to cherishing and caring for your daughter for the rest of my
06:19life.
06:22I mean, the speech link's perfect.
06:25Yeah.
06:26Just, when you can, after each paragraph, I think looking up and making eye contact with people.
06:32I've got a way to help you out with the eye contact.
06:34We've got some people that we want to invite out.
06:39I'll go help you with this.
06:42I was only ready to say the speech in front of Jonah and Alex.
06:45So, I was thinking, I'm like, okay, who could this be?
06:48Come out.
06:49So, these are actual, actual scale.
06:53And they bring out cardboard pictures of them.
06:59And I just started laughing.
07:01And, most of the reason, because of their faces.
07:04Amber's got, like, the whatever face.
07:06Yeah.
07:08Emma looks like she's about to throw down.
07:10Babe, you look very happy.
07:13Yeah, she looks happy to be here.
07:15I actually might not get help when I'm saying my speech.
07:19You got three of the hardest critics.
07:21And I'll give you the most important part.
07:23Oh, yeah, the most important part.
07:25The cardboard cutouts, these are more for wedding planning light.
07:29Everything's supposed to be happy, uplifting, and just supportive.
07:34Appreciate it.
07:35Yep.
07:37Just drink a lot of beer before you do this.
07:40And then it'll be good.
07:41Try to chug this down real quick.
07:43I got one just to put up with this.
07:46For my speeches, I'll make at least three or four beers.
07:50But I'm going to have to have six for me to get on the dance floor and party hard.
07:54He's perfected the perfect pocket to be in.
07:57He knows his wheelhouse.
07:58And at this wedding, I'm going to go over my wheelhouse.
08:04So, okay.
08:06I got this.
08:08Yeah.
08:08Yeah.
08:09We know.
08:11So, I'll picture y'all as my parents.
08:14Yeah, yeah.
08:15And then kind of pivot elsewhere.
08:16Your parents will be that way.
08:17Yeah.
08:17So, to my parents, thank you for your love, encouragement, and guidance throughout my life.
08:24To my fiancé's family, I thank you for welcoming me into your lives with open arms, kindness, and generosity.
08:31If Bryce can deliver his speech to the cardboard cutout version of Liz, he can deliver it to anybody that
08:38shows up to this wedding.
08:40And tonight, as we share this meal and these moments together, let us celebrate.
08:48Yeah.
08:49Yeah.
08:49I can read it faster.
08:50I think slower is going to be better.
08:52Yeah.
08:52If you rush through it, people are going to ask, what was said?
08:56What did he say?
08:57And remember, the rehearsal speech doesn't have to be so formal.
09:01So, I'll be like, good evening, everyone.
09:04Cheers to all the deer hunters.
09:06I know how hard it is to not be in the deer stand right now.
09:09But I greatly appreciate your generosity.
09:13Let's have fun tonight, party, live it up, and celebrate this match.
09:18Yeah.
09:18Yeah.
09:19I mean, I think that would get a better reaction.
09:22Not from the three sitting right there, but.
09:29From when we started to now, I think you've already gained confidence to just go ahead on through it.
09:35When I was practicing, I was talking in front of cardboard.
09:41And even though I did really well practicing my speech, I'm still super anxious and nervous to do it in
09:50front of a big crowd.
09:51I'll practice it.
09:52Just remember, everybody, everybody's going in and arriving at your guys' wedding or dinner party with the same intentions, and
10:00that's to support you.
10:18One of the items on the wedding to-do list was a very large dead tree.
10:30The ground's a little bit soft, so when it falls and hits, hopefully it caves in, and we don't have
10:34rotten wood splatter and fly everywhere.
10:39This tree is probably going to be within 10 to 15 feet of the very large white tent that we
10:46will have for the wedding.
10:50We don't want this tree to drop a limb on the tent.
10:56We don't want anybody to get hurt.
11:04He's got to cut about two or three more notches out of it.
11:08Over a 20-year time period, I have taken out over 100 trees.
11:13Being a little person does not affect this job.
11:15The most important thing would be experience, knowing what you're doing, no proper cuts, and have an exit plan to
11:21be able to back up and get out of the way and allow the tree to fall.
11:24But accidents happen.
11:30There has been times when I cut down a tree and it didn't go so well.
11:35One time at our old home, we were cutting down a tree that was dead and leaning towards the road.
11:41And in the midst of pulling it with my truck, my truck caught on fire.
11:44Oh, my gosh.
11:45Oh, my gosh.
11:46It's fire.
11:46Hey, get out.
11:47Fire.
11:47Get out.
11:48Fire.
11:48Get out.
11:49Hopefully this tree removal will be easier than the one where the truck caught on fire.
11:56The only reservations we have about a tree like this, you know, a four-inch caliber limb that's 10 foot
12:01long falling 50 foot high, I could kill someone.
12:08Let's hope it falls the right way.
12:16Yeah, this will probably be the cut.
12:19Be ready to run if that tree falls wrong.
12:36We are taking this tree down because it's dead.
12:42There's no pretty leaves on it.
12:43It's just ugly looking.
12:44And it's a hazard.
12:46I don't want any branches falling on anybody at the wedding because we've had a branch fall off this tree.
12:51Quite a bit.
12:52So it's got to go.
12:55Yeah, this will probably be the cut.
13:00Y'all watch out.
13:02The tree's falling.
13:07Went pretty good.
13:09Woo-hoo!
13:11My dad had an accurate prediction on which way it was going to fall, and he was right.
13:15You know, it was all fun to watch the tree go down for three seconds, and then we were back
13:20to work.
13:22So let's wrap out all this stuff, get all this cleaned up.
13:25The hardest part was the cleanup after it.
13:31Holy crap.
13:35Golly, I'm out of shape.
13:38Now it's time to start cutting the trunk up into logs so we can roll them far enough out of
13:43the way.
13:47My arm's going to leak.
13:51You know, doing something this strenuous or this amount of work this close to the wedding probably is not the
13:57best idea.
13:57But this work has to be done because the wedding's not going to be put on hold.
14:07Damn, my chest is f***ing tight.
14:09Your chest?
14:10My chest is just tight.
14:13Does he have heart palpitations?
14:15Bad.
14:16Tram is cutting up the tree, and he starts having chest pains, heart palpitations.
14:21Obviously, you know, the first reaction is, like, heart attack.
14:27Chest is just tight.
14:30Heart attacks, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, that is all on his mom's side of the family.
14:37That's very, very concerning.
14:40You need to sit down because your heart rate's moving too fast.
14:42Do you need to go to the ER?
14:46The immediate thought to my mind is there's something really wrong.
14:49Is all this stress of the wedding, getting to him, all this planning and prepping that we've been doing.
14:54Are we overdoing it for my dad?
14:56Because I also need him there to walk me down at the end of the aisle.
15:00Man, that damn, that damn drink got me rushing.
15:04My chest is tight.
15:06I ain't eating anything.
15:07About 6 a.m., Amber and I woke up.
15:09We have our coffee together.
15:11Amber's coffee is like an asphalt patch.
15:14It's thick.
15:15Amber takes a five-pound bag of coffee and gets four coffee pots out of it.
15:19But it's like a, get going, get it, boy.
15:22But you need food.
15:23After I was drinking that coffee, I went out and I never did eat anything.
15:29Is he a bottle of pastel?
15:31No, it's fine.
15:33But will you run up and grab me a Budwasher, please?
15:36No, you're not going to get that if you're feeling like that.
15:38Elizabeth, I got to finish this field for your wedding and it's going to take a Budwasher.
15:41No, we can't eat food like normal people.
15:45We're not doing beer.
15:46It helps.
15:48No.
15:49I'm fine now.
15:50Dad wants a beer and the beer will fix everything.
15:52No, Dad, you don't need a beer.
15:54What's wrong?
15:54Does your chest hurt?
15:55I'll be fine.
15:56I'll be fine.
15:56Too much coffee.
15:57I don't know what the hell was wrong with him, but it turns out he is fine.
16:02Let's take a walk.
16:04Bryce, come on.
16:05Everything we've done is fine because it needed to be done and it's going to look okay.
16:09But there's a difference between green grass and enough grass base for that ceremony.
16:15But we still have this area right here that is very nice and it's very flat and it's perfect size.
16:20God bless.
16:22What?
16:22We are a month out and Trent is wanting to move where the ceremony is scheduled to be.
16:28Trent is not wanting to move.
16:30Trent is telling Bryce and Elizabeth, if the grass is not thick and lush, I want to have a backup
16:37plan.
16:37And the backup plan is just right of the original ceremony area.
16:43Well, last I checked, the people that said it makes sense to be right over there, it's what they do.
16:47The day when Julie was down here, she said it doesn't matter.
16:49Both spots are great.
16:50And she said it's ultimately up to Elizabeth.
16:52When we did the walkthrough, Julie said for us to put the ceremony here.
16:58Now, dad says we should put the ceremony here instead.
17:02She also knows who she's dealing with.
17:04And people just say, you know what?
17:06I'm not going to argue with them.
17:07Because I guarantee you that she would be like, you need to have it over there.
17:11I don't care.
17:12I don't care.
17:13I don't care.
17:14Just pick it.
17:15Because I don't like being the one to decide, because then it's somebody's not going to be happy at the
17:20end of the day.
17:21And then it's my fault, because I'm the one that makes the last decision, and I don't like that.
17:25I don't like to be that person.
17:26But honestly, whatever makes you guys happy, because I'm kind of done with this wedding planning stuff.
17:30You can pull.
17:32We can't be done.
17:32We ain't even there yet.
17:43So first thing is welcome to Elizabeth's bridal shower.
17:48Do you feel like Elizabeth is going to be surprised?
17:52Like nobody told her yet?
17:54I hope nobody has told her.
17:56I hope this is a surprise.
17:57It's supposed to be a surprise.
17:59Since Elizabeth has been really stressed about the wedding planning, we are throwing her a bridal shower.
18:05And we're just being super casual.
18:07We're like last minute going to be like, hey, let's go meet for lunch.
18:10Not like, hey, Elizabeth, two weeks from now, let's go meet at lunch.
18:14No.
18:14No, because then she's going to know something is up.
18:17Even though Madison threw Elizabeth a bachelorette luncheon at Elizabeth's house,
18:22there was still a lot of work involved on Elizabeth's behalf.
18:25So we figured throwing her a surprise bridal shower, she would not have to do any work.
18:31And she would just show up, relax, and be celebrated.
18:36Shoot.
18:36I misspelled welcome.
18:41I'm moving everything down now for two.
18:44Babe, it doesn't matter because we're going to take it.
18:47It's not T-O-O?
18:48No.
18:49No, it's T-O.
18:52No, what we should have done is told Dad what we want this to say and let him find the
18:57letters
18:58and see how it ended up being spelled and everything.
19:01I bet you Elizabeth would have been able to read it.
19:05Overall, I think Elizabeth's fine with surprises.
19:08I just know if Emma would have went to her and said, Elizabeth, I want to give you a shower,
19:11Elizabeth would be like, no, we don't need to do that, you know?
19:14So I was like, let's keep it a surprise because Elizabeth will talk you out of it.
19:19Oh, tell me if this is even, like, if I need to go.
19:22That's what I'm saying.
19:22So just take one corner.
19:24Now you can move this up and down until you like to level.
19:27So I'm hoping I don't, like, slip and say something like bridal or shower if I'm, like, with Liz
19:35because I'm usually with her all the time.
19:37Just have to not think about it.
19:40So, no, yeah, you want to center.
19:42Go up higher.
19:43But don't stretch it too.
19:46No, I'm not.
19:47God, we could have been smarter and just done Liz.
19:51Oh, shoot.
19:53Now you gotta go back.
19:57Down.
19:59There were some points in time where we were like,
20:02who the hell's bright idea this was to do this.
20:06And then I really feel like Emma and I were like, oh,
20:11when we laid it flat, we started doing the etching cream.
20:19The stencils are, like, lifting up and it's like, oh, my God, this stuff is,
20:24these letters are going to be screwed.
20:26Like, it's just, it's going to be a hot mess.
20:29Well, if this goes through the letters,
20:31I mean, there's not much we can do.
20:34Great.
20:35This mirror was relatively expensive.
20:37Emma actually went out, bought it.
20:39So if this mirror does not work out,
20:42not only are we out some money,
20:44but I'm going to have one pissed off 20-year-old
20:47at this bridal shower.
20:49Hmm.
20:50What?
20:51There's, like, chunks of stuff.
20:53Hopefully that's not, like, shards of glass.
21:07We're needing some wood for some wedding arches.
21:10She's the bride, I'm the carpenter.
21:12We are picking out lumber for Elizabeth and Bryce's wedding arches.
21:17Should we call it beauty lumber?
21:19This is your pick.
21:20I'm here to just assist.
21:21No, no, no, no, I'm not getting married.
21:23Just like with any other project,
21:25picking out wood is picking out wood.
21:27Smells like trees, looks like trees.
21:30Same old, same old.
21:31I'm sure Bryce would love to hear that.
21:34It is.
21:36Picking out wood is picking out wood.
21:41So when we build this arch,
21:42we need to build it out in the circle of the driveway.
21:45That's the flattest area.
21:46We've got a level stones, too.
21:48Lay sod, level stones, and...
21:50Concrete, polymeric, whatever stuff.
21:53Polymeric sand.
21:54Hopefully we can hurry up,
21:55get some of these final projects knocked out.
21:58We can focus on Nana,
22:00otherwise we just have to put on everything on hold.
22:03For the past six months,
22:05Nana has been in hospice care,
22:06but over the last five or six days,
22:08Nana has declined very quickly.
22:10We are definitely nearing the end of life.
22:13These next few days are going to be tough.
22:17It's just the hard part of just waiting
22:19because it's hard to watch her not be responsive
22:22like our typical cool Nana.
22:25The last three days,
22:27she has been nonverbal
22:29and has not been able to communicate with us.
22:33Here at the end, I don't want her to...
22:35I don't want to see her suffer.
22:37I don't want to...
22:38That's what the whole purpose is,
22:41her end-of-life care,
22:42is to ease it all.
22:44Just comfort care.
22:45Mm-hmm.
22:47When she got the results back
22:48that she has stage four metastatic cancer
22:51and her saying,
22:53I don't want to fight it,
22:54I don't want the treatment,
22:55that was very brave of her
22:57to make that decision.
22:58And now seeing her coming to the end of this battle,
23:03it brings us at peace
23:04because this is what she wanted.
23:06But this is definitely the hardest part,
23:08watching my dad go through this
23:09because my poppy passed away
23:11and now he's losing his mom.
23:13So really, everybody's just kind of thinking about dad.
23:16She was good to y'all.
23:17She was.
23:19Listen to this real quick.
23:20I have this one saved.
23:35As much as you're able to prepare
23:36for the loss of a family member,
23:39especially during a terminal illness like Nana's,
23:42it is tough.
23:43As much as you can prepare
23:44and understand what's going on,
23:47you know, these final days,
23:49they're challenging.
23:50And terribly sad.
23:57You know, it kind of helps
23:58to stay busy and do things
24:01during a time like this.
24:04For me, at least, it does.
24:06Absolutely.
24:08I do think dad working on the wedding
24:10has definitely helped him, like,
24:12process the grief
24:13and help him get through this hard time
24:14because it just gives him something
24:16to take his mind off of things.
24:17And I think that's good for him
24:19just so he's not in a constant, like, state of grief.
24:21Like, it's good for him to get out
24:22and do something.
24:24You know, even if Nana was able to live
24:26all the way up to your wedding,
24:28I don't think she would be capable
24:30of making it to the wedding.
24:39Hey, I'm feeling myself.
24:41I don't care about nobody else.
24:42Nobody else.
24:43I know I look good.
24:44I got food.
24:45I got flavor.
24:46I got a whole lot of now and now.
24:47Go!
24:49What's up?
24:49What club is that?
24:51Just practicing with the Seven.
24:52So a couple weeks ago,
24:54I met up with Rance
24:54to show him the clubs
24:56that we chose for him.
24:58Ta-da!
24:59These are sick!
25:00And over the last couple weeks,
25:02I have been working on them
25:03to modify, to fit him,
25:05and I'm looking forward for him
25:07to try them out again.
25:09Ooh!
25:11Oh, yeah.
25:12Seven.
25:13That's a seven?
25:14Mm-hmm.
25:16How's the grips?
25:17The grips are looking good.
25:19Yeah.
25:19It's been a long time coming.
25:2115 years, to be exact,
25:22in which I have been playing
25:23with kids' golf clubs.
25:25But today, that all changes.
25:27If we go back to your new seven,
25:30old seven,
25:32we're looking at a significant difference.
25:34Yeah, in length.
25:35So do a comparison.
25:38Yeah.
25:39It's a big difference.
25:42His old junior set,
25:43he was striking 90 to 100.
25:46Let's see.
25:54That sounded good right there.
26:01They feel great.
26:02The shaft feels great.
26:06Really nice.
26:08With the new seven iron
26:09that I modified and adapted for him,
26:12he averaged 145, 150.
26:15That's a significant difference.
26:19There it is.
26:20Woo!
26:22He landed just before that 150.
26:24There was four average-sized men.
26:275'10", 5'9", 6'0",
26:29and Rance was out driving them.
26:34So right now, what's the biggest change you see?
26:37The feel.
26:38The feel and the weight of the club
26:40are the two biggest changes.
26:42Just like when I'm wearing tailored clothes
26:44that fit perfectly to my body,
26:46having a set of clubs
26:48that are made perfectly for my swing speed
26:50and my height
26:51just gives me that extra level of sauce
26:53and confidence to play my best golf.
26:58Damn, dude.
26:59Wow.
27:01Anytime I have the ability
27:03or the knowledge
27:04to make adaptions for my community,
27:07it's a good feeling.
27:08And we don't stop at golf.
27:10Whether it's stools in the kitchen,
27:12stools in the restroom,
27:13anytime we can assist
27:14and make adaptions for little people,
27:16and I can help,
27:17it's just a great feeling.
27:18I mean, it's the life we live.
27:23Woo!
27:36Should we put all the cookies on here or no?
27:38Yes.
27:40There's been several times
27:42we almost blew the surprise.
27:45She saw Emma and I talking,
27:47so she's like,
27:48what are y'all talking about?
27:49Yeah, we had to lock up flowers
27:50in the bathroom,
27:51so we had to make a lie
27:52and say that the toilet was broke.
27:53Well, who stopped up the toilet?
27:54I'm like,
27:55just quit asking questions.
27:56Just quit.
28:01Emma texted me and she was like,
28:03me and mom want to meet you at Honeywood
28:04to just go over
28:05all the little wedding details
28:06one more time.
28:07Do you want to wait for lunch?
28:08And I was like,
28:09oh yeah, sure.
28:10So Elizabeth thinks she's coming here
28:12because it's a wedding thing,
28:14but not a like stressful wedding thing,
28:15you know, just kind of,
28:17hey, you know,
28:18this is what we have left.
28:20It's just, you know,
28:21making sure we have enough food for guests
28:23and decorations
28:23and all the fun stuff
28:25and hopefully just be done with the list
28:27after this lunch.
28:30Is that in the center?
28:35No.
28:37No.
28:38No.
28:42Ashley.
28:43Really?
28:45I'm in town for Elizabeth's bridal shower
28:48because Emma, she's like,
28:50I need you here.
28:52So the reason was to come support Emma,
28:55but also to see Elizabeth
28:56and Jonah too,
28:57but mainly for this one.
29:00Mainly me.
29:00Mainly Emma.
29:02And then we need a picture of us three.
29:04We can do it right here.
29:05In front of the thing, yeah.
29:08So the mirror turned out great.
29:10It was very much worth the work.
29:13I think we were really relieved
29:15that it turned out as pretty
29:18and as well as it did.
29:22Hey!
29:23Hey!
29:24Aw!
29:26So sweet.
29:27I know.
29:28Thank you all so much.
29:28Absolutely.
29:29It's so cute out of here too.
29:31Yes.
29:32Here, you can just set that.
29:34I would say a high top table,
29:35but she's short.
29:36So we'll just do them right here.
29:39That's what we'll do.
29:40Thank you so much.
29:41When I heard that Bryce and Liz were a couple,
29:43I was super excited.
29:46Just for that side of the family,
29:48just any kind of girl power over there is needed.
29:51That's the truth.
29:52And she brings a lot to the table,
29:54so I'm super excited for them.
29:56She does.
29:57Oh yeah, meeting her,
29:58I love her to death.
30:00Sweetheart.
30:01It's a surprise, right?
30:02Yes, it is.
30:03Okay, okay.
30:04You know, I text her all the time,
30:06but I don't think I said anything.
30:10There is a lot of people invited to this,
30:12and you know,
30:13I did not make a big deal on the invitation.
30:16The invitation literally at the end of the invitation says,
30:21let's surprise Elizabeth.
30:24So hopefully the secret has been kept secret.
30:30Does she look surprised?
30:38Live it up, live it up, don't get stuck.
30:41We all at the party, turn it all the way up.
30:44I think I see her.
30:53There's Elizabeth.
30:55There's Elizabeth.
30:57What the heck?
31:11I thought I was just coming here just to have lunch with mom and Emma.
31:14Emma said dress nice,
31:16and I'm like, okay,
31:17because sometimes Emma just likes to go out dressed up.
31:19I was not thinking that this was a surprise for me for the wedding.
31:22I had no idea.
31:25You were super sneaky.
31:28I just saw her yesterday.
31:29I kept it lip sealed tight.
31:33This is all for you, Liz.
31:36No, I had no idea.
31:37Y'all did good.
31:38Very good.
31:40You did very good.
31:41Is that what y'all were whispering about yesterday?
31:43Yes, we were actually.
31:46Good job, Emma.
31:48She was in shock because she was like,
31:50what are all these people doing here?
31:52And she had no clue.
31:54Clearly Bryce had no idea this was going on.
31:56Yes, he did.
31:57He did?
31:58Yeah, he knows.
31:59It does.
31:59Because he looks at me and he's like,
32:01well, wow, you look nice.
32:02And I was like, I was told to wear a dress.
32:04I was very happy.
32:06It was super sweet.
32:07I was just very shocked that they planned it so well.
32:09I genuinely had no idea that this was going on.
32:12Literally, my mind has been on finishing all the fieldwork for the wedding,
32:17finalizing all the little wedding details.
32:19What colors are you using, Liz?
32:21Greens, creams, the reds and oranges and fall colors.
32:26My advice to the bride and groom is that happy wife, happy life.
32:31So as long as Bryce keeps making Liz happy,
32:33I think the marriage will be golden from there.
32:36Did you get that from me?
32:37Yes.
32:38I learned from the best.
32:41Kitchen towels.
32:43Yes, Leighton loves pulling these off my oven.
32:46I love these.
32:47Mama don't need to see these or else she's going to steal these.
32:50And the fishing lures.
32:51Bryce is going to be so happy.
32:53I picked them out based on which ones were cute.
32:55Like pretty colors.
32:58I just told her we had to put something for him in there.
33:01I think in five years, their house will have way too many fish on the wall.
33:05So either deer or fish.
33:07Deer heads.
33:08Deer heads.
33:09Deer heads.
33:10Entirely too much camo.
33:12There's a nail polish in there.
33:14You want to guess what name it is?
33:15Oh my God.
33:16It's really?
33:17Oh God.
33:17So at my bachelorette party, we played a game.
33:20It was called Porn or Polish.
33:22You would not believe some of the nail polish names there are out there.
33:26Yes.
33:27Oh, getting naughty on my honeymoon.
33:30Oh.
33:32There you go.
33:35My wish and hope for them is just to live the rest of their lives together and have
33:41more babies.
33:42More babies.
33:44Because Mama Bee loves those babies.
33:46And I'm hoping they're going to have more children.
33:48I agree.
33:51And then rehearsal, everybody is welcome.
33:54You don't have to just be in the wedding party to come.
33:58She wants pizza and wings before the rings.
34:02The wedding is almost here.
34:04We're a little over three weeks away.
34:07And I mean, I am definitely excited.
34:09It's just one of these things that the worry sets in in regards to like the weather.
34:14Because there really is no plan B.
34:18So.
34:19Is it supposed to rain?
34:20We don't know.
34:21I mean, we're too far out.
34:23You don't know.
34:24Oh.
34:35Do you want to give your groomsmen on the day of like funny socks or do cufflinks?
34:40Not cufflinks.
34:41Not for an outdoor wedding.
34:43Those are made to be very formal.
34:46You know, Nana has definitely been declining.
34:49And the hospice social worker has let us know that, you know, the end is coming.
34:56We have all been taking turns being by her bedside.
35:00Currently, Trent and Alex are up there at the nursing home.
35:04And the rest of us are at the house, you know, waiting for the call.
35:08But in the meantime, we're just kind of keeping our minds occupied and talking about wedding details.
35:15So fun socks it is.
35:16Do you want beer theme, hunting theme, fishing theme?
35:22Hello?
35:23Hello?
35:41Hello?
35:50Hey.
35:51Bryce and Elizabeth, make it.
35:52Yeah, Bryce and Liz are here.
35:54Emma and Jonah are here.
35:57Nana just passed away about three or four minutes ago.
36:06She did?
36:07Yep.
36:12She's gone.
36:15Amber and I were visiting this morning.
36:18And we were there for about an hour and a half, two hours.
36:20And we had a good visit.
36:22And I was home about two hours.
36:24Hospice called and asked me if I could come on back.
36:27That Nana was transitioning to end of life.
36:31So Alex rode back with me.
36:33Alex and I watched her take her last few breaths.
36:36Bless her heart.
36:37Her mouth was just open.
36:38And she just, I mean, it didn't, she didn't do anything.
36:41Yeah, but she's no longer suffering.
36:45I go back again to losing Poppy and then finding out about Nana's cancer diagnosis.
36:51I guess it did prepare us, which both of them always said that you're not supposed to live
36:59longer than your kids.
37:00And there's a lot of truth to that.
37:01And I hope that's the case for us as well.
37:03So Nana passing away, it does give the family some closure.
37:08But it's never easy losing a parent.
37:14She don't look any different right now.
37:16Yeah.
37:17This is a new one for me and Alex together.
37:19I just hugged him and loved him.
37:20I said, you and I won't forget this moment together.
37:23No.
37:24The one positive is that her suffering is over.
37:26She'll be going to heaven with Poppy and everybody else up there.
37:30So that's, that's what's helping me get through this.
37:33All right.
37:34I love you.
37:35I love you.
37:35Bye.
37:41Well, you guys heard, Dad.
37:42Yeah.
37:43Yeah.
37:43Yeah.
37:46At least she won't be suffering no more.
37:48She's going to be in a happy, the happiest place.
37:52Yep.
37:53I mean, I think too, for all of us, the fact that she's been in the nursing home for six
37:58months has given us time to kind of prepare ourselves because I think these last couple
38:04days, especially, have been tough to watch Nana.
38:09Yeah.
38:11From last week being coherent, talking to this week, not really saying anything.
38:20Typical Nana would be asking us questions about boyfriends, girlfriends, school.
38:25We really didn't get that out of her for the last six months, honestly.
38:29So I think we're now just kind of relieved that the hard part for her is over.
38:34How are you doing?
38:36We both had a moment there for a second.
38:39Mm-hmm.
38:40I think she knew we were there.
38:42Yeah.
38:42I think so too.
38:45You know, losing Trent's mom, it's difficult.
38:48This is the first time that we have all been a part of watching someone, you know, slowly
38:54fade away and definitely prepared us.
38:57And we got to spend some good times with Nana.
39:00But Trent got a little emotional with Alex, just all of those emotions of what they just
39:06witnessed.
39:07And I'm really glad that Alex was there to, you know, to be with him.
39:12And that Alex handled it as well as he did.
39:17I'm not going to do Nana's eulogy.
39:19I'm going to let one of my sisters do it.
39:21But if any of you guys would like to write something and say something, you're welcome
39:25to do so.
39:26I have a whole thing wrote out prepared.
39:28Read us what you want.
39:29Oh, you want me to read the whole thing?
39:31Yeah.
39:31Okay.
39:32Nana filled each of our lives with love and kindness, especially with her grandkids.
39:37Oh, I love you.
39:39Her kindness is the kind that will stay with you forever.
39:42When knowing our Nana, you knew that life with her was never boring.
39:46Nana's the one that's been doing pelvic thrust the longest, so she should know.
39:52I got it.
39:53Gray?
39:54Grandma?
39:55Are you?
39:55We're trying.
39:56Trying?
39:57That didn't look like it.
39:58I know.
39:59And then there was Nana's unique wisdom.
40:02She taught us things you won't find in any book, like how to movie hop, buy one ticket,
40:07and get maybe one or two for free.
40:10Some may call this illegal, but we just say that's just our Nana.
40:14We were super grateful, you know, to have Nana for the last six months.
40:18We got to spend the time with her, tell her how much we love her, and tell our final goodbyes.
40:23And anyone who has met Nana will definitely know that she is a lady that you'll never forget.
40:30I'm thankful that Poppy asked me to marry him, because by doing that, I'm blessed with all
40:38of y'all, and you can't get any better than that.
40:42Amen.
40:45Nana, thank you for the laughter, the lessons, and the love.
40:48We will miss your voice, your cooking, your wit, your sugars, and your hugs.
40:52You will always be remembered.
40:54You will always be loved.
41:00Are you good?
41:06You know, as sad as it is for the loss of Nana, it's very important that we all still stay
41:11focused and come together as a family and make sure that we all do our best to pull this
41:17waiting off for Bryce and Elizabeth.
41:29Next time on Seven Little Johnstons.
41:32They were pretty, but she had every color.
41:35Nana had hydrangea bushes, so we are going to have us a little planting to remember Nana.
41:41I'm hoping Nana will cast down her love and her sunshine that she always brought.
41:47Just imagine where we'll be in, like, seven, eight more years.
41:51Two or three kids then.
41:53Ugh.
41:54I told Bryce that we would start trying after the wedding.
41:57We'll give her one more sibling.
41:59You never know.
42:00We just might have twins next.
42:03We're going to get this rehearsal started.
42:05The weather for the big day showed some light showers, 12 a.m.
42:09We were like, it'll dry up afterwards.
42:15We got our rehearsal, we got our dinner done.
42:18By the time we were ready to wrap up, we were raining.
42:23Ugh.
42:24All of this has been ruined within two hours.
